Mr. Sauceda
Mauro Sauceda, 77, of Beeville, died on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006, at Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
He was born Nov. 21, 1928, in Beeville to Juliana Anzualda and Pablo Sauceda. He retired from Bee Agricultural Co. after 30 years as a grain operator. He was a Catholic.
He was preceded in death by two wives, Edelmira “Anita” Sauceda on Jan. 28, 1978, and Lottie G. Sauceda on July 23, 2006; his parents; one sister, Adela S. Posada; and one sister-in-law, Pauline Sauceda.
Survivors include four daughters, Emma “Ami” (Marc) Walters, Mary “BeBe” (David Hernandez) Reyes and Dylan Mauricsa (Wyatt) Saenz, all of Beeville, and Abelicia Sauceda of Corpus Christi; three sons, Arturo Sauceda and Johnny (Rosie) Sauceda, both of Beeville, and Richard (Lupita) Sauceda of Kenedy; two sisters, Julia (Felix) Abrigo of Corpus Christi and Lydia (Manuel) Carranco of Beeville; one brother, Santos Sauceda of Beeville; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Victory Church with Father Luke officiating. A private burial was to follow.
Pallbearers were to be Astin Villarreal, David Hernandez, Cody Hernandez, Manuel Carranco Jr., Ruben Abrigo and Gonzalo Posada Jr.

Mrs. Velasquez
Paula Villarreal Velasquez, 68, of Beeville died on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006.
She was born on Dec. 23, 1937, in Beeville to Petra Arredondo and Paulo Villarreal. She married Benito Velasquez on June 24, 1955, in Beeville. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benito Velasquez Sr.; her brother, Tomas A. Garza; and her sister, Maria R. Martinez.
Survivors include three daughters, Diana Perez and Graciela Velasquez, both of Beeville, Norma Manzano and husband Santos of Alvin; six sons, Benito Velasquez Jr. and wife Sema, Javier Velasquez and wife Mary, Hector Velasquez Sr., Mario Velasquez and wife Michelle, Robert Velasquez and wife Cathy and Jose Velasquez, all of Beeville; 22 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Catarina V. Arredondo of Beeville.
Visitation was to be held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Angelus Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited there at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today (Saturday) at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Armando Velasquez, Marcus Velasquez, Rene Contreras Jr., Isaac Manzano, Robert Lopez and Ryan Lee Velasquez. Honorary pallbearers will be Jose Arredondo, Nick Arredondo Sr. and Jesse Arredondo.

Ms. Anderson
Mildred Diane Mayberry Anderson died December 3, 2006. She was 58. She was born October 13, 1948 in Beeville,  Texas to Julia Lucille Davis Dunn and Carl Mayberry. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church where her membership remained until her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Curtis Davis, and grandmother Julia
(Canada) Tippens.
Survivors include one son, Kevin Mayberry of Virginia Beach, Virginia; one sister, Yvonne
Dunnof Virginia Beach, Virginia; five brothers, Kenneth Davis (Stella) of Galveston,  Texas, Barry Dunn of Dallas,  Texas, Carl Mayberry (Louise), Reabo Mayberry (Marie), and Jackey
Robert Mayberry all of Beeville,  Texas; three aunts, Quency Davis, JessieCanada, and Martha Stovall of Beeville,  Texas; one uncle, James Tippens (Robin) of Georgetown,  Texas; a very special cousin and friend, Lois Virata of Beeville,  Texas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Friday December 8th at the Trevino Funeral Home. Gravesides services will be at 1:00p.m December 9th at Saint Rose Cemetery in Beeville with the Rev. Eric R. Tarver, officiating.
Pallbearers will be: Lionel Hodge, Charles Hodge, Jr., Marty Virata, Bernard Mayberry, Amos
Langley, and Ray Langley. Calvin Hinderman, Jr., Robert Felix Roy, Ron McCraig, and Henry Davis will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

Ms. Garcia
Esperanza Garcia, 85, of Pettus, died on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, at Corpus Christi Health Care Center.
She was born on Feb. 3, 1921, in Pettus to Maria Concepcion Gonzales and Fabian Garcia. She was a Catholic and a housekeeper.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include two daughters, Amelia (Leon) Santos and Rosa (David) Valdez, both of Corpus Christi; one son, Johnny Longoria of Pettus; two sisters, Eva Morin and Santos (Raul) Franco, both of Corpus Christi; three brothers, Erineo Garcia of Pettus, Ramon (Alicia) Garcia of Beeville and Raul (Cookie) Garcia of Kenedy, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pettus with Rev. Joseph Varghesevakayil officiating. Interment will follow at Pettus Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rene Cruz, Greg Garcia, Albert Longoria, Alex Longoria Jr., Johnny Longoria and Andrew Saenz. Honorary pallbearer was David Valdez Jr.

Mrs. Ramsey
Martha Nelle Crockett Ramsey, 81, of Spicewood and formerly of Mineral, died on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006.
She was born on July 19, 1925, in Pleasanton to Ida Mae Marshall and Burrell L. Crockett Sr. She was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, B.L. Dave Crockett.
Survivors include two sons, Bill Ramsey and wife Linda and Buck Ramsey and wife Katherine, both of Spicewood; one grandson, Marshall Thomas Ramsey of Austin; one great-grandson, Elias Buck Ramsey of Austin; and two nephews, David and Johnny Crockett, both of Victoria.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Mineral Cemetery with Rev. Jesse Berthold officiating.

Ronald Rincon, 50, of Corpus Christi, died on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006.
He was born in Evanston, Ill., on July 6, 1956, to Mary Vela and Manuel Rincon. On Dec. 31, 1987, he married Lillie Keller in Beeville. He was a supervisor for L-3 Communications. He was a Catholic.
Survivors include his wife, Lillie Keller Rincon of Corpus Christi; his parents, Manuel and Mary Vela Rincon of Cotulla; three daughters, Ruby Arredondo and husband James of Corpus Christi, Tracee Valdez and husband Juan of Longview, and Belinda Martinez and husband Enrique of Victoria; four sisters, Linda Marcial and husband Victor of El Campo, Blanca Estella Ortiz and husband Jesse of Cotulla, Nancy Nava and husband Eddie of Batesville, and Cindy Muriel and husband Juan of Woodward; four brothers, Manuel Rincon Jr. of Austin, Ricardo Rincon and wife Maria of Big Wells, Joey Rincon of El Campo, and Rene Rincon and wife Clara of San Antonio; six grandchildren, Nicholas Santellana of Corpus Christi, Javier and Daniel Valdez of Longview, and Veronica, Virginia and Victoria Martinez of Victoria; and 36 nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Angelus Funeral Home with a rosary recited there at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass was to be celebrated today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Patrick Donohoe officiating. Interment was to follow at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.
Pallbearers were to be Eric Marcial, Ricardo Rincon, Joey Rincon, Rene Rincon, James Santellana, Nicholas Santellana, Ruben Ponce, Marco Kretzmeier and Juan Valdez.

Gage Anthony Moreno, infant son of Felipe and Sally Cardona Moreno, died on Sunday in a local hospital.
A rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Trevino Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2. Father Patrick Donohoe will officiate.
He was preceded in death by two great grandparents, Freddy Silva and Philipe Moreno Sr.
Other survivors include his grandparents, Rosie and Felipe Moreno, Sara Rodriguez, rod Rodriguez, Josefa Silva and great grandparents, Felipe Moreno Sr., Vivian Martinez and Ascencion Vasquez; great-great-grandmother, Yolanda Moreno; five aunts, Gabriela Moreno, Wynonna Moreno, Linda Moreno, Patricia Cardona and Angie Garza, two uncles, Richard Moreno and Manuel Rodriguez.

Mr. Beights
Albert Gregory Beights, 53, died on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, at his home.
He was born on April 5, 1953, in Portales, N.M., to Willard Dean and Nora Edith (Chenard) Beights. He served in the U.S. Marines.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include one brother, Steve (Rosemary) Beights of Three Rivers; one sister, Thalia (Bill) Holt of Phoenix, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at Simmons City Cemetery in Simmons City.
Arrangements were by Roberson Funeral Home in Three Rivers.

Mr. Castro
Tomas Castro, 72, of Berclair, died on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, at the Beeville Regional Nursing Home.
He was born on Sept. 22, 1934, in Goliad to Graciela Castro and Alfredo Tijerina. He was a retired construction worker. In 1955, he married Natividad Garcia in Goliad.
Mr. Castro was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Dolores Castro; and one son, Richard Castro.
Survivors include his wife, Natividad Castro of Berclair; seven daughters, Rosa Maria Rodriguez, Rafaela, Dora Alicia, Diana and Sylvia Castro, all of Houston, Joelanda (David) Hilcroft of North Carolina and Angelina Castro of Berclair; one son, Raymond Castro of Victoria; two sisters, Guadalupe Benavidez and Grabiela Castro, both of Beeville; two brothers, Humberto and Alfredo Tijerina, both of Beeville; 21 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Friday at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was to be celebrated at 10 a.m. today (Saturday) at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Interment will be held at San Jacinto Cemetery in Riverdale.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Castro, Raymond Castro, Richard Rodriguez, Alonzo Castro, Anthony Castro and John Paul Canales. Honorary pallbearer is Jesus Rodriguez.

Mrs. Pond
Nancy Jewell “Julie” Whitlow Pond, 56, of Beeville died on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born on March 30, 1950, in Refugio. She attended Our Lady of Refuge Catholic School and Refugio High School before graduating from  Texas A&I in Kingsville. She was employed as a teacher at Bee County College and with the Dougherty Estate for many years. She was interested in antiques, especially dolls, and joined her brother, Jack, to produce a publication called Antique Trails.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas A. and Jewell Marie (Heard) Whitlow; her maternal grandparents, Thomas J. and Josephine (Lacoste) Heard; and her paternal grandparents, Faye and Ethel (Ricks) Whitlow.
She is survived by her husband, Leon John Pond of Beeville; her son, Douglas Zachary (Karen) Harralson, and two grandchildren, Derek and Brook, all of Deer Park; one sister, Jonette Whitlow (Alvin) Childs of Lamar; five brothers, Joel (JoBeth) Whitlow of Refugio, James Whitlow of Weatherford, Jack Whitlow of Port Lavaca, Jerry (Crystal) Whitlow of Beeville and Jeff (Shirley) Whitlow of Plentywood, Mont.; many nieces and nephews; and several grand-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited there at 7 p.m. Rites of Christian burial will be performed at 10 a.m. Thursday at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Refugio.
