Services for Norma Arnold, 82, of Spur were held Sunday, June 12, 2005 at Hwy. 70
Church of Christ in Spur with Eric Swenson and Bob Martin officiating. Burial followed
in Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home. She passed
away Friday, June 10, 2005 in Spur.
Mrs. Arnold was born January 22, 1923 in Red Mud to Alonzo and Ada Belle Embry
Hoover. She graduated from Spur High School in 1941 and attended Draughon’s
Business College in Lubbock. She married Louis Arnold July 22,1944 in Spur. He
preceded her in death in 1988. Through the years, she was very active in many
organizations including PTA, study club, scouting, room mother and the church. She
was also preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters, and one grandson.
She is survived by two sons, Randy Arnold of Crosbyton and Greg Arnold of Spur,
two daughters, Judy Clay of Spur and Kristi Bass of Breckenridge, two sisters, Leeoma
Cross of Spur and Robbie Briscoe of Levelland, eight grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Dickens County EMS, P.O. Box 277, Spur, TX
79370 or Spur Memorial Cemetery, P.O. Box 111, Spur, TX 79370.

Robert C. “Spec” Green, 88, of Spur died Monday, June 13, 2005 in Crosbyton.
Services will be at 3PM Friday, June 17, 2005 at First United Methodist Church in Spur,
with Rev. Larry Burton officiating. Burial will be in Dickens Cemetery under the direction
of Campbell Funeral Home.
He was born January 15, 1917 in Dickens to Thomas and Jeffie Hutson Green, early
pioneer settlers in Dickens County. He graduated from Dickens High School and attended
 Texas Tech. He served in the US Seventh Cavalry at Ft. Bliss as a part of the last mounted
cavalry. He married Theatus Rogers November 2, 1942 in Dickens. Through the years,
Spec taught and coached at Wilson, Southland and Guthrie High Schools. He worked for
Humble Oil in Guthrie for a time. He then took a position as state meat inspector in Post for
many years.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sydnie Green in 1999; six brothers and one
sister.
“Spec” is survived by his wife, Theatus of Spur; one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and
Sandy Green of Lubbock/Ropesville; one daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie and Wayne
Rider of Denton; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Campbell Funeral Home from 6-8pm Thursday.
Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 415, Spur,
TX 79370.

Services for Cecilia Tagle Salinas, 65, of Dalton, GA were held Saturday, June 11, 2005 a
t St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Fr. Paul Kariakatt officiated. Burial followed in Spur
Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.
She died June 6, 2005 in Dalton , GA. Mrs. Salinas was born July 9, 1939 in Corpus Christie
to Isabel and Beatrice Marquez Tagle. She attended Spur Schools. She married Refugio
Salinas February 15, 1966 in Spur. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Roberto Salinas, one sister, Minnie Tagle,
and three brothers, Paul Tagle, Santos Tagle and Fred Tagle.
She is survived by six sons, Ramiro Salinas, Raul Salinas and Franklee Salinas all of Dalton,
GA. Mario Tagle of Ft. Worth, Reynaldo Salinas of Spur and Rogelio Salinas of Tampa,
Floriada, five daughters, Yolanda Flick of Arthur City, TX, San Juanita Castaneda and
Esmeralda Hernandez of Dalton, GA, Duvigen Esquivel of Rocky Mt., NC and Margarita
Salinas of Tampa, FL, three brothers, John and Romeo Tagle of Spur, and Michael Tagle of
Amarillo, five sisters, Mary Gonzales, Cruz Saucedo and Lupe Ferguson all of Spur, Mary
Grace of Tulsa, OK and Gloria Pesina of Terrell, TX, 26 grandchildren and 6
great-grandchildren.

Billy Wayne Stanaland, 59, died Sunday, May 29, 2005 in Stonewall Memorial Hospital.
Services were held Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at the Assembly of God Church in Jayton. Burial
followed in Jayton Cemetery directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home, Rotan.
Born November 27, 1945 in Rotan, Billy Wayne was a son of the late Wayne and Grace
(Huchingson) Stanaland. He graduated from Jayton High School, Cisco Junior College and
 Texas A&M with a degree in agriculture. Billy Wayne was a former Deputy Sheriff of Kent
County and was currently a farmer and rancher. He lived in Belize Central America for several
years and operated a water buffalo ranch. Because of this, he was often called “Buffalo Bill”.
He loved driving his tractor, coon hunting, and raising pigs. Billy Wayne was an excellent
football player in his earlier years. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents and one daughter (Sher Lynn Stanaland).

Graveside Services for Faye Bennett Wilcher, 86, of Lubbock were held Saturday
June 4, 2005 at the Afton Cemetery in Afton,  Texas under the direction of Seigler Funeral
Home of Matador. Mrs. Wilcher passed away early Thursday at the Manna Acres Care
Center in Lubbock.
Faye was born August 29, 1918 in Lubbock,  Texas to James and Erie Hutson Robinson.
She was raised in Wichita Falls, TX and graduated from Hardin Simmons University. She
was a grade school teacher for the Patton Springs School District with over 25 years of
service. Faye married Ralph Bennett in 1942 they made their home in North Dickens
County where they farmed, ranched, and raised their children. Ralph preceded her in death
in 1974. She later married Harding Wilcher in 1975 and made their home in Possum
Kingdom Lake for 20 years. Mr. Harding preceded her in death in 1977. She had been a
resident of Lubbock for the past 10 years.

Lillian Grace Nay died on Tuesday, September 20. She was born to R.E. and Lillian Dickson on June 27, 1921 in Spur,  Texas. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Hen, her husband and partner in all that was good, John and her darling son, Eddie Hilley.
She is survived by her daughter Martha Hilley of Austin, daughter-in-law Jo Hilley of Jasper, grandson Ray Dickson Hilley of Dallas and a host of loving friends spread all over this country.
For thirty-five years, “Miz Nay” taught music to students from Spur to Crosbyton to Livingston, to Coldspring and many points in between. Her ability to instill a love for music in her students made her irreplaceable in the hearts and minds of many, many who worked with her. She was a Spur ISD library aide from 1979-1981. She was Executive Secretary of the Spur Ex-Students Association for over twenty years. Her sincere love for and dedication to her hometown and those who had been a part of it made her a legend in her time.
L.G., as she was known to many, had an uncanny ability to collect people. If you met her, you had no choice but to become a part of her life. She was an avid bridge player and will be missed by her many buddies. She threw the best holiday open house in the state of  Texas and will be missed by the many, many people who enjoyed her vitality and hospitality.
We will forever be indebted to Dr. Kenneth Kroll, Dr. Lloyd Berg and the marvelous staff of Seton Medical Center. You truly wrapped her in your loving care. Very special thanks and love to Ginny Go, Jim Jones, Kathy Reynolds, Sue Colburn and Lucy Dushay.
Services will be in Spur,  Texas on Saturday, September 24, 4:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Spur Cemetery. A celebration of Mother’s life will be held in Austin at a future date.
Donations may be sent to Hospice Austin, The Spur Cemetery Association at PO Box 111, Spur,  Texas, 79370, First United Methodist Church of Spur, or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Juan Rual Frausto, 38, of Spur passed away Friday, October 28, 2005 in Bosque County. Services will be 10AM Monday, October 31, 2005 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Paul Kariakatt officiating. Rosary will be 7PM, Sunday, October 30, 2005 in Campbell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home in Spur.
Raul was born April 5, 1967 in Hondo, TX to Raul Vinton and Guadalupe Moncada Frausto. He graduated from Stanton High School in 1985, and was a past member of the Knights of Columbus. He had been employeed by TESSCO as a journeyman lineman for the past 12 years.
He is survived by his parents of Spur; three sons, Juan Raul 3rd, Guadalupe and Steven Frausto all of Lacy Lakeview, TX; one daughter, Carmen Frausto and one step-daughter, Joyce Rubio both of Lacy Lakeview; two brothers, Ralph Frausto of Spur and Rene Frausto of Olgesby, TX; one sister, Rebecca Kelso of Copperas Cove; four nephews and two nieces.
The family suggests memorials to St. Mary's Catholic Church, E. 6th Street, Spur, TX 79370, or the Juan Raul Frausto Memorial Fund c/o Spur Security Bank, 120 W. Harris, Spur, TX 79370.

Howard Wayland Goswick, 83, died Thursday October 20, 2005 at Lubbock hospital. Services were at 3:00p.m. Sunday October 23, 2005 at the Church of Christ in Jayton with Mark Whitmire and Eric Swenson officiating. Burial took place in Jayton Cemetery directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
Born January 24, 1922 in Dermott, Howard was a son of the late William Henry and Lida (Caddell) Goswick. He served his country in the military from 1941-1946. He married Bonnie Parks July 12, 1945 in Snyder and recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They lived in DeBerry, LA for seven years and in Jayton since 1957. He was a rancher who loved being around his animals. He especially enjoyed having an Easter egg hunt for the grandchildern, whom he cherished. Howard was a member and former elder of the Church of Christ, a former member of the school board, a member of the Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association and the county chairman for the West  Texas Rehab. He is preceded in death by his parents and four brother (Jerry, Ernest, Marion, and Patches Goswick).
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Goswick of Jayton; daughter, Sheila Shoemaker of Abilene; three sisters, Novella Benites of Snyder, Delores Davis of Palestine and Sue Beason of DeBerry, LA; two grandsons, Roy amd his wife Christy Chisum of Jayton and Ray and his wife Carla Chisum of Jayton; and seven, Amber and her husband Sky Brightwell, Randi and her husband Chris Bruton, Kayla Chisum, Caleb Chisum, Clinton Chisum, Bailey Chisum, and Shanna Chisum.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Sammy Baugh Childrens Home in Jayton or the West  Texas Rehab in Abilene.

Sharon Jackson, 62, of Afton passed away Saturday, October 22, 2005 in Lubbock.
She was born April 21, 1943 in Lubbock to Raymond and Della Baxter Jackson. She was a Baptist and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her father and two daughters.
Sharon is survived by her mother, Della Dean  Jackson of Afton; one son, Ronald  Taylor of Akron, OH; four daughters, Melinda Heaton and Victoria Powell both of Houston, Pamela Blue of Katy and Patti Arthur of Ralls; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Kenneth Havens, 70, of La Porte,  Texas will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 5, 2006 in the Crosbyton Cemetery with Clifford Trull officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. Kenneth passed away Saturday, December 2, 2006 at St. John’s Hospital in Clear Lake. He was born March 27, 1936 in Spur,  Texas to the late Walter Elmer and Della Dale (Parsons) Havens. On January 27, 1954 he married Mary Isabell Ratheal in Clovis, New Mexico.
Kenneth attended Kalgary and Grassburr schools and graduated from Crosbyton High School. He farmed in Kalgary and Wake and was a member of the Pansy Baptist Church while living in Crosby County. He had also worked in construction. He moved to La Porte in 1988.
He is preceded in death by a daughter; Freda L’Dawn Havens on June 6, 1970.
Survivors include; his wife Mary of Baytown; a son and his wife; Tim and Jodie Havens of La Porte and a daughter and her husband; Shelley and Ronnie Bass of La Porte five grandchildren; Slater Bass and wife Nikki, Wes Havens, Penny Havens, Shelby  Jones and husband Ben, Randy Wheeler and two great grandchildren; Jentry Bass and Kylin Wheeler.

Eva Palacios, 83, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Chapel. Private burial: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Santiago Nino Sr.; second husband, Gabriel Avalos; and two children, Waldo Nino and David Nino.
Survivors: Children, Juan Nino of Jayton, Santiago Nino Jr., Elida Nino, Sam Nino, Dan Nino, Hope Morales of Jayton, Aurora Garcia, Olivia Nino, Eva Pantle, Noe Nino, Lydia Nino and Ernest Nino; sister, Estela Romero; brother, Frank Romero; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of Greenwood Funeral Home, Fort Worth,  Texas.

Cynthia C. “Cindi” Dodd, age 49, passed away peacefully at home on November 27, 2006 after a year-long struggle with breast cancer. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who always maintained a positive attitude and strong spirit. Cindi was at peace with God, her life, family, and friends. She lived her life taking care of her family, helping her friends, and tending to her horses - all of which she cherished deeply.
She is survived by her husband Mitch, daughters Autumn and Greer, son Chase, parents Ed and Faye Hall of Burnet and Charles and Norma Stoneman of Spur, many brothers and sisters, and extended family located all throughout the country.
A memorial service honoring Cindi’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, 2 December, at Triumphant Lutheran Church in Garden Ridge. The service will be conducted by her minister, Pastor Mark Gruebmeyer, and her brother-in-law, Pastor Mark Brewer.

Bonnye McMahan, 78, of Spur died Saturday, November 18, 2006 in Lubbock. Services will be 1 PM, Monday, November 22, 2006 at Community Bible Chapel in Spur with Rev. Ned Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.
Mrs. McMahan was born October 15, 1928 in Santa Monica, CA to Dewey and Fairy Robinson Ijames. She married Billy Joe McMahan January 26, 1951 in Spur. He preceded her in death August 28, 1989. She was a retired music teacher, and pianist. Bonnye was a charter member of Community Bible Chapel where she served at treasurer and was on the board of trustees. She was also on the board of trustees for the Independant Christian Churches and was one of the original instructors for the Bible correspondence courses for prisons. When her health would no longer allow her to attend, she continued to serve the church from her home.
She is survived by three uncles, Charley Robinson of Oregon, Pike Robinson and J.P. Robinson both of California; and cousins Orville Robinson, Seegar Jenkins, Sis Jenkins, Byron Jenkins, and their spouses.
The family suggests memorials to Community Bible Chapel, 507 N. Willard, Spur, TX 79370 or a charity of your choice.
