Mr. Treviño
Gabriel H. Treviño, 102, of Kenedy, died on Sunday, July 2, 2006.
He was born on March 18, 1904, in Beeville to Mariana Hernandez and Andres Treviño. Mr. Treviño was a retired farmer and ranch hand. He lived in Beeville most of his life and was one of the oldest cowboys and bronco busters in South  Texas. He worked cattle drives up and down the Rio Grande River and throughout South  Texas.
Mr. Treviño was preceded in death by his wife, Anselma Tapia Treviño; one son, Pablo Garza Sr.; one sister Manuela T. Martinez; five brothers, Rosalio, Sotero, Pedro, Onesimo and Francisco Treviño; and one great-grandson, Kelly Garza.
Survivors include three daughters, Susie Yzaguirre of Kenedy, Soila Flores and husband Regino Sr. of Kenedy, and Juanita Martinez of Beeville; two sons, Lorenzo Garza and wife Chonita of Placedo and Crispiliano Garza and wife Petra of Kenedy; 28 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; and 49 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held today (Wednesday) from 2 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited there on Thursday at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Eddie Garcia officiating. Interment will follow at Ross Cemetery in Bee County.
Pallbearers will be Joel Flores, Regino Flores Jr., Edward Flores, Joe Garza, David Garza, Jessie G. Garza, Pablo Garza Jr. and Lorenzo Garza Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Flores Jr., Jessie Garza, 2nd Lt. Alejandro Solis, Ben Solis, Ryan Zaragoza and Petty Officer 2nd Class Joe A. Flores.

Arenas
Sylvia Soliz Arenas, 63, died Wednes-day, Feb. 20, 2002. She was born Nov. 12, 1938, in Alice to Raul and Celia (Falcon) Soliz. She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic church. She had been active in many volunteer activities in the community, including the former Beeville Volunteer Ambulance Service Auxiliary and the Beeville Cannery.
Survivors include her mother, Celia Falcon Soliz of Corpus Christi; a daughter, Natalie A. Tinsley of Edinburg; two sons, Roland G. Arenas of Corpus Christi and Raul “Buddy” Arenas of McAllen; a sister, Palmira Fierova of Corpus Christi; four grandchildren, Stormie, Mikey, Ashland and Christopher; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Mary E. Nagle.
Rosary was scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Treviño Funeral Home chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, with Father Richard Gonzales officiating.
Burial will follow in Skidmore’s Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Raul Arenas, Michael Tinsley, Donald Oyler, Tomas Fierova and Ashland and Christopher Arenas.

Arredondo
Funeral services are pending at Treviño Funeral Home for Casildo G. Arredondo, 87. He died Friday morning at his home here following a long illness.
Mr. Arredondo was retired from the  Texas A&M University Agriculture Research Station and was a lifetime member of the Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include his wife, Santos D. Arredondo of Beeville; four sons, Alfonso, Casildo Jr. and Pantaleon Arredondo, all of Beeville, and Santos Arredondo of San Saba; three daughters, Maria Luisa Baltazar and Martha Carr, both of Beeville, and Adeliado Kallstrom of Austin; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Gonzales
Bernabe “Bennie” Gonzales, 61, of Falls City died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002. He was born Aug. 3, 1940, in Falfurrias to Gregorio and Maria (Villarreal) Gonzales. He married Lynette Todd on Jan. 29, 2000, in Nell and was employed as a cowboy. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lynette Gonzales of Falls City; a daughter, Norma Jean Lopez of Sinton; a stepdaughter, Kelly Polasek of Falls City; two sons, Bernabe “Bennie” Gonzales Jr. and Magdaleno Gonzales, both of Beeville; a stepson, Brandt Pape Jr. of Poth; his mother, Maria V. Gonzales of Coy City; four brothers, Carlos Gonzales of Berclair, Gregorio Gonzales Jr. of Pawnee, Pedro Gonzales of Stockdale and Rosendo Gonzales of Coy City; three sisters, Elvira Cruz of Kenedy, Elena Rocha of Three Rivers and Santos Rodriguez of Runge; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father; two sisters, Olivia Carranco and Margarita Cruz; and a brother, Venancio Gonzales.
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Eckols Funeral Home chapel. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, with Father Pedro Molina officiating.
Burial followed in the Nell Cemetery. Pallbearers were Rolando Reyna, Bernabe Gonzales III, Amado Cruz, Pedro Gonzales Jr., Oscar Rodriguez and Lupe Rocha Jr.

Malone
Michael Louis Malone, 53, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, in a San Antonio hospital following a sudden illness.
Visitation was scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Galloway & Sons chapel.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Galloway chapel, with the Rev. Bruce Fisher officiating.
Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. His six nephews, John Abel of Beeville, George, Grant and Travis Turner, all of Sugar Land, and Mark and Andrew Rector, both of Houston, will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Malone was born here on May 17, 1948, to Marilyn and Sid I. Malone. He attended Beeville public schools and had resided in a residential care facility in Devine for more than 10 years.
Survivors include his parents, Marilyn and Sid I. Malone of Beeville; three sisters, Day Malone Abel of Beeville, Patti Malone Turner and husband George of Sugar Land and Monna Malone Rector and husband Mark of Houston; a daughter, Stacy Malone Mattison and husband Greg of Tulsa, Okla.; an aunt and uncle, Ann and Morris Winkle of Round Rock; an uncle, James D. Evans of Austin; and several cousins.
Contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Beeville.

Medina
Melquiades T. Medina, 82, died Thursday, April 11, 2002, at Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
Rosary was recited Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Romeo Salinas officiating. Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Rodney Reyna, Phillip Villarreal Jr., Ryan Blakely, Dustin Lara, Alfonso Alaniz Jr. and Kenneth Medina.
Mr. Medina was born Sept. 5, 1919, to Juan and Sara (Treviño) Medina in Clareville. He was a retired United States Postal Service employee. He was a Catholic and a veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Anastacia Medina.
He is survived by his wife, Maria A. Medina; four daughters, Lupe (Alfonso) Alaniz, Alice (Raul) Reyna and Yolanda (Louis) Blakely, all of Arlington, and Imelda (Lupe) Lara of Beeville; a son, Mel (Dolores) Medina Jr. of Arlington, a sister, Adelaida (Phillip) Villarreal of Beeville; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Rodriguez
Baldomero T. Rodriguez of Beeville, 67, died Monday, April 15, 2002, at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio.
Rosary will be recited tonight (Wednesday) at 7:30 at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home chapel by Deacon Manuel Carranco. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Romeo Salinas officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2. Pallbearers will be Roland, Juan and John Roland Trejo, Gabriel J. Moreno, John Flores and Ruben Montez.
Mr. Rodriguez was born in Mathis on May 23, 1934, to Marcelino and Cesaria (Treviño) Rodriguez. He married Josefa Garza in Sinton in 1983. He was a truck driver for an oilfield drilling mud company. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1996 and one daughter, Maria Z. Yount, in 1995.
He is survived by two daughters, Adela Trejo and husband Santiago of Beeville and Sally Rodriguez of George West; two sons, Jesus Zamora and wife Maria of Tynan and Antonio G. Zamora and wife Norma of Corpus Christi; one brother, Joe Rodriguez and wife Anita of Houston; 25 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Hearn
Edna Hearn, 86, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
Mrs. Hearn was born Oct. 19, 1915, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Harry Horace Hubler and Hattie Malinda Hayes. She married Roy Hearn in Moline, Ill., on Nov. 5, 1933. They resided in Simmons City in Live Oak County. She was a housewife. At one time she worked at the state hospital in California.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, who died April 12, 2001.
Mrs. Hearn is survived by her daughter, Sandra L. Meineke of Three Rivers; one son, Delbert Hearn of Grant Pass, Ore.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Settle of Las Vegas; and one brother, Howard Hubler of Illinois.
No funeral services were held.

King
Emma Ruth King, 56, died Saturday, July 6, 2002.
Graveside services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at Duncan Cemetery in Flour Bluff.
Ms. King was born Dec. 31, 1945, in Tennessee to Bern and Virginia (Kruise) King. She married Ronald Holscamp in 1986 and resided in Live Oak County. She was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Ms. King is survived by her mother, Virginia King of Corpus Christi; three sons, Marshall A. Minnich of St. Louis, Mo., Matthew A. Minnich of Tennessee Calling, and Michael A. Minnich of Dallas; one daughter, Michelle E. Jennings of Ennis; four grandchildren; and two brothers, Joe King and George King.

Parker
Mary Kane Parker, 89, died Sunday, July 7, 2002, in Wilsonville, Ore.
She was born in Glenmora, La., on Jan. 4, 1913, to John J. and Lydia (Fee) Hogan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Parker, and her parents.
Mrs. Parker is survived by her two daughters, Billie (James) Pace of Tyler and Nettie Nelsen of Portland, Ore.; a sister, Anna Mae Harryman of Victoria; two brothers, Geno Hogan of Cuero and Curtis Hogan of Victoria; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Friday at 11 a.m. at Kenedy Cemetery in Kenedy with the Rev. Walter Hill III officiating.

Sain
Gerald Lee Sain Sr., 60, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002.
Visitation was held Friday evening at Angelus Funeral Home chapel from 7 to 9 o’clock. Funeral services will be held today (Saturday) at 10 a.m. at Beeville Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Stowe officiating. Burial will follow in Normanna’s San Domingo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny Petty, John, James and Kenneth Walker, Glenn Sullivan and Lewis  Schmidt. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Cline, Arlyn Houdmann, John Young, Jesse Garcia, Dennis Stephenson, Bryan Ponton and Bob and Ben Walker.
Mr. Sain was born in Fort Wayne, Ind., on Feb. 1, 1942, to Joseph David and Ann Francis (Stephens) Sain. He graduated from high school and attended two years of medical school. He served in the U.S. Army. He married Shirley Inez Walker on Aug. 11, 1962, in Waynesville, Mo. He was a carpenter/contractor and a member of Beeville Baptist Church. He also belonged to the Teamsters Local 362 in Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Eva May Hendress and Hellen Dee Nesbitt.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Inez Sain of Beeville; two sons, Gerald Lee Sain Jr. and wife Annette of Beeville and Chris Allen Sain of Fort Hood; two daughters, Tammy Jo Sain of Three Rivers and Cora J. Batch and husband Steve of Beeville; four brothers, Joseph Donald and Carl Lynn Sain and Franklin Ray Nesbitt of Indiana and Kenneth Eugene Sain of Vermont; five sisters, Ellen Buchs, Margie Pearleen Lake, Ruth Ann McCormick and Jo Ann Nesbitt, all of Indiana, and Judy Faye Ramey of Colorado; and his grandchildren, Casey, Evelyn, Taylor, Jessica Dananielle, Jonathan and Jessica Heather.
