Mrs. Guzman
Delfida S. Arredondo Guzman, 67, of Beeville, died on Friday, Aug. 31, 2007.
She was born on March 21, 1940, in Beeville to Manuela Benavidez and Pilar Salazar. She was a home provider and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Tomas V. Salazar; one sister, Consuelo S. Martinez; and two great-grandchildren, Gage Salazar and Gabriella Arredondo.
Survivors include her husband, Martin M. Guzman of Beeville; two daughters, Tracy S. (Joe) Martinez and San Juanita (Pedro) Trevino, both of Beeville; four sons, Juan Manuel (Gracie) Salazar, Amador (Terry) Arredondo and Martin B. (Stephanie) Guzman, all of Beeville, and Felipe (Lupita) Arredondo of Nederland; one sister, Eva Aguirre of Beeville; one brother, Jose Baldemar Salazar of Beeville; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Angelus Funeral Home with a rosary recited there at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Patrick Donohoe officiating. Interment followed in Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.
Pallbearers were Gabriel and John Manuel Salazar, Baldo Salazar Jr., Amador Arredondo Jr., Justin, Martin and Abel Guzman, Danny and Michael Trevino, Enrique Martinez and Trino Ramon.

Mr. Herrera
Sam Santos Herrera, age 35, died on August 29, 2007, in a Victoria hospital of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mr. Herrera was born on Oct. 19, 1971, in Beeville. He graduated from Runge High School in 1991 where he was an all around athlete. He enjoyed working with cars, fishing, cooking, and motorcycles. He enjoyed being around friends and spending time with his family. He was a sales associate for Wal-Mart in Kenedy.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Lisa Garcia; four sons, Sebastian, Sam Michael, Joshua and Riley Herrera; two daughters, Samantha and Angellyce Herrera; two step-sons, Noah and Jason Garcia; his mother, Maria Guadalupe Herrera; and his father, Ellis Y. Herrera Sr., all of Kenedy; four brothers, Arnulfo “Al” (Mary) Herrera, Ruben Herrera of Edinburg, Johnny (Alicia) Herrera of Marion, and Ellis (Mary Jane) Herrera Jr. of Corpus Christi; seven sisters, Sylvia Herrera of Victoria, Yolanda (Roberto) Herrera of New Braunfels, Lydia (Joe) Guerra of Corpus Christi, Severita “Sheve” (Antonio) Barrios, Sherri (Daniel) Ramirez of San Antonio, Rachel (Amos) Herrera of Las Vegas, Nev., and Rebecca (Andy) Perez of Goliad.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Trevino Funeral Home Chapel in Beeville. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore.
Pallbearers will be Al Herrera, Ellis Herrera Jr., Ruben Herrera Jr., Juan Trevino, Miguel Torres, and Anthony Longoria. Honorary pallbearers will be Toby Longoria Jr., Henry Martinez, John Brysch and Steven Kotara.

Mr. Kirk
Ray Kirk, 55, of Huntington, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, in a Houston hospital.
He was born Aug. 16, 1952, in Lufkin to the late Lola Maude (Smith) and E.J. Kirk. He resided in Angelina County all of his life. He was a licensed master plumber having been employed with the Lufkin State School in the Maintenance Department. He was a member of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F.&A.M. and a lifetime member of the NRA.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Kirk of Huntington; three daughters, Amanda (Cary) Griffith of Lufkin, Jessica (Jason) Hadley and Laura Kirk, all of Huntington; one son, Spenser Kirk of Huntington; one grandson, Hunter “Bug Hunter” Griffith; three sisters, Donna Bynum and Sharon McKelvey, both of Tyler, and Karen “Susie” Atkinson of Zavalla; one brother, Ronnie Kirk of Camp Verde, Ariz.; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home in Lufkin.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home chapel with Brother David Merritt and Brother Merle Smith officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow in Rocky Hill (Sims) Cemetery under the auspices of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F.&A.M.
Pallbearers will be Ben Wigley, Dennis Bell, Ronnie Smith, Bobby Smith, Tim Bell and Leroy Peterson. Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Click, Roy Hope, Gerry Griffith and Merle Smith.
Arrangements were entrusted to Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home in Lufkin.

Mrs. Moya
Amelia S. Moya, 94, of Beeville and Berclair, died on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007, at a Beeville nursing home.
She was born on Sept. 15, 1912, in Berclair to Constancia Suarez and Agapito Salazar.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Serapio Moya, in 1999.
Survivors include one daughter, Pauline (Ernest) Valencia of Beeville; three half-sisters, Ysidra Soliz of Beeville, Paula Nieto of  Louisiana and Terry Ponder of  Jefferson; one half-brother, Juan Salazar of San Antonio; five grandchildren, Rachel Martinez, Billie Luna, David Valencia, Ricky Valencia and Robert Valencia; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held at 7 p.m. Saturday at Trevino Funeral Home, and a prayer service was held at New Hope Christian Church, also at 7 p.m., with Pastor Salvador Rincon officiating. Manuel Carranco and Jose Martinez of Monte Del Olivar also spoke at the service. Funeral Mass was celebrated there at 2 p.m. Sunday, also with Pastor Rincon officiating. Special vocal music was provided by Tules Flores. Interment followed at Berclair Cemetery in Berclair.
Pallbearers were great-grandsons, Bryan and Adam Martinez, James Luna, Matthew and Jacob Valencia and Andrew Loya. Honorary pallbearers were Ernest Valencia, Rufino Martinez, Felix Luna, Ricky Castilla, Juan Guerra and Adan Martinez.

Mr. Sugarek
Sidney Joseph Sugarek, 81, of Olmos Community, died on August 27, 2007, in Beeville.
Mr. Sugarek was born on December 30, 1925, in the Olmos Community to the late Emil A. Sugarek and Henrietta Strouhal Sugarek. He wed Patricia Holbein on October 7, 1950, and they were married for 56 years.
He was a retired oilfield gauger and consultant and was an active farmer and rancher all his life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed his annual “Dove Hunt” held on his farm for the past 40 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII aboard the USS Banner.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia H. Sugarek of Olmos Community; two sons, Curtis (Debbie) Sugarek of Mathis,  Texas, and Joe Sugarek of Corpus Christi,  Texas; three daughters, Janis (Fred) Brown of San Marcos,  Texas, Lorain (Ray) Brown of Mathis,  Texas, and Joan (Rockie) Stautzenberger of Skidmore,  Texas; six grandchildren, Brad Sugarek, Chase (Michelle) Sugarek, Kelsey Sugarek, Sydney Jo Sugarek, Blake Stautzenberger and Ray Sugarek; and one sister, Ellie Sugarek Whelchel.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 29, at Galloway & Sons Chapel from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, August 30, at Galloway & Sons Chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore,  Texas.
Serving as pallbearers are Brad Sugarek, Chase Sugarek, Blake Stautzenberger, Robert Brown, Shane Custer and Cody Pierdolla. Honorary pallbearers are Bailey Whelchel, Willie Bohac, Joe Bohac Jr., Estevan Puentes, Frank Jancha, Jack Patan, Jackie Bohac and Rudy Klepac.

Mr. Tindol
Dale Alvis Tindol, 61, of Beeville died on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007.
He was born on May 7, 1946, in Beeville to Alvis and Louise Somerton Tindol. He graduated from A.C.  Jones High School in 1965. He served in the United States Army and was owner/operator of Petroleum Marketing. He married Margaret Ellis in Cadiz on Feb. 28, 1970. He was a member and trustee of Bible Baptist Church and was a member of the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, David Howell; and grandparents, Mattie and Charlie Tindol and Fannie and Thomas Somerton.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Tindol of Beeville; his parents, Alvis and Louise Tindol of Beeville; one sister, Joan (Donald) Spittler of Portland; three daughters, Shannon Tindol of Victoria, Allison Blake (Sean) Howell of New York City and Anne Farrell Tindol of Austin; two sons, Jason (Amy) Tindol of Brownwood and Garrett Tindol of San Angelo; two grandchildren, Ty and Kate Tindol of Brownwood; and one niece, Brooke Scogin of Fort Worth.
Visitation was held from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bible Baptist Church followed by interment at Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Morris Haney, Rick Stow, Billy Porter, Erwin Massengale, Wes O’Neil, Travis Tindol, J.D. Tindol and Kenneth Wallek. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Odom, Tommy O’Neil, Bob Wayne, Danny Stone, Ross Huegler, Chris Fruend, Kevin Wesson, Tommy Hensley, Donnie Morris and Jerry Dunson.

Barber
Tex R. Barber, 66, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001.
The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Galloway & Sons chapel, with the Rev. Gordon Talk officiating.
Burial followed in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jerry Barber, Mark Armstrong, David Valenti, Josh Roman and Bill Thomas. Honorary pallbearers were Phil Pacheco, Bob Wollman, Rex Barber, Lurtis Barber, John Bradshaw and Oliver Morris
Mr. Barber was born here on Oct. 18, 1935, to Bernice (Chesnutt) and Clifton Barber. He married Polly Boulton in Houston on Nov. 30, 1985. A resident of Houston since 1985, he was retired from the U.S. Air Force with 20 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Polly B. Loxterman Barber of Houston; a son, Flint Barber and wife Joyce of Colorado Springs; a daughter, Fawn Huberty and husband Paul of Kailua Kona, Hawaii; a daughter-in-law, Susan Valenti of Ocean Springs, Miss.; a brother, Rex C. Barber of Burnet; a sister, Margaret Bradshaw and husband John of Arlington; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Daniel Barber; and his first wife, Mona Barber.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.

Boscamp
Ruben Gerald “Crow” Boscamp, 70, of Sinton died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001. He was born in Beeville and had been a lifelong resident of Sinton.
Prior to his retirement in 1991, he was the veterans service officer for San Patricio County for more than 20 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, with service in the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sinton, the American Legion Post 633 of Mathis, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8625 and an active member of the woodcarvers association.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve G. and Diana Boscamp of Skidmore and Chris T. Boscamp and wife Paula of Sinton; a daughter, Tracy Cutbirth of Brownwood; three sisters, Frances Lee and husband Darrow of Sinton, Merlene Jacobs of Kingsbury and Patsy Cohea and husband Billy of Sinton; five grandchildren, Rob, John and Amanda Boscamp of Skidmore and Beau and Shylah Cutbirth of Brownwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral was conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Ed Brennan officiating.
Burial followed in the Sinton Cemetery.

Churchill
Angealla Churchill, 87, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001.
Visitation was scheduled Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Galloway & Sons Chapel in Three Rivers. The funeral is set for Saturday at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church there, with Rev. Bob Hobbins officiating
Burial will follow in the Three Rivers Cemetery.
Mrs. Churchill was born in  Jones County on Nov. 19, 1914, to Frank and Olia (Davis) Valentine. She married Milas Churchill in Bee County on April 8, 1938. The couple resided in Three Rivers where Mrs. Churchill was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Three Rivers.
Survivors include two daughters, Marjorie Woodward of Victoria and Wanda Luedecke of Corsicana; three sons, Wesley Warneke of Fort Patterson, Iowa, Bill Churchill of Bryan and Jim Churchill of Kingsville; one brother, Othel Lee Valentine of Three Rivers; three sisters, Loma Bruce and Maggie Nolan, both of Three Rivers, and Pearline Hines of George West; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Churchill was preceded in death her husband on Sept. 5, 1982, and by two brothers, Clifford and Finephaus “Bo” Valentine.
