Leeton
Janie Bell Leeton, 94, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003.
Visitation was held Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home chapel. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the same location, with the Rev. Bill Stockton officiating. Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park.
Mrs. Leeton was born in Charco on Nov. 6, 1908, to Aaron Alexander and Mary Alice Tomlinson. She was married to A.C. “Bob” Leeton, who preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1958. She was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Glen Leeton.
Survivors include her son, James Allen Leeton; a grandson, Trey Glen Leeton; and a granddaughter, Leslie Jean Leeton, all of Beeville.

Tschoepe
Geneva Lynn Tschoepe, 62, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003.
She was born on Jan. 14, 1941, in Del Rio. She graduated from Tuloso-Midway High School in 1959. She was retired after employment with Edwin Singer for 20 years and three years with Mrs. John Allen King. She was a Baptist and enjoyed rescuing animals and giving them homes. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Keith (Ida) Tschoepe of Corpus Christi and Kent Carl Tschoepe and fiancee Kathryn of Dallas; a daughter, Genay (Jim) Rogan of Corpus Christi; two brothers, Victor (Etta) Reynolds of Aransas Pass and Donald (Sandra) Reynolds of Houston; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Private graveside services were held Tuesday at the Sandia Cemetery in Sandia, with the Rev. Judy Baskin from the First United Methodist Church in Aransas Pass officiating.

Wren
Mary Faye Wren, 71, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003.
Visitation was held Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home chapel. Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday) at 4 p.m. at the same location, with the Rev. Bill Stockton officiating. Special music will include “Amazing Grace,” “How Great Thou Art” and “I Can Only Imagine,” with singers Kelly Clark and James Taylor. Burial will follow in Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Slayton, Dave Pederson, Jack Handley, Jim Handley, Raymond Tomlin and A.C. Meredith.
Mrs. Wren was born on Oct. 4, 1931, in Slayton to Floyd and Queen (Dennis) Norwood. She married Johnnie Wren on Dec. 11, 1948, in Lubbock. She resided in Beeville and was a housewife and a member of the Assembly of God.
Survivors include a son, Larry Wren and wife Trish of Beeville; two daughters, Rita Faye Schubert and husband Martin of Buford, S.C., and Linda Kay Schwab of Buford, S.C.; eight grandchildren, Brandon William Wren, Dustin Matthew Wren, Colton Spencer Wren, Tracie Lyn Hill and husband Bill, Keith Allen Schubert and wife Krista, Kristina Thierry, Kacie Perone and husband Charles and Bryan Theirry and wife Shelby; 10 great-grandchildren, Brisen Merrydith Schubert, Cameron Scott Kane, Ashley Reagan Kane, Augusta Grace, Henry Allen and Margaret Abigail Schubert, Bradley Curby, Aaron Perone, Hanna Thierry and Scott Thierry; three sisters, Ruth Starke, Myrtle Eckols and Bonnie Wren, all of Lubbock; and one brother, Melvin Norwood of Slayton.

Fitts
Herbert Milburn Fitts died Jan. 18, 2004, in Austin, after a short illness.
He was born in Rusk on June 15, 1917. His wife, Edith (Newman), preceded him in death on June 1, 2000.
Four children, 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren survive him.
His parents were Carter Hill and May (Shook) Fitts. He was a graduate of TCU and Brite Divinity School. He was the minister of the First Christian Church in Beeville in 1953-55. He served several other Christian churches in  Texas. He retired, as a supervisor of day care licensing, from the  Texas Department of Human Services in 1983.
His ashes will be scattered in April at his favorite place on Toledo Bend Lake, where he and Edith were longtime residents after retirement.
Memorials may be sent to Brite Divinity School, TCU, Box 298130, Fort Worth, TX 76129.

Rivas
Luis Koehler Rivas, 70, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, in San Antonio.
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the same location. Burial followed in Moya Cemetery in Berclair.
Mr. Rivas was born in Corpus Christi on April 15, 1933, to Perfecto S. and Mariana (Koehler) Rivas. He resided in Berclair, where he was a house painter. He was a member of the Catholic church.
Survivors include his five daughters, Irene, Maria Luisa, Angie, Diana and Cristela Rivas; five sons, Luis Jr., Henry, Carlos, Gilbert and Louis Perfecto Rivas; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and Carolina Murray, Maria McSpadden and Genevieve Garcia.

Vanecek
Sonya Marie Vanecek, 7, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004, following a sudden illness.
She was an active student at Skidmore-Tynan Elementary School and a member of the KJT Society of Sinton.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Paul L. Vanecek, and her uncle, Mario Martinez.
She is survived by her father, Clement Vanecek; a special friend, Sandy Kramer of Tynan; her brothers, Shane and John Vanecek of Beeville; her sisters, Reba, Heather and Ashley Vanecek, all of Tynan; her mother, Lucy Martinez of Houston; her paternal grandmother, Agnes Vanecek of Sinton; her maternal grandmother, Amelia Martinez of Tynan; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Rosary will be recited tonight (Wednesday) at 7 o’clock at Dobie Funeral Home chapel in Mathis. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sinton. Interment will follow at the Sinton Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Shane and John Vanecek, Joey Kramer, Paul Thomas, Hector Aguilar and Pete Cuellar. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth, Jerry and Rudy Vanecek.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Prosperity Bank of Mathis.

Rodriguez
Ramon G. Rodriguez, 74, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005. Visitation was held Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home and a prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Thursday there. The funeral service was held Friday at 2 p.m. at Monte Del Olivar Christian Church with the Rev. Jesse DeLaGarza officiating. Burial followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2.
Pallbearers were Joe Henry Gonzales, Arturo Gonzales Jr., John A. Rodriguez, Eric Sierra, Rick Leal and Oscar Bailleres. Honorary pallbearers were Laura Lee Rodriguez, Marie Bailleres and Joanna Renee Stapleton.
Mr. Rodriguez was born April 11, 1931, in Beeville to Antonia Gonzales and Antonio Rodriguez. He married Maria Martinez on Sept. 4, 1951, in Beeville, where they resided. He was a retired groundskeeper supervisor at Bee County College and was a member of Monte Del Olivar Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, Rudy Rodriguez, and one daughter, Gracie R. Gonzales.
He is survived by two daughters, Frances R. (Arturo) Gonzales and Jessica Brenda Rodriguez, both of San Antonio; three sons, Ramon M. (Mary Garcia) Rodriguez Jr. of Beeville, Juan M. (Belia) Rodriguez of Miami, Fla., and Ramiro M. Rodriguez of San Antonio; two brothers, Procopio Rodriguez and Antonio Rodriguez, both of Beeville; one sister, Isabel “Chavela” Amador of Beeville; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Diaz
Hilda G. Diaz, 52, of Beeville, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2006, in a Corpus Christi hospital. She was born Dec. 26, 1953, to Ascencion and Elena (Gonzales) Baldillez in Berclair. She was a housekeeper and a member of the Catholic church.
Ms. Diaz was preceded in death by her father; and two brothers, Ruben and Servando Orosco.
Survivors include her mother, Elena Baldillez of Beeville; two daughters, Monica (Jerry) Barrera of Beeville and Melissa (Sammy) Martinez of Normanna; a son, Jose Baldillez of Beeville; four foster sisters, Elena (Louis Sr.) Lopez of Dinero, Ramona (Larry) Beers of Kansas and Simona (Oscar) Garcia and Sylvia (Isidro) Ramon, all of Beeville; a brother, Hector Baldillez Sr. of Beeville; a foster brother, Alfredo (Mary) Orozco of Rockport; eight grandchildren; two nephews, Sidney (Michell) Baldillez Sr. and Hector Baldillez; and one niece, Clarissa (Edward) Cerda.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Treviño Funeral Home. The funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.
Burial followed in the Beeville Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Sidney Baldillez Sr., Hector Baldillez Jr., Rey, Randy and Roland Ramon and Louis Lopez Jr.

Mr. Lopez
Efraim “Jr.” Lopez, 40, of Skidmore, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, as a result of injuries sustained in a one-car rollover accident.
Mr. Lopez was born Oct. 21, 1966, in Lamesa to Efraim and Victoria (Cardona) Lopez. He was a 1985 graduate of Skidmore-Tynan High School and was employed at the Valero Refinery in Three Rivers in the maintenance department for the past 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Efraim Lopez Sr., and his father-in-law, Reynaldo Salinas.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Ann (Salinas) Lopez; two daughters, Victoria Delfina and Marina Elena Lopez; his mother, Victoria Cardona Lopez, all of Skidmore; four sisters, Delma Lopez, Irma Lopez, Nora Lopez (Juan David) Castillo and Andrea Lopez, all of Lockhart; his mother-in-law, Delfina Salinas of Skidmore; and four sisters-in-law, Anna (Raymond) Hernandez and Lisa (John) Contreras, both of Beeville, Terri (Joe) Gonzales of Skidmore and Susie (Reyes) Diaz of Brownsville.
A rosary was recited Tuesday evening at 7 o’clock at Treviño Funeral Home in Beeville. The funeral Mass will be celebrated this afternoon (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Skidmore, with Rev. Sebastian V. Thomas officiating.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore. Pallbearers will be Gordon Long, Don Johnson, Israel Lopez, Domingo Luna Jr., Juan David Castillo and Margarito Alvarez Jr.

Mr. Rider
Norris W. Rider, 96, died at his home in Beeville on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006. Mr. Rider was born in Doniphan, Neb., on Aug. 14, 1910, to John William and Ella Ethel (Riesland) Rider. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1928.
He married Mildred Evelyn Haden on Oct. 25, 1936, who preceded him in death on May 10, 1995. Mr. Rider served in the United States Army and was an armament machinist for 6 1/2 years during World War II. He was also a major in the State Guard for 23 years.
He was active in the community and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He entered the insurance and real estate business in 1947 during which he served 18 years on the City Safety Commission. Other memberships included serving as secretary of the Board of Realtors for 30 years, Boy Scouts of America for 23 years where he earned a Scouters Key, and lifetime member and past president of Rotary International. He was also a member of the Silver Haired Legislature.
Mr. Rider enjoyed plants, flowers, ducks and people. He was active with assisting crippled children and was presented with a citation from the Shriners for his dedicated work. He was a volunteer driver for cancer patients, was known as a regular visitor to local nursing homes and also served as a volunteer for the past four years at Christus Spohn Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John William and Ella Ethel Rider; one sister; and three brothers.
Survivors include his three sons, Leonard “Beaver” Rider, John W. Rider and wife Lynn, all of Houston, and Norris Tim Rider and wife Helen of Beeville; two daughters, Beverly Durrance of Palmetto, Fla., and Glenna Page and husband Dorsie of Alexandria, Va.; and a daughter-in-law, Carole Rider of Austin. He was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. The funeral will be held today (Saturday) at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South  Texas Children’s Home and American Cancer Society.
