Lopez
Thelma Ann “Toni” Lopez, 48, died Saturday, June 29, 2002.
Rosary will be recited tonight (Wednesday) at 7:30 at Treviño Funeral Home chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Patrick Donohoe officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Skidmore’s Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be  Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) Honor Guard Unit (honorary), Garza West shift 1-B employees, Encarnacion Garza Jr., Jose S. Lopez Jr., David G. Suniga Jr., Cassandra Lopez, George Olvera, Juan Galvan, Robert Barnes and Mauren Barnes.
Miss Lopez was born in Beeville on July 10, 1953, to Salvador Lopez Sr. and Alicia Bertha Garza Lopez. She graduated from A.C.  Jones High School and attended Bee County College. She was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army. She was employed as a TDCJ correctional officer. She was a member of the Catholic church.
Miss Lopez was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Katherine Lopez.
Survivors include her companion, Katherine Foster; her daughter, Theresa A. Lopez; her stepdaughter, Charlotte Foster; and her stepson, William Gobel, all of Beeville; three sisters, Mary Helen (David) Suniga of Beeville; Rosa Linda (Ron) McSwain of Fayetteville, N.C.; and Deborah (Mike) Harvey of Houston; one brother, Jose Salvador (Mary Ann) Lopez of Houston; and two step-grandchildren.

Puentes
Maria H. Puentes, 72, died Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at her residence.
A prayer service will be held tonight (Wednesday) at 7 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10 o’clock at the same location with the Rev. Fernando Gonzales officiating. Burial will follow in Clareville’s San Pedro Cemetery.
Mrs. Puentes was born in Bee County on Dec. 25, 1929, to Luis and Maria (Garcia) Hernandez. She married Lazaro Puentes on Feb. 15, 1948, in Bee County. She resided in Beeville and was a homemaker. She was a member of Iglesia Apostolica in Skidmore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Felipa Puentes; a sister, Guadalupe Gonzales; a brother, Porfirio Hernandez; and a grandson, Jessie Puentes Jr.
Mrs. Puentes is survived by her husband, Lazaro Puentes of Beeville; two daughters, Petra Morales of Beeville and June Medina of Austin; two sons, Jose Puentes of Orange Grove and Jesus Puentes of Beeville; one sister, Refugia Muñoz of Clareville; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Roberts
Camille Gordon Roberts, 93, of Victoria, wife of the late Morris Roberts, formerly of Bee County, died Monday, July 1, 2002.
She was born July 3, 1908, in Gatesville to the late L. Boone and Clara Brown Gordon. She was a graduate of Baylor University and taught school after graduation. She was a homemaker and maintained a lifelong interest in education and the arts as well as belonging to many organizations in Victoria.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Survivors include a daughter, Catherine Roberts McHaney; a son, John Morris Roberts; a sister, Katherine Gordon Murphy of Shreveport, La.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Episcopal Church in Victoria. Private graveside services will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Morris and Camille Roberts Scholarship Fund at Victoria College, 2200 E. Red River, or the donor’s choice.
Arrangements were by Rosewood Funeral Chapels in Victoria.

Caperton
Louise Caperton, 93, of George West died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002.
She was born on Nov. 24, 1908, in Floresville to William and Mollie (Wade) Woodlee. She was a retired health care provider and a member of the Baptist church. She was a cat and animal lover. She was a devoted grandmother who loved to cook and enjoy her chocolate pies and sing and dance.
Mrs. Caperton was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Vernie “Sunny Boy” Robalin.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Hall of San Antonio; a grandson, Charlie (Nancy) Harris of George West; a nephew, Jack Morsey of San Antonio; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Friday at Treviño Funeral Home chapel, with John A. Treviño, Eucharistic minister, officiating. Special music included, “Old Rugged Cross,” “You Are My Sunshine,” “Amazing Grace” and “Peace in the Valley.”

Ferguson
James G. Ferguson, 86, of San Antonio died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church there. He served as an aviation instructor in the Army Air Corps during World War II. His wife, Mrs. James G. (Scottie) Ferguson, is the former Lillian Scott Beasley of Beeville.
Survivors include his wife; a son, James G. Ferguson III and wife Sally of Lake Forest, Ill.; two daughters, Martha Scott Ferguson Hawthorne and husband Doug of Dallas and Kathryn Scott Ferguson of San Antonio; 10 grandchildren; two sisters, Lee Sinclair of Jensen Beach, Fla., and Elizabeth Northcut and husband Pres of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
A memorial service will be held today (Saturday) at 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in San Antonio with the Rev. Dr. Louis Zbinden officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Jim G. Ferguson Searcy County Library, Marshall, AK 72650, (870)448-2420. The family invites friends and loved ones to leave a message or memory at www.porterloring.com by selecting “Visitation and Services.” Select “send condolences” at the bottom of the individual memorial.
Arrangements were handled through Porter Loring Mortuaries, San Antonio.

Breon
Jeffrey Mark Breon, Jr. was taken by the Wings of Beautiful Angels into the Arms of Our Loving God on May 23, 2003. Jeffrey was born in Beeville, Tx. on December 22, 1980 to Jeffrey Breon and Leonor Alvarez. He was 22 years old.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Leonor Lerma Alvarez. He is survived by his mother, Leonor Alvarez and step-father, Rene Moya of Beeville, Tx.; his father, Jeffrey Breon, Sr. of Florida; two uncles, Orlando Alvarez of Alice, Tx. and Rolando Alvarez, Jr. of Laredo, Tx.; six aunts, Herlinda Duncan of Laredo, Tx., Rachel Thornton of Illinois, Irene Ronnow of California, Imelda Alvarez of Beeville, Tx. & Connie Ashely of Lake Jackson, Tx. and Claudia Herrera of Beeville, Tx.; three brothers, Chance Houston of Corpus Christi, Tx., Trevor Houston and Drake Moya, both of Beeville, Tx.; one sister, Kaitlin Moya of Beeville, Tx.; maternal grandfather, Rolando Alvarez of Laredo, Tx.; paternal grandmother, Barbara Ritter of Florida; fourteen cousins.
Jeffrey enjoyed sports of all kinds, especially motorcycle riding. He also enjoyed spending quality time with his family. Jeffrey was an all around athlete enjoying wrestling, basketball, football and was awarded a certificate by  Texas A&I for sportsmanship and outstanding accomplishments.
Rosary was held on Sunday, May 25, 2003 at 7 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Resurrection was held on Monday, May 26, 2003 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. with burial following at Beeville Memorial Park Cemetery.

Irene Elizabeth Rider Jackson, 92, of Kenedy, formerly of Beeville, died Sunday, May 25, 2003, in Uvalde.
Visitation will be held today (Wednesday) from 2 to 2:30 p.m. at the graveside in Glenwood Cemetery. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Greg Traylor officiating.
Mrs.  Jackson was born on Nov. 9, 1910, in Choate to Elbert Houston and Sereptia L. (Hooper) Rider. She married George Calvin  Jackson in 1941 in Corpus Christi. She resided in Kenedy and was a former Beeville resident. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Her husband preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
Survivors include two daughters, Helen Arhangelsky and husband Michael of Bushkill, Pa., and Mary Sponsler and husband Gene of Nederland; a son, Arthur  Jackson and wife Lynn of Uvalde; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eulalia Cruz, 84, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, in Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
Rosary was to be recited at Treviño Funeral Home on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated today (Saturday) at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, with Father Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2.
Pallbearers will be Simon Garza, Frank Cantu, Fernando Guzman, Ignacio Ramirez, Jose Cruz and Aurelio Lugo Jr. Honorary pallbearer will be Willie Longoria.
Mrs. Cruz was born in San Julian, Jalisco, Mexico, on Dec. 14, 1919, to Sebastain and Manuela (De Orta) Cruz. She married Miguel Cruz in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She resided in Beeville and was a housewife and a Catholic.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who died on Jan. 29, 1972.
Survivors include her daughter, Amparo (Aurelio) Lugo; three sons, Rosario and Jesus Cruz and Jose Antonio (Maria) Cruz, all of Beeville; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Richard F. Garcia, 75, died Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, in San Antonio.
He was born in Pettus on Oct. 2, 1928. Survivors include his wife, Susie C. Garcia; two sons, Richard C. Garcia and wife Diana and Ruben C. Garcia; a sister-in-law, Angelita Canales; a brother-in-law, Arturo Contreras; a nephew, Samuel Garza Jr.; and numerous other family and friends.
Visitation was to begin on Friday at 6 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South in San Antonio. Funeral services will be held today (Saturday) at 11 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park South.
Arrangements were handled through Mission Park Funeral Chapels South, San Antonio.

Rita Ann Bernal Landin, 57, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at her residence here.
Visitation was to be held Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Graveside services will be held today (Saturday) at 10 a.m. at Beeville Memorial Park, with Deacon Luis Treviño officiating.
Pallbearers will be Martin and Albert Soliz, Arnulfo and Jerry Bernal, Frank Vega, Robert Muñoz, Darrell Smithwick and Ernest Flores.
Mrs. Landin was born in George West on May 22, 1946, to Chale Ysaias and Esther Lydia (Balderas) Bernal. She was a Catholic and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Johnny Landin of Taft; a daughter, Laura Luchae Landin of Beeville; a son, John Leonard Landin of San Antonio; six grandchildren, Johnny Rangel III, Lauren Rangel, Sierra Valverde, Rae Lyn, Ashton and Brice Landin; three sisters, Esther Soliz of Freer, Ruby Sanchez of Corpus Christi and Julie Smithwick of Alice; three brothers, Chale Bernal Jr. of Prattville, Ala., Arnulfo Bernal of Victoria and Gerardo Bernal of Beeville; and her mother, Esther Lydia Bernal of George West.

Jack Welton Price, 79, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, in Houston.
He was born in Evansville on July 17, 1925, to O.P. and Iona Price. Survivors include his wife, Maggie Price; their children, Charlotte Fulenwider and husband James, David Price and wife Emily, Brett Gerety and husband Michael; grandchildren, Carrie Gonzalez and husband Alex, Amy Callager, John Price, Jeffrey Price, James Gerety and Maggie Gerety; and great-grandsons, Nicolas and Cristofer Gonzales; his sister, Marguerite Stephenson; nieces, Lyn Applebe and Jan Lucas; and a nephew, Jack Stephenson.
A private family service was held.
