Gonzales
Eufemia Garcia Gonzales, 86, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, at her home in San Antonio.
Visitation was to be held Friday at Treviño Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will take place today (Saturday) at the same location at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Marcelo Garcia officiating. Special music will be provided by singer Steve Perez. Burial will follow in San Pedro Cemetery in the Clareville community.
Pallbearers will be Ramon Omar Gonzales, Gerald James Jaramillo, Sandy Jaramillo, Domingo Adan Vargas, Carlos S. Lopez and Diego Gonzales. Honorary pallbearer will be Arnulfo Lopez.
Mrs. Gonzales was born on July 13, 1917, in Zapata to Pedro and Cirinia (Garcia) Garcia. She married Ramon L. Gonzales on April 2, 1934, in Beeville. She was a housewife and a member of Primera Baptist Church, where she taught the Sun Beam (Rayitos del Sol) Sunday School class and was a member of the choir. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. She had resided in San Antonio for the past 10 years, after moving there from Beeville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, a daughter, three sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include four daughters, Olga Gonzales of Beeville, Gloria Casarez and Sofia (Adan) Vargas, all of San Antonio, and Diana (Rafael) Casanova of Houston; a sister, Ramona Martinez of San Antonio; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Morris
Bernice Lucille (Lucy) Underwood Morris, 84, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003.
She was born on Dec. 13, 1919, in Papalote, to Edgar S. Underwood and Susie Maud Eason. She attended school in Papalote and Skidmore. She graduated from Skidmore High School in 1938. She married William (Mutt) R. Morris on Dec. 23, 1939, in Papalote. She was a member of the Tuleta Baptist Church and a homemaker. She also worked several years as a cook for the Pettus Independent School District.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother, Annie Underwood; her husband and two children, Kenneth W. Morris and a baby daughter; two sisters, Susie Loleta Morris and Audrey Belle Ferguson; and a brother, Arthur James Uehlinger.
Survivors include her sons, William R. Morris Jr. and wife Dorothy of Refugio, Gerry L. Morris and wife Joyce of Kenedy, Jerry G. Morris and wife Joy of Pettus, and Steve Morris of Beeville; her daughters, Betty L. Carroll and husband Ross of Victoria, Ruby Easley and husband Richard of Suwanee, Ga.; her grandchildren, Sherry Zeiss, Donna Fain, Laura Richardson, Sandra Brusso, Debbie Smith, Jason and Morgan Easley, Jeremy and Jodi Morris, Nicholas Morris, Rebecca  Johnson and Aaron Morris; her great-grandchildren, Derrick Fain, Christi and Kelsey Richardson, Michelle Zeiss and Trent Morris; a sister, Mamie Cornett of Corpus Christi; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was to be held Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home chapel. Funeral services will be held at the same location today (Saturday) at 2:30 p.m. Special music will include “In the Garden” and “The Old Rugged Cross,” with organist Myrtle Andrews. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Morris, Aaron Morris, Derrick Fain, William Zeiss, Phillip  Johnson and Larry Brusso. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Easley, Donna Fain, Sandy Brusso, Laura Richardson, Rebecca Johnson, Jodi Morris, Sherry Zeiss, Debbie Smith and Morgan Easley.

Andrada
Refugia G. “Cuca” Andrada, 82, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, at Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
Visitation was held Tuesday from 1 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home, with a rosary at 7 o’clock that evening. Funeral Mass was celebrated today (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, with Father Patrick Donohoe officiating. Burial followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2.
Pallbearers were Joe Brown, Alex Delgado, Albert Hernandez, Fred Andrada, Greg Gutierrez and Jason Kirk Delgado.
Mrs. Andrada was born in Bee County on Sept. 2, 1921, to Jose and Maria (Jimenez) Gonzales. She married Lorenzo Andrada in Beeville in 1952. She had worked as a seamstress for City Cleaners for more than 40 years before her retirement. She was a member of St. Joseph’s.
She was preceded in death by her husband, who died on July 28, 2000. Also preceding her in death were four grandchildren, Freddy, Larry and Judy Andrada and Jerry Delgado; a sister, Natalia Gomez; and three brothers, Ernesto and Eduardo Gonzales and Carlos Garcia.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Delgado and husband Alex of Beeville and Hortencia Bowers of Houston; a son, Freddy Andrada and wife Olga of Beeville; a brother, Eustacio Gonzales of Corpus Christi; a step-brother, Alfonso Tijerina of Beeville; a sister, Beatrice Ramirez of Austin; a grandson, Kirk Jason Delgado and wife Robyn of Beeville; four other grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Baldillez
Viviana Baldillez, 96, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, in San Antonio.
Rosary was recited Sunday at 7 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home chapel. Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, with Father Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were John and Justin Caballero, Jason Cuevas, John David Moya, Joe Guerra Jr. and Jeffery Carrasco.
Mrs. Baldillez was born in Ciudad Acuña, Mexico, on Jan. 10, 1908, to Francisco and Gavina (Orona) Mata. She had resided in San Antonio for the past 12 years, moving there from Berclair. She was a housewife and a Catholic.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leocadio Baldillez.
Survivors include her daughters, Jesusa Caballero of San Antonio and Juanita De La Cruz and Delia Walter, both of Beeville; a sister, Maria Villarreal of Crystal City; 47 grandchildren; 101 great-grandchildren; 39 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.

Reta Wise Carter, 97, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, in a George West nursing home.
She was born in Venus on Jan. 19, 1906, to Robert and Tennie Wise. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.S. (Jess) Carter; a son, Charles Carter; and one great-grandson, Jason Hatcher.
Survivors include three daughters, Maurine Hatcher of Little Rock, Ark., Wanda Rathburn of New Braunfels and Sue (Bill) Brzozowski of Beeville; two sons, J.B. “Rip” Carter of Cuero and Sam (Mary) Carter of Alice; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Sunday from 1 to 9 p.m. at Holmgreen Mortuary in Alice. Funeral services were conducted Monday at the same location. Burial followed in the Alice Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled through Holmgreen Mortuary.

Galvez
Erminia Gonzales Galvez, 74, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, in Houston.
Visitation was held Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home, with a rosary at 7 o’clock that evening. Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, with Father Patrick Donohoe officiating. Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Robert and David Rincon, Hector Garza, Tony Morales, Lee Gonzales and Damon Smith.
Mrs. Galvez was born in Runge on Jan. 20, 1929, to Anuncio and Elisa (Jones) Gonzales. She was married to Trinidad Galvez on April 30, 1959, in Pawnee. She was a resident of Guy, and had formerly been a Beeville resident. She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include her husband, Trinidad Galvez; her daughter, Norma Rincon and husband Bobby; two grandchildren, Krystal and David Rincon, all of Guy; and a sister, Zulema De La Cruz of  Washington.

Jameson
Former Beeville resident Jack Jameson, 77, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, in Corpus Christi.
Mr. Jameson and his family moved to Beeville when he was a youngster, where he attended school. He joined the Navy at age 17 and was enlisted in the personnel ranks and saw duty on destroyers. He was given orders to take place in Operation Crossroads in the Marshall Islands. He was stationed in  Washington, D.C., in the Navy Department. He was proud to be the first sailor at NAS Chase Field.
Mr. Jameson retired from CNATRA at NAS Corpus Christi and went to work with Navy Supply in civil service. He retired as a traffic manager. Mr. Jameson enjoyed fishing, working with his hands, yard work and keeping a vegetable garden.
Survivors include his sons, John W. (Elena) Jameson of Houston, Russell E. (Sharon) Jameson of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Michael (Holly) Jameson of Flour Bluff, Roger A. Jameson of Houston and Ezra Harris of Dallas; his daughters, Wanda Medlin of New Orleans, La., Linda (Robert) Dallas of Beeville and Rosetta (Carl) Phillips of Lavinia, Tenn.; a sister, Audrey Herod; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Friday at Seaside Funeral Home in Corpus Christi. Funeral services were held at the same location on Saturday at 3 p.m. Interment followed at Seaside Memorial Park.
Arrangements were handled through Seaside Funeral Home, Corpus Christi.

Maldonado
Abel G. Maldonado Jr., 49, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, in Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
Rosary will be recited tonight at 7 o’clock at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, with Father Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2.
Pallbearers will be Abel Maldonado III, Mario, Benjamin, Pete and Ricky Maldonado and Ricky Coronado. Honorary pallbearers will be Jennifer and Raul Maldonado, Ray Coronado, Evelyn Castro, Leticia Ochoa and Johnny Contreras.
Mr. Maldonado was born in Beeville on June 20, 1954, to Abel B. Maldonado Sr. and Carmen Garcia Maldonado. He served in the U.S. Army for 20 years before his retirement, attaining the rank of staff sergeant. He was employed as a correctional officer at the TDCJ McConnell Unit. He was a member of the Catholic church.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Maldonado of Austin; three sons, Abel Maldonado III and Benjamin Maldonado, both of Austin, and Mario Maldonado of Skidmore; six sisters, Margarita Salazar, Estolia (Victor) Contreras, Adelita (Jose) Salazar, Esther (Felipe) Martinez, Teresa (Ruben) Alonso and Andrea (David) Elizalde, all of Beeville; five brothers, Jesse (Linda) and Ricky Maldonado, both of Beeville, Raul (Tomasita) Maldonado of Houston, Pedro (Patricia) Maldonado of Rockport and Reynaldo (Debbie) Maldonado of Freer; and three grandchildren.

Gloria E. Robles, 52, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, in Mathis.
Visitation will be today (Wednesday) from 1 to 9 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home in Mathis, with a rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mathis. Burial will follow at Descanso Eterno II Cemetery in Mathis.
Ms. Robles was preceded in death by her father, Mario Robles Sr.
Survivors include her mother, Carmen T. Robles of Mathis; one sister, Carmen (Rene) Colmenero of Florida; a brother, Rey (Rose Mary) Robles of Odem; six nieces and nephews; and one great-niece.
Arrangements were handled through Treviño Funeral Home, Mathis.

Wardwell
Theresa Madeleine Gordon Wardwell, 73, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004.
Visitation was held Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Galloway and Sons chapel. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the same location, with the Rev. Greg Traylor officiating. Special music included “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art.” Burial followed in Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jay Davis, John Cashen, Brett Wardwell Jr., Seth Walker, Neal Downs and Herbert Andrews. Honorary pallbearers were Manuel Contreras and Mayo Perez.
Mrs. Wardwell was born in Aransas Pass on March 18, 1930, to Oss N. and Julia (Kimble) Gordon. She married Forrest Phillip Wardwell on May 29, 1948, in Beeville. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Wardwell was a homemaker. She formerly worked as a cashier for Williams Palace. She attended TOPS and was active in church.
Her husband preceded her in death in March 1977. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Joyce Ramans; a daughter, Angela Stults; and a granddaughter, Mendy Daniel.
Survivors include her daughter, Connie Cashen and husband Bill of Kingsville; a son, Brett Wardwell of Corpus Christi; two sisters, Mavis Barker and Naida Davis and husband Perry, all of Beeville; a brother, Autry Gordon and wife Penny of Alice; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Soledad (Davila) DeLeon, 91, died Sunday, March 7, 2004, in Kenedy.
A rosary/prayer service was held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Eckols Funeral Home chapel. Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, with Father Mauricio Lopez and Father Walter Hill III officiating. Burial followed in Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe near Pawnee.
Pallbearers were Robert Martinez, Leonel Martinez, Guadalupe Martinez, Roy Gutierrez, Danny Davila and Leroy Martinez. Honorary pallbearers were Louis Garibay, Ronnie Davila and Lesander Martinez.
Mrs. DeLeon was born in Nava Coah, Mexico, on May 28, 1912, to Vicente and Juanita (Balderas) Cantu Santos. She married Guadalupe Davila DeLeon in October 1930 in Atascosa County. She was a housewife and a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guadalupe Davila DeLeon, her parents, a brother, Manuel Cantu, and four sisters.
Survivors include her daughters, Delia (Leon) D. Martinez of Floresville, Estella D. (Rudy M.) Gutierrez of Kenedy and Lilly D. Garibay of Kenedy; a son, Everardo (Olga E.) Davila of Houston; 12 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Santiago Saenz “Chago” Orozco, 77, died Thursday, March 11, 2004.
Visitation was to be held Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will take place today (Saturday) at 10 a.m. at the same location, with the Rev. Frances Perez officiating. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2.
Pallbearers will be Sam Orozco, Abie Orozco Jr., David Orozco, Richard Orozco Jr., Jesus Orozco and Eloy Orozco. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricardo Coronado and Abel Salazar.
Mr. Orozco was born in Mexico on April 5, 1926, to Santiago and Candelaria (Saenz) Orozco. He married Margarita Guerrero in Beeville. He resided here and was a retired heavy machine operator. He was a Pentecostal.
His wife preceded him in death on May 30, 1996.
Survivors include three daughters, Maxine Rocha of Yoakum, Delia Saenz and Bangie Perez, both of Beeville; three sons, Jesse Orozco of San Antonio, Richard Orozco of Houston and Abraham Orozco of Beeville; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Ida Richardson, 91, died Monday, March 8, 2004.
Visitation will be held today (Wednesday) from 2 to 9 p.m. at Galloway and Sons chapel. Rosary was recited Thursday at 7 p.m. at the same location. Funeral Mass was to be celebrated Friday at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Richard Gonzales officiating. Burial followed in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bernard Johnson, Lionel Hodge, George McCarty, Victor Gonzales, Mitchell Smith and Richard Smith. Honorary pallbearers were the nurses and staff of Hillside Nursing Home, the ICU staff at Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville and Erick Echavarry, P.A.
Mrs. Richardson was born in Lafayette, La., on Oct. 20, 1912, to Azoria and Clementine (Harris) Thomas. She married Preston Richardson on March 5, 1946, in Beeville. She had resided here since 1919 and was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church. She was retired, after working for years cleaning houses and businesses.
Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, William Hill Richardson.
Survivors include her husband, Preston Richardson, and a daughter, Iantha Richardson, both of Beeville; a son, Thomas Richardson and wife Lil of Killeen; seven step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; and five step-great-great-grandchildren.
