WAYNE R. GAGE

Graveside services for Wayne R. Gage, 66, of Lake  Jackson are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 6, 2003 at South Park Cemetery in Pearland with Bro. Allen Stovall officiating.

Friends may visit with the family at Palms Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Thursday.

Wayne was born in Fort Worth to George and Daisey Alford Gage on March 15, 1936.

He served in the United States Navy. His parents; one sister, Lois Miller Wells; a niece, Cathy McGowen preceded him in death.

Wayne passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2003 in Lake Jackson.

Surviving are three sisters, Wanda Buchanan of Angleton, Judy Moreo of Nevada, and Betty Stanley of Utah; three nieces, two nephews and numerous other relatives.

OLGA FERN FILLIAM

Olga Fern Gilliam, 88 formerly of Freeport,  Texas passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at Country Care Village in Angleton.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2003 at the Lakewood Funeral Chapel with Mr. Charles Rabon of Freeport Church of Christ officiating.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Funeral Chapel.

Fern was survived by Shirley Allen and husband, John of Missouri City; granddaughter, Lindsey Allen of Dallas; and brother, Elvis Doggett of Houston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Gilliam; and sisters, Irene, Bernice, and Adell.

Burial will follow on Friday, February 7, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at Union City Cemetery near Teague,  Texas.

Funeral services by Lakewood Funeral Chapel.

EDWIN COURVILLE

Edwin Courville, age 66, died on Sunday, February 2, 2003 in Livingston,  Texas.

He is the brother of Annie Lee Matt and Laurice Martin of Angleton,  Texas.

A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston,  Texas.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home before and after the rosary.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2003.

ELOISE R. R. LITTLE

Eloise R. Little, 90, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2003, at Brazosport Memorial Hospital in Lake Jackson,  Texas.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. October 1, 2003, at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Lake Jackson, Tx. Interment will follow at Restwood Memorial Park.

Born in Toledo, Ohio, May 12, 1913, she married James G. Little in 1935. They resided in Michigan, Tennessee and finally moved to  Texas and purchased a home in Lake  Jackson in 1946, which was her residence until her passing.

She had many and varied interests including scouting, where she served as a den mother for many years. She supported orphanages in India and American Indian schools in the Northwest by gifts and donations, many of which she obtained at garage sales which she loved to attend. She was an avid collector of sea shells and coral of which she donated a large collection to the Brazosport Museum. She would collect flowers and gifts and distribute them to various hospitals, nursing homes and shut-ins around the Brazosport area. For 40 years, she greeted foreign ships that were harboured in Freeport, Houston, Galveston and Beaumont, making many people feel welcome. She developed many friendships with these people over the years and continued correspondence with them until the time of her passing. She had a longtime desire to travel to India and finally did so in the 1970s where she visited many people she had made friends with over the years.

She was known throughout the area as a loving, caring and generous person who would be the first one to help people in a time of need.

She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years and her sister, Mabel Fister.

She is survived be her sons, James G. Little & wife, Linda, of Menlo Park, California, George F. Little & wife, Diana, of Great Mills, Maryland., grandson, Christopher J. Little & wife, Nina, of Boulder, Colorado; granddaughter, Jennafer C. Little of Lexington Park, Maryland.; a sister, Charlotte Clark of Carbondale Illinois; niece, Janet Loxley of California; nephews, Tom Clark of Ames, Iowa, John R. Eccles of Nederland,  Texas, John & Theresa Mullens & sons Chase, Dylan and Royce, who cared for her in her later years and who were like her family to her.

She is also survived by all of her friends whom she considered to be part of her extended family.

KAYLYN FAITH O'NEAL

Kaylyn Faith O’Neal, 1, of Sweeny,  Texas, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2003, in Sweeny,  Texas.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2003, at the First Baptist Church in Old Ocean with the Reverend Bill Tharp officiating.

Visitation will be held between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2003, at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia,  Texas.

Interment will follow at Sweeny Cemetery in Sweeny,  Texas.

She was the precious baby girl of Russell & Alicia O’Neal, born on Sunday, September 8, 2002, in Galveston,  Texas.

Survivors include her parents, Russell & Alicia O’Neal of Sweeny; brothers, Caleb & Joshua O’Neal of Sweeny; grandparents, Wayman & Karen Hutchings and Rusty & Martha O’Neal; great-grandparents, Pat & Vernon  Whitehead, Jim & Gloria Hutchings and Dorothy O’Neal; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her great-grandpa O’Neal who is playing with his newest angel.

Pallbearers will be

Robert Chancey, Thomas McReynolds, Kenneth Marsh, and Cubby Hill.

CLARA MAE JOHNSON

Clara Mae Johnson, 76, of West Columbia,  Texas, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2003, at Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston,  Texas.

Arrangements are pending with E. Viola & Son Funeral Home in West Columbia,  Texas. (979) 345-3433.

CARROL DEAN WHITE

The angels came and took our “Papa” to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 28, 2003. Family patriarch, Carrol Dean  White, passed away at Kindred Hospital in Houston,  Texas, after a courageous battle with asbestos.

Visitation with the family is Wednesday, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Lakewood Funeral Chapel in Lake Jackson,  Texas.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2003, at  Jones Creek Baptist Church with Brother Brent Pittman officiating.

Graveside services will follow at Restwood Memorial Park in Lake Jackson.

On October 12, 1922, in Huntsville,  Texas, Papa was born into a family of six children to Flora Wyche  White and John Randolph  White. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth Wynell, on January 28, 1946, and moved to Lake  Jackson and then to  Jones Creek in 1960. They have enjoyed a wonderful life together raising three daughters, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He made his career with Dow Chemical, retiring after 38 years of service. He retired a second time after five years of repairing computer equipment for the local school districts.

Papa was a devoted member of the  Jones Creek Baptist Church. He served as a Sunday School teacher, Bible school teacher and director of Training Union. Papa’s love for his family knew no boundaries. His love and kindness will be deeply missed. Papa will always be remembered as a kind soul and gentleman, as well as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, mentor and friend. He was loved by all.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Wynell  White; three daughters, Deana & Tom Gray of Joplin, Missouri, Linda & Richard Singleton of  Jones Creek, and Carla & Knowles Leonard of Lake Jackson; seven grandchildren, Kara & Raymond Gore of Pearland, Zane Gray of Clear Lake, Emily Gray of San Marcos, Jeff & Misty Singleton of Pearland, LeAnn & Brian Bartos of Lake Jackson, Tyson & Michaella Leonard of The Woodlands, and Tiana & Jeffrey Fletes of Jonesboro, Arkansas; eight great-grandchildren, Presley & Parker Carruth of Pearland, Brianna & Bo Bartos of Lake Jackson, Reece Leonard of The Woodlands, and Nicholas Siler, Tasha and James Fletes of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and two brothers, Wilbur  White of  Oklahoma City and Lloyd  White of New Braunfels. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including Don  White and Louis  White of Lake Jackson, Randy  White of Hockley and Dot Wise of San Antonio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Randolph  White and Flora Eliot Wyche  White of Huntsville; brothers, John Eldredge  White and Marion Randolph  White; and sister, Flora Virginia Dean.

Pallbearers are Randy Burnette, Larry Allison, Jerry Danes, Ken Eddleman, Paul Howard and Wilton Searcy.

Honorary pallbearers are the Men’s Sunday School class of  Jones Creek Baptist Church.

EULA MAE THOMPSON

Eula Mae Thompson, 74, of Brazoria,  Texas, died Saturday, September 13, 2003, at Jasper Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2003, at the Dixon Funeral Home Chapel, and from noon to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 18, 2003, at the church. There will be no viewing afterwards.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 18, 2003, at Greater St. Paul Baptist Church in Brazoria,  Texas, with the Reverend K.B. McDonald officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Danciger,  Texas.

She was a member of Greater St. Paul Baptist Church, where she had served as an usher, and member of the Mission Department and Sunday School department.

She is survived by her son, Richard “Ricky” Thompson (Felicia) of Jasper; adopted son, Steven Ray Thompson (Cynthia) of Brazoria; one grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Jacob Tolbert, Randall Haynes, Dusty Haynes, Vernon Jones, Kensley Hunter, Claude Tims and Bobby Mulineaux.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Thompson, Michael Thompson, Gary Paige, Moses Johnson, William Davis, George Davis Jr. and Sylvester Tims.

NANCY LOIS MACK

Nancy Lois Mack, 48, of Lake Jackson,  Texas, died Sunday, September 14, 2003, at Brazosport Memorial Hospital in Lake Jackson,  Texas.

Visitations will be from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2003, at Dixon Funeral Home Chapel in Brazoria,  Texas. Also, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. only on Thursday, September 18, 2003, at First Missionary Baptist Church in Freeport.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2003, at First Missionary Baptist Church in Freeport,  Texas, with Dr. J.V. Williams officiating.

Burial will follow at Peaceful Rest Cemetery in Brazoria,  Texas.

She is survived by her husband, Robert D. Mack, Lake Jackson; father, Shepard Clark Jr. (Mable) of Lake Jackson; two sons, Brandon D. Mack of Houston, Bradlee C. Mack of Lake Jackson; daughter, Brittney J. Mack of Lake Jackson; brother, Kenneth R. Grovey, Houston; sister, Bonnie R. Clark of Sweeny; and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Darnell Mack, Curtis Phillips, Phillip Ward, Wilbert Hall, the Rev. Horace Lemon and Larry D. Bell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Vernon Mack, Brandon Mack, Bradlee C. Mack, Kenneth Grovey, Jerry Harris, Shepard Clark Jr., Isaac Clark, Shep Clark, John Wright Jr. and Jeff Clark.

WANDA MARZELL HOLMES

Wanda Marzell Holmes, 61, of Lake Jackson,  Texas passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at UTMB in Galveston,  Texas.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 19, 2003 at Lighthouse Baptist Mission in Lake Jackson,  Texas with Dan Baugh officiating.

She was born October 31, 1941 in  Oklahoma City,  Oklahoma.

Survivors include, parents, Oliver W. & Thelma Holmes of Norman,  Oklahoma; sons, Travis Smith of Lake Jackson, Troy & Tina Smith of Dallas; brothers, Oliver W. Holmes Jr. & wife, Judy, of Chocktaw,  Oklahoma, George Holmes & wife, Karla, of New Castle,  Oklahoma, Donald Holmes & wife, Debbie, of Edmond,  Oklahoma; sister, Janacine Rogers of Nashville, Tennessee; two granddaughters, Nakeda Leveskue and Heather Smith; grandson, Christopher Carpenter, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
