Arnold A. (Mac) MacLean, 82, of Lake Jackson, Texas passed away Monday, September 22, 2003 at Brazosport Memorial Hospital.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2003 at Lakewood Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2003 at the First United Methodist Church in Lake Jackson, Texas with the Reverend Charles Geller officiating.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Mac moved to the Brazosport area in 1954. Mac was city manager of Lake Jackson for 35 years.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary F. Watson MacLean of Lake Jackson; two children, Steve MacLean & wife, Debbie, of Atlanta, Georgia, Kathy Ragsdale & husband, Shane, of Weir; three grandchildren, Steve Ragsdale & wife, Casey, Shannon MacLean, Connor MacLean; one-great grandson, Lane Ragsdale; sister, Patricia Thorne & husband, Robert, of Peabody, Massachusetts.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Alfred MacLean.

Theopal Woodard, 90, of Angleton, Texas passed away Saturday, September 20, 2003, at Country Village Care of Angleton, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents Navy & Ella Ryland and husband, John B. Woodard.

ROSE ANN Parker GRAHAM
Rose Ann Parker Graham, 63, of Brazoria, Texas, passed away Monday, September 22, 2003, at Woodlake Nursing Home in Clute, Texas.
Rose was born July 20, 1940 to Brice and Polly Lucario in Houston, Texas. Rose grew up and attended school in Houston. She moved to various places and settled in Arkansas for 25 years. She returned to Brazoria, Texas in 2000. She is a member of Jones Creek Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by her husband, Reecy C. Graham of Brazoria; step-father, Garlan Oliver of San Antonio; five children, Michelle Brewer of Houston, Robert Oliver & wife, Christie, of Onalaksa, Lisa De Jean & husband, Dwayne, of Little Rock, Arkansas, Gina Kinney & husband, Christopher, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi and Stephen Parker of St. Petersburg, Florida; and 16 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Morris and Samuel Lucario.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 26, 2003, at the Lakewood Funeral Chapel in Lake Jackson, Texas.

Shirley Faye Menard died September 19, 2003, in Texas City, Texas.
She was born August 26, 1942, in Galveston, Texas, to Sherwood and Lysta Wattengel of Texas City, Texas.
She is survived by her mother, Lysta Wattengel of Texas City; husband, Charles Lee Menard of Clute; brothers Jerry, Billy and Bobby Wattengel; children Cherllyn, Crystal and Cirk Camfield; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; niece, nephews and many caring friends.

James Thomas, “J.T.” Kennemer, 81, of West Columbia, Texas, left this world to be with Jesus on Wednesday, September 24, 2003.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Stella Kennemer; four children, Harley Kennemer of West Columbia; Connie Bowers & husband, Rodney, of Manvel; Rocky Kennemer of Cypress; and Bryan Kennemer & wife, Kemberly, of Friendswood; six loving grandchildren, Courtney, Brandon and Brent Bowers of Manvel; Kathryn, Jessica and Matthew Kennemer of Friendswood; two brothers, Everet Kennemer & wife, Edna, of West Columbia, Kenneth Kennemer & wife, Lorraine, of New Braunfels; sister-in-law Martha Kennemer of Brazoria; close cousin, Herbet Fleming & wife, Martha, of Kilgore, and numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Enoch Everet and Minnie Kennemer; two brothers, George Kennemer and Harley Kennemer; three sisters, Gertie Treat, Ethel Reynolds and Jean Stoudt.
J.T. was born on March 4, 1922, in Burr, Texas, and grew up in Damon before moving to West Columbia where he lived with his wife and family for nearly 60 years. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard in World War II. Most notably, he was a longtime member of the West Columbia Volunteer Fire Department, where he proudly served as fire chief and the original director of the West Columbia CEMS. He retired from the Texas-New Mexico Power Company in 1987 after 44 years of employment. He was a parish member of St. John’s Catholic Church in West Columbia where he served on their building committee.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, coaching little league baseball and many other activities that brought him outdoors. Spending time with family and friends brought joy to his life. J.T. Kennemer was a loving husband and father and all those who knew him respected him as a kind, honest, faithful man.
Pallbearers will be Everet Kennemer III, Darrell Kennemer, James Kennemer, Brent Bowers, Brandon Bowers and Allen LeBlanc.
Honorary pallbearers will be the West Columbia Fire Department, Mattson-Ringgold American Legion Post 503, Dr. Roy Ledbetter, Willard Crabb, Randy Gilbert and Terry McKinney.

Delbert Warren Walters Jr., of Freeport, Texas went to a better life Wednesday, September 24, 2003. He was better known by family and friends as Bubba. All who knew Bubba will always remember a man who had a smile and kind words for everyone.

He was born on October 6, 1948, and was 54 years old. Living his lifetime in Freeport, Bubba being a sportsman at heart loved nothing more than hooking big redfish and flounders at the secret hole, or deer hunting with his dad and brother.
His pain and suffering was the only reason for his early retirement from Prime Equipment last year, where he was a heavy equipment mechanic.
Bubba was preceded in death by his parents, Red & Helen Walters, his brother, Benny Eugene Walters, and sister, Beverly Ann Matthews.
Survivors include wife, Jan Bell Walters, of Freeport; sons, Jason C. McCaffety & Sheila of Brazoria, Joshua A. McCaffety & Leslie of Lake Charles, Louisiana; grandson, Gage T. McCaffety of Brazoria; friend and mother-in-law, Faye Bell of Jones Creek; sisters, Jenny Judice and Kathy Walters of Freeport; brother-in-law, Michael Matthews of Lake Jackson; special buddy, Larry Green; grandfather, Eugene Monte; nieces, Mindy Valusek & Darrell of Iowa Colony, Cindy Nesmith & Darren of Lake Jackson, Toby Porter and Lester of Huntsville; nephew, Corky Eugene Reyna of Freeport; great-nieces and nephew, Hope Matthews, Hannah Valusek and Mason Nesmith; aunts, Mary Dee Griffith, Rosetta Frudensprung, and Orene Ballard; and numerous cousins and friends.

LOUISA ELIZABETH GRAHAM LOWERY
Louisa Elizabeth Graham Lowery died Friday, September 26, 2003, in Clute, Texas.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2003, at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia with the Rev. Debbie Measells officiating.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2003, at Baker Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Sweeny Cemetery.
She was born November 13, 1913, in Bay City, Texas, to George Jefferson & Leslie Presley.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Tom B. (Judge) Lowery in 1989; their son, Graham Ervin Lowery in 1943; her parents; and two brothers, Jack and Prep Graham.
She is survived by two daughters, Martha Webb, Susan Lowery, both of Sweeny; three grandsons, Preston & Venka Webb of Sweeny, Stewart & Candace Webb and Ronald & Kellee Webb of Houston; four great-grandchildren, Waylon Schultz and Nikki Webb of Sweeny, Mia and Dane Webb of Houston; brother, Shep Graham of Bay City; sisters-in-law, Lola Lowery, Mary Loomis; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
A lifetime Presbyterian, she was baptized and confirmed in 1923 in the First Presbyterian Church of Bay City. She was a charter member of the First Presbyterian Church in Old Ocean an was very active in the organization of the Church. She was a current member of the First Presbyterian Church in Brazoria. Although failing health kept her from being an active participant in her church, she remained faithful to her beliefs.
Louisa was the first president of the Sweeny Chapter of AARP and helped with its organization, and she served in many capacities. She was instrumental in the organization of the Sweeny AARP Kitchen Band, which performed for several years bringing smiles to many in the area nursing homes and other groups. She volunteered for many years as a pink lady at the Sweeny Community Hospital before her health required her to resign.
Pallbearers will be Earl Hassell, Carey Phillips, James McReynolds, Doug Bailey, David Fillip and Monty Boyd.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Sweeny EMS and Robin Freshour.
