RUBY DEE STOCKMAN WEBSTER

Ruby Dee Stockman Webster, 86, of Victoria,  Texas, passed away on March 23, 2004, in Victoria,  Texas.

She was born April 19, 1917, in Lampasas,  Texas.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2004, at  Jones Creek Baptist Church in  Jones Creek,  Texas.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2004, and from noon until 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2004, at  Jones Creek,  Texas, with the Reverend Brent Pittman officiating.

Burial will be at Restwood Cemetery in Lake Jackson,  Texas.

Pallbearers will be Dee Webster, Jay Webster, Bruce Webster, Gary Wayne Webster, Travis Ernst, Lee Ezell, Jerry Swoboda and Phil Teinert.

She was active in W.M.U. and Pink Ladies and a member of  Jones Creek Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, P.T. Webster; her father, Duward Jeptha Stockman; and mother, Holly Iva Traweek Stockman; son, Randy Webster; two sisters; and four brothers.

Survivors include her daughter, JoAnn & Elwood Ernst of Victoria; daughter-in-law, Deeanna Webster of Seguin; son, Gary and Jeannene Webster of Lake Jackson; and special caregivers, Joyce Rocha and Gloria DeLaGarza; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

Memorial may be made to the Hospice of South  Texas,  Jones Creek Baptist Church or Donors Choice.

ROSALIO S. (BENNY) DAMIAN JR.

Rosalio S. (Benny) Damian Jr., 69, of Freeport,  Texas, was raised by the Holy Spirit into Heaven, the Tabernacle of the Lord God Almighty, by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 20, 2004.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2004, with a “Homecoming Celebration Service” from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Lakewood Funeral Chapel with the Pastor Rudy Lara, Jr. officiating.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 25, 2004, at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Freeport,  Texas, with Father Sanchez officiating.

Interment will follow at Restwood Memorial Park.

Benny was born on February 13, 1935, at the Freeport Hospital in Freeport,  Texas, to Rosalio Sr. and Petra Soria Damian. He was raised in the Catholic Church in Freeport,  Texas. In his early years he worked in the fishing and shrimping industry. After this he went to work for the Dow Chemical Company for 23 years, and was a member of Union Local 564. Benny was also a one-time member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3365. Benny was a loving son, father, husband, brother and friend to everyone who walked into his life.

He is survived by three children, Joe L. Damian & wife, Sarah, of Clute, Arnold J. Damian Sr. & wife, Billie, of Freeport, Lydia Ramirez & husband, Jesse, of Freeport; nine grandchildren, Christopher S. Damian, Jacob A. Damian, Marcus A. Ramirez, Maxwell E. Damian, Jesse L. Ramirez, Arnold John Damian Jr., Gabriel E. Ramirez, Sarah A. Damian, Benjamin M. Damian; two great-granddaughters, Victoria and Alexis Damian; one sister, Helen Montiel & husband, Robert Sr., of Freeport; three brothers, George Damian & wife, Minnie, of Freeport, Leon Damian Sr. of Galveston, Sidney Damian & wife, Margaret, of Freeport; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Marie Lara Damian; his parents, Rosalio Sr. and Petra Soria Damian; and a loving sister, Lucy Damian.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Damian, Maxwell Damian, Marcus Ramirez, Michael Damian, George Montiel, and Sidney Damian Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you if I go and prepare a place, I will come again and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know. Thomas said unto him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come unto the Father, except by me.” John 14: 1-6.

LONNIE EARL WRIGHT SR.

Lonnie Earl Wright Sr., 60, of Damon,  Texas, died on Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at Sweeny Community Hospital.

Services are pending with Baker Funeral Home of West Columbia,  Texas.

JOYCE FOX  Jackson FONTENOT

Joyce Fox  Jackson Fontenot, 81, of Lake Jackson,  Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at Brazosport Memorial Hospital.

Joyce was born February 20, 1923, in Foreman, Arkansas, to Eulice and Zella Fox.

Member of community since 1957, and was a member of Southern Oaks Church of Christ.

She is survived by her children, Jerry  Jackson and wife, Linda, of Loveland, Colorado, Edna Hancock-Varner and husband, Mark, of Brazoria, Mike  Jackson of Lake  Jackson and Virginia Baughn of De Queen, Arkansas; stepsons, Steven and Rodney Fontenot of Lake Jackson, Chris Fontenot of Waco, Allen Fontenot of Knoxville, Tennessee; brother, Earl Fox of Angleton; sister, Georgia Bowman of Pearland; special friend and caretaker, Irene Deckert; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands John Jackson, Walter Evans and Leroy B. Fontenot; son, John Edward Jackson; brother, Grady Fox; sister, Floyce Haggard; and granddaughter, Carol Yoakum.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Lakewood Funeral Chapel with Brother James Rodgers officiating.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lakewood Funeral Chapel.

DAVE YOUNG

Funeral services for Dave Young, 53, of Pearland,  Texas, formerly of Cedar Lake, will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2004, at Bethlehem Christian Church in Cedar Lake,  Texas, with the Reverend Kenneth Bree officiating.

Burial will be at Bethlehem Christian Cemetery in Cedar Lake .

He died Saturday, March 20, 2004, at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston,  Texas. He was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church and was under watch care at Windsor Village in Houston. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #988.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Young of Pearland; son, Everett M. Jared Young of Pearland; five brothers, Richard Woodard, Joe Young (Delia) all of Cedar Lake, John Young III (Shirley), Jimmy Young (Latifah) all of Houston, Larry Young (Shelida) of Brazoria; three sisters, Dorothy Pharms, Ollie Young, Lillie B. Young all of Houston; mother-in-law, Luevella Harris of Sulphur Springs; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Andre’ Young, Jonathan Young, Jaquail Young, Roland Woodard, Charles Pharms, Jerome Brown, Mark Young and Stanley Harris.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jared Young, Richard Woodard, John Young III, Jimmy Young, Joe Young and Larry Young.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2004, at Dixon Funeral Home and again from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2004, at Bethlehem Christian Church. There will be no viewing afterward.

RONALD JOE GRIFFIN

Ronald Joe Griffin, 41, born on November 17, 1962, of Sweeny,  Texas, died on Saturday, March 20, 2004, in Sweeny,  Texas.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Sweeny Cemetery, in Sweeny,  Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Joy Finley Griffin, of Sweeny; two brothers, Donald Griffin of Broken Bow,  Oklahoma, and Larry Lyons of Danbury; four sisters, Tina Hoskins (Eric Hoskins), Kimberly Hall (Marvin Hall) and Brenda Lyons, all of Angleton, and Linda Green of Vidor; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made in Ron’s name to the charity of your choice.

LOIS IONE (RATLIFF) NALL

Lois Ione (Ratliff) Nall, age 74, died Monday, March 22, 2004, at a Yukon hospital after a short illness.

She was born September 19, 1929, in Cisco,  Texas, to Rueben Albert and Tennie E. VanZandt Ratliff.

She grew up in Jal, New Mexico, and had lived most of her adult life in Lubbock,  Texas. She had worked many years at  Texas Instruments before retiring in the late 1980s.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Gene, Joe and Louis Lynn.

Survivors include three sons, Jerry LaSalle and wife, Choralen, of Nocona, Rubin LaSalle of El Reno,  Oklahoma, Andy LaSalle and wife, Rita, of Clute, and a special friend, Charlie Ledbetter. Also by one daughter, Judy Dillard and husband, Clint, of Plano; 10 grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; two brothers, Fred and John Woods; two sisters, Lillie Wafford and Tennie Goen.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to one’s favorite charity.

Visitation was from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at McNeil’s Mustang Funeral Service in Mustang,  Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 26, 2004, at Wilson’s Restlawn Funeral Home, Wolfforth,  Texas.

Cruz Soria Martinez, 76, of Angleton,  Texas, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Cypress  Woods Care Center in Angleton,  Texas.

Funeral services are pending with Palms Funeral Home in Angleton,  Texas.

RUBY DEE STOCKMAN WEBSTER

Ruby Dee Stockman Webster, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2004.

She was born on April 19, 1917, in Lampasas,  Texas, to the late Iva and Durwood Stockman. She was a homemaker and faithful member of the  Jones Creek Baptist Church for many years. Her life was centered around her children and grandchildren. She was known for her baking and especially her chocolate pie.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, P.T. Webster, in 1988; and her son, Randy Webster, in 2002.

She is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann Ernst and husband, Ellwood, of Victoria; son, Gary Webster and wife, Jeannene, of Lake Jackson; and daughter-in-law, Deanna Webster of Sequin. She is also survived by grandchildren, Jamie Ezell and husband, Lee, Traci Swobodoa and husband, Jerry, Dee Webster, Terry Teinert and husband, Phil, Gary Wayne Webster and wife, Pam, Jay Webster, Travis Ernst & wife, Jennifer, and Bruce Webster and wife, Dametria; 13 great-grandchildren; and special care-givers, Joyce Rocha and Gloria DeLaGarza.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 25, 2004, from noon to 2:00 p.m. at the  Jones Creek Baptist Church, with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the church.

Burial will follow in Restwood Cemetery in Clute,  Texas, under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Victoria,  Texas.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons and grandsons-in-law.

JACK DOUGLAS MORLAN

Jack D. Morlan, 84, of Richwood,  Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Brazosport Memorial Hospital.

Jack was born on June 28, 1919, in Medicine Lodge, Kansas, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, serving three and one half years as a P.O.W. in Japan and in the Philippines. He was a retired game warden with the  Texas Parks and Wildlife and served as a deacon at Brazosport Baptist Temple in Angleton,  Texas.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2004, at Stroud Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2004, at First Baptist Church in Clute,  Texas, with Pastors Alan Stovall and Rodney Coates officiating.

Interment will follow at Restwood Memorial Park.

He was preceded in death by his son, Quentin Morlan.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Glenna Morlan; son, Milton Morlan; three grandsons, Shawn Morlan and wife, Kim, Zane Morlan and wife, Rosa, Jay Morlan; two great-granddaughters, Chris Morlan and Leslie Morlan; and one great-grandson, Carl Morlan; one sister, Neva Onstot; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Royce Wood, Don McQueen, Jeff McQueen, Shawn Morlan, Zane Morlan and Jay Morlan.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Men’s Sunday School Class of Brazosport Baptist Temple.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the parking lot fund at Brazosport Baptist Temple.
