Charles Elmo Holder
Charles Elmo Holder, 87, died at his Quintana home on December 7, 2007. He had enjoyed his five years on the island, where he fished and always welcomed his friends.
Elmo was born in Gilmer, Texas. He attended schools in the Gilmer area before serving in the Merchant Marines in World War II. He then worked in a variety of oil and gas production settings in Texas, Canada, Wyoming and Florida.
He is preceded in death by Robbie Holder, his beloved wife of 52 years. Also preceding him in death are two sisters, Fay and Helen.
Elmo is survived by a daughter, Gloria Wiggins of Keystone, Colorado; and two sons, Mike Holder of Uvalde, Texas, and Lee Holder of Clute, Texas. He also is survived by three brothers, Rex Holder of Longview, Texas, Cecil Holder of Longview, Texas, and Ray Holder of Mesquite, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Mr. Holder’s home on Thursday, December 13, at 1:00 p.m.

Kade Alan Wohleber
Kade Alan Wohleber, 12, of Lake Jackson, Texas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 9th, 2007. He was born June 28, 1995, in Lake Jackson, Texas.
Kade was preceded in death by uncle, Daniel Owen Wohleber; grandfather, David Oscar Wohleber Sr.; and great-great-grandmother, Oma Houser.
He is survived by his parents, David and Ingrid Wohleber; and brothers, Drew and Pierce Wohleber of Lake Jackson, Texas; grandparents, Lyndel and Charlie Kodesch of Lake Jackson; grandfather, Jack Singleton of Angleton; grandmother, Phyllis Wohleber of Richwood; great-grandparents, Marion and Davy Green of Lake Jackson; uncle, Blaine Moritz and wife, Mary, of Lake Jackson; great uncle, Mark Coughlin and wife, Bonnie, of Lake Jackson; great aunt, Shelly Minnitti and husband, John, of Tyler; and numerous cousins, Tristin, Cameron, Amber, Anthony, Heather, Tyler and Colton.
Kade was energetic and loved being outdoors. He loved people and left his mark on all of our lives. He was fearless in life and in his faith. His deep love for God, for his family and for his friends defined his life. His compassion from others was evident and touched all whom he encountered. Kade was a member of Family Life Church, where he was known and greatly loved. It often is in the words of a child that we find our comfort. His brother Pierce, age 3 simply said, “Heaven will fix him and he will be back.” Kade will truly be missed, but never forgotten.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 13, 2007, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Family Life Church in Lake Jackson, Texas.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 14, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at Family Life Church, the Rev. Craig Taylor officiating.
Burial will follow in the Restwood Cemetery.

Minnie Lucille Smith
Minnie Lucille Smith of Freeport, Texas, has been called home to be with the Lord. She passed away December 9, 2007.
Lucille was a loving mother and is survived by four children. They are Dennis Brister of Freeport, Texas, Donna Owens and husband, Kelly, of Anna, Texas, Vickie Charrier and husband, Robert, of Sanger, Texas, and Keith Brister and wife, Stephanie, of Howe, Texas.
She also is survived by seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and her brother, Rusty Wishard and wife, Marion, of Brazoria, Texas.
Her memorial will be held at Oyster Creek First Baptist Church, 123 Oyster Creek Bend, at 2:00 p.m. on December 15, 2007.

Timothy Grovey III
Funeral services for Timothy Grovey III, 29, will be Friday, December 14, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Brazoria with Pastor L.D. Griggs Sr. officiating.
Interment will follow at Paradise Memorial Cemetery in Brazoria, Texas.
Timothy Grovey III (Tim) was born on August 22, 1978, the handsome and beloved son of Jessie Jean Helm and the late Timothy Grovey Jr. He was a radiant young man who loved life and the people in it.
As a young child, he surrendered his heart to the Lord and was baptized at the Magnolia Baptist Church under Bishop Edmond Baker Sr. In his teen years, he united with the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and grew in the nurture and admonition of God under the pastoral leadership of the Rev. Larry D. Griggs Sr.
Tim was formally educated in the Sweeny Independent School District, where he was well-known for his athletic talents. While he endeavored in football, track and baseball, his true passion was basketball. With commanding style and grace, his ability to skillfully maneuver up and down the hardwood earned him several athletic scholarships. After his graduation from Sweeny High School in May 1997, he used these awards to further manifest his love of the game at the collegiate level. Tim showcased his skills at Grayson County College in Denison, Texas; Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, TX; and at Murray State College in Tishimingo, Oklahoma. He continued his devotion to his pastime by playing in celebrity games, tournaments and pick-up games as often as he could.
On Sunday, December 9, 2007, a new chapter in Tim’s life began as he traded the cares and worries of this life for eternal rest. A lasting imprint forever will be left on the hearts and lives of the many persons whose paths he crossed with his exuberant, cheery personality and charismatic smile.
Timothy leaves to celebrate the memory of his life a devoted, caring mother, Jessie Jean Helm of Van Vleck, Texas; two loving grandmothers, Ermer Lee Grovey of Sweeny, Texas, and Nettie Lee Helm of Brazoria, Texas; one daughter, Coryn G. Grovey of Temple, Texas; two sisters, Senecia Saveat (Rodney) of Beaumont, Texas, and Charmin Simien (Tracy) of Pearland, Texas; three nieces, Jasmine Wright, Trasee Simien and C’Tena Simien, all of Pearland, Texas; three nephews, Derek R. Broussard of Beaumont, Texas, and Casey Simien and Trey Simien of Pearland, Texas; four cherished aunts, Vesta Austin of Brazoria, Texas, Verna Guerin, Bertha Stredic and Eunice Washington, all of Houston, Texas; two uncles, Weldon Grovey (Marva) of Bedford, Texas, and George E. Helm Jr. (Lucille) of Lake Jackson, Texas; special cousin, Wendell Guerin of Houston, Texas; four great aunts, one great uncle and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 13, 2007, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria.
A wake will follow from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
There will be viewing on Friday, December 14, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. only. There will be no viewing afterward.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Billy Parrack
Billy Parrack passed away peacefully at home on December 9, 2007, surrounded by family.
Billy is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Charlene Pond, of West Columbia. His children include David Parrack of Brazoria, Jeff and Mary Parrack of Fort Worth, Charla and Steven Cloudt of Lake Jackson, and Dianna and Neal Smith of Trinity; brother, B.H. Parrack and wife, Nancy, of Alvin; sister, Norma Scott of Mobile, Alabama; and his grandchildren, Christi Parrack, Erica Pellin, Billy Parrack, John Parrack, Megan Parrack, Katherine Parrack, Caroline Parrack, Ryan and Stephanie Cloudt Nagele, Andrew Cloudt, Jason Merchant, Bobby Thomas, Spencer Thomas and Sierra Beforest. He also has six great-grandsons; his best friend, Abe Stevens; and two special four-legged friends, Bingo and Annie Mae.
Billy was born in Ingram, Texas, on November 24, 1931, to Henry and Alta Lee Parrack. He and Charlene grew up together in West Columbia, dated and married after high school. Billy served in the Air Force during the Korean War, was the proud owner of Parrack Marine in West Columbia in his early years and later worked at Dow as a maintenance superintendent.
Billy was an outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. He and Charlene also have wonderful memories of their Wagon Train days in Texas and Wyoming. Many a car in Wild Peach had the pleasure of seeing Billy driving his buggy. He was so proud of building his wagon and later driving it in the 1986 Texas Sesquicentennial Wagon Train. He also was proud of his pond and raising catfish and bass. His grandkids and many of their friends spent hours fishing in that pond.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Billy’s name to the Columbia United Methodist Church Food Pantry or to the SPCA of Lake Jackson.
The family extends a special thank you to IPH Hospice nurses Nikkie and Laverne and PHS aides Roxanne and Yolanda.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, December 12, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia.
The celebration of Billy’s life will be Thursday, December 13, at 11:00 a.m. at Columbia United Methodist Church in West Columbia. Billy was a blue jeans-and-boots kind of guy, so family and friends are encouraged to come casual — he won’t be wearing a coat and tie and he wouldn’t want others to either!
Pallbearers are John Parrack, Andrew Cloudt, Ryan Nagele, Monty Pond, Bob McCormack, Chris Parrack, Jerry Langner and Wayne Davenport.
Honorary pallbearers are Abe Stevens, Kenneth Varnado, Bruce McCray, Tommy Kingrea, Morris Cloudt, Greg Parrack, Brian Parrack, Houston Langner, Joseph Langner and Anthony Langner.

Elnora G. Salinas
Elnora Salinas, 82, of Angleton passed away at her residence Saturday, December 8, 2007.
Elonora was born to Emilio and Juanita Garza on May 28, 1925, in Edna, Texas.
She was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Guadalupe Society.
Mrs. Salinas is survived by her husband of 65 years, Eloy Salinas; son, Joe G. Salinas; daughters, Mable Salinas and Rose Marie Garza, all of Angleton; brothers, Lawarence Garza of Angleton and Frank Garza of Port Lavaca, and sisters, Angie Flores and Jacinta Santellana, of Angleton; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass for Elnora will be held at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Angleton on Wednesday, December 12, 2007, at 10:00 a.m.
Visitation was Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home with a Christian wake held at 6:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Nelson Ward, Adrian Garza, Patrick Lee Batts, Stephen Salinas, Curtis Benjamin Toombs and Andrew Salinas.
The family would like to thank the Hospice Care Team for their help and support.

Edgar Emerson
Services for Edgar Emerson age 83, of Elkhart will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Dr. Betty Wilson officiating.
Burial will follow in Pilgrim Cemetery.

Mr. Emerson died Sunday at Palestine Regional Medical Center. He was born in Anderson County, March 27, 1924, to Joseph and Pearl Emerson. Mr. Emerson worked as an accountant for Phillips Petroleum. He served in the U.S. Navy and he was a member of the Family of Faith Church.
Mr. Emerson was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Florence Henderson Emerson in March 2007; three sisters, Marie Claborn, Gene Lingo and Rosilie Simmons; and one brother, J.D. Emerson.
He is survived by daughters, Pam Bell and husband, Johnnie, Anna Orsack Miller and husband, Jerry; son, Michael Orsak; sister, Anna Lee Blaha; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Condolence calls will be received from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home, Palestine.
