E.M. "MORRIS" HUMPHREY
February 3rd, 2005

Morris Humphrey, 81, of Andrews passed away Thursday, February 3, 2005 at Crane Memorial Hospital in Crane,  Texas.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday at Second Baptist Church in Andrews. Rev. Ivy Shelton will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews West Cemetery.

Morris was born May 7, 1923 in Mire,  Louisiana. He married Virgie Elizabeth Cornett June 27, 1942 in Texarkana,  Texas. They moved to Andrews in 1958 from Odessa. He worked in the Oil field for many years and was a Mechanic for Sears.

He was a member of Second Baptist Church, He loved to work and he really loved to work with his old tractor.

He was preceded in death by his wife Virgie Humphrey in 2001.

He is Survived by Two Sons- Don Humphrey of Cameron,  Texas and Mack Humphrey of Aztec, NM; 4- Grandchildren and 7-Great-Grandchildren.

DOROTHY "DOT" PINNELL
February 1st, 2005

Funeral services for Dorothy "Dot" Pinnell, 77 of Andrews will be 2:00 PM Friday, February 4, 2005 in Means Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Doyle, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews Old Cemetery.

She died Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.

She was born on December 13, 1927 in El Dorado, Arkansas. She graduated from Andrews High School in 1944 and attended  Texas Women's University. She married Billy Hart "Bill" Pinnell on May 10, 1946 in Andrews. She had been very involved in the Andrews County 4-H, and she was a licensed pilot. Her husband preceded her in death on March 22, 1999. She was a homemaker and a member of Means Memorial United Methodist Church in Andrews.

She is survived by her daughter: Judy Crabtree and husband Larry of Vernon; 2 sons: Brent Pinnell of Andrews and Paul Pinnell of Dallas; 2 sisters: Kay Condren of Miami,  Oklahoma and Cindy Duncan of Fairfield; and 2 grandchildren: Ross Crabtree of Dallas and Lori Crabtree of Carrollton.

WILLIAM 'BILL' MONROE CHAMBERS
January 31st, 2005

Graveside services for William "Bill" Monroe Chambers, 77, of Andrews will be 2:00 PM Thursday, February 3, 2005 in the Andrews North Cemetery with Rev. Ted Short, Pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Andrews, officiating.

He died Monday, January 31, 2005 at Midland Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 8, 1927 in May  Texas to Monroe Chambers and Nora Fannie Bibby Chambers. He graduated from Williams High School in 1944, and he served in the US Navy during WWII. He married Lajuana Stone on January 1, 1949 in Williams,  Texas. They moved to Andrews in 1955 from May. He had worked for Midland Independent School District in the mail room and warehouse. He worked for the County of Andrews from 1974 - 1992 as groundskeeper for Florey Park.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and 3 sisters: Iola Vivden, Nona Pitzer, and Thelma Chambers.

He is survived by his wife: Lajuana Chambers of Andrews; 3 sons: Randy Chambers of Palestine, James Chambers of Midland, and Ronnie Chambers of Andrews; daughter: Sharon Chambers of Midland; brother: Jimmie Chambers of San Angelo; sister: Mattie Mae Lamkin of Henderson; 3 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.

ORBIE LEE WADE
January 29th, 2005

ARNOLD "RUSTY" RAY COMBS
January 28th, 2005

All funeral services for Arnold "Rusty" Ray Combs, 71, of Big Spring will be handled by Nalley-Pickle-Welch Funeral Home, 906 South Gregg Street, Big Spring,  Texas 79721. Phone (432) 267-6331

RAY F. FLOWE
January 26th, 2005

Funeral services for Ray F. Flowe, 85, of Andrews will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2005 at Calvary Baptist Church in Andrews with Dr. Jeff Donnell, Pastor of First Baptist Church in Andrews, officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery.

Family will receive friends on Friday, January 28, 2005 at McNett Funeral Home from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

Ray passed away surrounded by family Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at Midland Memorial Hospital.

He was born February 2, 1919 in Mt. Vernon,  Texas to Annie and Fred Flowe. During World War II, he served in the European Theater in the U.S. Army's 36th Division. He married Doris Guthrie on January 31, 1948 in Midland. They moved to Andrews in 1967 from Odessa. He retired as an administrative supervisor from Getty Oil after 41 years with the company. He was a member of the Goldsmith Masonic Lodge #1276 and Order of the Eastern Star in Midland #253. He faithfully served the Lord throughout his life as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife: Doris Flowe of Andrews; son: Randolph Flowe of Andrews; daughter: Rita Flowe Hamilton and husband David of Dallas; brother: Billy Jack Flowe of Dallas; brother: Wayne Edwin Flowe of Houston; sister: Irene McFerron of Des Moines, Iowa; and grandson: Zachary Chase Hamilton of Dallas.

His sweet spirit will live on forever in the hearts of the many he touched and who are now waiting to join him. Our beloved husband, father, and friend will be greatly missed.

WILLIE ELIZABETH FERGUSON
January 20th, 2005

Willie Elizabeth Ferguson, 102, of Andrews passed away Thursday, January 20, 2005 at Permian Residentual Care Center in Andrews.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Saturday January 22, 2005 at Andrews Old Cemetery. Rev. Ted M. Short, Pastor of Grace Baptist Church will officiate.

She was born February 16, 1902 in Ardmore,  Oklahoma. She married Robert F. Ferguson May 25, 1920 in Colgate,  Oklahoma. They moved to Andrews in 1965 from Midland. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She loved to play Cards and Wa-hoo. Willie enjoyed trips to Ruidoso, and she loved Church and singing.

She was preceded in death by: Husband- Robert F. Ferguson, Sr. in 1975; Her Three Children- Edith Ferguson in 1928: Artie Juanita Wright in 1999; and Robert F. Ferguson, Jr. in 2003; and One Grandchild and One Great-Grandchild.

She is Survived by Son-in-law- James Wirght of Andrews; and Five Grandchildren- James C. Wright, Jr. and Deborah Gaston both of Andrews, Robert Ferguson of Austin; Patty Belisle of Austin and Diane McCurdy of Ruidoso, NM. and 18 Great-Grandchildren and 10 Great-Great Grandchildren.

AVIS FICK
January 16th, 2005

Avis Fick, 71, of Andrews passed away Sunday January 16, 2005 at her home.

Funeral Services will be 4:00 PM Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at Faith Lutheran Church in Andrews. Pastor Dean Kelm will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Avis was born October 28, 1933 in Cushing,  Oklahoma. She married Melvin Fick February 14, 1953 in Cushing. They moved to Andrews in 1957 from Odessa. She was a homemaker. She was a devoted worker in the Lutheran Church. She was a Ombudsman for many years and loved to visit people in the Nursing homes in Andrews and Odessa. She loved to camp, fish and hunt and she enjoyed crafts.

She is survived by: Husband- Melvin Fick of Andrews, Son- Daren Fick of Odessa and Twin Sister- Mavis Robison, of Ponca City,  Oklahoma.

LOUANN REX
January 13th, 2005

Services for LouAnn Rex 79 of Andrews will be 2:00 PM Sunday January 16, 2005 in Means Memorial United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Rick Doyle, pastor of Means Methodist. Burial will follow in the Andrews West Cemetery.

LouAnn died Thursday, January 13, 2005 in Permian Regional Medical Center. She was born September 6, 1925 in New Castle,  Pennsylvania. She married Glenn J. Rex on February 14, 1948 in Waynesburg,  Pennsylvania. LouAnn was a member of the Means Memorial United Methodist Church, Beta Sigma Phi, Craft Circle of Means Methodist and the Andrews Bridge Club. She was a retired Librarian assistant for the Andrews Schools system.

Survivors include: sons Jim L. & wife Patricia Rex of Andrews, Rusty & wife Denise Rex of Stillwater,  Oklahoma, daughter Susan & husband Michael Waldmann of Andrews and six grandchildren; Ryan Rex of Irwin,  Texas; Rusty Rex of Andrews, Dustin Rex of Andrews, Caitlyn Rex of Stillwater,  Oklahoma, Miranda Rex of Andrews, Ethan Rex of Stillwater,  Oklahoma. One grandchild preceded LouAnn in death, Lynsey Waldmann on March 1, 2000.
