WILLIE H. McCAIN
September 8, 2005

Willie H. McCain, 67, of Andrews passed away Thursday September 8, 2005 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday September 13, 2005 at Calvary Baptist Church in Andrews. Rev. Hezekiah Lewis form Odessa, Rev. Julius Brooks of Midland and Rev. Ted Short of Andrews, will officiate. Burial will be in the Andrews North Cemetery.

Mr. McCain was born June 8, 1938 in Lubbock,  Texas. He played Quarterback at Blackshear High School in Odessa and graduated from Blackshear in 1957. He went to Butler College in Waco on a football scholarship and played quarterback there. He married Mary Brown on April 9, 1991 in Andrews.
He loved to Cook and read. He loved all kinds of sports like golf, football, and tennis. His favorite thing was to take his grandchildren out for a snow cone. He also like to pass on his life experiences and knowledge he had gained to others. He was preceded in death by his Father - Willie McCain and a Daughter - Patricia McGee.

Survivors include: his Wife - Mary McCain of Andrews; 6 Sons - Vance McCain of San Antonio; Anthony McCain of Livingston,  Texas; Lance McCain of California; Quentin Brown of Amarillo; Kelly Brown of Andrews; and Christopher McCain of Lubbock; 4 Daughters- Valerie Ghoston of Indiana; Gwendolyn Rockwell of Irving; Ijuana Gadsden of  South Carolina; and Nicole Brown of Andrews and His Mother- Margaret Parks of Andrews; 26 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren.

CORDIE G. KEITH
September 8, 2005

Funeral services for Cordie G. Keith, 90, of Midland will be 2:00 PM Saturday, September 10, 2005 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with John Snider of Greenwood Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews Old Cemetery.

She passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2005 at her residence in Midland.

She was born February 7, 1915 in Granbury,  Texas to Allison W. McPherson and Dora June Vesta McPherson. She had worked as a secretary for the State of California in Long Beach for 30 years. She moved to Andrews in 1970, and worked for the Andrews Senior Center for 11 years. She married William Benjamin Keith on September 16, 1989 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She moved to Odessa in 1999. She was a member of the Andrews Eastern Star and the Andrews Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers; 1 sister; and 1 stepson.

She is survived by; Husband: Ben Keith of Midland, her 2 stepdaughters: Ora Pearl Scott of Andrews and Jeannie Rogers of Wichita Falls; 2 stepsons: Alton Keith of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Roland Keith of Virginia Beach, Virginia; 2 brothers: Fred McPherson of Breckenridge,  Texas and Tommy McPherson of State of  Washington, 7 step grandchildren; and 15 step great grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to Andrews Senior Center, 310 West Broadway, Andrews,  Texas 79714.

NEVA BENNETT
September 6, 2005

Funeral services for “Granny” Bennett, 91, of Andrews will be 10:00 AM Thursday, September 8, 2005 at the Andrews Church of Christ with Mark Wilson, Rodney Noble, Moody Conner, and Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews Old Cemetery.

Neva passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at her residence in Andrews.

She was born Neva Christine Grimes in Checotah,  Oklahoma on December 5, 1913 to Flora and James Grimes. Neva graduated from high school and commercial college in Ardmore  Oklahoma. She was married to Roy Davis Bennett, Sr. on March 15, 1942 in  Oklahoma City,  Oklahoma. In 1949 they bought a 160-acre farm on Ruskin Road and settled down to raise the family. They opened a feed store on the spot now occupied by the county library. They also sold appliances to supplement the feed business. Soon the furniture and appliance business grew enough that it took over as the family business and Bennett’s Furniture was born. Roy became involved in politics and was elected County Judge in 1962. Roy and Neva had three children, Roy D, Phyllis, and Ellen. Neva was a charter member of the Pink Ladies Hospital Auxiliary and a member of the Andrews Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by husband, Roy, Sr., son, Roy D. Jr., and one granddaughter, Virginia Christine Hoffman.

Neva is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Ann Bain of Shreveport  Louisiana, and Ellen Hoffman of Andrews; Five grandchildren, Bryan Hoffman, Angela Porter, Billy Joe Bain, Deborah McBride, and Bradley Bain; Eight great grandchildren, Lindsay and Chelsea Hoffman, Averee and Tyler Porter, Melissa Carlisle, Dustin and Mariah McBride, and Amanda Bain.

NEVA LEE
September 4, 2005

Funeral services for Neva Lee, 87 of Andrews will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 7, 2005 in McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Minister John Snider of Greenwood Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Andrews West Cemetery.

Neva died Sunday, September 4, 2005 in Andrews. She was born on March 26, 1918 in Moody,  Texas. She married William J. Lee on October 22, 1936 in Snyder. They owned Basin LP Gas Company in Andrews. Mr. Lee preceded her in death on October 3, 1993. Neva was a member of the Andrews Church of Christ.

Survivors include; son Gaylan Lee, Andrews, daughters, Joyce Adams, Midland, Janis Overman and Sheila Bland, both of Andrews, 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

WAYNE LANGEHENNIG
September 3, 2005

Wayne Langehennig, 50, of Andrews passed away Saturday, September 3, 2005 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.

Funeral services will be held in Andrews at 5:00 PM Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel.

Another funeral service will be held in Seagraves at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at the First Assembly of God Church. Burial to follow at Gaines County Cemetery in Seagraves.

Wayne was born November 17, 1954 in Seagraves. He married Edna Faye Sample in Seagraves on December 31, 1971. They moved to Andrews in 1978 from Seagraves. Wayne worked many years as a self-employed concrete contractor and was a 12 year employee for the Andrews Independent School District. Wayne was a great family man, husband, father, and Papa. He enjoyed quality time spent with his family including weekend barbecues, fishing, hunting, and camping.

He is survived by: His Wife - Edna Langehennig of Andrews; Two Sons - Wayne Langehennig, Jr.and his wife, Yumiko of Lubbock and Eric Langehennig and his wife, Tanisha of Seagraves; Parents - D.H. and Faye Langehennig of Seagraves; Sister – Linda Langehennig of Seagraves, and 4 Grandchildren - Yuna, Kai, Kennedy and Marquiz.

ALVARO 'LITO' RODRIQUEZ
August 28, 2005

Rosary services for Alvaro "Lito" Rodriquez, 32, of Andrews will be 7:00 PM Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 1, 2005 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews with Rev. Bernard Gully, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery.

He died Sunday, August 28, 2005 in Ward County,  Texas.

Lito was born June 29, 1973 in Andrews and was a life long resident of Andrews. He married Lea Muniz on July 20, 2002 in Andrews. Lito worked for Andrews Pump and Supply as a machinist. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews. He loved sports of all kinds, He was a big Dallas Cowboy and  Texas Tech fan, and he loved to watch his daughter play softball. He loved music, dancing, singing, and was a DJ for dances. He also loved to go fishing with his daughter. He was preceded in death by: his Grand Parents- Antonio and Margarita Lopez and Santos Rodriquez; his Uncle Antonio Lopez and Aunt, Gloria Garcia.

Survivors include: His Wife- Lea Rodriquez of Andrews; One Daughter-Jenny Molina Rodriquez of Andrews; His Parents Alvaro and Felipa "Blackie" Rodriquez of Andrews; 3 Brothers - Robert and wife Rosemary Ramirez of Andrews; George and wife Theresa Ramirez of Anthony,  Texas; and Tony Ramirez of Andrews; Sisters - Mary Jane Baeza and Husband Larry of Andrews and Kristy Rodriquez of Andrews; 2 Brother-in-laws - Jeremy Muniz of Minot Air Force Base, in North Dakota; and Jacob Nunez of Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, New Mexico. Nieces and Nephews- Regina and Raelyn Ramirez, Nikki Baeza and Jeffery and Jared Ramirez.

HARLEY CHRISTOPHER WADE ORSON
August 27, 2005

Funeral services for Harley Christopher Wade Orson, 2 months old, of Andrews will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at the First Church Of The Nazarene in Andrews with Rev. Robert Williams of Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Babyland Cemetery.

He passed away Saturday, August 27, 2005 at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.

He was born June 2, 2005 in Andrews to Beau Truman Casey Orson, Sr. and Amanda Lea Wilson Orson.

He is survived by his parents: Beau and Amanda Orson of Andrews; 1 brother: Beau Orson, Jr. of Andrews; Grandparents: Jim and Bobby Cardinal of Andrews, Bill and Mary Orson of Andrews, Bertha Orson of New Iberia,  Louisiana, and Billy Hobbs, Jr. of Odessa; and Great Grandmother: Wanda Penney of Andrews.

PARELEE 'PERRY' GOOCH
August 23, 2005

Graveside services for Parelee "Perry" Gooch, 96, of Odessa will be 10:00 AM Saturday, August 27, 2005 in the Andrews Old Cemetery. Rev. Alvin Petty, Pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church in Andrews will officiate.

She passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at Avalon Place in Odessa.

Mrs. Gooch was born November 24, 1908 in Enid,  Oklahoma . She married Arthur T. Gooch March 29, 1930 in Wagner,  Oklahoma. They lived in Andrews from 1948 to 1988 until they moved to Eureka, Kansas. She moved to Odessa in January 2005 to be with her Grandchildren. Mr. Gooch preceded her in death in 1994. She was a homemaker and a member of Wesley Methodist Church. She was a member of the Andrews Lions Club Ladies Auxillary. She loved to write letters to friends and family, cook and watch her soap operas. She was a very strong Christian and was very active in the church. She was a Sunday School teacher and enjoyed working with the youth groups. She had a great sense of humor and loved to argue politics with her friends and family. She was preceded in death by 2 Sons- Donald Gooch in 1964 and Arthur Gooch in 1961.

Mrs. Gooch is survived by: 5 Grandchildren - Carolyn Davis and husband, Garvis of San Antonio, Bobby Gooch and wife, Suzann of Odessa, Terry Gooch and wife Debbie of Odessa; Donald Gooch and wife Susan of Forney,  Texas and Vickie Wolfenbarger and husband, Buddy of Comstock,  Texas; a niece Jean Marie Booth of Eureka, Kansas; 11 Great-Grandchildren and 12 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

TREVA YEAGER FARMER
August 23, 2005

Graveside services for Treva Yeager Farmer, 89, of Andrews will be 2:00 PM Friday, August 26, 2005 in the Andrews Old Cemetery with Felder Hogan of Andrews officiating.

She passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.

She was born December 20, 1915 in Rule,  Texas to Hairan Judson Swinney and Ellen A. Bailey. She married Eugene Wesley Yeager, and he preceded her in death in 1969. She married Stephen Edward Farmer, Sr., and he preceded her in death in 1999. She moved to Andrews in 1974 from Levelland. She worked as a nurse at Permian General Hospital for 6 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Andrews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sons: Phil Yeager in 1969 and Jerry Yeager in 1991; 2 brothers; and 11 sisters.

She is survived by her 4 granddaughters, which included Kim Givhan of Andrews and Karen Crosby of Carrollton; and 4 great grandchildren.

JIMMIE PARKER
August 22, 2005

Graveside services for Jimmie Parker, 97, of Andrews will be 10:00 AM Thursday, August 25, 2005 at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville, Arkansas with Rev. Phil Misenheimer of Fayetteville, Arkansas officiating.

She passed away Monday, August 22, 2005 at her residence in Andrews.

She was born November 3, 1907 in Farmington, Arkansas to George Lollar and Rosie Armstrong Lollar. She married Rev. Ray Parker on August 18, 1929 in Joplin, Missouri. She owned and operated Harris Grocery Store and Post Office in Harris, Arkansas for 16 years. She had lived in Harris, Fayetteville, and Springdale, Arkansas. Her husband preceded her in death on August 19, 1978. She moved to Andrews in 1995 from Springdale. She was a past member of Black Oak Baptist Church in Harris, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents; 6 sisters; 3 brothers; and a granddaughter.

She is survived by her daughter: Martha Helen Lawbaugh of Andrews; Son: Jack Ray Parker of Tontitown, Arkansas; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to Home Hospice, 803 North Main Street, Andrews,  Texas 79714.

RUTH WELBORN
August 22, 2005

Ruth Welborn, 66, of Andrews passed away Monday, August 22, 2005 at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Clifton Igoo will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery.

Ruth was born May 30, 1939 in Stanton,  Texas to Johnny and Jewel Malone. She married Amos Welborn March 30, 1957 in Lamesa,  Texas. They moved to Andrews in 1964 from Lamesa. She was a homemaker, and member of the Andrews Church of God. She loved to bake, and she liked to play on the computer and crochet and she enjoyed working in her garden and taking care of her flowers.

She is survived by Her Husband- Amos Welborn of Andrews; Daughter- Diana Crawford of Andrews; 2 Sons- Billy Welborn of Andrews and Donnie Welborn of Dallas,  Texas; 4 Sisters- Josephine "Jo" Butler of Odessa; Dorothy Bullard of Lamesa; Helen Pennington of Farmington, NM and Evelyn Price of Ohio; and 5 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Andrews Church of God.

FAYE DEJARNETTE
August 18, 2005

Services for Faye DeJarnette, 87 of Andrews, will be 10:00 AM Graveside, Saturday, August 20, 2005 in the Andrews North Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Bob Zap, pastor of the First Christian Church. Services are under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Faye died in Odessa, Thursday, August 18, 2005. She was born on November 7, 1917 in Ballinger,  Texas. She married John H. DeJarnette on December 23, 1956 in Lovington, New Mexico. They owned and operated Andrews Body Shop for 34 years before retirement. She was a member of the first Christian Church. John preceded her in death on September 27, 1998.

Survivors include; sister Dola Watkins, Odessa, brother M.E. Thompson, Cleveland,  Texas, nephew Mike Thomas, Odessa.
