Funeral services for Vera McKinney Harris, 99, of Andrews will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Rev. Gerry and Jeff Lewis, Grandsons, officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews Old Cemetery.

She passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews.

She was born June 23, 1907 in Nashoba,  Oklahoma to Thurston McKinney and Mineola Fincher McKinney. She moved to Andrews in 1923 from Westbrook and attended Andrews Schools. She married William Alexander "Bill" Harris on December 24, 1924 in Andrews. She was a homemaker and a charter member of First Baptist Church in Andrews. She was preceded in death by her husband on December 1, 1988; her daughter: Margaret Stroud in 1998; her parents; 3 sisters; and 2 brothers.

She is survived by her 8 daughters: LaRue  Johnson of Comanche,  Oklahoma, Viola Page, Martha Page, and Rosie Teakell of Andrews, Bernice Vandever of Bakersfield, California, Doris Chambers of Hawkins, Geneva Kutin of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Nona Goolsby of Houston; 1 son: J.W. Harris of Andrews; 1 sister: Lillie Harris of Andrews; 2 brothers: Chuck and Warner McKinney of Andrews; 19 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and 45 great great grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church or the Permian Regional Medical Center Pink Ladies Auxillary.

JAMES 'FRANK' LEONARD
November 3, 2006

Funeral services for James Frank Leonard, 76, of Andrews will be Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Glenn Hammack, Pastor of House of Mercy Ministries. Burial will fofllow in the Andrews North Cemetery.

Frank passed away Friday, November 3, 2006 in Odessa. He was born on May 22, 1930 in Davidson County North Carolina. He married Remona Thomson on July 15, 1953 in Killeen,  Texas. Frank was an engine operator for El Paso Natural Gas company for 31 years, he retired in 1986. Frank was a member of the House of Mercy Ministries and was a veteran serving in the Army in the Korea conflict.

Survivors include, wife; Remona, Andrews. sons; Mike and Kevin of Andrews and Tony of Lamesa, brothers Junior Leonard, Mocksville, North Carolina and Bennie Leonard, Lexington, North Carolins; sisters, Leona Leonard and Carolyn Presnell both of Lexington, North Carolina and 5 grandchildren.

Frank was preceded in death by a daughter Mona Kay Leonard, a grand child Christopher and 2 brothers, Tom and Fred.

EUSEBIO 'AL' MORALES
November 2, 2006

Rosary services for Eusebio "Al" Morales, 78, of Andrews will be 7:00 PM Friday, November 3, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 4, 2006 at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews with Rev. Bernard Gully, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at 4:00 PM Saturday, November 4, 2006 in the Monahans Memorial Cemetery with Rev. John Lucido, Pastor of St. John's Catholic Church in Monahans, officiating.

He passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews.

He was born May 17, 1928 in Fort Davis,  Texas to Jose Jesus Morales and Tibursia Elizalde Morales. He graduated from Fort Davis High School and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Amelia Hernandez on July 17, 1968 in Monahans. He worked as a butcher in Monahans. He moved from Monahans to Andrews where he has lived for 40 years. He worked as a butcher in Andrews; worked for Mustang Lumber Company; and worked for the Andrews High School as a custodian, where he retired. He was a member of Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers.

He is survived by his wife: Amelia H. Morales of Andrews; 1 son: Albert Hernandez of Andrews; 2 brothers: Lino Morales of Fort Worth and Tomas Morales of Austin; and 1 sister: Dolores Morales of Monahans.

Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.

SUE ELLIOTT
November 2, 2006

Graveside services for Sue Elliott, 62, of Gardendale will be 2:00 PM Monday, November 6, 2006 at the Andrews North Cemetery.Officiating will be Rev. Richard Wheat, minister with the First Baptist Church in Odessa.

Sue passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at her residence. She was born on June 28, 1944 in Seminole,  Oklahoma. She married Bruce Elliott on January 18, 1969 in Odessa. Sue was a homemaker.

Survivors include; husband Bruce, Gardendale, daughters; Jacqueline Renee Monk, Reno Nevada, Lexie Elliott, Gardendale, son; Michael S. Monk, Winston Salem, North Carolina, brother; Richard C. Palmer, Eastland,  Texas, sister Brenda Gatlin, Marana, Arizona, 5 grandchildren.

RUFINA ARMENDARIZ LUJAN
October 31, 2006

Prayer services for Rufina Armendariz Lujan, 84, of Andrews will be 7:00 PM Thursday, November 2, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Rev. Teodulo Garcia, Pastor of Tempo La Nueva Jerusalem Church in Andrews, officiating. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, November 3, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Samuel Emiliano, Pastor of Filadelfia Assembly of God Church in Andrews, officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery

Pallbearers will be Eric Estrada, Edward Lujan, Edgar Lujan, Thomas Lujan III, Osvaldo "Lalito" Lujan, Jr., Josue Lujan, and Javier Solis.

She passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at her daughter's home in Waco.

She was born July 10, 1922 in El Mulato, Mexico to Antonio B. Armendariz and Petra Montoya Garcia Armendariz. She married Tomas Lujan, Sr. on February 26, 1946 in El Mulato, Mexico. They moved to Andrews in 1973. She was a homemaker and a member of Filadelfia Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 4, 1976. She was also preceded in death by 1 daughter: Anamaria Lujan; her parents; 4 sisters; and 3 brothers.

She is survived by her 1 daughter: Socorro Solis of Waco; 8 sons: Armando, Arnaldo, Tomas, Jr, Margarito, Hector, and Guadalupe Lujan, all of Andrews, Osvaldo Lujan of Mexico, and Maurilio Ramos of Andrews; 1 sister: Gloria Grado of Artesia, New Mexico; 1 brother: Demetrio Armendariz of Fort Worth; 25 grandchildren; and 32 great grandchildren.

RAY RICHARD 'RED' McCULLOUGH
October 29, 2006

Funeral services for Ray Richard "Red" McCullough, 52, of Andrews will be 2:00 PM Thursday, November 2, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Cliff Lightfoot of Andrews and Rev. Kerry Tilley, Pastor of First Assembly of God Church in Andrews, officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery.

He passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.

He was born December 9, 1953 in Dallas to James Martin McCullough and Laverne  White McCullough. He has lived in Andrews for 45 years and has worked as a pumper for Bald Eagle in Andrews for 14 years. He married Carolyn Jo Martin on June 15, 1979 in Andrews. He was attending the First Assembly of God Church in Andrews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister.

He is survived by his wife: Carolyn McCullough of Andrews; 1 son: Jerry McCullough of Odessa; 1 daughter: Carrie Lavender of Andrews; 2 brothers: Randy McCullough of Andrews and Glen McCullough of Eunice, New Mexico; 2 sisters: Barbara McCullough and Vickie Wilson of Andrews; 7 grandchildren; mother in law: Betty Combs of Alba; and father in law: Walter D. Martin of Andrews.

HOPE FRANCES UPCHURCH
October 28, 2006

Hope Frances Upchurch, infant daughter of Stacy Upchurch was born and died Saturday October 28, 2006 at Permian Regional Hospital in Andrews.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday November 1, 2006 at Andrews North Cemetery. Rev. Kerry Tilley, pastor of First Assembly of God Church in Andrews will officiate.

Baby Hope is survived by: Her Mother - Stacy Upchurch of Andrews; Aunts - Casey Upchurch and Amy Upchurch both of Bridgeport,  Texas; Uncle - David Upchurch of Odessa, Grandparents - Jimmy Upchurch of Bridgeport; Alva Upchurch of Ft. Worth; Ben and Jimmie Kemp of Andrews.

OLETA NOBLE
October 26, 2006

Funeral services for Oleta Noble, 87, of Andrews will be 2:00 PM Saturday, October 28, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Rodney Noble, Son, and Elder Gail Faries of Lubbock, officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews West Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at McNett Funeral Home on Friday, October 27, 2006 from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM.

She passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2006 at Saddleridge Lodge Assisted Living in Midland.

She was born July 27, 1919 in Cisco to  Jefferson Franklin Turknett and Mary Ann Page Turknett. She graduated from Cisco High School and married Forrest Weldon Noble on April 16, 1937 in Cisco. They moved to Andrews in 1946 from Abilene. Forrest and Oleta owned and operated Noble Oldsmobile in Andrews from 1946-1990, and they believed in driving a fine automobile. They received the highest customer satisifaction index award of 100% from Oldsmobile and was awarded the Oldsmobile Elite Dealer for the entire nation. Forrest preceded her in death on December 7, 2005. She was a past member of Andrews County Local Charities and Andrews Home Demonstration Club. She was a member of the Andrews Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters; and 2 brothers.

She is survived by her 1 daughter: Kathleen Brewer and husband Richard of Midland; 2 sons: Rodney Noble and wife Jane of Andrews and Bradley Noble of Houston; 1 sister: Odessa Garrett of Lubbock; 1 brother: Raymond Turknett of Stephenville; 6 grandchildren: Peter Brewer and wife Nanette of Memphis, TN, Lori West and husband David of San Antonio, Kari Atchley and husband Randi of Midland, Marla Pemmaraju and husband Sankar of Colleyville, Carmen Castleberry and husband Bryan of Lampasas, April Aglipay and husband Greg of Allen; and 11 great grandchildren: Matthew Brewer, Jody and Tyler West, Avery and Kirsten Atchley, Amy Beth,  Taylor and Connor Castleberry, Sarah Ashlee, Zoe Mae, and Eli Aglipay.

Memorials may be sent to Andrews County Local Charities, 700 West Broadway, Andrews,  Texas 79714.

PAT THACKER
October 24, 2006

Graveside services for Pat Thacker, 66, of Andrews will be 2:00 PM Friday, October 27, 2006 at the Andrews North Cemetery with Rev. Larry Elder, Pastor of Open Door Church in Odessa, officiating.

She passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at her residence in Andrews.

She was born on March 4, 1940 in Clarksville,  Texas to Andrew  Jackson Burns and Velma Elizabeth Ham. She graduated from Levelland High School and moved from Levelland to Andrews, where she has lived for the last 30 years. She retired from  White's Home & Auto Store in Levelland and Andrews. She co-owned The Pet Walk in Andrews with her daughter. She was pentecostal. She was preceded in death by her father in 1968.

She is survived by her 1 daugher: Dee Thacker of Andrews; 1 son: Craig Thacker of Andrews; mother: Velma Burns of Andrews; and 1 brother: Don Burns of Bogota,  Texas

ANGELITA V. HERNANDEZ
October 24, 2006

Angelita V. Hernandez, 85, of Presidio,  Texas passed away Tuesday October 24, 2006 at Big Bend Regional Hospital in Alpine.

A Prayer servicees will be held at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at Filadelfia Assembly of God Church in Andrews,  Texas.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Filadelfia Assembly of God in Andrews. Rev. Samuel Emiliano will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Angelita was born May 13, 1921 in Pallomas, Mexico. She married Sabino Hernandez on December 19, 1945 in Mexico. He preceded her in death in 2001. She was a homemaker and mother. She loved to cook and sew. She also loved to read the Bible. She was a member of Filadelfia Assembly of God Church in Andrews.

She is survived by: 2 Sons - Efren Hernandez of Andrews and Sergio Hernandez of Ft. Davis,  Texas; 4 Daughters - Anita Guzman of Artesia, NM; Blanca Corrales of Redford,  Texas; Beatrice Hernandez of Dallas,  Texas and Maribel Carrasco of Presidio,  Texas; 1 Brother - Pedro Valenzuela of Presidio, 4 Sisters - Juanita Carrasco of Houston; Consuela Hernandez of Midland; Rosa Hernandez of Odessa and Maria Gomez of Dexter, NM; 29 Grandchildren and 36 Great-Grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Hernandez will be at Filadelfia Assembly of God Church.

MATTIE LEE McGUIRE
October 18, 2006

Funeral services for Mattie Lee McGuire, 94, of Andrews will be 1:00 PM Saturday, October 21, 2006 at the Throckmorton Cemetery in Throckmorton,  Texas with Rev. James Beard, Pastor of McKinney Acres Baptist Church, officiating.

She passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.

She was born on April 27, 1912 in Throckmorton to Rivers Kelley and Margaret Rogers Kelley. She married William Ramsey "Mack" McGuire on July 30, 1938 in Throckmorton. They moved to Andrews in 1968 from Snyder. They had owned and operated McGuire Boot and Saddle Shop in Andrews. He preceded her in death on September 20, 1976. She had worked as a cook for B&J Restaurant in Andrews and as a dietician for the Andrews Senior Citizen Center. She was a member of the Andrews Senior Citizen Center and McKinney Acres Baptist Church in Andrews. She was preceded in death by her son: Robert McGuire in 1948; her parents; 3 sisters; and 1 brother.

She is survived by her 1 daughter: Molly McCray of Denver City; 1 son: Walt McGuire of Odessa; 1 brother: Clarence Kelley of Springer, New Mexico; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to McKinney Acres Baptist Church, 570 SE 1400, Andrews,  Texas 79714.

MARIAN DALLAS
October 17, 2006

Marian Dallas, 75, of Andrews passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at Terrace West Nursing home in Midland.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, October, 19, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. John Snider pastor of Greenwood Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews West Cemetery.

Marian was born July 1, 1931 in Lark,  Texas. She married George Dallas June 26, 1968 in Andrews,  Texas. She loved to visit people and visit the Andrews Seniors Center. She also loved her sons and grandchildren. Marian was an active member of the Andrews Church of Christ and she loved her church.

She is survived by two sons; Terry Miles and his wife Linda and Steve Miles all of Midland, daughter-in-law; Mary Dallas of Dallas,  Texas, three brothers; Vernon Southard of Andrews, J.M. Southard of Mineral Wells,  Texas, and Luther Southard of Dallas, three sisters; Juanita Leas of Dallas, Essie Ragsdale of Hobbs, NM, Dorothy Howell of Seattle,  Washington, six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
