September 7, 2006

Rosary services for Jesse M. Madrid, Sr., 73, of Andrews will be 7:00 PM Sunday, September 10, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, September 11, 2006 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews with Rev. Bernard Gully, Pastor, officiating.

Graveside services will be 3:00 PM Monday, September 11, 2006 at Mitchell County Cemetery in Colorado City with Rev. Michael A. Rodriguez of Holy Family Catholic Church in Sweetwater officiating.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Madrid, Bryan Monroy, Stephen Monroy, Michael Monroy, Joe-Jon Madrid, Redd Rodriguez, Wesley Rodriguez, Alex Bustamante, and Chili Madrid.

He passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2006 at his residence in Andrews.

He was born on May 18, 1933 in Colorado City to Tomas Madrid and Antonio Munoz Madrid. He married Ruth Madrid on May 30, 1951 in Colorado City and they moved to Andrews in 1963. He was a building contractor. He was a member of Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 son; 2 brothers; and 1 sister.

He is survived by his wife: Ruth Madrid of Andrews; 3 sons: Daniel Madrid of Brownwood, Jesse Madrid, Jr. and wife Betty of Andrews, and Johnny Madrid of Austin; 3 daughters: Irene Monroy and husband Cesar, Amelia Bustamante and husband Alfredo, and Ida Rodriquez and husband Jesse, all of Andrews; 2 sisters: Maria Lujan of Midland and Florencia Heredia of Colorado City; 14 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to American Cancer Society.

THERA STULTZ
September 6, 2006

Thera Stultz, age 88, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews,  Texas.

She was born February 22, 1918 in Rockwall County,  Texas to Richard G. and Tennie Williams. She graduated from Garland High School in 1936 and that same year on August 1st married Bill Briley Stultz in Richardson,  Texas. The couple moved to Ballinger in 1949 where both were active community members.

She worked as a sales clerk at Higginbotham Department Store, and many Ballinger residents remember the wonderful fudge and candy Thera made. She loved to cook and sew and also delivered Meals on Wheels. She was ordained an elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Ballinger on January 28, 1990 and was very active in the work of the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, Bill, and by several siblings: Winnie Bozman, Clarence Williams, Corine Blackmon, Cecil Williams, Aliene Bozman, Mildred King, and Elsie Hunt.

Mrs. Stultz is survived by many loving family members including her children, Bobbie McMillan of Christoval,  Texas; Rex Stultz and his wife, Marty, of Eden,  Texas; Millie Henderson and her husband, Bob, of Andrews,  Texas; and Beth Penley also of Andrews.
Also surviving are grandchildren Scott Flanagan and wife, Mylea, of Ballinger; Kellie Ebenstein and husband, Steve, of Greenwood,  Texas; Ross Stultz and wife, Mary Lisa, of Menard,  Texas; Reid Stultz and wife, Kelly, of San Angelo. Eleven great-grandchildren
survive: Alyssa, Shane, Avery, and Ben Flanagan of Ballinger; Sterlin, Kambree, Slade, and Sawyer Ebenstein of Greenwood,  Texas; Stran and Slone Stultz of Menard,  Texas; and Hadley Stultz of San Angelo.

Also surviving are a sister, Monnie Fay Price, and a brother Woodrow Williams; a special brother and sister-in-law, Rex and Alice Stultz of Dallas; a dear friend, Louise King; step grandsons, Mark Henderson of Edmond,  Oklahoma, and Todd Henderson of San Angelo; a step granddaughter, Lisa Gordy of Coppell,  Texas; and eight step great grandchildren.

There will be a visitation Sunday, September 10, 2006 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday, September 11, 2006 at 10:00 a.m.at the First Presbyterian Church in Ballinger, with Kary Rawlings officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Flanagan, Ross Stultz, Reid Stultz, Steve Ebenstein, Todd Henderson, Dale Halfmann, R. J. Laird, and Tom Sykes. Honorary pallbearers are F. E. Clayton, Bob Webb, Harry Tinkler, Winton Milliff, Milton Redman, Myles Evans, Bill Sykes, Tanner Sykes, Chauncey Mansell, James Fowler, and Casey Laird.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to First Presbyterian Church of Ballinger, to Ballinger Carnegie Library, 204 Eighth St., Ballinger,  Texas 76821 or to Home Hospice of Andrews, 803 N. Main, Andrews,  Texas 79714.

CHARLENE PARKER
September 3, 2006

Services for Charlene Parker, 83 of Athens, formerly of Andrews, will be 2:00 PM Thursday, September 7, 2006 in McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Ted Short, pastor of Grace Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Charlene passed away Sunday, Spetember 3, 2006 in Athens. She was born on May 5, 1923 in Sweetwater,  Texas. She married John Parker on May 23, 1942 in Ballinger,  Texas. Charlene was a beautician in Andrews for many years before retirement. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Andrews.

Survivors include; daughter, Kathryn and husband Weldon Holcombe, Payne Springs,  Texas; two sisters, Evelyn Gardner, New Boston,  Texas and Jean Templeton, Chandler,  Texas, three grandchildren, Lisa Rhoades, LeAnne Wilson, both of Payne Springs,  Texas and Diana Nichols, McKinney,  Texas, six great grandchildren, Charlene was preceded in death by her husband, John Parker on December 9, 2005. Also 3 brothers, Buford, John and Bill Chesney and 1 sister, Juandell Milldeton.

MYRIA H. DAMRON
September 1, 2006

Myria H. Damron, 72, of Andrews passed away Friday September 1, 2006 at Midland Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Tuesday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews. Rev. Bryan Johnson, Chaplin for Home Hospice in Andrews will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Mr. Damron was born November 17, 1933 in Jacksboro,  Texas. he married Patsy Dorman September 9, 1956 in Ardmore  Oklahoma. They moved to Andrews in 1963 from Bridgeport. Mr. Damron loved to fish, and work in his yard and he enjoyed working on cars. He loved taking care of his wife and his family and his beloved dog. He was preceded in death by: Parents - Dan and Callie Damron and a Sister - Grace Gary in 1990.

He is survived by: His Wife - Patsy Carol Damron of Andrews; One Daughter - Quita Damron Williams of Andrews; One Son - Rodney and his wife Robin Damron of Midland; Six Brothers - Billy Dan of Jacksboro; Winfred of Jacksboro; Marvin of Kingfisher,  Oklahoma; L.D. of Mineral Wells,  Texas; Dwight Damron of Jacksboro and Larry of Jacksboro; Five Sisters- Wanda Scarber of Jacksboro; Juanita Long of Bowie; Helen Fighman; Dorothy Estes of Jacksboro; and Karen Strickland of Stephenville,  Texas. Six grandchildren and 3 Great- Grandchildren.

DOROTHY L. MEADOR

Dorothy Meador, 76 passed away in Andrews Friday evening, March 23, 2007.

Services are pending with Seigler Funeral Home in Matador,  Texas.

LAURA BENTON
March 23, 2007

Services for Laura Naomi Benton, 100 of Andrews will be a Graveside service, 10:00 AM Monday, March 26, 2007 in the Andrews Old Cemetery. Officiating will be Dr. Jeff Donnell, pastor of First Baptist Church. Services are under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Laura passed away Friday, March 23, 2007 at Permian Residential Care Center. She was born on December 9, 1906 at Jayton,  Texas. She married Mark Benton on February 12, 1925 in Claremont,  Texas. Laura was a member of the First Baptist Church. She worked for the Rose theater in Andrews for 40 years before rertirement. Mark preceded her in death on March 13, 1986.

Survivors include a son: A.T. Benton, Channelview,  Texas, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

ROSE L. CARLSON
March 22, 2007

Rose L. Carlson, 94, passed away Thursday March 22, 2007 at her home in Andrews.

Funeral Servicecs will be 4:00 PM Monday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Rev, Larry Brewer of City of Refuge Church will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews Old Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Rose was born January 1, 1913 in Loman, Minnesota.
Rose had an adventurous life. she graduated from Teaching College during the depression, when it was hard to find work, so she waited tables. She served in the US Navy during WWII from January 1944 until September 1945. She latter worked for the Office of Indian Affairs, She owned a resturant , and a gas station.
Rose aslo loved to travel and she traveled the world visiting many many different countries.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Edwin Christianson in 1975 and Clifford Carlson in 1986. and two brothers, Clifford and Roland Peterson.

She is survived by: her adopted family-Sarah Ellis of Andrews who was like a sister to Rose; Sherri and Gonzalo Chavez, II of Andrews, and her her Grandchildren; Gonzalo Chaves, III; Sarah Marie, Victoria Esther, and Ezikiel James Chavez all of Andrews.

CELIA GUTIERREZ
March 18, 2007

Celia Gutierrez, 63, of Andrews passed away Sunday March 18, 2007 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.

A Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church, Rev. Bernard Gully will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Celia was born March 27, 1943 in Alpine,  Texas. She moved to Andrews in 1975 from Seminole,  Texas.
She loved to listen to music and enjoyed raising plants and flowers and even played music for them too. She loved to watch scarry movies and shop. And she loved to be with her family.

She is survived by: five sons - Mike and wife Lola Garcia of Andrews; Javier and wife Mikki Gutierrez and Ralph and wife Lori Gutierrez both of Florida; Silvianoand wife Toni Gutierrez and Frank and wife Norma Gutierrez both of Andrews; two daughters - Nora Wake and husband John of Andrews and JoAnn Rodriguez and husband Jose Louis of Hobbs, NM.,one sister - Estella Llanez of Hobbs, NM; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

NADEAN SHIPLEY
March 16, 2007

Nadean Shipley, 66, of Andrews passed away on Friday, March 16, 2007 at her home. She was born to Henry and Vivian Wolfe in Powderly,  Texas on January 13, 1941. She was a graduate of Andrews High School. She drove a school bus for Andrews ISD for 26, years before retiring in 2006. She loved working outdoors in her yard and driving her bus. She provided love and joy for her children and granchildren. She never met a stranger or a child she couldn't make laugh.

Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, March 19, 2007 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Burial follow in the Andrews Old Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by one son Richard Sellers in 1979 and one grandson Christopher Breeding in 2005.

She is survived by her three daughters Tonya Horn of Gilmer,  Texas, Rachelle Gains of Midlalnd,  Texas and Paul and Tracy Mainka of Andrews, five grandchildren. Scott Gaines of Shallowater,  Texas, Lockie Breeding of Gilmer,  Texas, Roxanne, Paula and Ryan Mainka all of Andrews. Honorary children. Auden and Yolanda Saenz and grandchildren Auden, Jr and Aaron all of Andrews. Five sisters, Carolyn Meyers of Odessa,  Texas, Bobby and Shirley McWilliams of Midland,  Texas, Charlie and Maxine Kinney, Benny and Janicse Brown, Jose and Marshia Perez, one brother Larry and Joanne Wolfe all of Andrews. Numerous nephews and nieces and her bus barn family.

LILLIE (FAYE) GALLENTINE
March 15, 2007

Lillie (Faye) Gallentine, 84, of Andrews passed away Thursday March 15, 2007 at her home in Andrews.

Graveside Services will be 4:00 PM Saturday at Gaines County Cemetery in Seminole,  Texas. Johnnie Miller of Andrews, will officiate. Arrangments are by McNett Funeral Home in Andrews.

Faye was born June 25, 1922 in Peacock,  Texas.She moved to Andrews in 1972 from Stanford,  Texas.Faye worked as a waitress for many years. She loved to work in her yard and garden and spend time taking care of her family.She was a Baptist.

Faye is survived by: two sons - Dick Lemons of Abilene and Donnie Lemons of Hammond,  Oklahoma: one daughter - Fayrene Latimer of Andrews: one sister - Jesse Nichols of Abilene: 11 grandchildren, 14 great- grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

JOSE JIMENEZ
March 9, 2007

Services for Jose Jimenez, 60 of Andrews, will be 7:00 PM Sunday, March 11, 2007 in McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation will follow on Monday.

Jose passed away Friday, March 9, 2007 at his residence in Andrews. He was born on May 30, 1946 in Chihuaha, Mexico. He married Teresa Jaquez on November 22, 1967 in Chihuahua, Mexico. He was a truck driver for several years before retirement.

Survivors include, wife: Teresa of Andrews, mother: Lucia Villalobos of Hobbs, New Mexico, sons: Jose A. Jimenez and Cesar V. Jimenez both of Andrews, Luis G. Jimenez of Odessa and Mario Jimenez of Colorado Springs, Colorado, daughter: Blanca Jimenez of Chihuahua, Mexico, sister: Graciela Lopez and Maria Scott of Hobbs, New Mexico, brother: Mario Gonzales of Phoenix, Arizona,nine grandchildren.

JOHNNY WAYNE WENDEBORN
March 4, 2007

Services for Johnny Wayne Wendeborn, 41 of Andrews will be 1:00 PM Thursday, March 8, 2007 at Calvary Baptist Church. Officiating will be Joe Harper.
Burial will be at 4:00 PM at Trinity Memorial Park Cemetery in Big Spring,  Texas. Services are under the direction of McNett Funeral Home of Andrews.

Johnny passed away Sunday, March 4, 2007 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born on January 12, 1966 in Big Spring,  Texas. Johnny graduated from Kermit High School in 1984. He was a past volunteer member of the Hamilton fire dept. Johnny worked for the Andrews schools in the maintenance department from 2001 to 2005. He was a member of the Andrews volunteer fire department since 2002 serving as a Capitan. He was also a paramedic for the city of Andrews. Johnny married Rhonda Chase on November 13, 1993 in Midland.

Survivors include, wife: Rhonda, Andrews, parents Bob and Lana Clark, Forsan,  Texas, father: Wayne Wendeborn, Thoreau, New Mexico, sons: Colby Wendeborn, Andrews, Matt Morgan, Austin,  Texas, daughters: Misty Vanderburg and Desiree Tucker both of Odessa,  Texas, brothers: Jeffrey Wendeborn, Gustine,  Texas and Mike Clark, Greenwood,  Texas, one grand son: Max Aguilar, Odessa,  Texas

He was preceded in death by grandparents John and Doris Day who lived in Big Spring.
