August 24, 2007

Services for Sue Braswell, 82 of Andrews, will be 2:00 PM Monday, Augusts 27, 2007 in Means Memorial United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Rick Doyle. Burial will follow in the Andrews Old Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Sue passed away at her home in Andrews Friday, August 24, 2007. She was born on August 27, 1924 in Farmersville,  Texas. Sue married Dewey Braswell on September 26, 1947 in Roswell, New Mexico. Sue was a member of the Means Memorial United Methodist Church. She worked for Andrews Gas Company for several years before retirement.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband Dewey on September 23, 1999, a brother Charlie Burkett and a sister Ima Lou Burkett.

Survivors include, daughters; Karen Jenkins, San Jose, CA and Beverly Braswell, Odessa, TX, sisters; Betty Luck and Jean Humphreys both of Midland, two grandsons; Matt and Mark Jenkins and a great grandchild.

Melissa (Meli Marie) Flores
August 13, 2007

Melissa (Meli Marie) Flores, 16, of Andrews passed away Monday August 13, 2007 at her home in Andrews.

A Rosary will be 7:00PM Thursday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Friday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Melissa was born August 4, 1991 in Iraan,  Texas. She moved to Andrews with her family in 1997 from Sheffield,  Texas.
Meli Marie was a Student at Andrews High School. She was an AHS Cheerleader, and ran Cross Country. She was a Black Belt in Taekwon-do, and she loved to work out and lift weights. She was a member of the Spanish National Honor Society. She loved to Dance and when she was younger her family had her convinced that she was a princess.

Melissa is survived by, her parents, Stephen and Guadalupe Flores, of Andrews; Two brothers, Stephen Flores of Midland, and Carlos of Andrews; Three sisters, Lucila Bueno, Christina Flores, and Crystal Flores all of Andrews; Grandparents Virginia Flores of Sheffield,  Texas, and Ramon Medina of Acuna, Mexico.

GADEN ALLEN KLEIN
August 10, 2007

Gaden Allan Klein, 7 month old son of Casey and Barbara Klein of Andrews, passed away Saturday August 10, 2007 at his home in Andrews.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Monday, August 13, 2007 at First Baptist Church in Andrews. Rev. Harvey Enriquez, Pastor of Northcrest Baptist Church in Andrews will officiate.
Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery under thye direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Gaden was born January 5, 2007 in Andrews.

He was preceded in death by, Great Grandparents, Crawford Spurlock, and Eva and H.C Hartley and Sue Klein.

Gaden is survived by, his parents, Casey and Barbara Klein of Andrews, One Brother, Gage Klein of Andrews, Grandparents, Vicki and Larry Klein, and Donald and Tracy Spurlock all of Andrews; Great-Grandparents, Bobbie Allen of Andrews, Barbara and Dale Sarrels of Andrews, Jim Mack Stewart of Del Rio, and Adam Klein of Odessa. Aunts and Uncles, Cody and Ali Klein of Midland, Rachel and John Daniel Lopez of Andrews, Jeff and Jesse Helms of Midland and Jason Helms of Andrews; and One Cousin, Veda Lopez of Andrews.

TRUDY SUGGS
April 25, 2008

Services for Trudy Suggs 79 of Odessa, will be 10:00 AM Monday, April 28, 2008 Graveside in Andrews West Cemetery with Rev. Emmett Barrnard with Home Hospice officiating. Services are under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Trudy passed away Friday, April 25, 2008 in the Hospice House in Odessa. She was born on July 21, 1928 in Kassel, Germany. She married Elmont Murry Suggs on Aapril 14, 1955 in Manhiem, Germany. Trudy was a homemaker and a Methodist.
Mr. suggs preceded Trudy in death on February 28, 2007.

Survivors include, brother; Kurt Oppermann, Germany, sister; Rosel Zaufall, Germany and a close friend Debbie Franklin, Odessa.

HELEN REBECCA "REBA" GREAVES
April 24, 2008

Services for Reba Greaves 92 of Andrews will be 2:00 PM Sunday April 27, 2008 in McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jeff Donnell pastor of First Bapitst Church officiating. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Monday, April 28, 2008 in Van Horn Cemetery at Van Horn,  Texas with Rev. Linda Mizell, pastor of the first United Methodist Church in Van Horn officiating. Services are under the direction of McNett Funeral Home of Andrews.

Reba passed away in Andrews Thursday, April 24, 2008. She was born on August 7, 1915 in Marathon,  Texas. Her family moved to Alpine,  Texas around 1925. Reba worked her way through college by teaching Tennis, Handball and Volleyball classes at Sul Ross College reveiving a Bachelors Degree in Education in 1936. Her teaching career took her from Redford,  Texas, Sanderson,  Texas to Van Horn over a span of 28 years. Durring WW II Reba worked on airplanes at airbases in California and Marfa,  Texas. Reba married Troy M. Greaves on July 15, 1947 in Alpine,  Texas. Reba was a published Poet and loved to travel. A couple of her favorite places were the Grand Titans and Bloys Camp Meeting in Fort Davis,  Texas. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the First United Methodist Church in Van Horn. After 61 years in Van Horn, Reba and Troy moved to Andrews in 2000. She was preceded in death by her husband Troy on May 17, 2003, also a sister Louise Gunn.

Survivors include, son; Kenneth Greaves and wife Donna, Andrews,  Texas, sister; Sarah "Sada" Brownlee, Peru, Indiana, three grandchildren; Kendra and Jennifer, Alpine,  Texas Gayla, Midland,  Texas and six great-grandchildren.

JOSE GONZALES
April 24, 2008

Jose Cifuentez Ganzales, 71, of Sanderson passed away Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.

A Rosary will be 7:00 PM Monday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews,  Texas.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews. Burial will be in Andrews West Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Mr. Gonzales was born may 10, 1936 in Sanderson,  Texas. He lived in Andrews for many years before moving back to Sanderson in 1974. He worked as a roughneck. He loved tobuild thing and make old things new again. He was a Jack of all trades and could work on anything.

He was preceded in death by: parents Manuel and Josefina Gonzales; brothers, Baldo, Jesse and Mauricio Gonzales, sons, George and Rodger Gonzales and wife Paulina Gonzales.

He ios survived by: four sons - Joe and wife Rachel, Jaime and wife Susan, and Michael Gonzales all of Andrews, Danny and wife Melissa and Sammy Gonzales all of Odessa, 1 daughter - Belinda Hernandez of Andrews one brother - Manuel Gonzales, Jr. of Andrews Three sisters - Marta Daughtery of Horizon City,  Texas; Lorena G. Rocha of Lubbock and Petra Delgado of Andrews, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

LENAVE CALLIE FREELAND
April 20, 2008

Services for Lenave Freeland 90 of Midland, formerly of Andrews, will be 2:00 PM Graveside April 22, 2008 in Martin Family Cemetery near Tatum,  Texas. Services are under the direction of McNett Funeral Home Andrews,  Texas.

Lenave was born on January 12, 1918 in Dill City, Oklahama. She married William G. "Buck" Freeland on August 12, 1943 in Morton,  Texas. Lenave was a teacher / counselor for the Morton school system before retirement. She was a member of the First Methodist Church. Lenave was preceded in death by her husband Buck on May 22, 1995 and a son-in-law, Clem A. Kuehler.

Survivors include, daughters; Lynne Kuehler, Granbury,  Texas, Carol Ann Moose and husband husband Ron, Midland,  Texas, son; Billy Freeland and wife Phyllis, Friendswood,  Texas, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

DARRELL BENSON
April 18, 2008

Darrell Benson, 81, of Andrews passed away Friday April 18, 2008 at Home Hospice House in Odessa.
Funeral services will be 2:00 Monday April 21, 2008 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews. Burial will be in Andrews West Cemetery.

Darrell was born December 9, 1926 in Dixie,  Oklahoma to Cloyd and Grace Benson. He married Ramona Meek April 15, 1949 in Plainview,  Texas. In 1956 they moved to Andrews from Sundown,  Texas. Darrell worked for Honolulu Oil Company (which became Amoco) as a pumper for over thirty five years.
Darrell loved to fish and hunt and he also loved to watch baseball, Tennis and Golf when Tiger  Woods was playing. He was a man of few words but when he did have something to say people listened. After he retired from Amoco in 1986 he contracted with Quaila Oil.

He is survived by; His wife - Ramona Benson of Andrews; Daughter - Vickie Thomas and her husband Terry of Andrews; Son - K.B. Benson and his wife Lisa of Odessa; Brothers - Teddy Benson and wife Phyllis of  Washington state, and James Gibson and wife Carolyn of Big Fork, Montana, Sisters - Frances Covington and husband J.D. of Big Fork, Montana; and Patsy Roberts and husband Byron of Blue Eye, Missouri; Three Grandchildren - Christine Bearden and husband Jim Bob of Midland, Austin Benson of Odessa and Travis Benson of Lubbock.

JANIES BROWNLEE
April 16, 2008

Services for Janies Brownlee 88 of Andrews, will be 10:00 AM Thursday, April 17, 2008 in McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Dr. Jeff Donnell, pastor of First Baptist Church, Rev. Bryan Johnson, Chaplain of Home Hospice and Elvin Brownlee, III, a grandson.
Graveside services will be Friday, April 18, 2008 at 11:00 AM in Garden of Memories Cemetery at De Leon,  Texas. Officiating at the graveside service will be Rev. Renford Norris, Frisco,  Texas.
Services are under the direction of McNett Funeral Home of Andrews.

Janies passed away in Andrews Wednesday, April 16, 2008. She was born on December 3, 1919 at Cisco,  Texas. Janies married Elvin Doyle Brownlee, Sr. on January 10, 1936 in De Leon,  Texas. Janies was a home maker and a member of the Maranatha Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include, husband, Elvin Doyle Brownlee, Sr., Andrews, sons; Elvin D. Brownlee, Jr., Andrews, Bennie Brownlee, Brownwood, Reo Brownlee, Andrews, daughters; Beverly Johnson, De Leon, Jan Pruitt, Pleasant View, Colorado,
twelve grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren and five great-great- grandchildren.

Janies was preceded in death by her parents, J.T. and Nora Hooks Green, brother; Redies Green, sisters; Pauline Teague, Laverne McGinnis and Dwight Davidson.

GORDON COX
April 12, 2008

Gordon Cox, 85, of Andrews passed away Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday April 15, 2008 at First Baptist Church in Andrews. Dr. Jeff Donnell, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be in Andrews West Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Gordon was born March 6, 1923 in Garden City,  Texas. He married Edna Earl Jones, December 21, 1941 in Big Spring,  Texas. They farmed and ranched in Tarzan until moving to Andrews in 1950 where Gordon continued to raise cattle. Edna preceded him in death in March of 1999.

Gordon Married Ruth Day Wyche August 26, 2000. He served on the Soil and Water Conservation board for more than 40 years, he was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, and he was very involved in show calves and 4-H. He was owner and breeder of many great racehorses including "Gotta Get" who went undefeated wining 9 races in a row in 2006, and holds the worlds record for 400 yards at a time of 18.65 seconds. He was a director for the West  Texas Quarter Horse Association.
He was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Andrews for many years.

He is survived by: Wife, Ruth Cox of Andrews; one daughter, Kay Sowders of Midland, one son; Berry Cox of Monahans, three step daughters; Nancy Wyche Hickman of California, Cindy Wyche Strowman of Sweetwater and Sara Day Wyche of Irving, one brother; Bob Cox of Stanton, and one sister-in-law; Sheila  Jones of Midland, 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren. And over 30 cousins.

Pallbearers will be, Roy Springer, Sam Sowders, Will Sowders, Tod Cox, Shawn Cox, Jennifer Sowders and Butch Strowman.
