STEVE FARRAR
August 21, 2008

Stephen (Steve) Farrar, 57, of Andrews passed away Thursday August 21, 2008 at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday August 25, 2008 at Means Memorial United Methodist Church in Andrews. Rev. Rick Doyle will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Steve was born December 2, 1950 in Spokane,  Washington. He married Belinda Badger October 21, 1972 in Snyder,  Texas. They moved to Andrews in 1974. Steve worked as a Down Hole Consultant and tool operator for the oil industry. He loved music, motorcycles and baseball. He enjoyed keeping fit and working out. Steve spent much of his childhood in Germany and attended elementary school there.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clark and Lily Farrar, and a sister Yvonne Allan.

Steve is survived by: his wife; Belinda Farrar of Andrews, two daughters; Adriane Williams of Denver City, Sarah Martinez of Andrews, two sons; Nick Farrar, and Nathan farrar both of Andrews, two sisters; Susan Hall of Evant,  Texas, Jean Farrar of Burnett,  Texas and four grandchildren.

JAMES (Jimmy) WILSON
August 20, 2008

James (Jimmy) Wilson passed away Wednesday August 20, 2008 at the V.A. Hospital in Big Spring.
A Memorial service will be 10:00 AM Saturday August 23, 2008 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel.
Jimmy was born May 14, 1935 to H.T. and Wilma Wilson in Andrews. He lived most of his life in Andrews and worked for the Andrews County Parks Department for 40 years. He served his country in the Army Corps of Engineers (Spec4) on two separate tours of duty.
he was a member of the Big Spring Prospectors club,  Texas Pecan Association and the  Texas Rifle Association. Going to the family deer hunt each year was one of his favorite times of enjoyment.
Jimmy was preceded in death by, his father and mother and a brother H.T. Wilson, Jr.
He is survived by broythers - Jerald and wife Linda Wilson of BigSpring, William and wife Joyce Wilson of Levelland, as well as cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Honorary Pallbearers will be employees past and present of the Andrews County Parks Department.
The family suggest the memorial be sent to the Lubbock Christians Childrens Home or the Andrews Church of Christ.

DAVID ALLEN SANDERS
August 17, 2008

Services for David Sanders 44 of Andrews, will be 10:00 AM Thusday, August 21, 2008 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Melton officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

David passed away Sunday, August 17, 2008, at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews. He was born on February 13, 1964 in Neenah, Wisconsin. He married Alyson Tolson on April 17, 2004 in Andrews. David was director of utilities for the City of Andrews, and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include, wife Alyson Sanders, Andrews, daughters; Cortni Sanders, Brittni Sanders and Olivia Sanders all of Andrews, a son; Trent Ward, Andrews, brother; George "Rusty" Sanders, Granite, OK and a grand son.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening at McNett Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

MICHAEL JUDD "MIKE" DETTERICK
February 25, 2009

Michael Judd "Mike" Detterick, 47, of Andrews passed away Wednesday February 25, 2009 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

A memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday March 3, at lakeview Christian Church in Andrews. John Detterick will officiate.

Mike was born February 16, 1962 in fort Worth,  Texas. He moved to Andrews with his family in 1970. Mike graduated from Andrews High School in 1980. He served in the United States Marine Corps. After returning from the service. Mike attended Motorcycle Mechanics school and was a trained Harley-Davidson Technician. He worked a a motorcycle technician and an automobile technician and was employed by Lithia Toyota in Odessa.

He is survived by: his parents - Jerry and Barbara Detterick of Andrews; One sister - Cyndie Detterick Pineda and her husband Robert of Andrews; Daughters - Jennifer Strnal of Midland and Summer Beckworth of Ft. Worth; Niece Leticia Pineda of Ft. Worth and Two grandchildren.

The family requests that memorial gifts be made to: National Multiple Sclerosis Society , the Gidions or Bikers Against Child Abuse.

EVELYN P. STANTON
February 20, 2009

Services for Evelyn P. Stanton 70 of Midland, formerly of Andrews, will be 2:00 PM Monday, February 23, 2009 in McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Covington officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews West Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Evelyn passed away in Midland Friday, February 20, 2009. She was born on October 18, 1938 at Mt. Pleasant,  Texas. Evelyn married Alva Stanton on October 23, 1954 in Clovis, NM. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Andrews. Alva preceded her in death on June 4, 1984, a son Alton also preceded her in death on June 6, 1997.

Survivors include, daughters; Debbie Kirk, Milford, Michigan, Wanda Wright, Midland,  Texas, sisters; Jeannie Couch, Abilene,  Texas, Carolyn  White. Waco,  Texas, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

JEFF J. WOODS
February 18, 2009

Jeff J. Woods, 75, of Andrews passed away Tuesday February 17, 2009 at Home Hospice House in Odessa.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday February 20, 2009 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel.
Rev. Dean Williamson will officiate.
Burial will be in Andrews Old Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral home.

Mr.  Woods was born July 5, 1933 in Rush Springs,  Oklahoma. He moved to Andrews in 1950 from  Oklahoma. He married Ruth Tisdale February 2, 1956 in Ardmore,  Oklahoma.

He worked as a pulling unit operator for many years. Jeff also loved to play the fiddle, and work and tinker on things, he also loved to watch Tiger  Woods play golf.

He is survived by; His wife - Ruth  Woods of Andrews, three sons - William  Woods of Lubbock; Clayton  Woods of Andrews and David "Doodle"  Woods of Andrews; one sister - Pearl Cain of Odessa; Six grandchildren and Five Great-grandchildren.

STEVE SWAN
February 16, 2009

Stephen W. Swan, 63, of Andrews passed away early Monday February 16, 2009 at his home in Andrews.

Funeral servivces will be 2:00 PM Wednesday February 18, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Andrews. Dr. Jeff Donnell, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home in Andrews.

Steve was born may 14, 1945, in St. Joseph, Missouri. Steve served in the US Army. He married Donna Haynie May 5, 1976 in Gainsville,  Texas. They moved to Andrews in 1981 from  Oklahoma City. Steve work for Brownlee Well Service, which became Key Energy Services, for many years. He loved World War II history, old cars and wood working. Steve loved his work as well.
He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Andrews for many years.

Steve is survived by his wife; Donna Swan of Andrews, son; William "Dubber" Swan and wife Jody of Ft Worth,  Texas, two daughters; Tia Clark and husband Chad of Midland and Madina Swan of Midland,one brother; Larry Swan of  Oklahoma City,  Oklahoma, sister-In-Law; Pat Brownlee and husband Rio of Andrews, three grandchildren; Cohen and Celie Clark and Calleigh Swan.

DOROTHY REESE
February 14, 2009

Dorothy Christine Reese, 85, of Andrews passed away early Saturday, February 14, 2009, at Permian Residentual Care Center in Andrews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Eric Hammock will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Dorothy was born April 28, 1923 in Mitchell County,  Texas. She married Clinton Gerald Reese, October 3, 1942, he proceded her in death in 1969.

Dorothy moved to Andrews in 2000 from Levelland.
She was an active member of the Levelland Senior Center and even played in a band there. She loved to quilt, play the piano and play 42. She loved to visit with people and she was a member of the Andrews Church of God.

She is survived by two daughters; Christine Trigg of Abilene, Lois Gather of Andrews, one son; Jimmy Reese of Lubbock,two sisters; Amber Oden of Westbrook,  Texas, Wanda Jameson of San Angelo,  Texas, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

GLENN HAMMITT
February 12, 2009

Glenn Hammett, 72, of Andrews passed away Thursday February 12, 2009 at Regency Hospital in Odessa.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday February 16, 2009 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel.
Father David Mossbarger of Odessa will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home in Andrews.

Glenn was born September 14, 1936 in Bethel,  Oklahoma. He was a long time resident of Andrews.

He worked for Kirby West for 25 years and retired in 2000.

He graduated from Howard Payne University, and was an ordained minister. He also enjoyed photography, and computers.

He is survived by his mother; Reva Hammett of Andrews and his lifetime companion; David Lawson of Andrews.

JAMES W. MOSLEY, SR.
February 11, 2009

Mr. James Welburn Mosley, Sr., age 78, of Andrews,  Texas, died Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at his residence in Andrews,  Texas.

Funeral service will be at First Baptist Church at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 14, 2009, officiating will be Rev. Bryan Johnson
Home Hospice Chaplain of
Andrews,  Texas.Interment will be at Andrews West Cemetery in Andrews,  Texas under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

James was born Sept. 19 1930 to the late Calvin Mosley and the late Rebecca (Fails) Mosley.
James married Wanda Carroll in Dublin,  Texas Feb.15,1947. Moving to Andrews in the early 50's.
James was employed by Amoco Oil Company for 30 years. He was a Deacon of First Baptist Church of Andrews, a member of the Mesquite Burners, Amoco Annuity, past President of Andrews Band Boosters, and one of the original founders of the Little League in Andrews County.
His brother Roy Mosley and parents Calvin and Rebecca Mosley preceded him in death.

James is survived by his wife; Wanda Mosley of Andrews, two daughters; Shirley Morrison and husband Ken of Midland, TX, Jana Bowles and husband Dwight of Owassa, Ok., Jena Conner and husband Randy of Celina, TX, son; Jamie Mosley Jr. and wife Carla of Big Spring, TX, ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and numerous cousins.
