Services for Delbert G. Brewster 68 of Andrews, will be 2:00 PM Sunday, May 31, 2009 at Means Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Doyle officiating. Graveside services will be Monday at 2:00 PM at Mercers Gap Cemetery at Mercers Gap , TX with Rev. Jim Stephen officiating. Services are under the direction of McNett Funeral Home of Andrews.

Delbert passed away Thursday, May 28, 2009 in Livingston,  Texas. He was born on September 21, 1940 in Moran,  Texas. Delbert married Elwana Hawthorne on February 1, 1963 in Andrews. Delbert taught art in the Andrews School system retiring in 1996. He was a member of Means Memorial United Methodist Church.

Survivors include, wife; Elwana Brewster, Andrews, daughter; Regina and husband Mike Paley, McKinney, TX, son; Todd Brewster, Lorena, TX, brother; Robert Brewster, Ogallala, NB and three grandchildren; Luke Paley, Morgan Paley and Connor Brewster.

NANCY NEWMAN ARMSTRONG
May 27, 2009

Nancy Newman Armstrong 80 of Andrews, passed away at Home Hospice House in Odessa Wednesday evening, May 27, 2009. Visitation with the family will be Friday, May 29, 2009 from 5:50 PM to 7:30 PM at McNett Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday May 30, 2009 at Andrews Church of Christ. Kevin Bullard will officiate.

Nancy was born on March 8, 1929 in Aspermont,  Texas, her parents was Doyal "Pete" Pittcock and Nancy Maude Greer Pittcock. Nancy married James Newman on July 23, 1946 , he preceded her in death in 1977.
Nancy married Herschel Armstrong on September 22, 1981 in Andrews. She was a member of Andrews Church of Christ and was a retired secretary for a credit union.

Survivors incslude, husband; Herschel Armstrong, Andrews, sons; Russell and wife Tina Newman, Odessa, Franklin and wife Babbs Newman, Melbourne, FL, daughter; Paula and husband Larry Jackson, Odessa, step-sons; Kent Armstrong, Corpus Christy, TX, Kevin Armstrong, Andrews, Kelly Armstrong, Midland, TX, brothers; Doyle and wife Joann Pittcock, Johnnye and wife Doris Pittcock both of Aspermont, TX, grandchildren; Carman and husband Jim Wommack, Timothy Jackson, Chad and wife Lacey Newman, Bret and wife Brandi Newman, Zack and wife Ashley Newman, Chris Newman, Amber Newman, Kaylee Newman, Sherri Tarwater, Carl Tarwater, Brandy Gray, James Moon, Chance Bridges and fifteen great grandchildren. A daughter Carol Leeper and a brother Sport Newman preceded Nancy in death.

THURMAN THOMAS (T.T.) CARTER
May 27, 2009

Thurman "T.T." Carter, 84, of Andrews passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews.

The family will receive friends 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM Thursday, May 28, 2009 at McNett Funeral Home in Andrews.
Graveside services will be 3:00 PM Friday at Tin Top Cemetery near Weatherford,  Texas, under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Mr. Carter was born August 29, 1924, at home in Parker County,  Texas.
He left high school to join the US Army and proudly served during World War II. He moved from Weatherford to Andrews,  Texas in 1947 where he was involved in many types of businesses in the oil and gas industry.
He married Lorene Ferguson Tyner, November 24, 1965 in Andrews. In 1966 he became a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Andrews.
He was the last remaining Charter member of the Andrews Volunteer Fire Department, he served as Constable for Andrews County. He was a founding member of the Andrews Country Club and was a past member of the Board of Directors for the club. He was a long time member of the Andrews Lions Club. T. T. loved to take trips to his home in Ruidoso, New Mexico and attend the horse races. He was also an avid hunter.

On June 3, 2008, Weatherford High School honored him with his High School diploma for his sacrifice and service to our country. It was something he was very proud of and in was a national news story last summer.

Mr. Carter was preceded in death by, his parents, Ace and Bertha Carter, his first wife and his children's mother, Grace Elizabeth Carter.

He is survived by, His wife; Lorene Carter of Andrews, his children; Elizabeth Ann Williams of Liberty City,  Texas, Barbara Lou Battles of Andrews, Guy Thomas Carter of Kilgore,  Texas, Clyde Cobra Carter, Sr. of Andrews, Katrina Kay Phillips of Lubbock and Clyde Cobra Carter, Jr also of Andrews, step-daughter; Paula Graves of Ft Walton Beach, Florida, brothers; Coy Carter of Weatherford, and Fred Carter of Granbury,  Texas, sisters; Lou Shrider of Ft. Worth; Bertha Jo Potts of Bastrop,  Texas, and Rosie Mimms of Glen Rose,  Texas, thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

RANDALL MARK HUMPHREYS
May 5, 2009

Services for Randall Mark Humphreys 58 of Albuquerque, New Mexico , will be graveside 2:00 PM Monday, May 11, 2009 in the Andrews Old Cemetery with Rev. Rick Doyle officiating. Services are under the direction of McNett Funeral Home in Andrews.

Randall passed away in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Tuesday, May 5, 2009. He was born on December 27, 1950 in Andrews. He married Darla Schlientz in 1973. Randall was a CPA in Albuquerque.

Survivors include, wife; Darla, Albuquerque, daughters; Lindsay Moore, San Antonio, Allison Golightly, Albuquerque, son; Mark Humphreys, Albuquerque, brother; Ron Humphreys, Midland, parents; Allen and Jean Humphreys, Midland, grandmother; Quova Humphreys, Andrews and four grandchildren.

BILLIE MARIE CRAIG
May 3, 2009

Services for Billie Marie Craig 87 of Midland, formerly of Andrews, will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 5, 2009 Graveside in Andrews North Cemetery with Rev. Rick Doyle officiating. Services are under the direction of McNett Funeral Home in Andrews.

Billie passed away in Midland, Sunday, May 4, 2009. She was born in Irving,  Texas on June 18, 1921. Billie married Noble Craig on June 17, 1939 in Dallas,  Texas. Billie was a sales clerk in the retail clothing business before retirement, she was a Methodist. Noble preceded her in death on July 26, 2002.

Survivors include, sons; Bob Craig, Athens,  Texas, Ken Craig, Midland,  Texas, daughter; Betty Ann Underwood, Midland,  Texas, sister; Betty Howell, Irving,  Texas, seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

VELMA JANET DEMPSEY
May 1, 2009

Services for Velma "Janet" Dempsey 76 of Gardendale, will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 6, 2009 in McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews. Dr. Jimmy Braswell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Andrews West Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home. A family visitation will be Wednesday at the funeral home from 1:00 PM untill to 2:00 PM.

Janet passed away in Odessa Firday night, May 1, 2009. She was born on February 1, 1933 in Caldwell,  Texas. She married Thomas L. Dempsey on May 25, 1950 in Littlefield,  Texas. Janet and Tommy owned and operated Tomm's Jewlery for 45 years. Tommy preceded her in death on September 13, 2006.

Survivors include, daughter; Janice Boggs, Gardendale,  Texas, son; Lindle Dempsey, Gardendale,  Texas, brothers; Walter Brooks, Odessa,  Texas, Roy Cecil Brooks, Big Cabin, OK, sister; Helen Viola, Houston,  Texas, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

GEORGAN CONNER
April 29, 2009

Services for Georgan Gilbreath Conner 74 of Andrews, will be 2:00 PM Saturday, May 2, 2009 in Andrews Church of Christ with Mark Wilson and George Ray officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Georgan passed away in Lubbock Wednesday, April 29, 2009. She was born on March 2, 1935 in Ft. Worth,  Texas to Hubert and Jeffie Rowsey Gilbreath. She graduated valedictorian at Brady High School in 1952. She received her B.S. from Abilene Christian College in 1956 and her M.S. in 1961. Georgan married Moody Conner in Brady,  Texas on June 21, 1957. She taught school for 40 years in Snyder, Abilene and Andrews. Georgan retired in Andrews after teaching 35 years in elementary school. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, retired teachers Association and Andrews Church of Christ. Georgan taught many Bible Classes to school age children. She loved life and enjoyed her family, her profession, Tole painting and teaching Tole painting, traveling, gardening, photography, collecting sleighs and sleds and the Green Bay Packers, she was a stockholder in the Packers.

Survivors include, husband; Moody Conner, Andrews, son; Jeff and wife Valerie Conner, Lubbock, daughter; Dr. Connie and husband Dr. Chetlen Crossnoe, Lubbock, three grandchildren; Rachel, Conner and Rebecca Crossnoe.

GLORY DAWN OLIVAS
April 27, 2009

Glory Dawn Olivas, 22, was taken form this life, Monday April 27, 2009 at her home in Andrews.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday May 2, 2009 at Clavary Baptist Church in Andrews. Rev. Harvey Enriquez, Pastor of Northcrest Baptist Church in Andrews will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Glory was born May 17, 1986 in Andrews. She graduated from Andrews High School in 2005.
She was an active member of Northcrest Baptist Church in Andrews. She loved spending time with her family and she loved her children.

She is survived by one daughter - Mallory Olivas and two sons - Tobias Olivas and Jacoby Trevino all of Andrews. Her parents: Cindy and Isreal Marquez of Andrews; Richard Kirby Pena of Andrews; and Alberto and Sonia Macias, Jr. of McAllen,  Texas; Brothers - Shane Shylo Pena of Andrews; Alberto Macias, III and Robert Macias of McAllen; sisters - Roxy Macias of McAllen, and Brittany Marquez of Artisia, NM; Grandparents - Jesse and Gloria Tarango of Andrews; Gloria Pena of Andrews; Alberto Macias, Sr. and Maria Lucila Macias of McAllen; and Jesus and Manuela Marquez of Artisia, NM; Great Grandmother, Erma Manzanarez; and Great-Great Grandmother - Poly Gallegos both of Portales, NM.

GEORGE HOLTON JOHNSON
April 22, 2009

Funeral services for George Holton Johnson, 64, of Lubbock will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Lubbock Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Steven Bloyd officiating. Interment will follow at Idalou Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.

George passed away on April 22, 2009 in Lubbock. Our family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Thames, his medical team, Covenant Medical ICU Team, and Nyki Maddigan. Their compassion and care for our dad was unbelievable and dignified.

George Holton  Johnson was born January 27, 1945 in Lubbock to Fay Isom (F.I.) and Ollie Faye Johnson. He was raised in Idalou and graduated from Idalou High School in 1963. George married his high school sweetheart, Jamie Elizabeth Jones, on August 30, 1963 in Idalou. George’s first love was the Lord and being a Pastor. He knew the true meaning of being a Pastor and not just a preacher. He had a deep love for his family and instilled in them his love and work ethic. He farmed in Idalou for 46 years with the help of his wife and children. He became an ordained deacon in 1972 and an ordained minister in 1979. George had previously pastored Primitive Baptist Churches in Crosbyton and Muleshoe and has been Pastor of the Lubbock Primitive Baptist Church since 1984.

Survivors include his wife, Jamie Johnson; daughter, Shelley Booe and husband, David, of Munday, TX; daughter, Amy Hall and husband, Paul, of Lubbock, TX; son, Wade  Johnson and wife, Lucy of Midland, TX; son, Rex  Johnson and wife, Becky, of Lubbock; ten grandchildren, Cheyenne, Kyle, Jordan, Kylar, Keith, Makenzi, Bayli, Jake, Emily and Holton; sister, Sandra Hays and husband, Duane of Idalou; sister, Linda Denton of Idalou, and his yorkie, Gracie.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1984; his mother in 1996; and a sister, Barbara Jackson, in 1994.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Lubbock Primitive Baptist Church, %Building Fund, 4401 North University, Lubbock, TX 79415 or the Idalou Cemetery Association, PO Box 351, Idalou, TX 79329.

MARY "JOYCE" DAVIS
April 22, 2009

Joyce Davis, 78, of Andrews passed away Wednesday Aprill 22, 2009 at Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews.

Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Saturday at First Baptist Church in Andrews. Dr. Jeff Donnell, pastor, will officiate. Arrangments are under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Joyce was born December 1, 1930 in Sweetwater,  Texas. She married Charles N. Davis, Sr. March 3, 1970 in Andrews. She was an LVN at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.

She is survived by Husband - Charles N. Davis, Sr. of Andrews; Two Sons - David Hubbard of Andrews and Buddy Davis of Seminole; three daughters - Donna Greaves, of Andrews, Marylou Connor of Andrews and Debbie Thurman of Spokane,  Washington; seven brothers; Robert Durham of Seagraves, Royce Durham of Brownfield, Donald Durham of Granbury, Alton Durham of Kermit, Roland Durham, Myrdise Durham both of Seminole and Wayland Durham of Andrews, one sister; Sybil Watson of Seminole, 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by both parents, one sister Lawana Howard, one brother Von Dee Durham and two grandaughters, Farrah and Kristie Hubbard.
