HAZEL SEWELL
April 11, 2009

Hazel Sewell, 87, of Andrews passed away Saturday, April 11, 1009 at Hospice House in Odessa.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Monday at Andrews West Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Rev. Rick Doyle pastor, Meams Memorial United Methodist Church will officiate.

Hazel was born May 1, 1921 in Hobart,  Oklahoma. She married R.D. Sewell August 18, 1936 in Canyon,  Texas. They moved to Andrews in 1957 from Raton, NM.
She was a bank Teller for a number of years.
She was a member of Means Memorial Uninted Methodist Church in Andrews for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband R.D. Sewell in 2000, and her son Terry Sewell in 2002.

She is survived by a host of frienda and loved ones.

FLOYD L. GODDARD
April 8, 2009

Floyd Leon Goddard, 81, of Andrews passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Permian Residential Care Center, in Andrews.

Floyd was born July 20, 1927 in Newkirk,  Oklahoma. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He worked for Coca COla as a book keeper.
Floyd never married but lived a happy life taking care of his parents and brothers and sisters.
Floyd was a christian man who lived by the golden rule.
He moved to Andrews in 2005 from Mineral Wells,  Texas.

He is survived by: two brothers - Buddy Goddard of Andrews and George Goddard of Mineral Wells,  Texas; and two sisters - Audrey Ethridge, and Arlene Tabner both of Andrews.

Floyd will be cremated and his family will have a final disposition at a later date in Mineral Wells.

MONA CHAMBLISS
April 4, 2009

Services for Mona Chambliss 77 of Andrews, will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 7, 2009 in McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kevin Covington officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews West Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home. Mona passed away in Odessa Saturday afternoon, April 4, 2009. She was born on May 27, 1931 in Weinert,  Texas. Mona married Curtis Chambliss on August 29, 1952 in Lovington, NM. She graduted high school in Wellman in 1948. She attended Wayland Baptist where she was a member of the Flying Queens basketball team. She received her masters at  Texas Tech. Mona was an elementary P.E. teacher in Brownfield for 2 years and in Andrews for 29 years before retirement, she was a member of Second Baptist Church. She loved going to the Casino, rolling dice and watching sports.

Mona was preceded in death by her parents; Quincy and Betty McBeth, sister; Juanice Tucker, brother; Donald McBeth and a son Dennis Chambliss.

Survivors include, husband; Curtis, Andrews, son; Eddie Chambliss and wife Karron, Sweeny, TX, daughter; Cheryl Hobbs, Sweetwater, TX, brothers; Ralph McBeth, San Antonio, TX, Joe McBeth, Andrews, TX, sister; Edna Pool, Odessa, TX, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

WILMA PIPES
March 28, 2009

Services for Wilma Pipes of Eunice, New Mexico, formerly of Andrews, will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 31, 2009 in McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glenn Pipes, Rev. Charlie Simons and Rev. Hank Simons officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews West Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Wilma passed away in Midland Saturday, March 28, 2009. She was born on December 18, 1913 in Hamilton,  Texas. She married Carrel Pipes on August 10, 1935 in Covington,  Texas. She was a home maker and a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include; son Glenn Pipes and wife Terri, Eunice, NM, three grandaughters and four great grandchildren.

There will be a visitation after the funeral service at the First Baptist Church fellowship hall in Andrews.

J.L. (Jr.) BAUCOM
March 24, 2009

Services for J.L. (Jr.) Baucom 80 of Andrews, will be 10:00 AM Saturday, March 28, 2009 in McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bob Zap will officiate. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Monday, March 30, 2009 at Ringling Memorial Cemetery in Ringling,  Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of McNett Funeral Home of Andrews.

Jr. passed away in Odessa Tuesday, March 24, 2009. He was born on September 2, 1928 in Zanies,  Oklahoma. Jr. was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He married Von Lyons on January 6, 1946. Jr. retired from Halliburton Services in 1985. Jr. was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 1024, he was past Master of the Lodge and had received his 50 year pin from the Lodge, he was also a member of the Odd Fellow Lodge and the First Baptist Church in Andrews.

Survivors include, wife; Von Baucom, Andrews, son; James Baucom, Andrews, daughter; Barbara Kirk, San Antonio, TX, brothers; O.E. Baucom, Lawton, OK, Cecil Baucom, Granbury, TX, E.C. Baucom, Hobbs, NM, Charles Baucom, Tyler, TX, sisters; Jo Williams, Kerville, TX, Donnie Carrell, Odessa, TX seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Memorials in lieu of flowers can be made to Home Hospice 903 North Sam Houston, Odessa, TX 79761

GENE EDWARD DOZIER
March 22, 2009

Gene Edward Dozier, 79, of Andrews passed away Sunday March 22, 2009 at Hospice House in Odessa.

Services will be 2:00 PM Friday March 27, 2009 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery.

Gene was born July 5, 1929 in Jacksonville,  Texas.
He served as a Staff Sargeant in the US Air Force.
He married Getrude Anne Wesley February 2, 1952 in Columbia Mississippi. They moved to Andrews in the mid 1950's from Seminole,  Texas.
He retired from Exxon after 32 years of service.
Gene loved to play the drums and played in country and western bands, he also loved to coach little league baseball and football and basketball. Gene loved to play golf and help others with their game.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James Earl Dozier.

He is survived by: his wife Anne Dozier of Andrews, Three sons - Mark Edward Dozier of Sherman,  Texas; Damon Michael Dozier of Hattiesburg, MS; and Timothy Earl Dozier of Andrews. One daughter - Dianna Kay Sisson of Princeton,  Texas; Two brothers - John Othman Dozier of Corsicana,  Texas and George Warren Dozier of Tyler,  Texas. and Nine Grandchildren.

ANITA YANCY
March 21, 2009

Anita "Nanny" Yancy, 78, of Andrews passed away March 21, 2009 at Regency Hospital in Odessa.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday March 25 at Andrews Old Cemetery, under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
A memorial service will follow the graveside at 11:00am McKinney Acres Baptist Church
with Jamie Beard officiating.

A family Visitation will be Tuesday 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at McNett Funeral Home.

Mrs. Yancy was born September 8, 1930 in Alpine,  Texas. She moved to Andrews in 1945 from Pecos. Where she later graduated from Andrews High in 1948. She married R.C. "Bud" Yancy January 30, 1950 in Lovington, NM. He preceded her in death in 2001.

Mrs Yancy loved to read and sing. She enjoyed John Wayne and Gene Autry movies. She lived in New York City during WWII and became and remained a New York Yankees fan.

She is survived by: two daughters - Jody Oxley and Kimberly Yancy both of Andrews. one sister - Doris Gully of Huntsville,  Texas; Three grandchildren Kathleen Lehman, Natalie Yancy and Nicole Yancy; two great-grandchildren - Keegan Lehman and Reece Yancy.

ANTONIO NATIVIDAD
March 20, 2009

Antonio H. Natividad, 54, of Andrews passed away Friday March 20, 2009 at University Medical Center in Lubbock.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Visitsation will be 9:00 AM - 1:00 Thursday March 26, 2009 at McNett Funeral Home.

Mr. Natividad was born June 4, 1954 in Pecos,  Texas.
He married Gloria Subia, in 1976 in Andrews. He worked on Pulling Units in the oil fields of West  Texas.
He enjoyed working on cars taking care of his chickens and roosters, he loved to dress sharp, and he loved to dance.

He is survived by: his wife Gloria Natividad of Andrews; Three daughters - Margie Natividad of Andrews, Christi Natividad of Odessa, and Jessie Natividad of Andrews; Two Sons - Mark and Michael Natividad both of Andrews. five brothers - Aurelio Natividad, Jr.; Roy Natividad, David Natividad, and Hector Natividad all of Portales, NM; and Alex Natividad of Texico, TX; Three sisters- Eva Dominenguez, Bertha Lee; Dianna Natividad all of Portales, NM; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

GEORGE SCROGGINS, SR.
October 14, 2009

Services for George B. Scroggins, Sr. 85 of Andrews, will be 2:00 PM Saturday October 17, 2009 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Zap officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews Old Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

George passed away at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews Wednesday October 14, 2009. He married Evelyn Brown on October 6, 1943 in Rayville, LA. George was a member of the First Christian Church and a retired drilling superintendent. He served in the Navy in WW II.

Survivors include, wife; Evelyn Scroggins, Andrews, daughters; Billie Parrish, Midland, Glenda Scroggins, Odessa, Jerri Scroggins, Hunt, TX, son; George Scroggins, Jr., Odessa, half brothers; Bobby Scroggins, Abilene, TX, James Scroggins, Monroe, LA, sisters; Bessie Jones, West Monroe, LA, Dorothy Johnson, Monroe, LA, half sisters; Sue Parker and Rose Scroggins both of Monroe, LA, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

C.L. (BUDDY) PRICE
October 12, 2009

Curtis Larry (Buddy) Price passed away on Monday, October 12 at 1:40 PM at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.

Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Andrews Church of Christ with John Snider officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Burial will be in the Andrews Old Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Buddy had been diagnosed with lymphoma in 2007 and leukemia earlier this summer. He was born on April 7, 1937 in Andrews, TX, to Henry Dell (H.D.) Price and Ora Lee Nicholson Price, pioneer Andrews residents.

Buddy graduated from Andrews High School in 1956. He married his high school sweetheart, Iva Myrle Waldrop, on November 27, 1957 in Andrews. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2007. After many years working at various oilfield jobs throughout the Permain Basin, Buddy retired from Baker Service Tools in 1999 with 33 years of service. He was a member of Andrews Church of Christ where he served as a deacon for many years. Buddy served two terms on the board of directors of the Andrews Senior Citizen Center.

Buddy is survived by his wife; Myrle Price Andrews, his father; H.D. Price and wife Redah Cole Marley Price,Andrews, one daughter; Kimberly Myrle (Kim) Long and husband Steve of Andrews, two sons; Curtis Larry Price, Jr. and wife Cindy of Mission, TX, Cory Lane Price and wife Janis of Austin, TX, six grandchildren; Kyle Long and wife Jacey of Andrews, TX, Blair Long LeMond and husband JoJo of Andrews, TX, Amanda Long Hernandez and husband Michael of Houston, TX, Cody Price and wife Bree of Lubbock, TX, Chelsey Price of Lubbock, TX, Caden Price of Austin, TX, six great-grandchildren; - McKenna, Teegan and Karter Long (Kyle and Jacey), Newt and Shaylee LeMond (Blair & JoJo), and Evan Price (Cody & Bree),two sisters; Nelda French of  Whiteface, TX, Cherry Potter and husband Leslie of El Paso, TX, one brother; Lee Price and wife Shirley of Bastrop, TX, numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother; Ora Lee Price, two sisters; Barbara Ann Price and Zena Joyce Price, step-mother; Bertha Price and brother-in-law; Jack French.
