Mr. Earl D. Baker (Bake), age 82 of Kerrville, TX passed away Monday, March 15, 2010 in a Kerrville hospital. He was born July 25, 1927 in Dearing, KS to Walter Baker and Evelyn Stutville Baker. He worked as an engineer for Mooney Aricraft, Boeing Aricraft and Kawasaki; but was best known for his work in the kitchen. He was of the Catholic faith. He served in the US Navy SeaBees in World War II.
He married Lois Lee Benning on February 6, 1954 in Coffeyville, KS. She survives along with a daughter Mary Ann Baker of Austin, TX; a son, Shadie L. Baker of Kerrville; two grandchildren, Cassie Baker of Austin and Sonnie Baker of Kerrville and a great grandchild, Samuel Baker of Kerrville.
A celebration of life for Mr. Baker will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. at Buzzie’s BBQ.
Memorial remembrances may be made to the American Heart Association.

Rebecca Sue Harrison Baker, born on February 16, 1941, wife of Gerald Lee Baker, of Bandera and Paige, TX, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2010. She was born and raised in Houston, TX, daughter of Sam G. Harrison and Lena Estelle Huebotter Harrison.
Rebecca graduated from the University of Houston with a B.S. in Psychology. She was a 50 year sister in the Delta Gamma Sorority. She was the major force behind the formation of the Reach to Recovery benefitting the American Cancer Society and was the founder of the Ride for Research which benefitted the same cause. One of her life long passions was breeding, riding and showing Paint and Quarter Horses in local and national competitions. She also loved trail riding with her friends and family. A true  Texas cattle rancher, she and her husband Jerry have run a successful cattle outfit for 39 years. Rebecca was an active member in the Bandera United Methodist Church and enjoyed the fellowship and company of the "cut-ups". After moving to Bandera, Rebecca realized her dream of home design and interior decorating. Always the lady, poised and graceful with a mischievous twinkle in her eye, a song in her heart and a smile to the world.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry of Bandera, TX; brother, Sam Harrison, Jr. of Houston, TX; Mrs Ellen  White of Chappell Hill, TX; daughters, Holly Ann Baker of Seligman, AZ; and Heidi Lynn Wyatt of Pipe Creek, TX; and a large family of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will take place at Bandera United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 2:00PM, officiated by Mr. Don Giles and Reverend Everett Boyce. Interment will follow at the family ranch in Bandera, TX..
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Bandera United Methodist Church at PO Box 128, Bandera, TX 78003.

Cynthia Massey Bazan, age 48, passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010 in a San Antonio hospital. Cindy was born on March 26, 1961 in Kerrville. She grew up in Kerrville and Richardson, TX. She had been part owner of a beauty shop in Allen, TX until 1992. She lived in Princeton, TX until moving back to Kerrville in 2007.
Cindy will always be remembered for her kind, caring and giving love to all she knew. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by mother and stepfather, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Fahrenthold of Kerrville; father, Henry Massey of Ingram; grandmother, Mrs. Sibyle Jordan of Kerrville; daughters, Shannan Rogers of Princeton and Cristen Bazan of Kerrville; son, Jonathan Bishop of Hawaii; sisters, Melinda Culverhouse and husband, Jeff of Princeton; brother, Barry Fahrenthold and wife, Shawna of Kerrville; grandchildren, Jaiden, Jordan and Jaylea Rogers, Myranda, D.J. and Karen Glover; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 7, 2010, 6-8 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels.
Graveside services will be held Monday, March 8, 2010, 2 PM at Sunset Cemetery in Mountain Home officiated by Pastor Joseph Fegenbush.
Pallbearers will be Cody Ahrens, Chad Ahrens, Tommy Aaron, Alton Flores, Jason Flores and Stephen Flores.
Memorials may be made to American Red Cross Hill Country Chapter, 333 Earl Garrett, Kerrville, TX 78028 or to a charity of one’s choice.

Michael (Beau) Thomas Beaudoin passed away September 20, 2009. He was born February 21, 1949 to John Emmet Beaudoin and Patricia Ann Beaudoin in Fargo, North Dakota. Michael married Rebecca Margaret Sims in 1971 and they lived in Harper, TX since 1978. They had their family of three children, Jacqueline, John, and Jacob Beaudoin and his two grandchildren Lauren and Meagan. Family and friends knew Michael to be extremely hard working, thoughtful and giving, always generous with his time and gifts. Private services will be held at a later date. Mike Bell, age 59 of Kerrville, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2010 in a local hospital. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in Mike’s name to Grimes Funeral Chapels, 728  Jefferson, Kerrville, TX 78028 to help with funeral expenses. Arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.

Thelma Mae Benedict, 84, peacefully passed into God’s eternal kingdom Saturday, March 6, 2010.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor can be sent to Trinity Baptist Church in Kerrville. Visitation was held on Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at a later date.
Thelma was born August 28, 1925 in Marion, Ohio to Walter and Hazel Bratton. She graduated valedictorian from Harding High School in Marion. She has been married since 1945 to Donald E. Benedict and has resided first in Marion and then moved to Hondo, TX in 1950, and finally to Kerrville, TX in 1959 and has resided there since. She was a long time member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was a loving and gracious homemaker, cook and horticulturist, especially violets. She will always be remembered for her beauty, and kind and tender spirit.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jane Marshall
Survivors are: Husband of 64 years, Donald E. Benedict of Kerrville; sons, Thomas Bradley Benedict and wife, Carlynn of Arlington, TX and Gary Zane Benedict and wife, Penny of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Catherine Jackson, Claire Rose, Blair Benedict and Kaysie Benedict and great granddaughter, Olivia Jackson.

 Jefferson William "J.W." Bishop, age 70 of Kerrville, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010 in an Austin hospital. He was born November 27, 1939 in Uvalde to Jim and Thelma Odessa (Wallace) Bishop. On June 10, 1979, he married Connie Craig in San Antonio.
J.W. was a heavy equipment operator. He was hardworking and one of the greatest diesel mechanics around. He loved hot rods, hunting and fishing.
J.W. loved his kids and grandchildren. He was kind, generous and always willing to help others.
Survivors include wife, Connie Bishop of Kerrville; daughters, Lynn and Rost Kaune of Cedar Creek, Kathy Howard and JoAnna Ramirez of Marble Falls, Christine Martinez of Kerrville, Jennifer and Kevin Morgan of Kerrville and Shannon and James Borjes of Kerrville; sons,  Jefferson William Bishop, Jr. and Sharon of Camp Wood and Carl and Dawn Bishop of Elgin; brothers, Dugan and Jewel Bishop of San Antonio, David and Judy Bishop of Leakey and Sammy Jack and Charlotte Bishop of Del Rio; 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010, 3 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels with interment following at Mountain View Cemetery.

Mrs. Emma Turner Bissonette, age 84 of San Antonio, TX passed away Friday, March 12, 2010 in a San Antonio hospital. She was born January 23, 1926 in Beltrami Co., MN to Emil Carlson and Zola Landon Carlson. She was a housewife and a member of the Methodist Church.
She married Richard T. Turner on December 26, 1946 in Harlingen, TX. He predeceased her on August 16, 2002. She married Bruce Bissonette in July, 2006. He predeceased her on December 9, 2009. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Turner on February 10, 1999.
Survivors are a daughter, Kathryn Mathis (Milton) of San Antonio; a son, Rev. Richard Turner (Bernice) of Groves, TX; six grandchildren, Deanna Duggan (Doug), Stephanie Yaryan (Jason), Richard Turner, III (Elena), Brian Weir, Tiffanie Aisar (Naveed) and Hillary Weir and eight great grandchildren, Allica, Madeline, Farah, Seth, Zane, Jonathan, Genevive and Asher.
Graveside services from Mrs. Bissonette will be held on Monday, March 15, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Cemetery in Houston, TX with Jeff Scearce officiating.
Memorial remembrances may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 5801 W.  Jefferson, Groves, TX 77619.

Felix Paul Blaschke, 87, of Bandera, TX passed away on Friday, March 26, 2010. He was born to Herman Joseph Blaschke and Myrtle Whitworth Blaschke on April 3, 1922 in Waring, TX.
He was a member of many well known organizations including the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and Republican National Convention. He served his country in WWII as a Seebee in the U. S. Navy. He faithfully tithed and generously gave to his church and various charitable organizations locally and across the world.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Eugene Mullins Blaschke; 2 sons, Lindy Smith and Robert Smith; grandsons, Judge Mike Smith of Bandera and Timothy Smith of Pasadena, TX; grandson-in-law, Larry Costello and great grandson, Alex Smith.
Survivors include: brothers, John C. Blaschke of Boerne, TX, and Howard W. Blaschke and wife, Fern of Omaha, Nebraska; daughter-in-law, Nell Smith Drenner and husband George of Arlington, TX; grandchildren, Brenda Smith Costello of Lakehills and fiance' Mark L. Miller, Gary W. Smith, Larry D. Smith, Wayne E. Smith and wife Brandy, W. Ray Smith and wife Pat, Dale E. Smith and wife Linda, Neda Smith and Melba Smith; 12 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Extended family members include: Helen Hollis of Boerne, Clifton Kieschnick, Joshua and Amy Jureczki and their children, Arthur, Cody and Kimberly of Bandera.
Viewing will take place at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera on Saturday, April 3, 2010, beginning at 10:00 AM followed by Family Visitation from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM. The Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 PM., officiated by Mr. Martin Smith with interment at Bandera Cemetery.
Pallbearers include: Larry Smith, Wayne Smith, Ray Smith, Dale Smith, Clayton Smith and
Clifton Kieschnick.
Honorary Pallbearers include: Employees of the former Rodger Stevens Co. and current M & P Construction Co., where Felix was employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator for many years.
The family of Felix Blaschke wish to express their appreciation to the Bandera Rehabilitation
and Health Care Center, Vista Care Hospice and Caring Senior Service for their loving care and support.

Rick Bowman, age 64 of Kerrville, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2010 in a local care center. Rick was born October 5, 1945 in Inglewood, CA to William and Irene Bowman. After living in California for 60 years, he moved to Kerrville with his wife of 18 years, Marie Bowman and their youngest son Billy in 2006, to be closer to her parents, Mary and Joseph Hauser. Their oldest son, Brandon, his wife Jennifer, and their son Michael later joined them in Kerrville.
As an only child, he truly loved being part of the Hauser family: Tom Hauser (Kerrville, TX); Jim Hauser (Pacagoula, MS); Dave Hauser (Kerrville, TX) and children-David and Edward; Pat Hauser (Springfield, IL) and wife, Julie-children Jonathan and Ashley; Cathy Scozzari (Mountain Home, TX) and husband, Mark-children Matthew and Jennifer; and Theresa Byfield (San Marcos, TX) and husband Craig-children Charles and Christina.
Rick is also survived by his children in California from a previous marriage to Kathy Grotts: Brian Stout with his wife Tina and their son Joey, and Denise Bellegia and her children; Clifford and his wife, Bonnie; Mitchel and his wife, Jolie, and their daughter Kennedy; Kelton; and Heather. Their son, Dennis Stout is deceased.
Rick was a people person. After his years as a Fireman in Big Bear City, CA, of which he was most proud, he worked as a salesman, helping people at Standard Brand Paints and Canning’s Hardware before retiring in 2003. He surrounded himself with people who served people. His friend, Glenn Campbell served as a Los Angeles County Sheriff. Glenn’s wife Silvia, continues working at Home Depot. His friend, Fred Rodriguez, served his entire career as a Los Angeles County Fireman. His friend, Mike Morsay owned his own business and his wife, Linda, worked with Rick at the hardware store with their friend Curtis Smith. His friends in Big Bear City, CA, Pat and Carol McDonald also served the people. Pat was a Los Angeles County Policeman for 26 years and his wife Carol worked as a nurse at the La Palma Medical Center. All of his friends were great people to have around. Even after moving to  Texas, Rick spent countless hours on the phone with his friends remembering people they used to know and the people they had helped.
Rick enjoyed deep sea fishing off the coast of California, auto racing, working for a time with Penske Racing, and watching football. He was a big Tivy High School fan. When he was no longer able to attend the games, he would sit on the porch overlooking the stadium listening, then watch the game on TV the next morning. His favorite college team was UCLA, not USC, which was always an ongoing rivalry amongst friends in California, and his favorite Pro team was the Los Angeles Rams when they were still in Los Angeles. He enjoyed watching television especially Poker Tournaments, Wrestling, and movies with John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. And of course, he was a big Elvis fan.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2010, 7 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels officiated by Sonny Kaufhold.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Amber Dawn Browning was born December 25, 1978. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 14, 2009.
Amber is survived by her parents, Carl and Mary Jo Browning of Kerrville,  Texas; brother, Sean Browning and his wife, Angie of Decatur,  Texas and their children, Payton, Hayden and Zayne; brother, Dr. Travis Browning and his wife, Melinda of Irving,  Texas; grandparents, Carl and Izora Browning of Midland,  Texas; Aunt Barbara Dunton and her husband, Darrell of Midland,  Texas and their three children, Jason, Jenny and Justin and his wife, Tricia; Aunt Patsy Browning of Amarillo,  Texas, Aunt Laurie Ring and husband, Glen of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Uncle Martin Gomon and wife, Diana of Melbourne, Australia. Also surviving is Amber’s fiancé, Bart Smith of Dallas,  Texas.
Amber was a graduate of Kerrville’s Tivy High School, where she graduated with honors and was the district champion in girl’s golf during her senior year. Amber attended  Texas Tech University where she graduated with honors in three years with a degree in Advertising and Marketing. Amber was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Upon graduation from  Texas Tech, Amber moved to Dallas and went to work for the PGA Tour in the marketing and membership department of the TPC at Craig Ranch in Frisco,  Texas. A private golf club of which Amber was part of the ground breaking and growth to the quality facility it is today. Five years after arriving at Craig Ranch, Amber left for Law School at SMU in Dallas. She was called to be an attorney and accomplished her dream by graduating, again with multiple honors in May 2009. She made Law Review, mock trial, and finished Cum Laude. She went to work in October for Strasburger & Price, LLP in Dallas and recently learned of her passing the bar exam and was sworn in as a licensed attorney in the State of  Texas. Even though her time in practice was brief, she would recite one of her favorite quotes and say "I’m Living a Dream." Amber and her fiancé Bart Smith, also an attorney, both loved golf, watching football and doing fantasy football. They had many great friends at Hurricane Creek Golf Club and enjoyed lots of good times together. Amber was a beautiful and talented young lady that brought joy to everyone she met and we love her and will miss her dearly.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, November 18, 2009, 2 PM at First United Methodist Church of Kerrville, officiated by Dr. Warren Hornung.

Arnold Lee Davis, 67, of Bandera, passed away on April 13, 2009. He was born on July 13, 1941 to the late Wilford Frank Davis and his mother, Dorothy Tomlinson Davis in San Antonio, TX. He was a civil service employee at Kelly Air Force Base for 28 years. After retirement, he worked for Jellystone Park in Bandera. He was an avid sports fan. He never missed a San Antonio Spurs or Dallas Cowboys game. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing. He will be missed by his loving family and Friends.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Ball Davis of Bandera; mother, Dorothy Davis of Bandera; daughter, Jeannie Hartman and R. of San Antonio; daughter, Pamela Berry and Paul of New Braunfels, TX; son, Scott Davis and Laura of Adkins, TX; brother, Frank Davis and Rhonda of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Curtis Hartman, Melissa Hartman, Amanda Berry, and Lauren Davis.
Graveside services will be held on April 16, 2009 at San Fernando Cemetery III in San Antonio at 10 AM.

Robert David Faircloth, Sr. was born to Captain Faircloth and Minnie Marie Smith in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, March 23, 1943. Died in Willis,  Texas on March 28, 2010 with his wife and children by his side. There is peace now knowing he is in no pain and catching all the fish he wants.
He is survived by his wife Lawanna Haslem Faircloth, Willis,  Texas, children, Dana Andrade and family, Kerrville,  Texas, Robert D. Faircloth, Jr., wife Sharlene and family, Salt Lake City, Utah, Michael Faircloth, Sheri and family, Salt Lake City, Utah, McClane Duncan, Sandra and family, Conroe,  Texas, Kirk Duncan, Lindsay and family, West Point, Utah, Landen Brooksby, Sunny and family, Salt Lake City, Utah, mother Marie, Kerrville, sisters Janet, Judy, Gina, many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Bob traveled all over the world in his profession in which he was well respected. He truly loved his work and the people he worked with. He was a Master Mason, a member of Stephenville Lodge and Basin Lodge #20 Roosevelt, Utah in which he was the master of the lodge for several times in a row. He was honored in serving in the Grand Lodge of Utah in several positions.
Visitation will be at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville,  Texas from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, April 2, 2010. The funeral will be at 11 am, Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Grimes Funeral Chapels with a visitation shortly before the services. Burial will follow directly at the Oak Rest Cemetery in Medina,  Texas.
He will be honored as a veteran by the Veterans since he proudly served in the US Navy.
