Guadalupe Alma Carrington

Guadalupe Alma "Pooh" Carrington left this world to be with the Lord on July 14, 2004. Mrs. Carrington was born August 17, 1961, in Kerrville to Estevan Chacon, Sr. and Serapia Moreno. She was a devoted mother and aunt and a dear friend to many.
Survivors include her ex-husband and long time friend, Kenneth Carrington, Sr. Of Kerrville; her children, Alexis Chacon, Kenneth Carrington, Jr. and KeShawn Carrington, all of Kerrville. She had one granddaughter that was the light of her life, Aaliyah Castillo of Kerrville. She is also survived by five sisters, Henrietta and spouse John Fadai, Sylvia Serrano, Olivia and spouse Tony Vela, Sr., all of Kerrville; Patsy and spouse Oscar Palomo of Holland, Michigan and Leticia Chacon of San Antonio; and one brother, Jon P. Moreno of Victorville, California; sister-in-law, Anita Aguirre Chacon of Kerrville; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Joe Henry Chacon, father Estevan Chacon, Sr, mother, Serapia Moreno, her brother Estevan "Dingo" Chacon, Jr.

Prayer services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, July 16, 2004, Grimes Funeral Chapels.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 17, 2004, Calvary Temple Church. Interment to follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Pallbearers are Joshua Vela, Milton Lopez, James Chacon, Joe Vela, John Aguirre Chacon and Jose Arriola in honor of their aunt. Honorary pallbearers are Andrew Fadai, Gabriel Chacon, Ryan Reyes, Kyle Moreno and Tony Vela, Jr.

Memorials may be made to the  Texas Transplant Institute, 820 Ewing Halsell, Suite 280, San Antonio,  Texas 78229. A special thanks to Pastor Del Way and family, Calvary Temple Church, Edgewater Care Center, Sid Peterson Hospital Hospice, Kerrville Police Department, Balcones Heights Police Department and the Nursing Home Ministry of CTC.

Elizabeth Carson
Born on September 7, 1910 in Kerrville, TX

Elizabeth J. Carson, age 96, a lifelong resident of Kerrville, passed away Monday, February 26, 2007 in a local nursing home. She was born September 7, 1910 in Kerrville to John and Clara (Word) Wilson.
Mrs. Carson was a housewife and member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughters, Lucille Lauchlan of Rochester, NY and Patricia Fritz and husband, Bernie of Kerrville; grandchildren, Michael Carson, John Carson, Marty Lauchlan, Chris Fritz, Patti Jarvie, Kristi Lauchlan and Lauren Fritz; 16 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jesse Carson; three sons, Jesse Clay Carson, Joe Warren Carson and Allen Carrol Carson; and a granddaughter, Katrina Erin Fritz.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2007, 5-7 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels.

Services will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2007, 10 AM at Grimes Funeral Chapels officiated by Dr. Sam Junkin. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

William Richard "Bill" Castle, III
Born in June 9, 1939 on June 9, 1939
Departed on March 28, 2004, and resided in Bandera, TX

Bandera, TX

William Richard "Bill" Castle, III, age 64, died Sunday, March 28, 2004 at his ranch home on Highway 16 near Bandera. He was born in San Antonio to William Richard Castle, II, and Stella Marie Powers Castle.

In 1958, Bill graduated from  Texas military Institute, attended the University of  Texas and St. Mary’s University. He was a member of the  Texas Cattlemen’s Association, the  Texas Cavaliers, the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, and several other organizations in Bandera and the surrounding area. He owned and operated Bill Castle Real Estate agency in Bandera. Castle enjoyed ranching and hunting, and was an avid history buff.

Services will be held Friday, April 2,2004, 2:00 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels, Bandera with Dusty Britches officiating. Interment will follow at Tres Lomas Cemetery, with Arkey Blue, Rudy Robbins, Fred Graff, George Riley, Doug Levingston, and Ripp Farris serving as pallbearers. A party celebrating Bill’s life will be held at Arkey Blue’s Silver Dollar following the interment.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to GRIMES FUNERAL CHAPELS of Bandera.

Jesus "Jessie" Chappins
Born in San Marcos, TX on March 3, 1925
Departed on April 7, 2003 and resided in Kerrville, TX.

Mr. Jesus "Jessie" Chappins, age 78 of Kerrville, went to be with our Lord, Monday, April 7, 2003. He was born March 3, 1925 in San Marcos,  Texas to Jack and Guadalupe Baiz Chappins.

Jessie was employed by Southwest  Texas State University in San Marcos for twelve years and was a maintenance man for the Kerrville Independent School District. He was an avid gardener and loved fishing.

He is survived by two sisters, Eva Medina and husband, Paul of Kerrville and Mary Mendez of San Marcos; two brothers, Fred Chappins of Norwalk, CA and Joe Chappins and wife, Olivia of Kerrville; and twelve nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Guadalupe Chappins; one brother, Lazaro Chappins and one sister, Julia Chappins.

A visitation and scripture reading will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapels on Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Matias Rodriguez officiating.

Funeral services will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapels on Thursday, April 10, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Matias Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories.

Pallbearers will be Jessie Mendez, Albert Mendez, Robin Clapper, Stanley Clapper, C.V. Casillas and Ricky Chappins. Honorary pallbearers will be Fernando Ramos, Sabino Cortez and Amardo Ybarra.

Jessie will be missed by his family.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of GRIMES FUNERAL CHAPELS of Kerrville.

Montie Milton Chipman
Born in Bandera, TX on June 20, 1910
Departed on May 22, 2003 and resided in Bandera, TX.

Montie Milton Chipman, age 92 of Bandera, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2003 in a local care center. He was born June 20, 1910 in Bandera to Robert A. and Carrie Head Chipman. On December 31, 1932 he married Avis Smith in Bandera.

Mr. Chipman was a Deacon in the Baptist Church, the last surviving child of 16 born to Robert and Carrie Chipman, and he was a Railroad Conductor, retiring from the Santa Fe Railroad Company after 32 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Avis of Bandera; one son, Stan Chipman of Lancaster, CA; two grandchildren, Steven Chipman of Lancaster, CA and Susan Poole and husband, Glen of Tempe, AZ and two great grandchildren, Garrett and Grayson Poole.

Services will be held Thursday, May 29, 2003, 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Bandera with Rev. Frank Pullin officiating. Interment will follow at Bandera Cemetery.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at Grimes Chapel in Bandera from 6-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity on one's choice.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of GRIMES FUNERAL CHAPELS of Bandera.

William Price Clarkson
Born in Corpus Christi, TX on June 13, 1913

Mr. William Price Clarkson, age 90 of Kerrville, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at his residence. He was born June 13, 1913 in Corpus Christi, TX to W.T. and Phillipine (Rankin) Clarkson. In May of 1937, he married Evelyn Joy Greer in Corpus Christi. She preceded his death on October 6, 2003.

Mr. Clarkson was a self employed Draftsman and of the Presbyterian faith.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Allen and Nancy Jennings, both of San Antonio; one son, Edward Clarkson of Mills County, TX; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

No services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dietert Senior Center, 617  Jefferson, Kerrville, TX 78028.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to GRIMES FUNERAL CHAPELS of Kerrville.

Zona May Click, was born December 24, 1911 and passed into the loving hands of The Lord Jesus on October 3, 2004 at the age of 92 years in Fredericksburg,  Texas.
Her caring presence will be greatly missed by all. Zona May (Aunt Polly) or Granny was a woman of great compassion, a very strong character and very generous. She loved The Lord Jesus, being a housewife and a mother, reading poetry, a good clean house, gardening, flowers, and working with her husband, Jake on several Hill Country ranches. Her family was very important too. She and J.P. (Jake) were married November 19, 1931. They were married 55 years.

She was born at the Crockett Community on the West Prong of the Medina River and went to school at Crockett School with her brothers and sisters, Harvey, Arthur, Heman, Calvin, Edith, Bert, and Jewell, who all preceded her in death. Her husband, Jake, passed away in 1986 and son, Jim, passed away in 1997.

She is survived by her daughter, Jo Nell and husband, Melvyn Britt; grandson, Shane and Therese Britt; two great grandchildren, Little Shane and Lilly: sister, Verna Evans of Brady and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church of Fredericksburg.

Services will be held Wednesday, October 6, 2004, 3:00 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Bandera, officiated by Pastor Ed Giese and Pastor Dave Ebert. Interment will follow at Oak Rest Cemetery in Medina.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2004, 5-7 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to GRIMES FUNERAL CHAPELS of Kerrville.

Elaine Marie LaBorde Clifford
Born on August 6, 1945 in Cottonport, LA

Elaine Marie LaBorde Clifford passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at a San Antonio hospital. She was born on August 6, 1945 in Cottonport, La .to Robert and Bernice Marie LaBorde Sr.. On October 14, 1972 she married Claude Donald "Don" Clifford.
Elaine was known for her warm loving personality and generous nature. She could make sincere friends of strangers within a few minutes in her company. It was not unusual for these friendships to last even until the present. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family was the heart of Elaine’s life, she brought life and joy into every corner. Her lifetime focus was on those less fortunate. She never turned her back on a person or animal in need. Kindness mercy and a deep respect for life were with her always. A true Cajun woman she described herself as Cajancoeur, meaning a feminine Cajun heart. She was rightly deeply proud of her Cajun roots. She truly had an angelic soul; she was sensitive, gentle and empathetic. An avid reader and master genealogist she had worked on her family tree for many years. Elaine read constantly and was articulate. Her extensive reading resulted in an acumen of amazing depth and broadness. She saw the data and information she collected and organized as a gift to the generations who followed her. She was meticulous and precise with the information she collected and would spend days to insure accuracy in her work. She saw it as putting love into the things she did, as was her nature.

Survivors include her husband Don Clifford of Lakehills, daughters Robin Gayle Clifford of Pineville, LA, Judith Marie Clifford Crisp of Menard, TX, and Dana Clifford Hawkes of Salt Lake City UT,; sons, Robert Gregory Clifford of Schertz, TX, and James Lee Clifford of Lakehills; sister Linda Marie Gaspard of Cottonport La, brothers Robert La Borde Jr. of Cottonport and Chris Joseph LaBorde of Mansura, LA; also 11 grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Patricia Ann LaBorde, and brother Ricky Paul LaBorde.

Funeral Services were held on Sunday, March 18, 2007 at 5 PM at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Bandera with Mr. Ron Briley officiating. Interment will follow in Cottonport, LA. The family requests that memorials be made in Elaine's name to the Disabled Veterans of America.
