Mr. David W. "Pete" Hough, age 77 of Kerrville, passed away Friday, December 3, 2004 in a local hospital. He was born June 15, 1927 in Coleman County, TX to Leonard Brant Hough and Elsie (Densmore) Hough. In August of 1950, he married Mary McKinley in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.
Pete served in World War II and Korea while in the US Army. He was a Mason for 50 years and a member of First Baptist Church of Kerrville. He retired from LCRA after 27 years. Pete loved livestock and enjoyed buying and selling it.
Survivors include wife, Mary Hough of Kerrville; sisters, Pauline Hubbard of Abilene, Lorene Baker of Lovington, NM, Christine McDonald of Artisian, NM, Hattie Samuelson of Texas City, and Lou Koch of Kerrville; brother, L.B. Hough, Jr., of Kerrville; and grandson, David Blackstock of Kerrville.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Lisa Hough.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 5, 2004, 5-7 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels.
Services will be held Monday, December 6, 2004, 2:00 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels officiated by Rev. Frankie Enloe. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Hough, Joey Samuelson, Volney Hough, Robby Koch, David Blackstock and Bob Hubbard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce Hough, Joe Hough, and Earl Stevens.

Pauline Howell

Mrs. Pauline Howell, age 81 of Kerrville, Texas passed away Monday, September 20, 2004 at her residence. She was born June 8, 1923 in Lytle, Texas to Willie McMurrain Gray & Velma Gladys McNiel Gray and had been a Kerrville resident for 8 years, formerly residing in Vanderpool, Texas. She was a professional photographer and a member of First United Methodist Church in Kerrville, the Texas Professional Photographers Association and Utopia Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Howard Howell in April 20, 1979.
Survivors are: three daughters, Bitsy Smith & husband Ron and Janet Ward & husband, Jim, all of San Antonio, Texas and Susan Howell of Kerrville; two sisters, Mary Nell Hall of Austin, Texas and Dee Bartley of Bandera, Texas; four brothers, Mack Gray of Kingsland, Texas, Preston Gray of Bandera, Texas, Jim Gray of Hondo, Texas and Hank Gray of San Antonio; five grandchildren, Charles Smith, Rebecca Smith & Kimberly Skehan, all of San Antonio, Jordan Mynier of Ventura, California and Justin Mynier of Kerrville and six great grandchildren, Deborah Smith, Sarah Smith, Stephen Smith, Kenneth Smith, Rachel Lyons and Sean Skehan.
Graveside services for Mrs. Howell will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Vanderpool Cemetery with J. Paul Bruhn officiating.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Smith, Melissa Smith, Rebecca Smith, Kimberly Skehan, Jordan Mynier and Justin Mynier.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels.
The family requests memorial remembrances be made to the Freeman Fritz Animal Shelter or the Humane Society of Kerrville in lieu of flowers.

Mr. Robert L. Hurst of Kerrville, Texas, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2004, at the age of 63. He was born January 31, 1940, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Herbert and Alice Hurst.
Bob married Barbara Park in Kansas City and they have two children, Cyndi McFalls of League City, Texas and Allen Hurst of Albuquerque, New Mexico. They traveled extensively overseas while he was in the armed services and later when he was a Branch Chief at USDA in Washington, D. C. Bob earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Central Missouri State College.
Bob and Barbara moved to Kerrville, Texas, after retiring. He is survived by Barbara, Cyndi and Allen. Bob has two brothers, Steve Hurst and Jimmy Hurst, and two sisters, Barbara Rader and Kitty Talkington, all in the Kansas City area. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Rob, Kitty, Aaron and Ariel. Bob left many friends in Kansas City, Washington, D.C., and Kerrville. He will be especially missed by friends who shared his enthusiasm for computers and collecting military miniatures.
The family will honor his memory in a service in Kansas City, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family requests friends to send memorials to the Hill Country Youth Ranch, PO Box 67, Ingram, Texas 78025 or the charity of their choice.
H.B. Hyde

Mr. H.B. Hyde, age 60, a lifelong resident of Ingram, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2004 in Kerr County, Texas. He was born July 25, 1943 in Kerrville, TX to Earl and Lillian Esther (Cobb) Hyde. On April 20, 1963, he married Nada L. Cade in Ingram, TX.
H.B. retired from the U.S. Navy as a Warrant Officer III and owned and operated a lawn and tree service business.
He was a member of Grace Bible Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nada L. Hyde of Ingram; daughter, Holly Elena Sammon and husband, David of Austin; son, H. Preston Hyde of Kerrville; sister, Lucille Luper of Pinola, Miss.; and granddaughter, Ava Jan Sammon of Austin.
Services will be held Monday, March 29, 2004, 3:00 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels, officiated by Rev. Keith Lamb. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Mt. Home.
Pallbearers will be Michael Brandt, Joey Brandt, Lewis Graves, Steve Cade, Clifton Blakeley and Jeff Blakeley.

Mrs. Eleanor A. Ives, Age 83, of Kerrville, Texas, died on Friday, August 13, 2004, in a San Antonio hospital. Mrs. Ives, a resident of Kerrville since 1994, was born on February 20, 1921, in Baguio City, Philippines, to James Moses and Modesta Ilagan Moses.
She married Thomas Edward Ives on November 8, 1953, in Los Angeles, California. Mrs. Ives was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She volunteered at the Kerrville Veterans Administration Hospital and often helped with the Bingo.
Survivors, Husband, Thomas E. Ives of Kerrville; one daughter, Stephanie Ann Stewart of Oregon; two grandchildren, Jessica Ross and Crystal Stewart; two nephews and one niece; and great nephews and nieces.

Milton "Mike" Jacobs

Milton "Mike" Jacobs, age 92 of Kerrville, passed away Friday, December 12, 2003 at a local nursing home. He was born April 16, 1911 in Brooklyn, NY to Louis and Sadie (Wirnick) Jacobs. On June 19, 1937, he married Isabelle Hoffman in Brooklyn, NY.
Mike served in the Merchant Marines and was Chief Engineer on a ship. He was a member of Kerrville Masonic Lodge #697 A.F. & A.M.
He is survived by his wife, Isabelle Jacobs of Kerrville; sons, Steven Jacobs of Tom’s River, NJ, Eric Jacobs of Kerrville and Laurence Jacobs of Saint Georges, Bermuda; and three grandchildren, Robin Lowery, Jason and Maxwell Jacobs.
Services will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2003, 2:00 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels, under the auspices of Kerrville Masonic Lodge #697, A.F. & A.M. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

John Henry Jarvis

Mr. John Henry Jarvis, age 81 of Kerrville, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2003 at his residence. He was born October 21, 1921 in Detroit, Michigan to Charles E. Jarvis and Anna Devers Jarvis. He married June Marie Kurzhals on January 11, 1943 in Detroit.
John served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was employed by the Ford Motor Company as an Engineer. Mr. Jarvis had been a resident of Kerrville since 1986.
Survivors include his wife, June Marie Jarvis of Kerrville and daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Moyer and Steve Bottorff of South Euclid, Ohio.
A family gathering will be held Sunday, June 8, 2003, from 2-4 p.m. at the family house, 217 Oakview in Kerrville.

Mrs. Helen "Maria Helene" Jenschke, age 95, passed away Friday, May 21, 2004 at a Houston nursing home. She was a resident of Houston for 5 years and resided in Kerrville from 1938-1999.
Mrs. Jenschke was born September 1, 1908 in Fredericksburg, TX to August and Ella (Grona) Kunz. She married Leo C. Jenschke, Sr. on September 7, 1938 in Fredericksburg.
Mrs. Jenschke was a homemaker and member of Notre Dame Catholic Church.
She is survived by daughters, Jeanette Pawelek and husband, Alfred of Houston and Barbara Jenschke of Austin; son, Bobby Jenschke and wife, Sharon of Kerrville; sister, Ella Marie Kortesmaki of Houston, MO; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Jenschke, Sr. on January 16, 1998; son, Patrick Jenschke in 1942; sisters, Olega Jenschke, Iola McFarland, Tillie Green, and Ellie Ballard; brothers, Ernest Kunz, Paul Kunz, Walter Kunz, Norbert Kunz, Herman Kunz, Alvin Kunz and John Kunz.
The Holy Rosary will be recited Tuesday, May 25, 2004, 7:00 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels, officiated by Deacon Charles Domingues.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, May 26, 2004, 10:00 a.m. at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Father Michael Boulette as celebrant. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
