Troy 'Doc' Dosser

Services for Troy "Doc" Dosser, 72, of Athens, were 11 a.m., Saturday, May 1, in the Eubank Memorial Chapel in Mabank, with Rev. John Kendall officiating.

Interment followed in the Post Oak Cemetery in Henderson County, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home of Mabank.

Mr. Dosser died April 28, 1999, in Dallas following a short illness.

He was born April 7, 1927, in Kerens, to Walter  Jackson and Clara (Hinton) Dosser. Mr. Dosser was a lifetime resident of Athens and a member of the First Love Fellowship Church in Gun Barrel City. He retired in 1989 from Maxwell-Herrington in Tyler and was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served in WW II. Mr. Dosser was preceded in death by a brother, Aaron Dosser and sister, Lorain Stark.

Survivors include; wife, Kathy Dosser of Athens; daughter, Pamela McClintock of Athens; son, Troy D. Dosser of Athens; sister, Juanita Riddlesberg of Malakoff; brothers, Judd Dosser of Bastrop, La.; Jimmy Dosser of Athens; grandchild, Ryan McClintock of Athens; other family members and a host of friends.

Pallbearers were; Michael Rutledge, William T. Thompson Jr., Hodge Boyd, Doyl Loden, Bobby Rylant, and Joe Dwight.

Honorary pallbearers were; JR Gross, Al Coe and Darrell Green.

Delbert Leon Kimbrell, Sr.

Services for Delbert Leon Kimbrell, Sr., 79, of Mabank, were 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 4, in the Eubank Memorial Chapel in Mabank, with Rev. Jack Dyer officiating.

Interment followed in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Mabank under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home of Mabank.

Mr. Kimbrell died May 1, 1999, in Mabank following a long illness.

He was born Jan. 3, 1920, in Sulphur Springs, to Andrew  Jackson and Lilly Mae (McGee) Kimbrell. Mr. Kimbrell had lived in Mabank since 1973 and was Baptist by faith. He was self-employed and retired in 1986. Mr. Kimbrell was preceded in death by a son, Delbert Leon Kimbrell.

Survivors include; wife, Cecil Marie Kimbrell of Mabank; sons, Jerry Tyrone Kimbrell of Rockwall, Billy Eugene Kimbrell of Rowlett, Tyrwitte Boyd Kimbrell of Flower Mound; daughter, Brinda Joyce Moore of Rowlett; sisters, Opal Glover of Mesquite and Lacy Tunard of Norman, Okla.; brother, A. J. Kimbrell of Seagrays; 15 grandchildren; other family members and a host of friends.

Pallbearers were Coy Dean Kimbrell, Farren Douglas Kimbrell, Linnie Wayne Kimbrell, Ricky Boyd Moore, Mark Eugene Moore, Randall Dale Williams Kimbrell and Tyrutte Boyd Kimbrell.

Margaret Elizabeth Williams

Services for Margaret Elizabeth Williams, 83, of Malakoff were 2 p.m., Saturday, May 1, at First Baptist Church of Malakoff, under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home, with Rev. Jack Allen and Rev. D. Casey Perry officiating.

Interment followed at the Malakoff Cemetary.

Mrs. Williams died April 29, at East  Texas Medical Center in Athens.

She was born May 27, 1915, in Frankston. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death in 1948 by her first husband Raymond E. Venable, superintendent of Cross Roads School District at the time of his death, granddaughter Nancy Townley of Malakoff in 1973, and son Glynn F. Venable of Grand Saline, in January of this year.

Survivors include; husband of 42 years, Alfred Williams of Malakoff; daughters, Martha Townley of Malakoff, Nancy and her husband Bill Cavanaugh of Bedford, and Kay Bonner of Garland; daughter-in-law Sue Venable of Grand Saline; brother, Jim Finley of Trinidad; brother, Bobby Finley and his wife Janie Finley of Gainesville; sister-in-law, Frances Finley of Dallas; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers included Bonner and Margaret Poole, Joe and Joyce Faulk, Jim and Ann Blakeney, Alma Jessie McLain, Marguerite Cade and Dr. Nolan (Buster) Geddie.

Roy Dial Ward Sr.

Arrangements for Mr. Roy Dial Ward Sr., 68, of Payne Springs were made through Eubank Funeral Home of Mabank.

Mr. Ward died April 25, 1999, in Payne Springs.

He was born July 16, 1930, in Texarkana, Ark., to Clyde and Lettie Ward.

Survivors include; mother, Lettie Powell of Texarkana, Ark.; wife, Janie Ward of Houston; daughter, Sherry Ward of Houston; sons, Roy Ward Jr., Bruce Ward, Bryan Ward and Eric Ward of Houston; aunt, Imogene Dial of Garland; other family members and a host of friends.

Lois Sinclair

Services for Lois Sinclair, 89, of Terrell and formerly of Levelland, were 10 a.m., Monday, May 3, at the Anderson-Clayton Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Terrell.

Graveside services followed on Tuesday, May 4, in the Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock, under the direction of Anderson-Clayton Brothers Funeral Home of Terrell.

Mrs. Sinclair died May 1, 1999, in Terrell.

She was born May 5, 1909, in Erick, Okla., the daughter of the late James and Lillie Files Montgomery. Mrs. Sinclair had lived most of her life in Levelland and was a member of the College Avenue Baptist Church of Levelland as well as the Woodmen Circle for many years. She was married to L. D. Sinclair on July 10, 1927 and he preceded her in death in 1986. Also, she is preceded in death by a son, Glen Sinclair in 1972 and a grandson, Ronnie Sinclair in 1998.

Survivors include; daughters, Patsy Rogers and her husband, Pete of Terrell, Betty Metzler and husband, Dick of Mabank; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Floy Bedford of Decatur as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimers Association, 2910 Swiss Ave., Dallas,  Texas 75204.

Jerry Ted Mullins

Services for Jerry Ted Mullins, 63, of Kemp, were 2 p.m., Sunday, May 2, in the Eubank Memorial Chapel in Mabank, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home of Mabank, with Rev. Lucille Rice and Barbara Tims officiating.

Mr. Mullins died Friday, April 30, 1999, in Trinidad.

He was born April 10, 1936, in Tool, to Tommy Herman and Allie May (Mize) Mullins. Mr. Mullins lived in the Cedar Creek Lake area all his life and was Baptist by faith.

Survivors include; brothers, Veral Mullins of Hurst, Earl Mullins of Mabank, and Ned Mullins of Kemp; sisters, Betty Colvin of Tool and Virginia Dalrymple of Trinidad; numerous nieces and nephews along with a host of friends.

Charles B. Hilburn

Rosary for Charles B. Hilburn, 60, of Kemp, were 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 4, in the Anderson-Clayton Brothers Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 5, at the St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Andrew Melel officiating.

Interment followed in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Mabank under the direction of Anderson-Clayton Brothers of Kemp.

Mr. Hilburn died May 3, 1999, in Dallas, following a short courageous battle with cancer. He was a member of the St. Judes Catholic Church in Gun Barrel City and a member of the Knights of Columbus, and was a Shriner. He was married to Elizabeth (Hover) Hilburn on July 5, 1992, in Fort Worth.

Survivors include; wife, Elizabeth Hilburn of Kemp; daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Robert Eberle of North Richland Hills, Annette and Gary Smith of Moore, Okla, and Susan and John Euler of North Richalnd Hills; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Jody Hilburn of Norman, Okla., Chris and Diane Hilburn of Sugarland, and Jarrett Hilburn of Fort Worth; six grandchildren, Amber Kay Smith, Lacy Eberle, Katherine, Steven and Kristine Euler and Brandon Hilburn; parents, Armon and Frances Hilburn of Tulsa, Okla.; step-son, Michael Cleland of Fort Worth; sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances Jo and Ronnier Dear of Sapula, Okla., and Marsha Gayle and John Duplantis of Hourna, La.; brother and sister-in-law, Joseph "Junior" and Marilyn Hilburn of Okla.; many loving friends at Bright-Trucking and other family members and friends.

Pallbearers were Chris Hilburn, David Hilburn, Robert Eberle, Gary Smith, Jarrett Hilburn and Jerry Noonan.

The family has asked that donations be made to the American Cancer Society and the St. Judes Building Fund.

James C. "Coke' Carothers

Services for James C. "Coke" Carothers, 90, of Gun Barrel City, were held 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 13, in the Eubank Memorial Chapel in Mabank, with Mr. Ken Maddox officiating.

Interment followed at 12:30 in the Grandview Cemetery in Grandview, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home of Mabank.

Mr. Carothers died Sept. 10, 1999, in Athens, following a short illness.

He was born March 11, 1909, in Grandview to James and Fannie Inez, (Davis) Carothers. Mr. Carothers was a member of the Beacon Church of Christ in Gun Barrel City and a member of the Masonic Lodge #33 AF & AM in Cortez,  Colo. Mr. Carothers was a graduate of Colorado School of Mines in Galen,  Colo., and retired in 1972 from National Lead Industries in Houston, where he traveled world wide as a geologist. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Syble Carothers in 1993.

Survivors include; wife, Marjorie (Lewis) Carothers of Gun Barrel City; step-sister, Ruby Brown of Italy, other family members and a host of friends.

Bobbie Faye Smith McAnally

Family visitation for Bobbie Faye Smith McAnally, 58, of Mabank, was held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, Sept. 13, under the direction of Anderson-Clayton Brothers Funeral Home, of Kemp.

Mrs. McAnally died Sept. 11, 1999 at her home in Kemp, following a long illness.

She was born Sept. 12, 1940 in Rockwall County, to Georgie Frank and Imogene (Alderson) Smith. Mrs. McAnally was a retired school teacher, teaching in Sherman,  Oklahoma City, Eustace, Terrell and Dallas, over a 33-year period. She was married to Harvey McAnally on Sept. 10, 1959 in Terrell. A brother, Howard Eugene Smith preceded her in death.

Survivors include; husband, Harvey McAnally of Mabank; brothers, George David Smith of Ellensburg, Wash., and Jimmy Dale Smith of  Texas; other family members and a host of friends.

Leo R. Funnell

Graveside services for Leo R. Funnell, 73, of Malakoff, were 10 a.m., Tuesday, in Laural Oaks, Mesquite, with Rev. James Howard officiating.

Interment followed in Laural Oaks Cemetery, under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Malakoff.

Mr. Funnell died Sept. 11, 1999, in Athens.

He was born May 20, 1926, in El Paso, Ill. to the late Mary Barker. Mr. Funnell had lived in this area for five years and was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include; wife, Lenora Funnell of Malakoff; sons, Leo R. Funnell of Haywood,  Calif., David Funnell of Kewanee, Ill. and Billy Joe Funnell of Andover, Ill.; eight grandchildren and a host of friends.

Thelma R. Turner

Services for Thelma R. Turner, 89, of Eustace, were 1 p.m., Feb. 25, in Eubank Chapel, Canton, with Rev. Louie Barron officiating.

Interment followed in Moorehead-Melton Cemetery, Eustace, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Inc., Canton.

Mrs. Turner died Feb. 22, 2000, in Athens.

She was born Jan. 30, 1911, in Ardmore, Okla., to John A. and Mary Margaret Warren Dixon. Mrs. Turner was Baptist by faith and spent most of her life in Eustace.

Survivors include; sons; Welcome L. Turner of Mabank, Jerald L. Turner of Chico, and Eldon T. Turner of Eustace; daughters, Betty Oates of Eustace, Lorene Louise Dickerson of Seagoville and Carolyn Sue Simpson of Gun Barrel City; six grandchildren; and a large number of great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Rick Gibbs, Eugene Oates, Terry Turner, Emmett Simpson, Steven Splawn, Jimmy Dickerson and Kevin Turner.

Claudean Norton

Services for Claudean Norton, 83, of Mabank, will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 26, in the First Baptist Church of Mabank, with Rev. James Harms officiating.

Interment will follow at 3:15 p.m., in Oaklawn Cemetery in Mabank, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home of Mabank.

Mrs. Norton died Feb. 23, in Longview.

She was born July 8, 1916, in Kaufman, to Curtis Lee and Viola Bell (Brown) Norton. Mrs. Norton was a lifetime resident of Mabank and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mabank. She owned Norton Beauty Shop in Mabank. Mrs. Norton was preceded in death by her parents and brother, E. C. "Coleman" Norton.

Survivors include; sister-in-law, Alliene  Johnson Norton of Longview; nephews, Allen "Al" Norton and Paul Norton, both of Longview; niece, Nancy Norton Hutson of California; numerous other family members and a host of friends.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Mabank, 113 Mt. Vernon, Mabank,  Texas 75147 or American Diabetes Foundation, 8440 Walnut Hill Lane, Suite 260, Dallas,  Texas, 75231.

Nelda Miller

Graveside services for Nelda Miller, 71, of Murchison, will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 26, in Moorehead-Melton Cemetery in Henderson County, with Rev. Cliff Cooper officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home of Mabank.

Mrs. Miller died Feb. 23, 2000, in Athens.

She was born March 14, 1928, in Eustace, to Jester B. and Pauline (Stewart) Graham. Previously of Dallas, she had lived in Murchison for 18 years and was Baptist by faith.

Survivors include; loving husband, Leon Miller of Murchison; sister, Maido O. Mason of McKinney; other family members and friends.

Peggy Jean Williams

Services for Peggy Jean Williams, 67, of Gun Barrel City, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 26, in Eubank Memorial Chapel in Mabank, with Rev. George Yarger officiating.

Interment will follow at 1 p.m., in the Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home of Mabank.

Mrs. Williams died Feb. 23, 2000, in Athens.

She was born Jan. 29, 1933, in Dallas, to Homer and Sabrina (Stephens) Skinner. Previously of Irving, she had lived in Gun Barrel City for seven years and was a member of the Harbor Baptist Church in Payne Springs and a member of the Tamarack Ladies Club.

Survivors include; son, Gary Williams and wife, Celene of Gun Barrel City; and a host of friends.

Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Foundation, 8440 Walnut Hill Lane, Suite 260, Dallas,  Texas 75231.
