Garcia
Eloisa Garcia, 85, died at her residence on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004.
Rosary was recited Monday at Treviño Funeral Home at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, with Father Patrick Donohoe officiating. Burial followed in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Pallbearers were John Benjamin Guevara, Richard Aguirre, Bryan Garza, Scott Garza, Genevieve Guevara and Sonya Garcia.
Mrs. Garcia was born in Sinton on Jan. 1, 1919, to Servando and Ruperta (Torres) Flores. She resided in Beeville and was a housewife and a Catholic.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bence Garcia, who died on Nov. 19, 1996, a brother, Joe Torres, and three sisters, Olga Santellana, Teresa Vela and Bence Baldillez.
Survivors include her daughters, Bertha Guevara of Beeville and Gloria Garza of San Antonio; a son, Jimmy Garcia of Beeville; and a sister-in-law, Julia V. Torres.

Green
David Winfield (Moon) Green, 81, died at his residence in  Texas City on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004.
He was born in Burkburnett on Aug. 10, 1923, to George and Hattie Green. He graduated from Wichita Falls High School and attended the University of  Texas for two years, where he started and lettered for the football team in 1945.
He graduated from Midwestern University, where he also played football and was a two-year letterman. He was a teacher and coach in  Texas for 35 years. He coached in Munday for three years, Beeville for 13 years and in  Texas City for 19 years.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Barbara Green; a son, David W. Green Jr., three daughters, Jacque Matthews and husband Ossie, Judy Green and Becky Jones; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in  Texas City, with his brother-in-law, Kenneth Istre, officiating. Interment followed at Forest Park East Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the American Heart Association or to the First United Methodist Church of  Texas City.

Gonzales
Sarah Delgado Gonzales, 85, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, at her residence in Beeville.
She was born on Nov. 3, 1919, in the Clareville community, to Genaro and Nicolasa (Alvarez) Delgado.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilberto Gonzales, Sr., on Dec. 3, 1981, and her parents.
Survivors include her daughters, Viola (Gregorio) Moreno of Beeville and Patricia (Gilbert) Perez of Refugio; two sons, Gilbert Gonzales Jr. and Rene (Norma) Gonzales, both of Beeville; three sisters, Mary Salazar of Victoria, Esther Delgado of Chicago, Ill., and Elvira Reyes of Lansing, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited at 7 o’clock tonight (Wednesday) at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Pete Elizardo officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bart and Eric Perez, Christobal and Joshua Gonzales, Charles Martinez and Michael Cantu.

Gray
Fred Gray, 58, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005.
Visitation was held Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Galloway and Sons Funeral home. Funeral services took place today (Wednesday) at 10 a.m. at the same location with Chaplain Michael Hubbard officiating. Special music included “Peace in the Valley,” “Beyond the Sunset” and “Sweet By and By.” Burial followed in Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were William Schirmer, Darin Shea, Kevin Crawford, Jesse Crawford, Michael, Mark and Paul Gallagher. Honorary pallbearers were his fellow co-workers from Capehart Housing.
Mr. Gray was born in Beeville on Jan. 7, 1947, to C.C. Pete and Avis (Freeze) Gray. He married Brenda Collins on May 4, 1979, in Beeville. He worked as maintenance director at Capehart Housing. He liked to go fishing and enjoyed working and spending time in his garden.
He was preceded in death by his father, C.C. Pete Gray.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Collins Gray of Beeville; a daughter, Laurie Crawford of Houston; two grandsons, Kevin and Jesse Crawford of Houston; his mother, Avis Gray of Beeville; his sisters, Patsy Schirmer and husband Henry of Beeville and Beverly Hargis of Glen Rose; and a brother, Larry Gray and wife Gayle of Bryan.

Hernandez
Joe F. Hernandez, 82, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, in Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
Mr. Hernandez retired from H-E-B after 31 years of service. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by a son, Joe Edward Hernandez, and a grandson, Jacob Garza.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Garza Hernandez; a daughter, Imelda H. (Alex) Rodriguez of Beeville; a sister, Esther Duran of Rosenberg; seven grandchildren, Troy, Jason, Marissa and Leticia Hernandez, Sandi Wasik, Nicolas and Alexis Rodriguez; and four great-grandchildren, Christopher, Brianna and Arianna Hernandez and Isaiah Tapia.
A rosary will be recited tonight (Wednesday) at 7 o’clock at St. James Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. James Catholic Church. Burial with full military honors will follow in Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2.
Pallbearers will be Adam D. Treviño, Troy and Jason Hernandez, Nicolas Rodriguez, Ernest Gonzales and Alex Rodriguez.

Martinez
Maria Angelita Sauceda Martinez, 44, of San Antonio, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005.
Visitation was held Saturday and a prayer service at 7 p.m. that evening at Galloway and Sons Chapel in George West. A graveside service was held Sunday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Max Perez and Brother Pete Garza officiating at the Premont Cemetery in Premont.
Miss Martinez was born to Pablo G. and Victoria (Sauceda) Martinez in Laredo on March 20, 1961. She lived in Brenham previously and moved to San Antonio in 1997. She was active at Rosewood Care Center where she enjoyed many of the activities and spending time with her friends. Miss Martinez was a member of the Church of Christ in George West.
Survivors include one sister, Maria Mata of Brazoria; four brothers, Raul (Margarita) Martinez of George West, Rudy Martinez of Houston, Jose (Rachel) Martinez of Conroe, Ricky (Nancy) Martinez of Houston; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Miss Martinez was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Mary Ann Martinez.

Medina
Virginia P. Medina, 87, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, in Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
Mrs. Medina was born in Beeville on Dec. 18, 1917, to Agapito and Virginia Presa. She was a member of St. Anne’s Society at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the church choir.
Mrs. Medina was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and son, Raul Medina Sr. and Raul Medina Jr. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Angelica Soliz and Feliz Peña, and one brother, Abraham Presa. Mrs. Medina is survived by one son, Arnold (Duby) Medina of Beeville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday at Treviño Funeral Home. Mass was celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Special music was provided by Fernando Cisneros and Rosie Maldonado. Burial followed at Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were R.A. Medina, Donny Medina, Chuck Medina, Homer Soliz Jr., Homer Soliz Sr., Ray Soliz and Jerry Romero.

Moreno
Osbaldo O.N. “El Capitan” Moreno, 90, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, in Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.
He was a retired machinist and a veteran, having served with the U.S. Army, a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Moreno was preceded in death by one sister, Elena “Helen” Moreno, six brothers, Leopoldo, Jose l., Audelio, Gilberto, Oscar and Pete Moreno.
Mr. Moreno is survived by his caregivers, niece and nephew, Alfredo and Lila Tijerina, and also several other nieces and nephews.
A rosary was recited Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home. Mass was celebrated Monday at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Burial followed in Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2 with full military honors.

Routh
Margie Hodge Routh, 90, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005.
Visitation was held Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Galloway and Sons Funeral home. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Traylor officiating. Special music included “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art” with organist and singer Doug Burton. Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Bobby Williams, Charles Williams, John Bond, Joe Heatherly, Buddy Trammell and Gene Segura.
Mrs. Routh was born in Granite Quarry, N.C., on Aug. 10, 1915, to John Albert and Gladys Marguerite (Bringle) Hodge. She married William Marion Routh on March 3, 1934, in Greenville. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Beeville and a member of the First Baptist Church in Portland. She resided in Portland and was a former Beeville resident.
She worked 25 years as an office manager for J.C. Penney’s in Beeville. She was a member of AARP, Women’s Auxiliary (hospital volunteers), a former prison visitation ministry volunteer, a member of Eastern Star and past worthy matron.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Survivors include her daughters, Lawana Carlin and husband Charles of Lafayette, La., and Sue O’Shields and husband Grady of Portland; a son, Robert M. Routh and wife Linda of Lafayette, La.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Edith Fae Goin and Jesse Maurine Creed, both of Fort Worth.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund and South  Texas Children’s Home.

Salinas
Catarino De La Rosa Salinas, 81, of Quincy, Fla., died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Francisca V. Salinas of Quincy, Fla.; a daughter, Elida Cruz of Tampa, Fla.; three sons, Refugio, Israel and Guadalupe Salinas, all of Quincy, Fla.; two sisters, Refugia Cervantes of Hereford and Mary Tagle of Mathis; 46 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Monday at Treviño Funeral Home in Mathis from 1 to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mathis. Burial followed at Descanso Eterno Cemetery.

Mrs. Delgado
Margarita A. Delgado, 67, died on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, in Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville. She was a Beeville resident, a housewife and Catholic.
Mrs. Delgado was born on Feb. 22, 1938, in Beeville to Ida Padilla Rodriguez and the late Lorenzo Andrada. She was married to Alejandro “Alex” Delgado of Beeville.
She enjoyed cooking, baby-sitting, sewing and dancing.
Rosary was recited on Sunday at 7 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home. Mass was celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Patrick Donohoe and Father Eddie Garcia officiated and special music was provided by John Medina. Burial followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2. Pallbearers were Michael Rojas, John Delgado, Ernest Moreno, Adolfo Guerrero, Tim Teboe and Joe Davis.
She was preceded in death by her father; stepmother, Cuca Andrada; son, Jerry Wayne Delgado; niece, Judy Lynn; and nephews, Freddy Jr. and Lorenzo “Larry” Andrada, all of whom were killed in a car accident on May 12, 1985.
Survivors include her husband, Alejandro “Alex” Delgado of Beeville; her mother, Ida Padilla Rodriguez of Houston; son, Kirk J. (Robyn) Delgado of Beeville; sister, Hortensia Andrada Bowers of Houston; brother, Freddy (Olga) Andrada of Beeville; grandchild, Jerry Marshall Delgado of Beeville; several uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
