Miller
Ray Therman Miller of Houston, 73, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005.
Graveside services will be held at Brookside Memorial Park in Houston on Monday at 11 a.m. Visitation will be prior to the service at Brookside Funeral Home.
Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his wife Betty Miller, son Gary Miller, brother James Isaac Miller Jr., sisters Verna Bea Brown and Vernice Norris.
Survivors include his daughters, Tammy and husband James Foster, Karen Sue, Terrie Leigh and Kellie Renee Miller; a brother, Bill Brown and wife Lulani; grandchildren Matthew Miller, April Foster, Karena Ramirez, William Foster, Tori Vela, James Foster, Ciara Vela, Christopher Foster, Ashley Miller and James Miller.
Arrangements were handled through Brookside Funeral Home, Houston.

Tucker
Viola Machost Tucker, 83, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005.
Visitation was held Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. Funeral services were to be held Friday at 4 p.m. at the same location with Doyle Barnett officiating. Special music was to be provided by singer Tucker Rackley. Burial was to follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were John Adkins, Bill Shroyer, Ken Chesshir, Tony Gonzales, Tucker Rackley, Gary Shaw, Pat Martin and Robby Kaul. Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Woodall, Max Luna, Milton Breithaupt, Floyd Tucker, Tom Brown, Gene Holland, Robert Schumaker and members of the American Legion.
Mrs. Tucker was born in Yorktown on May 28, 1921, to Ferdinand and Ethel (Wofford) Machost. She was married to J.B. Tucker, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Word of Life Church, as well as the American Legion and the Windmill Emmaus Community.
Survivors include her daughters, Judy Luna and husband Mitchell and Jennifer B. Tucker; two granddaughters, Ashley Paige and Ryan Allison Luna, all of Beeville; and a sister, Beulah “Dolly” Breithaupt of Houston.

Mrs. Hardwick
Zora Lee (Nelson) Hardwick, 73, died on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006. She was a George West resident, a homemaker, and a member of the First Baptist Church in George West.
Visitation was held Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006, from 5:30-8 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West. A funeral service was to be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in George West with Rev. Bruce Irving and Rev. Doug Hinchcliff officiating. Burial was to follow at the George West Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Paul Dirks, Mike Stuart, Redgy Sullivan, Leonard Hoskins, Jody Sullivan, J.W. Turner, Cliff Hoskins, and Leroy Hoskins.
Honorary pallbearers were August Caron, Bill Phillips, Robert Dirks, Tige Brown, and Douglas Stuart.
Special music in-cluded or-ganist Nancy Davis, singer Jody Sul-livan, and songs, “In the Garden,” and “Amaz-ing Grace.”
Mrs. Hardwick was born in Beeville on Sept. 22, 1932, to the late Zora Lee  Johnson and Harvey Leonard Nelson. She completed 12 years of school and Business College and was married to William R. Hardwick on Feb. 3, 1961, in George West. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Hardwick of George West; three sons, Harvey Hardwick (Julie) of George West, Henry Hardwick of Houston, Craig Hardwick of New Braunfels; four grandchildren, Megan, Jeffrey, Christopher, and Emily Hardwick; and one brother, Harvey Leonard Nelson of Beeville.
Those who wish may make donations to Bean-Dirks Memorial Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 98, Beeville, Tx. 78104.

Gonzales
Edward J. Gonzales, 37, of Beeville, died Friday, March 17, 2006.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will be cremated.
Mr. Gonzales was born May 1, 1968, in Sinton to Antonia Gonzales. He was a 1986 graduate of Sinton High School. On April 10, 2000, he married Lora DeLuna Gonzales in Orange Grove. He was a correctional officer at the Garza East Unit.
He is survived by his wife, Lora Gonzales of Beeville; children, Gina Gonzales, Miriah Gonzales and David Guerra, all of Beeville, Deseray Gonzales, Edward Jose Gonzales Jr. and Ezzy Gonzales of Sinton; brothers, Pedro and Elias Gonzales of Aransas Pass; uncle, Pete Gonzales and wife Janie of Sinton; sister-in-law, Cleo Clarke of Freer; and several nieces, great-nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Antonia Gonzales.

Mueller
Willis Schroller Mueller, 78, died Thursday, March 16, 2006. Mueller and her husband operated Mueller's Frosty in Woodsboro from 1972 to 1991.
She was born May 19, 1928, in Pawnee to Frank and Annie Schroller.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; an infant son, Bradley Paul Mueller; one brother, Leo Schroller; and three sisters, Olivia Ellis, Lorene Polozeck and Mary Mae Page.
Survivors include three daughters, Brenda, Barbara and Beverly, all of Houston; three sisters, Annie  Johnson of Karnes City, Leona Smith of McAllen and Janie Metting of Victoria; three grandchildren, Leslie May and Mattison May of Houston and Meredith May of Los Angeles,  Calif.; and a sister-in-law, Eunice Schroller of Corpus Christi.
Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 17, at Moore Funeral Home in Refugio with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral services were conducted at Peace Lutheran Church in Woodsboro on Saturday, March 18, at noon. Interment followed in LaRosa Cemetery in Woodsboro.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Peace Lutheran Church in Woodsboro or to the Alzheimer's Association.
Arrangements were handled by Moore Funeral Home, Refugio.

Mr. Garcia
Born on July 5, 1925 and raised in Beeville,  Texas, and 30-year veteran of the U.S. Army, Flavio Garcia, 81, passed away of natural causes at his home in San Pedre, California, on December 25, 2006. Flavio’s faith and courage helped him through his military service in WWII, the Korean War, and two tours in Vietnam. Flavio marrried Mariko “Kay” Tamaru of Yokohama, Japan. They raised three children through many Army assignments. Upon his retirement, Flavio and Kay settled in San Pedro, California. Flavio’s vitality, kindness, warth, generosity, adn unconditional acceptance of others were deeply felt by anyone who knew him. As kay’s health declined, Flavio’s unwavering loving care and complete devotion to her was an inspiration to others. He enjoyed the friendship of many, and was actively involved in community organizations, where he was a respected role model. Flavio never forgot his roots in Beeville, and cherished his relationships with family and friends. Flavio was preceded in death by his son, George. Flavio leaves behind his beloved wife, Kay, of 57 years and their children, May Oksol of San Antonio,  Texas, and Flavio, Jr. of Huntington Beach, California, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A funeral mas was held at Holy Trinity Church in San Pedro, California on December 29th.

Mrs. Manley
Jeanette A. Manley, 83, passed away at her home in Chanute, Kansas on Sunday, January 14, 2007.
Born on September 4, 1923 in Richmond, Kansas, she was the daughter of G.B. and Fern Parks. She graduated from Iola High School and Allen County Community College. Jeanette was a homemaker, a member of the First United Methodist Church, Ladies Golf Association, Delta Study Club, Bride Club and volunteered with Grey Ladies at HMH.
She enjoyed golf, bridge, knitting, reading and boating. Most of all she enjoyed spendin gtime with family and friends.
On December 3, 1943 she was united in marriage to Robert F, Manley. They had a son, Bob and daughter–in–law Mary Manley of Chanute, Kansas and a daughter Janis and son–in–law David Moore of Beeville,  Texas; Five Grandchildren, Doug, Laura, Mark, TeNeil and BrieAnna; and one Great-Grandchild, Abigail.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert and her brother Lillard Parks.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2007 at First United Methodist Church in Chanute, Kansas with Reverend Larry Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at the Penwell Gabel Gibson Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to First United Methodist Church.
Penwell Gabel is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Martinez
Vivian Martinez, 92, of Beeville died on Monday, Jan. 15, 2007.
He was born Dec. 2, 1914, in Beeville to Julia Lucio and Victoriano Martinez. He was retired from the City of Beeville Water Department after 20 years of service. After retiring, he worked at Elder’s Country Store & Market. He was a Catholic.
Mr. Martinez was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa R. Silva; his parents; five brothers, Enrique, Baldomar and Celdo Martinez, and Inez and Valentin Morales; two grandchildren, Gabriel Silva and Robert Martinez Jr.; one great-grandchild, Gage Anthony Moreno; and one son-in-law, Freddy Silva.
Survivors include one daughter, Josefa M. Silva of Beeville; two sons, Guadalupe “Wally” (Lucy) Martinez and Robert (Angie) Martinez, both of Beeville; two half-brothers, Ruben (Rosa) Morales of San Antonio and Albert (Irma) Morales of Corpus Christi; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Treviño Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Rev. Flover Osorio officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.
Pallbearers will be Joe “Nito” Martinez, Albert Morales, Bobby Rios, Reggie Elder, Silvestre Rios and Ruben Rios. Honorary pallbearers will be Holy Name Society members.

Mr. Ortega
Master Sgt. Pablo E. Ortega, 79, died on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, in a San Antonio hospital.
He was born on Jan. 15, 1927, in Goliad County to Miguel and Sofia Espinoza Ortega. He retired from the  Texas Highway Department, Beeville office, after 35 years of service. Mr. Ortega served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was retired from the National Guard. He was an active member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and was a lifetime member of the Holy Name Society. He was also a board member of the W.I.C. Program.
Mr. Ortega was preceded in death by his wife, Amelinda R. Ortega; one brother, Edward Ortega; and two sisters, Genoveva Ortega and Eufemia Cano.
Survivors include four daughters, Sofia Ortega (Ruben) Baldez of Victoria, Joanna Ortega Shaw of San Antonio, Rosie Ortega (Alex) Camacho of Beeville, and Margot Ortega (Joe) Coco of Port Aransas; one uncle, Pedro Amador of Corpus Christi; one aunt, Rosa Cano Hernandez of Beeville; 10 grandchildren, Marvella Ortega Rodriguez and husband John, Briana Ortega Baldez and husband Orlando Peña, Roberto Ortega Perez and wife Stephanie, Ruben Andres Baldez, Rebecca Ortega Perez, Victoria Ortega Shaw, Jared Edward Coco, Tyler James Coco, Ryan Andrew Garza and Allie Camacho; seven great-grandchildren, Anyse Baldez, Gabriela Peña, Jaiden Peña, Jonathan Rodriguez, Anastacia Rodriguez, Olivia Rodriguez, and Eboni Escobedo; one brother-in-law; seven sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was celebrated there at 2 p.m. Monday. Burial followed at the Beeville Memorial Park with full military honors.
Pallbearers were Danny, George, Mike, Omar and Noe Cano, Edward Ortega Jr., John Michael Ortega and Frank C. Moron. Honorary pallbearers were Jesse Garza, Joshua G. Gonzales, Past and present members of the Holy Name Society, Board members of the W.I.C. program, and past and present employees of he  Texas Highway Department of Beeville,  Texas.

Mr. Rodriguez
John Albert Rodriguez, 31, of George West, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, following a short illness.
He was born on Oct. 14, 1975, in Beeville to Pedro and Francisca Cuevas Rodriguez. He was a jailer at the Live Oak County Jail and was a member of St. George Catholic Church.
Mr. Rodriguez was preceded in death by a sister, Olga Rodriguez; and his grandparents, Felipe and Augustina Cuevas and Bruno and Ramunda Rodriguez.
Survivors include his parents, Pedro and Francisca Cuevas Rodriguez of George West; two brothers, Pedro Rodriguez Jr. of Dallas and J.R. (Sally) Rodriguez of Three Rivers; five nieces; four uncles, Bebian Cuevas and Benito Cuevas, both of George West, Enrique Cuevas of Beeville and Felipito Cuevas of Eustace; and three aunts, Ramona Rodriguez of Ennis, Geneva Chavera of Lancaster and Lupita Cuevas of Red Oak.
Visitation was held from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel in George West. A rosary was recited there at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. George Catholic Church in George West with Father Joseph Olikkara officiating. Special selections were sung by Kathy Garcia. Burial followed in the St. George Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Sam Garcia, David Garcia, Juan Hernandez, Esteban Lopez, Robert Reyes, Raymond Hassette, Peter Garza, Paul Villafranca, Michelle Ready and Daniel Dobie. Honorary pallbearers were Lenny Ybañez, Vance Roberts, Pedro Rodriguez Jr. and J.R. Rodriguez.
