Mr. Salazar
Christobal “El Gato” Salazar, 67, died Monday, Jan. 23, 2006, at his residence surrounded by his family and close friends.
Mr. Salazar was born on April 25, 1938, in Beeville to the late Matilde Garcia and Pedro Salazar.
He was a retired concrete contractor and a member of St. James Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by one son, Christobal “Bebe” Salazar Jr., and three brothers, Ben, Baldemar and Pedro Salazar Jr.
Mr. Salazar is survived by his wife, Eva Salinas Salazar of Beeville; one daughter, Annette (Chris) Clarich of Calallen; two sons, Lee (Lolly) Salazar of Beeville and David Salazar of San Antonio; one sister, Senida (Joe) Brown; two brothers, Carlos “Chale” (Valentina) Salazar and Victor (Eva) Salazar Sr., all of Beeville; and six grandchildren, Chris Lee, Lisa, Angela and Samantha Salazar, Logan Olivarez and Kimberly Gonzales.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Trevino Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. James Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2.
Pallbearers will be Eloy Salazar, Carlos Salazar, Ricky Salazar, Reza Jery, John Longoria and Aaron Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers will be Marcelino Garcia, Joe Gonzales, Johnny Longoria, Frankie Alvarado, Jesse Perez Jr., Adrian Gomez and Charlie Rendon.

Mr. Talley
Dallas Delbert Talley, 69, died on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006. He was a Beeville resident.
Visitation will be held today (Wednesday) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. A funeral service will also be held today at 2 p.m., at the same location, with the Rev. Leona Corkill officiating. Burial is to follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
Active pallbearers are Darrell Talley, Scott Clark, Wade Newsom, Bobby Pargmann, Rene Gonzales, Ronnie Reeves and D.J. Tierney.
Honorary pallbearers are Leroy, Dave, Roy, Arthur and all the members of his Sunday School class.
Special songs include “Amazing Grace” and “In the Garden.”
Mr. Talley was born in Tulsita on Aug. 24, 1936, to the late Wanda Mae Cox and Claude Elwood Talley. He attended 12 years of school, and on June 1, 1963, he married Linda Sinclair Talley in Seven Sisters. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Pettus and was a “roughneck” by occupation. He was employed with Fish Oil Well Service for 25 years as well as Ballard Well Service and Staples Well Service. He was a faithful member of his Sunday school class, where he never missed a Sunday, and he was a member of the Pettus Men’s Breakfast Group.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Dallas Deen Talley; and one brother, Billie Claude Talley.
Survivors include his wife, Linda S. Talley of Beeville; one son, Dale Wayne Talley and wife Laura of Daphne, Ala.; two sisters, Sandra Clark and husband Scott of Beeville, and Shelley Newsom and husband Wade of Palacios; three grandchildren, Giselle, Clare and Brian Talley, all of Daphne, Ala.; two step-grandchildren, Jessie McCoy of San Antonio and Joseph McCoy of Cuero; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Bankston
Barbara Ann Lazenby Bankston, a loving daughter, sister, mother and friend, died Monday, February 19, 2007, following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Del Rio,  Texas on December 12, 1944, to Leonard and Thelma Lazenby and lived in Beeville,  Texas most of her life.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Leonard W. and Thelma M. Lazenby; her brother, Tommy C. Lazenby; and her husband, Billy W. Bankston.
She is survived by her brother and his wife, Bill and Patsy Lazenby; her sons and their families, Blake, Kelly, Collin and Thomas Middleton, and Todd, Genie, Morgan, Cade and Grant Middleton; her former husband, Jack Middleton; her nephew, Darren Lazenby; her niece and her family, Christal, Corky and Shaie Guill; her dear cousin and his wife, JR and Patty Bruce; and other cousins and many friends.
She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.
Services will be held Friday, February 23, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 207 at the same location. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Cox
Claoma Guin Cox, 88, of Beeville died on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007.
She was born on Dec. 4, 1918, in Beeville to Maude Stilies and J.B. Guin. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She attended college at  Texas A&I University and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Jack Cox.
Survivors include one daughter, Sarah Cox; and one granddaughter, Ashley Quintanilla, both of Beeville.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Duke officiating. Interment followed at Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Romeo Flores, Bo McFarland, Neal McBryde, Walter Kinkler, James Vasek and Alex Kibler. Honorary pallbearers were Salvador Garza and Damacio Garcia.

Mr. Fehlis
Franklin Freddie Fehlis, 86, of Mathis died on Monday, Feb. 19, 2007.
He was born on April 15, 1920, in New Braunfels to Emily Wischekemper and Paul Carl Fehlis. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include one stepson, Victor Hammack of El Campo; one brother, Chester Fehlis of Kerrville; one sister, Carrie Bell Tyler of El Campo; a nephew, Chester Fehlis Jr. of College Station; nieces, Shirley Pullin of Victoria and Genelle Cavender of Louise, and several other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Glenwood Cemetery.

Rev. Guajardo
Rev. Aaron Guajardo Sr., 70, departed this earth to join his Lord on February 15, 2007.
He was born to Arnulfo and Avelina Esquivel Guajardo in Donna, TX on December 10, 1936. He married Livia Guzman on December 9, 1956 in Mission, TX. Just this past year, Reverend Guajardo and Livia celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary alongside their closest family and friends at the Primera Iglesia Bautista in Mineral.
Reverend Guajardo, a Baptist minister, received an undergraduate degree from the University of Corpus Christi and a Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological seminary. He served many pastorates in his more than 40 years of ministry. Some churches in  Texas include Corpus Christi, Portland, Ingleside, Rockdale, and Pleasanton. He volunteered as a church planter in Umatila, Oregon, and  Washington state. The last five years of his ministry he was the pastor of Primera Iglesia Bautista of Mineral. At the beginning and end of their ministries, Reverend Guajardo and his wife, Livia, served pastorates in Blanco Baptist Association and as volunteer missionaries in the Mission Service Corps of the Baptist General Convention of  Texas. For more than 20 of his 40 years in ministry, he served bi-vocationally in positions of teacher then as a principal in the Pleasanton ISD after earning another Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Southwest  Texas State University.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arnulfo and Avelina Guajardo; and a daughter, Delpha Guajardo Martin.
Survivors include his wife, Livia Guajardo of Mineral; sons, Dr. Aaron Guajardo and wife Renee of Chicago, Illinois, and Josue Guajardo and wife Becky of Katy, TX; grandchildren, Aaron III, Timothy, Jacob, and their mother C. Eunice Guajardo, grandchildren Caleb and Rachel Guajardo, and Elyse, Emily, Alex and Scott Nikonchuk; two brothers, Alcides Guajardo and wife Frances of Mineral, TX and Able Guajardo and wife Cathy of La Porte, TX; and two sisters, Aurora Garcia of Edinburg, TX and Amanda Revelle and husband William of Donna, TX.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 17, 2007 at Angelus Funeral Home beginning at 11 a.m. til 9 p.m., a prayer service was held that same evening at 7 p.m. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2007, at Angelus Funeral Home followed by interment in Mineral Cemetery.

Mrs. Roberts
Joan Porter Roberts, 77, died on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007.
She was born in Beeville on Oct. 1, 1929.
She was preceded in death by her husband Denver Roberts, and her parents, Maynard Porter and Josephine Bond Porter. She was a real estate broker for Rabe Real Estate and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Roberts was a graduate of A.C.  Jones High School where she was a drum majorette. She attended Hockaday Prep School and Southern Methodist University. She was also a member of many organizations including Beta, Rosetta, Tri Delta Society, Volunteer Docent at the Berclair Mansion, Presbyterian Women’s Guild, Emaeus Group and the Wednesday Luncheon Club.
She is survived by two sons, one daughter and two step-sons: Robert Key and wife Carol of Coppell, Tx., Bryan Key and wife Lisa of SugarLand, Tx., Karen Key-Scott of Elgin, Tx., Randy Roberts and wife Stephenie of Tyler, Tx., and Bill Roberts and wife Jerre of Texarkana, Ark.; 11 grandchildren, William Key, Kathryn Key, Lee Scott, Myrinda Scott, Clayton Scott, Colton Key, Kelsey Key, Kaitlyn Key, Clay Roberts, Julie Goudie and Lisa Roberts.
Funeral services were to be held today (Wednesday) at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home. Interment followed at Glenwood Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Sid Elder, Dr. Grady C. (Sam) Hogue, Jody McCord, Justin McCord, William Moser, Kelly Clem, Bobby Spielhagen adn Dr. Lee Prowse. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Millikin and Porter Loring Jr.
Those who wish may make donations to the South  Texas Children’s Home, P.O. Box 1210, Beeville, Tx. 78104-9984.

Mrs. Sanderson
Eunice Ann Sanderson, 55, of Beeville died on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007.
She was born on Aug. 31, 1951, in Beeville to Ferrel Coffey and Lee Jones. She married Norman Dale Sanderson on Jan. 5, 1974, in Henrietta. She was employed at the McConnell Unit of the  Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Norman Sanderson of Beeville; one daughter, Kimberly Sanderson of Beeville; seven siblings, Ruth Kircher and husband John, Linda Nelson and husband Rook, Merle McMahan and husband Dean, all of Beeville, David  Jones and wife Shirley of Cuero, Larry  Jones and wife Sharon of Spring, Travis  Jones and wife Mary of Pittsfield, and Steve  Jones and wife Ginny of Victoria; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
Donations may be made in her memory to the church or charity of one’s choice.

Mrs. Campos
Guadalupe Cantu Campos, 63, of Houston died on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007.
She was born Sept. 11, 1943, in Skidmore to Juan and Aurora Hinojosa Cantu. She married Joe Campos in Sinton on Dec. 29, 1969. She was a department manager at Foley’s.
She was preceded in death by her adoptive mother, Rosa Perez; one son, Maclovio Perez; and one daughter, Soledad Garcia.
Survivors include her husband, Joe H. Campos of Houston; two daughters, Norma Puga and Christina Marie Herrador, both of Houston; her mother, Aurora Serda of Beeville; one brother, Jesus Perez of the Clareville community; three sisters, Maria Treviño, Apolonia Saenz and Rosa Hinojosa, all of Beeville; one grandson, Robert Puga of Houston; and one granddaughter, Ashley Marie Herrador of Houston.
Visitation was held from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Angelus Funeral Home, with a prayer service held at 7 p.m. Funeral services were held there at 2 p.m. Monday, followed by burial at San Pedro Cemetery in the Clareville community.
Pallbearers were Michael Campos, Baldemar Campos Jr., Joseph Campos, Mac Alvarado, George Cano Jr. and Randy Campos.
