Timon
Walter Edward “Buck” Timon, 80, died Saturday, May 1, 2004.
He was born on Aug. 20, 1923, in Corpus Christi. He served in the Air Force in World War II and had spent most of his life working as a cowboy on area ranches.
Survivors include two nephews, Joe Timon of Corpus Christi and Pinky Timon of Mathis; his best friends, Bill and Beverly Bauer of George West; and numerous cousins and friends.
A rosary was recited Monday at 7 p.m. at Dobie Funeral Home chapel in Mathis. Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in San Patricio. Interment followed in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled through Dobie Funeral Home, Mathis.

Villagomez
Alfonso Villagomez, 55, died Sunday, May 2, 2004.
Visitation was held Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. Rosary was recited that evening at 7:30 at the same location. Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Richard Gonzales officiating. Burial followed in Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2.
Pallbearers were Oscar Villagomez, Jose, Raul and Pablo Rios, Pedro Tovar Jr., Carlos Morón, Albert Soliz and Carlos Garcia. Honorary pallbearers were his son, Fabian Villagomez, and his grandsons, Alfonso Villagomez III and Joshua Lee Villagomez.
Mr. Villagomez was born in San Benito on July 5, 1948, to Selso and Olivia (Gonzales) Villagomez. He married Sara Rios on June 28, 1971, in Sebastian. He had resided in Beeville since 1985 and was formerly of Lyford. He was a farm worker and a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Mr. Villagomez enjoyed traveling to visit his son in Conroe and going to flea markets.
He was preceded in death by his father, Selso Villagomez; his son, Alfonso Villagomez Jr.; a brother, Manuel Villagomez; his father-in-law, Leandro Rios; and a brother-in-law, Mariano Rios.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Sara Rios Villagomez of Beeville; his mother, Olivia Gonzales Soto of Lyford; two sons, Oscar Villagomez of Conroe and Fabian Villagomez of Beeville; two grandsons, Alfonso Villagomez III and Joshua Lee Villagomez, both of Willis; two granddaughters, Tayler and Ashley Villagomez, both of Conroe; a brother, Rosendo Villagomez of Lyford; six half sisters; three half brothers; his mother-in-law, Carmen Rios of Sebastian; three sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

SSG Rodriguez
Staff Sgt. Oscar Raul Rodriguez, 27, a former resident of Beeville, serving his country on the island of Hawaii, was killed in active duty in a training accident on Friday, March 10, 2006.
He was a 1996 graduate of A.C.  Jones High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army in September 1996. He was stationed in Ft. Benning, Georgia, and deployed to Iraq from January 2004 to February 2005. He was presently assigned to HHC 1-14 Infantry Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, and was training to redeploy to Iraq at the time of his death.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Garza Funeral Home in San Diego with vigil and a rosary at 7 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego. Graveside service with full military honors and interment will follow at the San Diego Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Stephanie A. Rodriguez, and his son, Jacob Conner Rodriguez, both of Kapolei, Hawaii; his mother, Janie Guerrero Edwards of Beeville; his father Raul C. (Nora) Rodriguez Jr. of Alice; one brother, Carlos Rodriguez of Corpus Christi; three sisters, Victoria Alicia Rodriguez, Pamela Alicia Rodriguez and Maria Guadalupe Rodriguez, all of San Ygnacio; his maternal grandmother, Elda Guerrero of Beeville; his paternal grandmother, Eva C. Rodriguez of Alice; and several aunts and uncles.
Sgt. Rodriguez was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jesus Guerrero, and his paternal grandfather, Raul Rodriguez Sr.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Garza Funeral Home, San Diego.

Mrs. Ferrell
Dorchie Lou Hatcher Ferrell, 68, of Tyler, died on Monday, May 1, 2006.
Mrs. Ferrell was born on May 1, 1938, in Beeville to Dorothy and Archie Hatcher. She graduated from public schools in Beeville and became an executive assistant in corporate sales.
She is survived by three daughters, Stephanie Kruger and husband Louis of Midlothian, Sherry Ellenbogen of Austin and Stacy Hallmark and husband Ron of Tyler; one stepson, Jeff Ferrell and wife Caroline of Eauclaire, Wis.; one stepdaughter, Melissa Emberts and husband Bryan of Sussex, Wis.; 12 grandchildren, Chris and Kimberly Kruger, Heather and Dana Ellenbogen, Hunter and Hannah Hallmark, Jessica, Justine and Jasmine Ferrell and Talisa, Zachary and Hannah Emberts; one sister, Dr. Margaret Hatcher of Flagstaff, Ariz.; and one sister-in-law, Dolores Hoover and husband Les of Chatham, Ill.
A memorial service was held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler with Brother Lou Gary Thomas officiating under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of East  Texas, Homeplace, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler,  Texas 75701, to the memory of Dorchie Ferrell.
Arrangements were by Lloyd James Funeral Home, Tyler.

Mrs. Herrmann
Doris H. Herrmann, 79, of Beeville, died on Tuesday, May 2, 2006.
She was born on July 28, 1926, in Beeville to Adonna Josephine Brown and William R.S. Harrison. She married Harold L. Herrmann in George West on Nov. 13, 1947. She worked with the Faith Lutheran Church Quilting Circle, was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary (Beeville Fire Department) and was a member of the Bee County Republican Party. She attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She was retired from her position of office manager for Dr. Dudley Braly, D.D.S.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Nan  Woods and Gwen Morris.
Mrs. Herrmann is survived by her husband, Harold L. Herrmann of Beeville; two sons, William Mathis (Pat) Herrmann of Wichita, Kan., and Harold Lee (Sharon) Herrmann Jr. of Victoria; one daughter, Adonna (Byron) Dugat of Kerrville; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ann Bashaw of Bay City.
Visitation was scheduled on Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 2 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home with Father Eddie Garcia officiating. Special music will be “Amazing Grace” and “Softly and Tenderly.” Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore.
Pallbearers will be Jason Herrmann, Nathan Dugat, Wayne Herrmann, Gene Herrmann, Rocky Bashaw and Clint Woods.

Mrs. Chandler
Dorothy “Dot” Wyatt Chandler passed away at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla. on Thursday, November 9, 2006 after a valiant battle with breast cancer.
Dot Chandler was born in Attoyac,  Texas on January 15, 1926. She was the daughter of Lela and Ross Wyatt. On October 22, 1946, Dot married Jack Chandler. They enjoyed an extraordinary 49 years of marriage until Jack's death in 1996. Dot and Jack had two cherished children, a son, Dennis Chandler (deceased), and a daughter, Jackie Johnson. The family expanded to include five very special grandchildren.
During her professional years, Dot worked as a physical education teacher and as Director of the Bee County Mental Health Clinic in Beeville. As a Navy wife for more than 30 years, Dot made a home for her family in many places while always giving back to the community through her many volunteer activities.
Until June 2006, Dot was an active member of First Baptist Church in New Braunfels. In June, Dot moved to Jacksonville, Fla. to live nearer her daughter and son-in-law. In Jacksonville she attended Ortega United Methodist Church where she was welcomed with open arms.
Mrs. Chandler was a beautiful, Christian woman who used her inexhaustible supply of love, laughter and positive attitude as an offering to everyone she knew or with whom she came in contact. She had the innate gift of bringing out the very best in all who knew and loved her. Last January Dot was honored by many friends and family with an 80th birthday party in New Braunfels. More than 200 friends and family gathered from around the country to help her celebrate.
Mrs. Chandler was predeceased by her mother and father, her husband, Cdr. (retired) H.H. “Jack” Chandler, and her son, Dennis Chandler. She is survived by her daughter, Jackie, and her husband, Rear Admiral (retired) Mike Johnson, of Lake in the Hills, IL and Jacksonville, Fla. and by five grandchildren: Brooklynn Chandler Willy and husband Michael of New Braunfels; Spring Chandler  Taylor and husband Tommy of Victoria; Drew Chandler of Dallas; Jeremy  Johnson and wife Joy of Franklin, Tenn.; Morgan  Johnson Hanna and husband Ian of Port Townsend, Wash.; along with her many cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 14 at 1 PM at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels. Interment will follow at Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in Dorothy Chandler's memory to: St. Vincent's Breast Health Center, c/o St. Vincent's Foundation, P. O. Box 41564, Jacksonville, FL 32203.

Mrs. Garza
Guadalupe G. Garza, 66, of Beeville died on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2006, in a Corpus Christi hospital.
She was born to Maria Hinojosa and Vicente Ganceres in Dinero on Dec. 12, 1939. She was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Daniel Garza Sr., on March 12, 1996.
Survivors include three daughters, Irma Beltran, Irene Garza and Maggie Alvarado, all of Beeville; three sons, Armando (Ana) Garza and Jesse Garza, both of Beeville, and Daniel Garza Jr. of Edinburg; one sister, Lucia Delgado of Beeville; two brothers, Dionicio (Concepcion) Ganceres of Dinero and Lucio (Josie) Ganceres of Pleasanton; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Interment followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.

Mr. Martinez
Manuel G. Martinez, 60, of Beeville died on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006.
He was born in Beeville on Dec. 17, 1945, to Juanita Galvan Martinez and Enrique Martinez. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and performed general maintenance work for refineries. He enjoyed playing pool and tinkering with cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Reynaldo Martinez and Enrique Martinez; and one sister, Maria Teresa Martinez.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Teresa Galarza Estrada and husband David of Beeville; two brothers, Refugio G. Martinez and wife Dora of Seguin, and Julian Martinez and wife Aura Lila of Beeville; two sisters, Lucia Martinez and Hilaria “Lala” Garza and husband Hilario “Lalo”, both of Beeville; and one grandson, David Estrada Jr. of Beeville.
Visitation was held on Tuesday from 4:30 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home with a rosary recited there at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at St. James Catholic Church with Father Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Special music was “Amazing Grace” and “The Lord’s Prayer.” Interment followed at San Pedro Cemetery in the Clareville community.
Pallbearers were Refugio S. Martinez Jr., Juan Manuel Martinez, Guillermo Martinez Jr., Henry Martinez, David Estrada Sr. and Wally Camacho. Honorary pallbearers were Eduardo Galvan, Luis Martinez, Martin Martinez, Jimmy Montemayor and Isaias Reyes.

Mrs. McKibben
Evelyn “Shawn” Hutcherson McKibben, 42, of Beeville and formerly of Dumas, died on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2006.
She was born in Amarillo on March 19, 1964, to Sharon Shelton Scroggs and Dewey Hutcherson. She married Michael McKibben on Jan. 21, 2001, in Beeville. She was a member of Trinity Christian Center and was a homemaker. She attended Dumas High School and enjoyed reading and gardening. She was active in the Moore County 4-H and received many awards for clothing and textiles, and food nutrition.
Survivors include her husband, Michael McKibben of Beeville; her parents, Sharon and Wilford Scroggs of Dumas, and her father, Dewey Hutcherson and wife Linda of Plainview; two sons, Christopher Sloss and Dustin (Amy) Sloss of Amarillo; one daughter, Sharie “Yo-Yo” Sloss of Dumas; one grandmother, Evelyn Shelton of Dumas; two brothers, Dewey Hutcherson II and wife Rhonda, also of Dumas, and Tracy Hutcherson of Raleigh, N.C.; one sister, Boniene Scroggs of Dallas; and three grandchildren, Devin “BooBoo” Campos of Dumas and McKayla and Noah Sloss of Amarillo.
Visitation was held Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home chapel. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. Jonathan Rhodes officiating.

Mrs. Brown
Mrs. Adele (McGrew) Brown, 93, of Beeville died Monday, March 12, 2007, at Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospital in Victoria following a long illness. Mrs. Brown was born Sept. 30, 1913, in Refugio to John and Lora (Carroll) McGrew. She married E.C. “Jack” Brown on Dec. 22, 1937, in Beeville. She was a homemaker and businesswoman, owner of Adele Brown Real Estate for more than 35 years and was president of the Realtors Association. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the Altar Society and Vigil Society.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, E.C. “Jack” Brown in 1987 and her foster son, Bill “Sonny” Martin.
Survivors include three granddaughters, Patsy Gail Martin of Beeville, Lorin Marie Martin of Las Vegas, Nev., and Melisa Dele Totten of Hutto; five great-grandchildren, Heidi Marie Barabas and Holly Michelle Butler of Austin, James Tyler Totten and Trent Jeffrey Totten, both of Hutto and Christian D’Orazio-Martin of Las Vegas; and two nieces, Mrs. Pat Tingle of Wimberley and Mrs. Margaret Sharp of Dallas.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Galloway & Sons Funeral Home chapel. The funeral Mass will be celebrated today (Wednesday) at 4 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Eddie Garcia officiating. Burial will follow in the Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Michael Knight, Gene Hutchins, Casey Salinas, Jimmy Totten and Ed Herolt and Tim Brasher.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Tyler Totten, Trent Jeffery Totten and Christian D’Orazio -Martin.
