Villagomez
Alfonso Villagomez, Jr., 29, died Sunday, April 20, 2003. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Leandro Rios.
Alfonso is survived by his loving parents, Alfonso and Sara Villagomez, his two brothers; Oscar and Fabian Villagomez; two sons, Alfonso Villagomez III and Joshua Villagomez; two nieces, Tayler and Ashley Villagomez; his uncles, Pablo, Mario, Raul and Jose Rios; his aunts, Maria Sanchez, Guadalupe Tovar, Yolanda Velix and Ofelia Villagomez; his grandparents, Carmen Rios, Celso Villagomez and Olivia Soto and 26 cousins.
Rosary will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Resurrection will be held on Friday, April 25, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with burial to follow at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.
Pallbearers will be Oscar Villagomez, Pablo Rios, Raul Rios, Jose Rios, Antonio Jimenez, Pedro Tovar Jr., James Mayfield and Gerald Martin.

Clark
Rose M. Clark, 93, died Saturday, March 12, 2005.
She was a former resident of Canton, Ohio who was currently residing in Beeville. She was a retired retail clerk.
Survivors include her son, Francis Scheetz of Beeville; her brothers, Charles Grisby of Ohio, Hermann Grisby of Florida, and Thomas and Francis Grisby, both of  Washington.
Memorial services will be held at 2321 Midway St. in Beeville at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Arrangements were handled through Guardian Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Corpus Christi.

Darnell
Theresa Carroll Wooten Darnell, 78, died Saturday, March 12, 2005, in Victoria.
Visitation was held Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. Graveside services took place Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Beeville Memorial Park with Deacon Luis Treviño officiating.
Mrs. Darnell was born in Casper, Wy. on Dec. 29, 1926. She married Charles Darnell on Sept. 27, 1999 in Cuero. She was a retired civil service employee, who worked at NAS Chase Field in Beeville supply tech. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Darnell was an avid bowler who belonged to several leagues when she lived in Beeville.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Darnell of Cuero; three sons, Dennis Wooten and wife Lisa of LaFayette, La., Robert Wooten of Corpus Christi and Brian Wooten and wife Sherri of Thompson Station, Tenn.; two daughters, Becky Perez of Victoria and Diana Clay and husband Bob of Victoria; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a brother; and two sisters.

Garcia
Adalberto M. Garcia, 78, died Thursday, March 10, 2005, in Amarillo.
Visitation was held Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the same location with the Revs. Jorge Ramirez and Gregory Gomez officiating. Special music was provided by organist Mary Ellen Thoms. Burial followed in Evangelico Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Brad and Bryan Chaffin, Rene Jaramillo, Eric and Robert DelaRosa, and J.D. Sanchez.
Mr. Garcia was born in Clareville on April 22, 1926, to Augustine and Antonia (Medina) Garcia. He resided in Gregory and worked for Reynolds Metal in operations.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Minerva Moreno Garcia.
Survivors include his daughters, Adriana Chaffin and husband Bobby of Fritch and Alberta Robles and husband Louis Jr. of Houston; a son, Antonio Jaramillo Jr. and wife Anita of Gregory; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Abelardo and Abel Garcia, both of Beeville, and Armando Garcia of California; and four sisters, Angelica Carrizales of Beeville, Amelia Gutierrez of Lubbock, Adelaida Garcia of San Antonio and Alicia R. Rey of Plainview.

Johnston
Geraldine Hartung Johnston, 92, died Monday, March 14, 2005, at her home in Papalote.
She was born in San Antonio on March 7, 1913, to Juanita and A.W. Hartung. She married William R. Johnston on Nov. 30, 1933, in Houston. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist church.
Mrs. Johnston was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Randy Johnston, her sisters, Iris Surtees and Nolie Mahavier.
Survivors include a son, Tom Johnston of Papalote; a daughter, Sandy (A.J.) Gregorczyk of Papalote; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home chapel in Sinton, with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m.
Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday at Skidmore’s Evergreen Cemetery with Craig Deardoff officiating.
Arrangements were handled through Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home, Inc., Sinton.

Lucas
Craig Allen Lucas, 29, of McQueeny, died Wednesday, March 9, 2005.
He was born in San Antonio on Sept. 26, 1975, to Timmy Lee Lucas and Terrilyn S. Lucas. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Quiteman Mission. He graduated from Blessed Sacrament High School on March 12, 1994.
Survivors include his wife, Christie R. Lucas; his daughters, Kelsey and Kasey Lucas; and son, Cody Lucas, all of Gulfport, Miss.; a sister, Crystal R. Lucas of Seguin; and a brother-in-law, James Paul Farmer of San Antonio.
Graveside services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Choate Cemetery with Pastor Glen Dyson officiating.
Pallbearers were Darrell L. Lucas, Richard Todd Sawey, Richard Newman, Steve R. Lucas, James P. Farmer and James E. Brown.
Arrangements were handled through Eckols Funeral Home, Inc., Kenedy.

Morgan
Martha A. Morgan, 47, died Monday, March 14, 2005, in Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville after a short illness.
She was born in Beeville on June 22, 1957, to Ysabel and Anuncia Almaraz. She was employed as a special education teacher’s aide for the Beeville Independent School District. Mrs. Morgan was a Catholic and an A.C.  Jones High School graduate.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, William C. Morgan of Beeville; three sisters, Lucy (Wally) Martinez and Guadalupe (Gilbert) Guerrero, both of Beeville, and Frances (William) Altamaier of Pearland; four brothers, Juan (Janie) Almaraz and Daniel Almaraz, both of Beeville, Bernardo (Cynthia) Almaraz of Alvin and Guillermo Almaraz of Palestine.
A rosary was recited Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated today (Wednesday) at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Burial followed in Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Jason Altamaier, Mark Guerrero, Gerald Martinez, Antonio and Andres Almaraz and Juan Rodriguez.

Posada
Adela S. Posada, 70, of Carrolton, died Saturday, March 12, 2005, in Trinity Medical Center there.
She was born in Beeville on Dec. 24, 1934, to Pablo and Juliana (Anzaldua) Sauceda. She was a housewife.
Mrs. Posada was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Pablo and Braulio Sauceda, who died at infancy.
Survivors include her husband, Gonzalo Posada Sr. of Carrolton; two daughters, Juliana (Thomas) Joerger of Aurora, Ill. and Valentina (Kirk) Lee of North Aurora, Ill.; seven sons, Gonzalo (Sandra) Posada Jr. and Juan Posada, both of Carrolton, Fernando (Maria) Posada of St. Charles, Ill., Abelardo (Carmen) Posada of Geneva, Ill., Ricardo (Rachel) Posada, Martin and Jesus Posada, all of Aurora, Ill.; two brothers, Mauro (Leti) and Santos Sauceda, both of Beeville; three sisters, Felicita “Tita” (Bob) Annis and Julia (Felix) Abrigo, both of Corpus Christi and Lidia (Manuel) Carranco of Beeville; 18 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated today (Wednesday) at 2 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church. Burial followed in Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2.
Pallbearers were Mrs. Posada’s seven sons, Gonzalo Jr., Juan, Fernando, Abelardo, Ricardo, Martin and Jesus Posada.

Rivas
Tomas Rivas, 72, of Espanola, NM, died Wednesday, March 9, 2005.
He was born on March 6, 1933, in Rockport, to Fermin Rivas and Elvira Ramos Espinosa. He was raised in Beeville.
Mr. Rivas was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Leonor R. Hinojosa, his brothers, Jose Espinosa and Fermin and Andres Rivas, and a brother-in-law, Martin Moreno.
Survivors include his former spouse and caretaker Syria Rivas; his daughters, Lena Jaramillo and husband Patrick of Mineral Wells, Priscilla L. Romero and husband David of Mountainaire, Diana De La Cruz and husband Armando of Hereford and Irma Lente and husband Frank of Albuquerque, N.M.; three sons, David Montoya of Espanola, N.M., Tommy Rivas and wife Rosalie and Andrew Rivas and wife Melanie, all of Albuquerque; five sisters, Dalia Llamas and husband Tomas, Olga Galvan and husband Pedro, Rosa Hardman and husband Wayne, Elvira Flores and husband Adrian and Alejandra Moreno, all of Beeville; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Cremation arrangements were made with no public services to be held at this time. Arrangements were handled through Block-Salazar Mortuary, Espanola, N.M.

Schubert
Betty Jo Schubert, 59, died Sunday, March 13, 2005.
Visitation was held Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Galloway and Sons chapel. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the same location with the Rev. Bill Duke officiating. Special music was provided by singer Mickey Sikes. Burial followed in Skidmore's Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Billy Mac Wilson, Peter Martino, Michael Martino, Brenda Franco, Laura Smejkal, David Sherrer, Justin Schubert, Tyler Wallek, Chance  Schmidt, Jared Schubert, Jeff Hudson and Courtney Hudson.
Ms. Schubert was born in Beeville on July 8, 1945, to Joseph Edward Schubert Sr. and Frances Herzog. She attended Southwest  Texas State University and was a retired civil service employee. She was a Methodist and a resident of Skidmore.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Herzog Brown, father, Edward Joseph Schubert Sr. and a sister, Emma Lee Wilson.
Survivors include her step-father, W.C. Brown of Skidmore; her brothers, Buddy Wilson of Kingsville, Joe Schubert and wife Robin of Sinton, and Dale Schubert and wife Teresa of Skidmore; four sisters, Joyce Sherrer and husband Richard of Sinton, Rhonda Wallek and husband Gordon, Franny Hudson and husband George and Billie Jean Brown, all of Skidmore.
