Richard
Sally “Sal” Richard of George West, 54, died Saturday, March 11, 2006.
A memorial service was held this morning (Wednesday), March 15, at 10 o’clock at the Galloway and Sons Chapel in George West.
Mrs. Richard was born to Ray Lafayette and Mildred (Tate) Haley on May 5, 1951 in Three Rivers. She married Raphael C. Richard on Dec. 30, 1976 in Victoria. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Richard was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Anita Snider.
Survivors include her husband, Raphael C. Richard of George West; three sons, Rocky Dan Angell of Edna, Rusty Angell of Floresville and Matthew Shane Richard of George West; three brothers, Robert Lowrie of George West; Dickie Lowrie of Arkansas and Billy Ray Haley of Gulfport, Miss.; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and special friends, John and Leslie Walker of George West.

Bowen
Georgia Mae Bowen, 49, a resident of Freer, died Wednesday June 7, 2006, in an Alice hospital following a sudden illness. She worked as a cashier at Super S Foods and Nu-Way Convenience store in Freer. She enjoyed music, poetry and singing.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Delcie Bowen, and her stepmother, Mary Alice Brieden Bowen.
Survivors include two sons, Joel Lynn Sinor Jr. of Pflugerville and Robert Blaze Sinor of Fort Worth; her father, John C. (Theresa) Bowen of Freer; a brother, John D. (Trina) Bowen of Freer, two sisters, Brenda (Joe) Jalufka of Ada, Okla. and Bonnie (Pete) Hahn of Goliad; her companion, Bobby Lee Jr. of Freer; as well as numerous nieces, nephews aunts and uncles.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Friday, June 9, at the Garza Funeral Home Chapel in Freer, with Brother Tim Walshe officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Garza Funeral Home, Freer.

Garcia
Elida Martinez Garcia, 73, of George West, died on Tuesday, June 6, 2006.
Mrs. Martinez was born on July 30, 1932, in Three Rivers to Cesario and Librada (Deluna) Martinez. She married Juan Garcia in George West on April 25, 1955, and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. George Catholic Church.
Mrs. Garcia was preceded in death by her parents, Cesario and Librada (Deluna) Martinez; and one sister, Seferina Gutierrez.
She is survived by her husband, Juan Garcia of George West; two sons, Reynaldo Garcia and Rosemary and Raul “Pepe” Garcia and Rachel, all of George West; three daughters, Margarita “Margie” Chapa and Endercio Jr. and Delma Garcia, all of George West, and Belinda Garcia and Joe Garza of Leander; eight grandchildren, Rebecca Rae Garcia, Juan Gabriel Garcia, Adriane Rose Garcia, Claudia G. Chapa, Salina G. Chapa, Isabella Martina Chapa, Candace Nicole Gonzales and Joseph G. Gonzales; and two sisters, Emma Carter of Corpus Christi and Hilaria Ramon of George West.
Visitation was held Wednesday, June 7, at the Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in George West. A Rosary was recited tonight at 7:30 p.m. that evening at St. George Catholic Church. The funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, with Father Joseph Olikkara officiating. Musical selections were provided by Cris Luna accompanied by organist Barbara Bednorz. Interment followed in the St. George Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Julian Ramon, Joe Ramon, Abel Gutierrez, Chris Ybañez, Adolfo Moreno Jr. and Omar Salazar. Honorary pallbearers were Joseph Gonzales and Gabriel Garcia.

Rosebrock
Terrell Oscar Rosebrock, 79, of Three Rivers died Friday June 9, 2006, at a local nursing home. He was born to Oscar Henry and Virgil (Campbell) Rosebrock on Dec. 16, 1926 in Three Rivers. He was a lifelong Live Oak County resident. He married Marilyn Goebel Rosebrock on Aug. 1, 1952. Mr. Rosebrock worked as a gauger for Chass Production and was a rancher for himself all his adult life.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his four sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Rosebrock, of Three Rivers; and a son, Randal Ray “Pistol” Rosebrock of Three Rivers.
Visitation was held Saturday, June 10, at Roberson Funeral Home.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday June 11, at the First United Methodist Church in Three Rivers.
Pallbearers were Terry Stewart, Doug Stewart, Stocky Morgan, Brett Morgan, Luke Goebel and Gregg Goebel.
Interment followed in the Three Rivers Cemetery.

Dugat
Francisca “Francis” Marie (Kessler) Dugat, 91, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at her residence in Beeville.

She was born in Skidmore on March 4, 1912, to Victor Edmund and Hedwig (Rennert) Kessler. She graduated from Westmoreland High School and attended college. She married William D. Dugat in San Antonio on Feb. 16, 1933.

Mrs. Dugat was a member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church and a housewife. She was a member of the Birthday Club, Rosetta Club, Beta Club, Wednesday Luncheon Club, Bee County Historical Society, Women of St. Philip’s and honorary member of Junior Service League. She and her husband were selected as honorees at the 42nd annual show of the South  Texas Hereford Association in 1978.

Mrs. Dugat was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, William D. Dugat; a sister, Virginia Long; and son-in-law, Dr. Dudley Braly.

Survivors include a daughter, Diana Braly of Beeville; a son, the Rev. Bill (Gwen) Dugat of Fredericksburg; five grandchildren, Bill (Kathy) Dugat III of Austin, Wendy (Rob) Schneider and Alice (Mike) Whitley, all of George West, Anita (Marty) English of Dallas and Suzanne (Mike) Marshall of Pensacola, Fla.; 10 great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation was held Friday at the Galloway & Sons Chapel in Beeville.

The funeral was held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Beeville with the Rev. Adrian Amaya officiating. Burial followed in the Glenwood Cemetery in Beeville.
Active pallbearers were Bill Dugat III, Rob Schneider, Mike Whitley, Dr. Marty English, Russell English, Bill Dugat IV and Raymond Welder.
Those who wish may make donations to St. Philip’s Episcopal Church.

Snider
Randall Wayne Snider, 43, of George West died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, in Live Oak County.

Mr. Snider was born May 12, 1960, in Beeville to William Edward and Anita Louise (Lowrie) Snider. He worked as a sales representative for Beta International, and was a member of the First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include one son, Zachary Dillon Snider of George West; one daughter, Mackenzie Elise Snider of George West; one brother, Lloyd “Tootie” Snider of George West; two sisters, Diana Sue Forehand of Corpus Christi and Laura Kathleen “Punky” Sample of Bryan; one half-sister, Shana Snider Strause of Pflugerville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Sunday at the Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West. The funeral was Monday at the First Baptist Church in George West, with the Rev. Bruce Irving officiating. Burial followed in the George West Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Carlos Briseño, Guy Freiley, Jesse Valverde, Jody Hines, Jeff Hubert and Stevie Steen. Honorary pallbearers were Robert Lowrie, Joseph Snider, Andrew Snider, Charles Snider,  Taylor Dove, Greg Snider, Erik Snider, Cody Barrett and Jerry Troell.

Allen
Donna L. Allen, 67, a resident of Oregon’s Garibaldi community, died Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at the Providence St. Vincent Hospital in Portland, Ore.
Graveside services were held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Forest View Cemetery in Forest Grove, Ore., with Pastor David J.  Whitehead of the Rockaway Community Church officiating. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 23, at 11 a.m. at the Rockaway Community Church in Rockaway Beach, Ore.
Mrs. Allen was born Oct. 4, 1937, in Butte, Mt., to Wesley Allen and Ann Marie (Grandovic) Jacobs. She was raised and received her early education in the Butte community, until 1947, when she moved with her family to Oregon, settling in the Rockaway community.
She married Robert Lee “Bob” Allen on Oct. 8, 1959, in Tillamook, Ore. Following their marriage they made their home in Tillamook County, having lived in Rockaway, Brighton and Garibaldi. In 1974 they moved to George West, where they resided for five years until returning to Oregon in 1979, settling again in the Garibaldi community. Mr. and Mrs. Allen celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary this past October.
Mrs. Allen was a homemaker and a member of the Rockaway Community Church and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2144 in Tillamook. She enjoyed bingo, camping and knitting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Ann Jacobs.
Survivors include her husband, Robert L. “Bob” Allen of Garibaldi, Ore.; a daughter, Laura Barber and her fiancé, Terry Lane of Bay City, Ore.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ron and Shirley Jacobs of Vancouver, Wash. and Kenneth “Ken” and Sue Jacobs of Oakridge, Ore.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Kenneth Frampton of Rockaway, Ore., Sharon and Dick Epperly and Linda Smith, all of Vancouver, Wash.; three grandchildren, Cheri Gonzalez, Tari Thompson and Jenny Allen; five great-grandchildren, Ashley Nicole and Brittany Marie Allen, Alondra Isabel and Antonio Jiovany Gonzalez and Colin Allen Kent; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Rockaway Community Church building fund, P.O. Box 176, Rockaway Beach, OR 97138.
Arrangements were handled through Forest Grove Memorial Chapel, Forest Grove, Ore.

Hale
Mary Lou Hale, 81, died Monday, July 11, 2005, at her residence in La Pryor.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Batesville, with the Rev. Johnney  Whiteaker officiating. Mrs. Hale was cremated.
Mrs. Hale was born in Three Rivers on Feb. 24, 1924.
Survivors include her husband, A.J. Hale of Uvalde; her children, Melvin C. Lee of Dinero, Fay Cox of La Pryor, Annette Snyder of Falls Çity, Lois Simpson of Uvalde, Patricia DeGroff of Uvalde, Gerald Kim Lee of Ingram, Ruby Roberts of Skiatook, Okla., Danny Hale of Camarillo,  Calif., Kenneth Hale of Brackettville, Bruce Hale of Rosenberg, Debbie Alderson of Uvalde and Sheryl Pierce of Waco; 37 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Ala Hicks and Ruby Payne, both of Three Rivers, Margaret Crisp of New Braunfels and Mary Blackman of Batesville; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
Mrs. Hale was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin Luther Lee; and a daughter, Linda Louella O’Niel.
Arrangements were under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary, Uvalde.

Kugerl

Edna Nesloney Kugerl, 94, of George West, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003.

Mrs. Kugerl was born on Dec. 28, 1908, in Gonzales to August and Annie (Dulnig) Nesloney. She married Albert Kugerl in Kingsville on Dec. 30, 1941. She was a housewife, a farmer and rancher, and was a member of the Baptist faith.

During her life, she did custom meat processing for 200 people and ran a small grocery store in George West. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, animals, camping, sticker picking, fishing and hunting. She had a salt and pepper shaker collection that numbered more than 2000, and enjoyed making and giving away Christmas ornaments to others.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Albert Kugerl.

Survivors include two daughters, Odmae Perron of Taft and Carole Duckworth of George West; four grandchildren, David Perron and family of George West, Cathi (Perron) Volkman and family of Portland, Bodie Duckworth and family of Alvin, and Koby Duckworth and family of Pleasanton,  Calif.; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Della Terry of Kingsville.

Visitation was held Tuesday at Galloway’s Chapel in George West. The graveside funeral was also held on Tuesday with the Rev. Bruce Irving officiating. Burial followed in the George West Cemetery.

Valdez

Porfiria “Pela” Z. Valdez, 65, of Three Rivers, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, at Christus Spohn Shoreline in Corpus Christi.

Mrs. Valdez was born on Sept. 9, 1938, in Live Oak County to Francisco and Segunda (Muñoz) Zertuche. She was married to Alfredo Valdez and was retired from being the restaurant manager at Pic-A-Rib. She was a member of the First Assembly of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfredo Valdez; one son, David Elkins; and one grandson, Shawn Garza.
Survivors include one son, Juan Garza of Three Rivers; one brother, John M. Zertuche of Minneapolis, Minn.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Saturday and Sunday at the Galloway & Sons Chapel in Three Rivers. The funeral was held Monday at the First Assembly of God, with the Rev. Bill E. Stanley Jr. officiating. Burial followed in the Three Rivers Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joe Caballero, Jerry Caballero, Julian Caballero, Tony Fairhurst, Joe Manuel Linares and James Caballero.
