Elvin Noble Harris

Elvin Noble Harris, age 84, passed away on Thursday January 26, 2006 at Northeast Medical Center in Bonham,  Texas.

Memorial services will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday January 31, 2006 at First Baptist Church in Bonham,  Texas under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home. Rev. Morgan Malone will officiate.

Mr. Harris was born March 17, 1921 in Bonham,  Texas to William & Florence Hefflin Harris. He was a Railroad Conductor for the Santa Fe Railroad. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Army Corps of Engineers in New Guinea & awarded the Bronze Star. Mr. Harris loved to fish & the outdoors.

Survivors are son Albert Harris of Arlington TX.; daughter Sandra Dennis of Istanbul, Turkey; 5 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents & wife Sarah Ruth Clark Harris.

J. Lee Baker

Bonham- Graveside services for Mr. J. Lee Baker, age 84, will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham. Officiating will be Mr. Roy Kemp. Mr. Baker passed away Sunday, January 29, 2006 at Honey Grove Nursing Center in Honey Grove. He was born May 3, 1921 in Fannin County, the son of the late Joe Lee and Irene Craft Baker. Mr. Baker was married to Augustine Brown on August 17, 1948 in Leonard,  Texas. He was a painter and served in the Army during World War II. Mr. Baker was a member of the Northside Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife – Augustine Baker of Bonham. Sons – Rodney Baker and Eric Baker both of Bonham. Daughter – Jan Webb of Greenville. 8 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild. He was preceded in death by his brother Jimmy Joe Baker.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Sam Wade, Bill Partridge, Barry Frambes, Gene McGuire, Randell Wood and John Birdwell.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

Mary Belle Busby

Bonham - Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Belle Busby, age 62, will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at Cooper-Sorrells Chapel in Bonham. Interment will follow in Arledge Ridge Cemetery near Bonham, officiating will be Rev. Brett Castle. Mrs. Busby passed away Sunday, February 5, 2006 at Wilson N.  Jones Hospital in Sherman. She was born on March 22, 1943 in Bonham, the daughter of the late Levi  Jackson Lackey and Raoda Smith Lackey. Mrs. Busby was married to L.G. Busby on March 10, 1962 in Bonham, he preceded her in death on August 25, 2004. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughters - Barbara Helton & husband Roy and Rebecca Orozco & husband Fibiberto all of Bonham. Brother - Doc Lackey of Bonham. Sister - Ruby Jean Calhoun of Sherman. 15 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Randy Gibson, Bill Dinwiddie, Ronnie Richardson, Jackie Richardson, Clifton Daniel and Filiberto Orozco, III. Honorary Pallbearers will be Martin Orozco, Phillip Simpson, Miller Brent, Marshall Phea, John Simpson, Clint Castleberry and Jason Wilson.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM Tuesday night at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

Sandra Jeanne Broderick

Bonham - , Sandra Jeanne Broderick, age 60, passed away Friday, April 14, 2006 at her residence in Bonham,  Texas. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at 4PM at Arledge Ridge Cemetery in Arledge Ridge Community.

Sandra was born in Souix Falls, S.D. on May 9, 1945 to Theodore R. & Mauge McCaffrey Broderick. She was a CNA employed by Clyde Cosper  Texas State Veterans Nursing Home.

Survived by mother Maude Broderick of Bonham; daughter Patricia Akers of Bonham, TX.; son Michael Sean Murphy of Bonham, Tx.; 4 grandsons Matthew & Mark Campi of West Palm Beach FL. & Cody & Duell Akers of Bonham & great grandson Sean Campi of West Palm Beach, FL. ; sister Sharon Dorsy of Bonham, TX.; twin sister Candace Phillips of Bonham, TX.; brother Theodore Broderick of Houston, TX.; nieces Sylvia Griffith of Las Vegas, NV. & Tammy Mueller of Bonham; nephew Jimmie Phillips Jr. & wife Toni of Redlands, CA.; great nieces Kendra & Ashley Thurman of Las Vegas, NV. & Jessica  Schmidt, Jennifer Phillips & Megan Mueller of Bonham, TX.; great nephews Brandon Dorsy, Joseph Phillips & Ricky Mueller of Bonham & Jimmie Phillips III of Lawton, OK.; great great nieces & nephews Jonathan, Jordyn & Justin  Schmidt of Bonham, TX.

Family will receive friends from 7-8pm Tuesday April 18, 2006 at the funeral home.

Lena Frances Caldwell, 87, past away June 15, 2004 at Bishop Davies Nursing Home in Hurst, TX.. Services will be June 17, 2004 at 2:00p.m. at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery. She was the daughter of Alvin & Lattie Stubbs Henry.

Mrs. Caldwell was survived by 2 sons Bobby& Lynda Caldwell of Ft. Worth, Tx.; and Lynwood & Cynde Caldwell of Mesquite, TX.; 1 sister Imogene Bethel of Blue Mound, Tx.; 7 grandchildren & 7 great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Wednesday June 16, 2004 at Cooper Sorrells Funeral Home.

VELMA LEE CIRKLES

BONHAM - Graveside services for Mrs. Velma Lee Cirkles, age 73, of Bonham will be held at 10:00AM Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at Brown Cemetery near Bonham. Officiating will be Bro. Morris Robbins. Mrs. Cirkles passed away Saturday, August 21, 2004 at her residence. She was born on August 18, 1931 in Hickory Creek,  Texas, the daughter of the late Robert Lee & Queenie Gaye  Johnson Wallace. Mrs. Cirkles was married to Cecil Cirkles on November 5, 1949 in Bonham, he preceded her in death on April 11, 1995. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by Son - Lee Roy Cirkles & wife Devona of Bonham; Son - Donald W. Cirkles of Bonham; Daughter - Guinlin Cirkles of Bonham; Granddaughter - Melissa Wolfson of Bonham; and Sister - Zelma Dodson of Bonham. Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7-8PM Monday night at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

Helen Marie Corley

BONHAM - Helen Marie Corley, 93, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004 in Denison.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First Christian Church, Bonham with the Rev. Dave Brummett officiating. Burial will be in Willow Wild Cemetery, Bonham.

Mrs. Corley was born November 4, 1911 in Garland,  Texas the daughter of K.O. Merriman and Corley Wallace Merriman. She married A.L. Corley on October 31, 1931 in Garland, he preceded her in death on December 20, 1996. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church in Bonham.

Surviving are her daughter, Nancy Richards and husband, George of Pittsburg,  Texas; sons, Herman Corley and wife, Gerri of Bonham, Wallace Corley and wife June of Celeste,  Texas; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; brothers, O.C. (Bo) Merriman and wife, Elnora, Joe Merriman and wife, Beckie; sisters, Lenora Hayes and husband, Leslie, Jane Gipson; sister-in-law, Liz Blythe; numerous nephews, nieces and their families.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home.

Jimmie Wilson Caplinger

Bonham - Funeral services for Mr. Jimmie Wilson Caplinger, age 87, of Bonham will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at Cooper-Sorrells Chapel in Bonham. Officiating will be Rev. Leon Martin and Rev. Jerry Hollowell, interment will follow in Willow Wild Cemetery. Mr. Caplinger passed away Sunday, December 19, 2004 in Clyde W. Cosper  Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham. He was born on April 14, 1917 in Kingston, TX, the son of the late Sylvester and Cyrena Perry Caplinger. Mr. Caplinger was married to Dorothy Underwood Caplinger on June 11, 1939, in Sulphur Springs,  Texas. He was retired from the Sam Rayburn Memorial VA after 33 years and a member of the Nazarene Church in Bonham. Mr. Caplinger served in the US Army during WWII in the European Theatre. He served in the 35th Infantry, 3rd Army under General George Patton. He served in the infantry, medic corp and as a Litter Bearer. He received the following medals; American Theater, Campaign Medal, EAME Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal with Oak Cluster and the WWII Victory Medal. Mr. Caplinger was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved children - related or not. He enjoyed singing and playing his guitar at nursing homes and church. Most of all, he loved his Lord and Savior.

He is survived by wife of 65 years - Dorothy Caplinger of Bonham. Sons - Kenneth Ray Caplinger of Savoy and Jimmy Dale Caplinger of Palm Harbor, FL.. Daughters - Raenell Hodges of Ravenna and Linda Ommart of Yukon, OK.. Sister - Mollie Dale Richardson of Dallas. 11-Grandchildren, 15-Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild. Several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be James Caplinger, Jim Richardson, Jerry Overton, Jackie Underwood, Waymon Overton and Paul Caplinger. Honorary pallbearers - Kenny Caplinger, Randy Watson, Tex Voorhies, Dean Price, Ronnie Blevens, Brian Ommart, Justin Caplinger and Cody Caplinger. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Tuesday night at CooperSorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

JC CHRISTIAN

Bonham- JC Christian, passed away Wednesday December 29, 2004. JC was born April 7, 1924 in Collin County, TX to Johnie C. Christian & Versie Lay Christian. He attended Van Alstyne public schools and was graduated from Van Alstyne High School in 1942. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-45, his rank machinist's mate 3rd class. He worked his machinist career at U.S. Brass Corp. in Plano, TX. as lead man.

He was married to Beverly  Jones of Bonham on August 2, 1947.

Survivors are wife Beverly Christian of Bonham, TX.; and brother Ralph Lee Christian of  Whitewright, TX.

Clifford Joe Charles

Bonham - Funeral services for Mr. Clifford Joe Charles, age 78, of Bonham will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at Cooper-Sorrells Chapel in Bonham. Officiating will be Bro. Rick Schulze interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove. Mr. Charles was born on July 7, 1926 in Honey Grove, the son of the late William Monroe and Ollie Pearl Bostwick Charles. He was married to Helen Esteen Charles on June 11, 1964 in Honey Grove, she preceded him in death on August 8, 1992. Mr. Charles was a retired restaurant manager and a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

He is survived by a Brother - George Charles of Bonham. Nephew - Marty Charles & wife Charlotte of Bonham. Nieces - Amy Edmiaston & husband Leon and Tracy Boatright & husband Neil all of Bonham. Good Friend - Marie McConnell. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Barber, Leslie Blanton, V.A. Brackett, Floyd Hall, Royce Shipman and Arthur Caldwell. Honorary pallbearers will be Marty Charles, Leon Edmiaston, Josh Edmiaston, Neil Boatright and Dustin Boatright.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 PM Monday night at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

Alta Katherine Clark-Bonham

Alta Katherine (Kay) Clark, age 62, of Bonham passed away Monday, July 11, 2005 at Zale Lipshy University Hospital in Dallas,  Texas due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Trenton,  Texas on July 1, 2005. Funeral services will be held at 3pm Friday July 15, 2005 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham, Rev. W.E. Summers & Rev. J. Martin will officiate. Burial will follow in  Whiterock Cemetery. Mrs. Clark was born January 24, 1943 in Gains,  Oklahoma to John & Pauline Fortner. She married Roy Clark on December 26, 1959. She was a member of Living Word Church of God in Bonham.

Survivors are husband Roy Clark of the home; son Richie Clark & wife Kathy of Bonham, TX.; son Bill Clark & wife Heather Harwell of Bonham, TX.; daughter Judy Pharr & husband Kenny of Farmers Branch, TX.; daughter Jeannette Hyde & husband Bill of Bonham, TX.; daughter Carrie Roskowske & husband Curtis of Bonham, TX_; brother Richard Meek of Bonham, TX.; brother Loren Meek of Hutto, TX.; brother Jimmy Meek of  Oklahoma; brother Jack Fortner of Moody, TX.; sister-in-law Barbara Meek of Houston, TX.; daughter-in-law Rhonda Clark of The Colony, TX.;10 grandchildren & 1 unborn great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Lee Clark, Stephen Clark, Michael Pharr, Andrew Hensley,  Taylor Clark, Jonathan Pharr & Noah Hensley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard Meek, Jack Fortner, Jimmy Meek & Loren Meek.

Family will receive friends from 6-8pm Thursday night July 14, 2005 & Friday 11:302:30pm at the Funeral Home.

Ruth Claxton

BONHAM - Ruth A. Claxton, age 78, of Bonham, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at Northeast Medical Center in Bonham,  Texas.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2005 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham. Officiating was Rev. Jeff Johnson.

She was born on October 16, 1926, daughter of the late Robert Oscar and Flossie Turman Harris. Mrs. Claxton was married to M.G. Claxton in 1947 in Savoy,  Texas. She retired from Fannin County Tax Assessors Office and was a member of Seventh & Main Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, M.G. Claxton of Bonham,  Texas; brother, Bobbie Harris and wife, Dorthey of Bonham,  Texas; brother-in-law, Ray Friday; nephew, Ronnie Harris and wife, Charlotte; grandnephew, Rodney Harris; grandniece, Angie Pickle and husband, Phillip; great-great-niece, Sabrina Pickle; great-great-nephew, Tyler Pickle; niece, Nancy Bridges and husband, Paul W.; niece, Gayle Mills and husband, Bruce; great-nieces, Leisa Bridges, Kim Burpo and husband, Mike and children, John and Jenni; great-nephew, Garry Mills and wife, Teresa and child, Ryan.

Pallbearers were Paul Bridges, Mike Burpo, Joe Moore, Dolton Owens, Gary Hance and Donnie Lankford.

The family received friends one hour prior to service, Friday, Oct. 14, 2005 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.
