Mildred C (Cleo) "Millie" Ingram (Pate) Crabbe

Galveston - Mildred "Millie" Crabbe born May 26, 1926 died December 28, 2005. She was born at Windom, TX. and worked 38 years for the Federal Government, including the Air Force, Navy and Corps of Engineers as an Accountant during the period of 1944 to 1986. That employment took her from TX, to CA, AL, OK, IL, N.M., Wash D.C. and back to  Texas.

She was the first Federal Women's Program Coordinator for equal pay for women in Tulsa, OK, COE in 1968 and continued to promote equal pay for all people. She worked with church youth programs during her younger and older years of life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband LeRoy Crabbe, both parents, 2 brothers and one sister. Mildred "Millie" is survived by two sons, John Pate and wife Elaine from San Marcos, TX. And Robert "Bob" Pate of Florida. Grandchildren Ryan Pate of Tempe, AZ and Lindsay Pate of Parker, CO and David Zimmerman of San Marcos, TX and leaves numerous friends from various parts of the United States.

Millie and LeRoy lived at April Sound, Conroe  Texas, for many years where they enjoyed travel, golf and their retirement years. After LeRoy died she returned back to Galveston where they had lived for several years prior while they were married. Millie moved into the Edgewater Retirement Apartments in August of 1999. She remained active in the community of Galveston until her death..

Chapel Services will be held Friday, January 6, 2006 at loam at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham, TX. Visitation will be held from 9-loam prior to the service. Minister will conduct Graveside Services at Smyrna Cemetery, 7 miles north West of Windom, TX. Where she will be laid to rest with the rest of her immediate "Ingram" family.

We will always remember Millie's friendship, generosity and gift of growing roses. God Bless You

Mrs. Paul E. (Alma Joyce) Calhoun

Joyce went to the loving arms of her Lord on February 5, 2006 and she joined her loving husband Paul. Services will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at Cooper-Sorrells Chapel in Bonham. Interment will follow in Forest Grove Cemetery in Telephone, officiating will be Rev. Eddie Frazier. She was born on February 26, 1931 in Lamasco,  Texas, the daughter of the late William Francis and Johnnie Mae Smith McEwen. Joyce was married to Paul Calhoun on December 7, 1946 in Bonham,  Texas and spent 48 years in loving each other. He preceded her in death on August 1, 1995, and she missed him more than life itself.

Joyce worked as beautician in Denison and Bells for more that 30 years. She later worked at Winns for about 5 years and babysat her 2 grandchildren and great granddaughters.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by children - Rosemary L. Calhoun, Roger G. Calhoun & wife Bonita, Rickie A. Calhoun all of Sherman and William Pat Calhoun of California. Grandchildren - Terry E. Chartier & husband Jimmy of Scurry, Michael B. Smallwood & wife Melanie of Van Alstyne , Stephanie R. Calhoun and Conner M. Calhoun both of Sherman. Great Grandchildren - Randi Lynn Chartier of Scurry, Mikah B. Smallwood and Luke T. Smallwood both of Van Alstyne. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by 1 sister and 5 brothers.

She will be greatly missed by many friends and family.

Pallbearers will be Grandson-in-law - Jimmy Chartier, Nephews Ron McEwen, Eddie McEwen, Jeff McEwen, Great Nephews Terry Weeks and Glenn Weeks.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill McKelva, Tommy McKelva, Bob Brooks and Todd Braden.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 PM Tuesday night at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

William Lester (Dub) Caylor, Jr.

Ravenna- William Lester Caylor, Jr. (known as Dub or W.L.) passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at Wilson N.  Jones Hospital. He was 86 years old. Dub was born on November 11, 1919, to Lester and Roselee (Martin) Caylor in  Whitewright, TX., where he grew up.

Funeral services will be held at Cooper-Sorrells Chapel at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 25, 2006 Interment will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham with Naval military Honors. Rev. Jack Coward & Brian  Jones will officiate. Family visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 on Friday night, March 24.

Dub married Elizabeth Burnham on September 1, 1945, in West Bath, ME., in the family home. They raised four children. Dub was loved much by his 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren who all loved for Grandaddy to tell them stories which he dearly loved to do. He always enjoyed being with people and telling stories, some true and some made up. He could always think of something funny and never met a stranger.

Dub was a member and deacon of Sandy Baptist Church. He was in the Civilian Conservation Corps in Wolfe City and also in officer’s training at Ft. Sill, OK., after which he joined the U.S. Navy. He was in 13 major campaigns during WWII. He always enjoyed the reunions with his USS Craven shipmates each year.

Dub retired from the Bonham Post Office where he was a Rural Mail Carrier. He carried mail to Ravenna, Ivanhoe and Bonham. He said that his patrons were the greatest people in the world.

Dub is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Caylor of the home, sons: David Caylor and wife, DeAnn of Austin, Ricky Caylor and wife, Gwen of Ravenna, daughters: Ann Herring of Lewisville, and Debbie Burnett and husband, Ronnie of Athens; grandchildren Teresa Mills and husband, Gary, Mandy  Jones and husband , Brian, Jeff Burnett, Jason Caylor and wife Leah, Aimee Caylor, Calvin Burnett, Travis Herring and Carrie Caylor; great grandchildren Tyson and Garrett Jones, Ryan Mills, Gavin Caylor,  Taylor and Natalie Nichols; brothers: Duane Caylor, Byron Caylor and wife, Alice, Barry Caylor and wife, Violet; brother in law Jack Hall, sisters in law: Morene Caylor and Opal Caylor and many nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Howard, Bruce and Bill Caylor and sister, Aurelia Hall.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Burnett, Calvin Burnett, Jason Caylor, Travis Herring, Garry Mills and Brian Jones. Honorary pallbearers are the deacons and men’s Sunday School Class of Sandy Baptist Church and close friends: Blanton Hanes, Loyd Venable, Wayman Walker, Levis Walker, Billy Walker, Joe Walker, D. Rannals, Charlie Hill.

Lois Chaffin
Bonham – Funeral services for Mrs. Lois Chaffin, age 88, of Bonham will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 17, 2006 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham. Officiating will be Rev. James Olen Henry and Eulogy will be given by Jerry Chaffin, interment will follow in Arledge Ridge Cemetery near Bonham.

Mrs. Chaffin passed away Friday, April 14, 2006 in Bonham. She was born on October 17, 1917 in Fannin County,  Texas the daughter of the late J.I. and Lillie Edwards Bearden. Mrs. Chaffin was married to Paul D. Chaffin on January 6, 1941 in Durant,  Oklahoma, he preceded her in death on October 14, 2002. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Ector.

She is survived by Son – Jerry D. Chaffin and friend Toni Denton. Daughter Judy C. Dyson & husband Larry. Grandsons Jeffrey P. Chaffin and wife Colleene; Christopher L. Chaffin and wife Amanda; David Dyson and wife Shana; Ross Ford and wife Tracy and Patrick O’Hara and wife Karla. Great Grandchildren Zachary and Hannah Chaffin; Laramie and Maggie Grace Chaffin and Garrett, Logan and Ashley Cline.

Pallbearers will be Jeffrey P. Chaffin, Christopher L. Chaffin, David Dyson, Patrick O’Hara, Ross Ford, Dustin Ford and Mike Bearden.

The family will receive friends from 7-8PM Sunday night at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

Leonora F. Caldwell

Bonham - Funeral services for Mrs. Leonora F. Caldwell, age 99, of Bonham will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at First Baptist Church in Bonham. Officiating will be Rev. Morgan Malone and Rev. W.C. Beasley, interment will follow in Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham. Mrs. Caldwell passed away Saturday, April 15, 2006 at Seven Oaks Care Center in Bonham. She was born on February 4, 1907 in Fannin County, the daughter of the late William E. and Lizzie Margaret Henson Ferguson. Mrs. Caldwell was married to Henry Thomas Caldwell in October 1923 in Bonham,  Texas, he preceded her in death in February 1969. She was a Sales Clerk for House of Fabrics and Young Fashions in Bonham and a member of First Baptist Church in Bonham.

She is survived by Daughter Mary Denney of Bonham. Granddaughter Lynn Underwood of Savoy. 4-Great Grandchildren and Several Great Great Grandchildren. Preceded in death by 7-brother & sisters - Fred, Callie, Everett, Frank, George C., Alma Ferguson and Pearl Ferguson Newell.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service at the church.

Jewell Dale

Ms. Jewell Dale, born Dec. 15, 1910, in Sweetwater, TX, went to be with the Lord on June 3, 2005, in Longview, TX. Ms. Dale had devoted 42 years to the the service of children as a first grade teacher and and school principal. She retired from teaching in both New Mexico and  Texas. Jewell and her husband retired to Graham, TX, where she lived for nearly 30 years. She was a charter member of the Mu Lambda Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma in Graham. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church and gave freely of herself and her time. Jewell volunteered in many aspects of her community, including serving juice in "the old folks' home" until 2001. She was proceeded in death by her husband, J.W. Dale, of Bonham, TX, in 1982 and by her only son, Gerald Lynn Dale, in 1994. She is survived by her granddaughter; Jennifer Swanner, grandson; Wesley Dale, great-granddaughter; Jessica Swanner, daughter-in-law; Joyce Dale-Gercak; two sisters; Madeline Hankins and Arlie Rodgers, and by numerous nieces and nephews. Jewell brought a strength and a light to everything she did and she will be truly missed. Services will be held at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham, TX on Tuesday, June 7, 2005. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m with the service to follow at 2:00 p.m.

James Neil Downing, Sr.

Bonham - Mr. James Neil Downing, Sr, age 88, died June 15, 2005 at Northeast Medical Center in Bonham from a lengthy illness. He was born November 3, 1916, in Bonham, Fannin County to the late James Samuel Downing and Lela Bell Isaacs Downing. He was preceded in death by his wives, Mary Helen Thompson Downing and Treon Downing. Later he married Doris Jean (Pat) Brown Downing on November 4, 1988 in Gordonville,  Texas.

He is survived by his loving wife Pat Bragg Downing of Bonham, two children - James N. Downing of San Antonio, TX and Pat Keene of San Marcos, CA.; two grandchildren Scott Downing of Los Alamos, NM and Lisa Childress, Five great grandchildren and several step children and step grandchildren.

Mr. Downing graduated from Bonham High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II. After the war he returned to his hometown of Bonham. He was a parts manager for Carter Chevrolet where he retired in 1984.

Mr. Downing was a devoted & faithful Christian and active member of Northside Church of Christ. He leaves this earth with a legacy of his own generosity, both to family and neighbors.

Pallbearers will be Scott Downing, Eli Pannell, Jason Bragg, Jedda Bragg, Cade Smith, Chuck Knight and Shane Collins. Honorary Pallbearers are P.E. Biggerstaff, Charles Knight, Roy Kemp, Floyd Gibbs, John Tanner and Kenneth Dale.

Services will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, June 17, 2005 at Northside Church of Christ in Bonham. Officiating will be Mr. Carl Dye, interment will follow in Fannin Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

The family received friends from 7:30 to 9:00 pm Thursday night at Cooper Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

Wanda Jean DePriest Daniel

BONHAM - Graveside services for Wanda Jean DePriest Daniel, 65, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Elwood Cemetery with Mr. Marty Hutchins officiating. She died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005.

Surviving are her mother, Pauline DePriest of Bonham; daughter, Margaret Cockrill; sons, Floyd Lynn Robertson, Dennis Robertson, Lewie Robertson, Gary Daniel; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy DePriest; sister, Benay Comegys.

Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Monday night at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home.

Charles R. Durham

Bonham - Graveside services for Mr. Charles R. Durham, age 76, of Bonham will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at Edhube/ Hampton Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. James Henry.

Mr. Durham passed away early Monday, January 9, 2006,at the Sam Rayburn Memorial VA Nursing Home in Bonham. He was born on September 3, 1929 in Edhube Community, the son of the late Charles Henderson and Maude Mueser Durham. He attended school at Edhube and graduated from Bonham High School in 1949. Following his graduation , he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Puerto Rico as a crash crew firefighter. While serving in the Air Force, Charles married Virgia Brown in Bonham on February 9, 1952. Their son Vic Durham, was born while they were stationed at Shepherd Air Force Base in Wichita Falls,  Texas. Following discharge from the Air Force, the Durham ’s returned to Bonham. Charles worked for DeRose Industries in Bonham for 33 years. During those years, he worked his way up from working on the line to sales manager for the Southwestern District of the United States. He was active for many years in the local VFW and the Civitan Club, and for many years he was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his sister, Margie Durham of Sherman. Son - Vic Durham & wife Pam of Bonham. Grandsons Chris Durham & wife Lauren and Nick Durham & wife Jennifer. Great grandson Walker Durham all of Sherman. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Joe Durham, sister Nellie Durham and his wife Virgia Durham on October 14, 1999, after 47 years of marriage.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 PM Tuesday night at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

Pallbearers will be Pat Beaver, Earl Baker, Steve Edwards, Leroy Tarpley, Gary Pomrenke and Larry Trusty. Honorary pallbearer Bob Leeman. Arrangements by Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

Bessie Marie Dizmond

Bonham - Bessie Marie Dizmond, age 68, of Bonham passed away Monday, March 13, 2006 at her residence. She was born on April 5, 1937 in Telephone,  Texas the daughter of the late Augustus Bradley and Arvin Elizabeth Davis Baugh. Mrs. Dizmond was a homemaker.

She is survived by her Daughter - Kathy Turnbull & husband Richard of Denison. Brothers - Bradley Dizmond & wife Teresa of Ravenna and Gary Dizmond & wife Asako of Okinawa, Japan. Sisters - Barbara Ball of Bonham and Linda Tschoepe of Wade, Ok.. Brothers - Pete Baugh, Thomas “Red” Baugh and John Paul Baugh all of Telephone; and Jim Baugh of Honey Grove. 8-Grandchildren and 1-Great Grandchild. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband - Larry Dizmond, Son - Larry Don Dizmond and Brother - James Baugh. No services are scheduled, the family will have a private scattering of the cremains at a later date.

Beatrice Florence Wark Fairchild
Bonham,  Texas-Beatrice Florence Wark Fairchild, 84 went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 17, 2004, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 20, at Cooper Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham, with Bro. Roy Oates officiating.

Mrs. Fairchild was born on July 10, 1919, in Bangalore, Mysore, British India, daughter of Robert G. & Florence Harding Wark. She grew up in England and India and during WWII worked for the British Intelligence Agency in India. Prior to her retirement she worked at the Agriculture Dept. of USDA Service Center in Bonham. She loved the Native American Indian culture, the ocean, and her native country of England. Beatrice also loved her 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, as well as her favorite pastime of crocheting and embroidery. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Bonham.

Surviving are daughters and son-in-laws, Alana Munger& Larry of Bonham,  Texas; Patty Roberts and husband Norman of Lake Jackson,  Texas; grandchildren and spouses, Joe David and Sharee Munger, Dayton, Oh; Susan and Sean Smith, Bonham, Tx.; Jennifer Mefford, Lake Jackson, Tx; and Meredith and Scott Beaugez of Ocean Springs, Ms.. great grandchildren Mikaela and Mariah Munger, Lincoln, Nebraska; Angelica and Trace Smith, Bonham Haylee and Meagan Beaugez, Ocean Springs, Ms.; and Madison Mefford, Lake Jackson, Tx. Sister, Patricia Wark, Lincolnshire, England; nieces, Alison Heaps, Arlene Long and Winifred Mitchell, of England along with many cousins scattered throughout England.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society, c/o Betty Tarpley, Hwy. 78 S., Bonham, Tx., Grace Hospice, Plano, Tx. or Trinity Baptist Church, Bonham, Tx.

Family will received friends at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 19th.
