William E. (Bill) Floyd

Mr. Floyd , age 72, of Bonham  Texas, passed away Friday, August 27, 2004 from complications of Alzheimer's Disease. Funeral Services will be held at 3p.m. on Sunday August 29, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church in Bonham,  Texas. Officiating will be Rev. Tom Medley And Rev. Jim Yarbrough. The Family will receive friends beginning at 2p.m. in the Church Fellowship Hall. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove,  Texas. The Services are under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home of Bonham,  Texas. Pallbearers will be Robert Charles, John Mahler, Ken Porter, Mark Reece, Doug Stroud, and Ron Stultz.

Born August 20, 1932 in Honey Grove,  Texas to the late William E. and Kathryn  Woods Floyd, Bill was reared in the McKenzie United Methodist Church, and graduated from Honey Grove High School in 1949. He enrolled at  Texas A&M University and graduated in 1953, with a B.S. in Agronomy. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Air Force as a Interceptor Controller in the Air Defense Command. He attained the rank of 1St Lieutenant while on active duty and was promoted to Captain while in the Air Force Reserves. In 1956, he entered the University of  Texas School of Law and received his law degree in 1959. He was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, the  Texas State Bar Association, And The American Bar Association.

Bill began his professional career as an attorney in 1959 with American Title Company in Dallas,  Texas, and later worked for Lawyer's Title Company in Dallas,  Texas. He moved back to Fannin County in 1970 and founded The Red River Valley Abstract and Title Company in Bonham,  Texas where he was an attorney, owner, and manager until his retirement in 1989 when he sold the company to Cole Title Company.

Bill was a active member of the Lion's Club. While living in Dallas, he served in 1966-1967 as committee chair of the District 2-xl Cabinet and then as Vice President of the Richardson Lions Club. He later served as Vice President and President of the Bonham Lion's Club. Additionally, Bill served several terms as Chairman of the Fannin County Historical Commission and assisted with organizing the Fannin County Sports Hall of Fame. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bonham for 34 Years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, George, and sister, Sherrill Floyd Mahler.

Survivors include wife, Betty Floyd; sons, Mark, George, and William Floyd; daughters-in-law, Donna Floyd and Cathy Floyd; grandchildren, Jason, Hannah, David, and Robert Floyd and step-grandsons, Wesley and Dillon Oatman; nephew, John Mahler, and nieces, Marianne Seal, Shelley Stephens, and Erin Mahler.

ELDON FRAIR

Bonham - Eldon Frair, age 87, of Bonham, passed away Thursday October 14, 2004 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison,  Texas. Services will be held at 4:30PM Saturday, October 16, 2004 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham. Officiating will be Rev. Tom Medley & Mr. Leonard Gerner. Masonic graveside service will follow at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham.

Mr. Frair was born on September 2, 1917, in Ravenna,  Texas., to Clyde & Myrtle Barr Frair. He married Martha Jean Hope Frair on October 21, 1945, in Bonham. He was a Retired Security & Fire Chief at Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center in Bonham where he had worked for 34 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bonham. He was also a member of the Constantine Masonic Lodge #13 in Bonham for 52 years. He earned 2 purple hearts & a silver star while serving in the U.S. Army, 36th Division. He also served in the U.S. National Guard.

Survivors are wife Martha Frair of the home; son Larry Frair & wife Belva of Sam Rayburn,  Texas.; grandson Jeff Frair of Tahlequah,  Oklahoma; grand daughter Wendy Henne & husband Tom of Kennewick,  Washington; 2 great grand daughters Hailee & Amber Henne.

Preceded in death by brother John H. Frair & sister Mary Pruitt.

Pallbearers will be Eldon Massey, Sam DeVault, Jeff Frair, Red Littrell, A.T. Chancy & Leonard Gerner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Don Phillips & O.B. Jennings.

The family will receive friends from 7-8PM Friday night at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Bonham,  Texas.

Wana Sue Frailicks - Bonham

Wana Sue Frailicks, age 74, of Bonham passed away Wednesday July 27, 2005 at residence in Bonham,  Texas. Funeral services will be held at loam Friday, July 29, 2005 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham.

Bro. David Bradley will officiate. Interment will follow in Gober Cemetery.

Mrs. Frailicks was born February 10, 1931 in Gober,  Texas to Newton & Monnie Smith Claxton. She married Cecil Ray (Buddy) Frailicks in Durant,  Oklahoma on August 24, 1963.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Gober. She was a retired food service worker from Sam Rayburn VA Center.

Survivors are husband Buddy Frailicks of the home; 2 sons Joe D. Compton of Bonham, TX., & James L. Compton of Dodd City, TX.; 4 grandsons Jarrod L. Compton, Judy R. Compton, Dusty R. Compton, D. Blake Compton; granddaughter Stacie Shelly ; great granddaughter Jerika R. Compton; great grandson Jarett Garcia & great granddaughter Harley Garcia; sister Nadene Hufford of Bonham, TX.; & brother Wayne Claxton of Sherman, TX..

Pallbearers will be Brent Frailicks, Orville Todd, Jeff Wallace, Doug Butler, John Culifer, Nathan Melson.

Family will receive friends from 7-8:30pm Thursday July 28, 2005 at Cooper Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham,  Texas.

JOSHUA FISHER, JR

BONHAM – Joshua Fisher, Jr., infant son of Joshua Fisher and Brandi Wallace of Bonham passed away Wednesday, Sept. 7 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham. Officiating was Bro. Morgan Malone. Interment followed in Randolph Cemetery.

He is survived by: father, Joshua Fisher of Bonham; mother, Brandi Wallace of Bonham; brother, Austin Joe Fisher of Bonham; grandparents, Donna and Porter Wallace of Dodd City, Sharon and Mark Morton of Denison and Joe and Michelle Fisher of Bonham; great grandmother, Frances Howard of Dallas; great grandfather, David McBride of Dodd City; great grandmother, Wilma Kreitel of Bonham; aunts and uncles, David and Nancy Fogleman, Renee Wallace, Barbara Dawson, Benjamin Lindsay, Gene Fogleman, Carla and Mike Codner, Carrie and Curtis Roskowske, Kourtney Fisher, Felley and Chris Fisher, Jody Fisher, Amber and Timmy Wakefield; godmother, Barbara Dawson of Houston.

Preceded in death by aunt, Christy Wallace.

The family received friends 7 – 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9 at the funeral home.

Eula Marie Fairchild

Eula Marie Fairchild , age 65, passed away March 2, 2006 at her residence in Bonham,  Texas. Chapel services will be held at 11am Monday March 6, 2006 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham. Officiating will be Bro. Troy Miles. Burial will follow in Mulberry Cemetery in Mulberry Community. She was born April 15, 1940 in Hoovertown,  Texas to Richard Lee & Arlie Edna  Woods Peek.

She is survived by son Billy Dean Yandell of Bonham, Tx.; grandchildren Sonseea Baker, Chad Yandell, Candice Yandell, Anthony Hudson & Christina Gannon; 7 great grandchildren; brother Tommy Peek of Bonham, TX.; sisters Mary  Jones of Bonham, TX., Tamaria Ledshaw of Dallas, TX., Martha Sue Jenson of Ft. Collin, Co. & Linda Whitworth of Van Buren, Ark.; numerous nieces & nephews.

Preceded in death by parents & sisters Tommie Lynn Perry & Purnie Jean Kirk.

Pallbearers will be Charles Whitworth, Anthony Hudson, Billy Moore, Dudley Baker, Billy Gannon & Steve Peek.

Family will receive friends from 6-8pm Sunday March 5, 2006 at the funeral home.

Sunday morning, May 16, 2004, Eugenio Garcia departed this life to be with his Heavenly Father, Eugene was 81 years of age and was a wonderful husband and father. He was married to Carmen Garcia and together, they honored a marriage that would have celebrated their 60 years together this month. Hard working and devoted, he loved and nurtured fourteen children to maturity. He was the loving grandfather to 47 children. Eugene loved spending time with his family. Whether it was fishing, or watching his sons roping competitions, or simply telling stories together, he was there for his family always supporting them. Eugemo led a beautiful family that could always be recognized walking down the street, hand-in-hand (in stair steps) on an occasional outing. Eugene was a relentless worker and treasured using his hands to work God's land. He was considered a handsome man, full of strength and honor. Sunday morning, as Eugene's church family of Calvary Baptist Church held him up in prayer, his suffering ceased. His love and leadership will be missed by all who had the privilege to know him. Also Preceded in Death by Ysidra Guerra, Juanita Salines & Brother Domingo Garcia.

THEO OLEN GARRETT

Bonham- Funeral Services for Theo Olen Garret t, age 80, of Bonham will be held Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at 2 PM at the Cooper-Sorrells Chapel in Bonham. Mr. Garrett was born September 20, 1923 in Boswell,  Oklahoma. He married Nina Lou Vansickle October 22, 1994 in Sherman,  Texas. He was a retired carpenter. Mr. Garrett died June 13, 2004 in the Sam Rayburn Veterans Nursing Home in Bonham. Internment will be June 24, 2004 in Chapel Of The Chimes in Hayward, California.

Mr. Garrett is survived by his wife, Nina Gaaett of Bonham; 2 sons, Richard Garrett of Roy, Utah and Greg Garrett of Castervalley, California; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 1-2 PM Wednesday at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

Jean Copeland Gibson went to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, Sept. 6, 2004. Services will be held at Boyd Baptist Church in Bonham, TX. on Thursday, Sept. 9th at 2:00 pm under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham. Rev. Jerry Clements, Rev. Lyn Holly will officiate. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Ravenna, TX.

Mrs. Gibson was born October 17,1934 in Orange, TX.. She was the daughter of Felbert & Bobbie Mae Vaughn Copeland. Jean married Paul Ray Gibson on November 11, 1969 & was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Sherman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Allen Copeland & Juelette Copeland.

Mrs. Gibson is survived by her husband, Paul Ray Gibson, of the home, son Charles Huckaby & wife Diana of Austin, TX.; daughter Phyllis  Johnson & husband Larry of Ravenna, TX.; step-son Ricky Gibson & wife Monnie of Marshall, TX.; stepdaughter Paula Savage of Marshall, TX.; sister in laws Lola Copeland of Point Blank, Tx. & Bobbie Copeland of Orange, TX.; 9 grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Brent Speck, Ronnie Coonrod, Glen Hamby, Robert Zischkale, Rex  Jackson & Lyn Holly. Honorary Pallbearers will be Grady Cockerham, Justin Bankston & the David Class of Boyd Baptist Church.

Family will receive friends 7-8pm Wednesday, September 8th, 2004 at CooperSorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

PAUL RAY GIBSON

Sherman - Paul Ray Gibson, age 73, of Sherman passed away Wednesday October 6, 2004 at Wilson N.  Jones Hospital in Sherman, TX. Services will be held at 2:OOPM Friday, October 8, 2004 at Boyd Baptist Church in Bonham under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham. Officiating will be Rev. Jerry Clements & Rev. Lyn Holly. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Ravenna, TX.

Mr. Gibson was born on May 13, 1931, in Longview, TX., raised by Eunice 'Auntie' & Alvin Jones. He married Jean Copeland Gibson on November 11, 1969, she preceded him in death on Sept. 6, 2004. He was a Sales Manager of Electrical Supplies & a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Sherman.

Surviving are son Ricky Gibson & wife Monnie of Marshall, TX,; Daughter Paula Sawyer of Marshall, TX.; Stepson Charles Huckaby & wife Diana of Austin, TX.; stepdaughter Phyllis  Johnson & husband Larry of Ravenna, TX.; 9 Grandchildren & 9 Great Grandchildren; brother Glen Gibson & wife Wanda of Longview, TX.; brother in law Charles Cavender & wife Madeline of Shreveport, LA.

Preceded in death by wife, parents, & 2 sisters Reba Kulig Beatty & Nita Cavender. Pallbearers will be Glen 'Wink' Hamby, Ronnie Coonrod, Robert Zischkale, Justin Bankston, Lyn Holly & Rex Jackson.

Charles Richard Goerdt of Bonham,  Texas, went to heaven to be with his beloved wife, Lynne, on Friday, December 10, 2004. Chuck loved his wife dearly, and he died of a broken heart on the day of her service. Their memories were honored together in a service that celebrated their love for each other. By God's divine grace, they are reunited for eternity. May they rest in peace together.

Surviving are his five children, son - Chris Goerdt of Bonham,  Texas; daughters Kathey McDaniel of Trenton,  Texas, Lisa Goerdt of Dallas,  Texas, Sarah Arduengo of Allen,  Texas, Pam Russell of Carrollton,  Texas along with nine grandchildren and many other relative who will miss him greatly.

Condolences can be sent in lieu of flowers to. Sarah Arduengo, 1320 Hillcrest Drive, Allen,  Texas 75002.

Lynne Ann Goerdt

Bonham, TX. - Lynne Ann LaBarge Goerdt, age 68, of Bonham, TX. passed away Monday, December 6, 2004 at Wilson N.  Jones Hospital in Sherman, TX.. Memorial services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, December 10, 2004 at Cooper-Sorrells Chapel in Bonham, TX.. Bro. Leon Martin will officiate.

She was born on February 2, 1936 in Dubuque, IA to John Joseph & Harriett Hinds LaBarge. She was a Registered Nurse at  Texas State Veteran's Hospital in Bonham, TX. She was survived by Husband Charles Richard Goerdt of the home; son Christopher & Robyn Goerdt of Bonham, TX.; 4 Daughters Kathy & Roy McDaniel of Trenton, TX, Pam Russell of Carrolton, TX, Lisa Goerdt of Dallas, TX., & Sarah & Al Arrduengo of Allen, TX.; 9 grandchildren; 4 sisters, Mary Link of Davenport, IA, Pat Schwartz of Scherts, IA, Barbara Salisbury of Davenport, IA, & Mitzi LaBarge of Dubuque, IA.

Preceded in death by parents & brother Luke LaBarge.

MARY LOUISE "LOU" GLENN

Graveside services for Mary Louise Glenn, age 90, of Bonham,  Texas will be held at Madill  Oklahoma at Woodberry-Forest Cemetery on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at 2:00 PM. Mrs. Glenn will lie in state at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home prior to service. Mrs. Glenn passed away Sunday, April 10, 2005 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.

Mary Louise was born December 16, 1914 to Edward P. Schneider and Lora Reid Schneider.

She graduated from Madill High School in 1931 and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree from Southeastern  Oklahoma in Durant in 1935. She received a Master of Business Education degree from the University of  Oklahoma in Norman in 1941. She did additional graduate study at Peabody College, Nashville, Tennessee; University of Oregon, Eugene, Oregon, and University of North  Texas, Denton.

Membership in professional and academic organizations included Sigma Kappa sorority, Pi Omega Pi, Kappa Delta Pi, Alpha Phi Sigma and Phi Beta Sigma. She had a lifetime membership in the American Association of University Women and the Business and Professional Women's Club.

While teaching at Antlers High School, she married fellow-teacher John Calvin Glenn, Jr. in Madill on December 30, 1937.

She had a career of 32 years as a professional educator, with varied experiences at the elementary, secondary and college levels, For eight years during the "50's", she was a teacher in the Bonham Independent School District. Other positions were with educational institutions in  Oklahoma, Tennessee, Oregon and Dallas. She retired in 1975 from El Cento College (DCCCD) in Dallas as a Business Education professor, honored as a MASTER TEACHER by the President of the college. Her autobiography appeared in the national publication "Outstanding Educators in American - 1975".

Mrs. Glenn and her husband returned to Bonham in 1975 upon their retirement to make their permanent home. Locally she was a member of the first United Methodist Church, Fannin County Retired Teachers, Fort Inglish Society, and the Fannin County Museum Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband on March 27, 1998. Survivors include; daughter Loralei Dopson of Corpus Christi,  Texas; granddaughter Lea Dopson of Lewisville,  Texas; sisters-in-law Faye Glenn of  Oklahoma City, and Bess Ward of Madill,  Oklahoma; nieces Jennifer Norton of Duncan,  Oklahoma and Elaine Warehime of Springdale, Arkansas.
