Samuel Ray Johnson

Samuel Ray Johnson, age 79, of Bonham, Tx. passed away Thursday, March 16, 2006 at Fairview Nursing Home in Bonham. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am Friday, March 17, 2006 at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home. Rev. Gene Owen will officiate. Mr.  Johnson was born in Bonham, Tx. on August 15, 1926 to Thomas  Jefferson & Mary Ella Dewoody Johnson.

He married Nona Beth Jenkins on February 13, 1934 in Edhube Community, Tx. Mr.  Johnson was a farmer & loved working with cattle & ranching. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by son James  Johnson & wife Barbara of Ravenna, Tx.; 6grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren & several nieces & nephews.

Preceded in death by parents, wife, son Kenneth Wayne Johnson; brothers Delton Johnson, Clark Johnson, Jewell  Johnson & Willard Johnson; & sisters Verna Lewis, Hazel Stoddard & Eloise Caffey.

Family will receive friends from 7-8pm Thursday night at the funeral home.

Herbert Kennedy

Bonham - Graveside services for Mr. Herbert Kennedy, age 78, of Bonham will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, October 10, 2005 at Arledge Ridge Cemetery near Bonham. Officiating will be Rev. Brian Rayburn. Mr. Kennedy passed away Saturday, October 8, 2005 in Seven Oaks Care Center in Bonham. He was born on October 21, 1926, the son of the late Thomas Olen and Lela Opal Cash Kennedy. Mr. Kennedy was married to Erma Irene Reed Kennedy in June 1945 in Los Angeles, CA., she preceded him in death. He was retired machinist for West Lock, served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his Brothers and Sisters - Billie Ruth Maza of Dodd City; Una Jo Warner of Sherman; Margaret Thomas of Savoy; Reba Kennedy of Bonham; John Kennedy of Dodd City; Paul Kennedy of McAlester, OK.; Thomas Kennedy of Dodd City; James Kennedy of Bonham; Linda Kennedy of Ft. Worth, Dickie Kennedy of Sherman; and Jackie Kennedy of Paris. Step-Son - Robert Spence of Kingman, Arizona.

The family will received friends from 4-5PM Sunday, October 9th at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

Loneta Keen

Loneta Keen, age 98, of Telephone,  Texas passed away February 13, 2006 at Seven Oaks Care Center in Bonham. Church services will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 16, 2006 at Telephone Baptist Church in Telephone. Interment will follow in Forest Grove Cemetery in Telephone, officiating will be Rev. Don Gallatin & Rev. Bill Thornton. She was born on March 11, 1907 in Telephone, TX., the daughter of the late Dilno & Mary Catherine (Molly) Bernethy. Loneta was married to Frank Keen on January 25, 1930 in Durant,  Oklahoma. She was the oldest member of Telephone Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. Also she was active in senior citizen's club.

She is survived by son Howard Keen of Telephone, TX.; daughter Becky  Johnson of Dorchester, TX.; son Tommy Keen & wife Barbara of Telephone, TX.; daughter Kathryn Davis of Telephone, TX.; daughter Ann Stone & husband Geron of Garland, TX.; special niece Mary Huggins of Temple, TX.; 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 11 step great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews.

Preceded in death by parents, husband, 2 brothers, 1 sister, 10 half brothers & sisters.

Pallbearers will be Tim Johnson, Steve Stone, Dewayne Stone, Nicholas Keen, Kraig  Johnson & Heath Davis. Honorary Pallbearers will be great grandsons.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 PM Wednesday night at Cooper Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

Thomas (Tom) Lane Kroeger

Thomas (Tom) Lane Kroeger, age 61, of Ivanhoe, TX. passed away at his home on Monday, March 13, 2006. Memorial services will be held at 10:00am Thursday, March 16, 2006 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham, TX. Rev. John Walther will officiate. Mr. Kroeger was born in Alton, Il. on June 22, 1944 to Edward Kroeger & wife Imogene Haynes Kroeger of Ivanhoe, TX.

He married Sherron Fay Henson on July 27, 1985 in Dallas, TX. Mr. Kroeger was a remodeling contractor for 35 years & an avid hunter. He was of the Lutheran faith

He is survived by his wife Sherron of Ivanhoe, TX.; 2 sons Dell Ray Kroeger of Irving, TX. & his wife Lori, Donde Kray Kroeger of Prescott Valley, Az.; daughter Penny Lee Kroeger Bauer & husband Todd of Camp Point, Il.; step son Donald Ray Henson & wife Marcy of Allen, TX.; mother Imogene Kroeger of Ivanhoe, TX.; 8 grandchildren Misty, Justin & William Kroeger, Candace, Amanda & Cassandra Bauer, Kate Lyn Kroeger & Ashley Henson; sister Mrs. Robert (Sandra Kay) Stine & husband of Flora, Il.; mother-in-law Pauline Rogers of Malacoff, TX. He was preceded in death by his father Edward Kroeger & father-in-law Eldon Rogers.

Bonham, TX. - Graveside services Martha Violeta Owens Lee, age 96, Bonham resident of 39 years, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2004, will be held at Owens Chapel Cemetery, in the Danner Community, at 2 p.m., Monday August 30, 2004. Rev. Gene Owen will officiate.

Martha was born on December 24, 1907 to Samuel & Melinda Owens in Merit, TX. Preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Henry Elisha Lee and son Nathan E. Lee, and 4 brothers & 2 sisters.

Martha was a member of Central Baptist Church in Bonham. She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. and a homemaker.

Survived by son Kenneth Wayne Lee & wife Jleetia of Grand Prairie, TX.; daughter Rebekah Vont of Grand Prairie, TX.; daughter La Vern Colwell & husband Bill of Roxton, TX.; sister Belle Campbell of Mesquite, TX.; grandsons & wives Tony and Lee Yarbrough of Midlothian, Bryan and Christy Lee of Benn Wheeler, Michael and Buffy Lee of Grand Prairie, Matthew Lee and David Lee.; great-grandchildren Mark and Amy Yarbrough of Reno, Nv., Kevin and Hannah Lee , Ben Wheeler, & Haley Lee of Grand Prairie; great-great grandchildren Christi Ann & Arik Yarbrough of Reno, Nv.; many nieces & nephews.

Family will receive friends from 6-8pm Sunday August 29, 2004 at the Funeral Home.

J.B. Landers

Dodd City - Funeral services for J.B. Landers., age 77, of Dodd City,  Texas will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Cooper-Sorrells Chapel in Bonham,  Texas. Burial will follow at Hampton Cemetery in Edhube Community. Officiating will be Rev. Morris Robbins . Mr. Landers passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at Medical Center of Plano. He was born on November 30, 1927 in McKinney,  Texas, the son of the late Jewell Brady & Mary Winnie Eldridge Landers.

He married Billie Cloud Landers, September 21, 1946 in Bonham,  Texas. Mr. Landers was in the U.S. Navy where he served in WWII. He was a paint contractor & a member of the Edhube Baptist Church.

He is survived by his beloved. wife Billie Landers of the home; son Ray (Bud) Allen Landers & wife Piinani of Plano, TX-; daughter Linda Landers of Bonham, TX.; daughter Laura Hartnett of Bonham, TX.; daughter Cynthia Ann Maxwell of Bonham, TX.; 9 grandchildren & 12 great grandchildren; brother- Clyde Landers of Quinlan, TX.; sister Helen Poole of Tennessee; sister Paula Dodson of Garland, TX.; numerous nieces & nephews.

Pallbearers will be Lance Hartnett, Jeremy Hartnett, Scott Pearson, Dillon Weeks, Ryan Thornton, Wesley Landers.

The family will receive friends from 7-8PM Friday night at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

Eulis Gene Larman- Van Alstyne

Eulis Gene Larman was born in Byers,  Oklahoma on November 7, 1935 to Arminta Willard and John Herbert Larman. He married Mary Nora Hagan on December 19, 1955 in Christmas, Arizona. Eulis served in the Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis as a sonarman. He worked for Collins Radio, Rockwall International, DSC Communications, and retired from Alcatel Communications in 2002. He was a member of the Bonham Ward of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He and wife Mary bought their dream ranch near Van Alstyne in 1996. He was successful in raising world class Paints and Quarter horses. Eulis died while working on the ranch on June 13, 2005.

Survivors include his wife Mary, sons Vern and wife Karen; Lorin and wife Twyla; Zachary and wife Imelda; Joshua and wife Olivia; and Jeremiah; daughter Yvonne and husband Brent; 28 Grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. Brother Kenneth and sisters Hazel, Marjorie, Jo and Wynema and Francisco, his friend and compadre. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Otho, and granddaughter Brittany. Funeral services under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham will be held 1 pm Friday, June 17, 2005 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bonham ward. Bishop Philip St. George will officiate. Burial will follow at 4 pm at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Rockwall. Family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Thursday at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home.

William Randal London

Bonham - William Randall London, age 71, of Bonham, passed away Monday, September 26, 2005 at his home. Church services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, September 30, 2005 at First United Methodist Church in Bonham. Rev. Tom Medley will officiate. Burial will be in Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham,  Texas. He was born on December 19, 1933 in Westminister,  Texas to William Roosevelt "Ted" & Thelma Cooley London. He married Mable Hailey on December 19, 1955 He was a disabled veteran and served in the U.S. Army for 7 years.

Mr. London was a retired teacher from Bonham ISD & a cattle rancher for 50 years. He had a Bachelor & Masters Degree in Industrial Technology. He was a member of Paragon Fraternity. Mr. London held memberships & leadership positions within First United Methodist Church & numerous civic clubs.

He is survived by wife Mable London of the home; daughters Cynthia Jones, Beth Hannes & Hailey Lantz; granddaughters Jennifer  Jones & Jill Hannes; grandsons Clint Jones, Beau Hannes, Patrick Lantz & Ryan Lantz; niece Anne Dennis; nephews Glen & Chris Dennis; brother in laws Al Dennis & Lester Hailey; sister in laws Betty Clevenger & Imogene Hailey; son in laws Kevin Hannes & Jody Lantz; uncle Jess London.

Preceded in death by parents; son John Randall London & sister Virginia Glynn London Dennis.

Family will receive friends Thursday night September 29, 2005 from 7:30-8:30pm at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

Roy Edgar Langley

Roy Edgar Langley, age 84, of Bonham, TX., passed away Thursday, November 10, 2005 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX. Services will be held at 2PM Monday, November 14, 2005 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham. Bro. James Henry will officiate. Burial will be in Arledge Ridge Cemetery with military honors.

Mr. Langley was born July 2,1921 to Henry Thomas & Lethel Mae Cummings Langley in Mena, Arkansas. He married Billie Jean Brown on October 12,1946 in Greenville, TX. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from Bell Helicopter in 1982. He was a member of the Edhube Baptist Church.

Survived by wife Billie Jean Langley of the home; daughter Sandra Murray and husband Jim of Ozark, Mo.; grandchildren Cpl. Jody Abar of Havelock, NC; Thomas Langley and Lara Alonzo of Arlington, TX.; 3 great grandchildren; daughter in law Susan Langley of Arlington; sister Macel Kelly of Livingston, TX. and Ruby Locklear of Kaufman, TX.

Preceded in death by son Larry Wayne Langley Feb. 23, 2005. Pallbearers will be Jody Abar, Tom Langley, Curtis Kinslow, George Hilliard, David Kincaid and Dolton Owens. Zealous Trout will serve as Honorary Pallbearer.

Dorothy M. Long

Bonham - On November 24, 2005 Dorothy M. Long went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whom she served faithfully at the Northside Church of Christ. Chapel services for Mrs. Long, age 84, of Bonham will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 27, 2005 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham. Officiating will be Mr. Charles Wren and Mr. Millard Doan Brent. Burial in Lamasco Cemetery. She was born on March 5, 1921 in Lamasco,  Texas to the late John  Jackson Jarrell and Julia Kate Wilks Jarrell. She married Leon Harvey Jarrell in 1943 in Providence, Rhode Island. He preceded her in death in 1957. She then married Roy Long in 1959 in Odessa,  Texas and he preceded her in death in 1968. Also preceded in death by one son Tommie Lee Jarrell on March 5, 1971, two brothers Lonnie Jarrell and Tom Ray Jarrell and one sister Fannie Marie Jarrell.

She is survived by two daughters Linda L. Boyer and husband Clifton of Bonham,  Texas and Carolyn S. Merworth and husband Robert of Comanche,  Texas; grandchildren Tammy Boyer Jeffries, Timothy R. Boyer and wife Adela, Cindy Shelley Durst, Travis D. Shelley, Shelley Jarrell Vega and husband Johnny, Kay Jarrell Kissinger and husband J.D. all of Bonham; great grandchildren Blake A. Herpeche, Jarod W. Jeffries, Kevin D. Boyer, Skye Durst, Arie Durst, Thomas McCain, Keith McCain, Jesse McCain, Kandace Kissinger, Elaina Kissinger, Dillion Kissinger all of Bonham; sisters Clara Faye Jarvis of El Paso,  Texas, Mary Helen Cox and Alpha Lee Moore of Bonham,  Texas; and one sister in law Juanita Jarrell of Lannius,  Texas.

Pallbearers will be Steve Mohundro, Gene Harvey, David Stapp, Rod Ralls, Millard Brent and Monte Rater. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Whirley, Roy Kemp and Ronnie Latimer.

Family will receive friends 7-8 pm Saturday Nov. 26, 2005 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home, Bonham.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Northside Church of Christ.

Pauline Lockaby

Ravenna - Funeral services for Pauline Lockaby, age 84, of Ravenna will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, Cooper-Sorrells Chapel in Bonham. Officiating will be Rev. Leon Martin and Rev. LeRoy Spradling, interment will follow in Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham. Mrs. Lockaby passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at Bonham Nursing Center. She was born on July 9, 1919 in Bonham, the daughter of the late Alexander and Nettie  Taylor Matlock. Mrs. Lockaby was married to Elbert Underwood in 1940 in Bonham, he preceded her in death in 1955, she later married Willis Lockaby on July 28, 1958 in Bonham, he preceded her in death in 1991. She worked at the Bonham Cotton Mill and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Bonham.

She is survived by her sons - Henry Underwood & wife Theresa of Arlington, and Jackie Underwood & wife Mary Kay of Ravenna. Four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Step-children - Sidney and Betty Underwood of El Paso, TX, Dorothy Caplinger of Bonham, Weldon and Ruth Underwood of Ravenna, Gene and Pat Underwood of Quinlan, TX, Raynell and Jim Hodges of Ravenna, Nancy and Sam Waitman and Richard and Jeanie Lockaby all of Kemp, OK.. Seventeen step grandchildren. Sisters - Merle Blake of Ft. Worth, TX., Vivian Meek and Vinita Matlock both of Bonham. Sister-in-law - Lorene Matlock of Bonham and brother-in-law - Vernon Young of Ft. Worth, TX.. She was preceded in death her son - Jimmy Underwood, brothers - Luke Matlock and Earl Matlock both of Bonham, sisters - Barbara Young of Ft. Worth, step-daughter - Rosalee Crocker, stepson - Gene Lockaby, son-in-law Wilson Caplinger, brothers-in-law - Elvin Blake of Ft. Worth and Raymond Meek of Bonham. Mrs. Lockaby loved her Lord and Savior and showed it by being faithful and working in her church. She was Sunday School Teacher, Board Member, and was active on many committees for her church. Many people had a very beautiful testimony, Pauline Lockaby lived her testimony and what else could say about someone you love would be as good at that.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Caplinger, Charles Underwood, Eric Underwood, Bryon Underwood, John Underwood, Von  Jones and Tim Meek.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 PM Wednesday night at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

Ricky Wayne Lorance

Ivanhoe,  Texas - Ricky Wayne Lorance, age 51, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2006 at his residence in Ivanhoe,  Texas. Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 15, 2006 at 10AM at Duplex Cemetery in Duplex Community.

Mr. Lorance was born in Dallas,  Texas on August 2, 1954 to William & Loretta Nichols Lorance. He was employed by Wal-Mart.

Survived by son Steven Lorance & wife Kellesha of Ivanhoe, Tx.; brother James Harold Lorance; sister Gina Lorance of Bonham, Tx.; 2 grandchildren; niece Misty Lorance; nephews Colton Lorance & Mitch Millhollan.

Preceded in death by parents, sister Daysha Lorance & brother Shane Lorance.

Family will receive friends at the family home on Friday.
