James Denny Price

Telephone - Funeral services for James Price, age 85, of Telephone will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at Cooper-Sorrells Chapel in Bonham. Internment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Price passed away Saturday, October 15, 2005 at Mullican Care Center in Savoy. He was born on March 25, 1922 in Fannin County,  Texas the son of the late Bart and Fannie  Taylor Price. Mr. Price was married to Estelle Wethery on December 25, 1941 in Savoy,  Texas. Mr. And Mrs. Price had been married for 63 years. He was a diesel mechanic and served in the US Navy; surviving the USS Indianapolis.

He is survived by his wife-Estelle Price of Telephone; Son-Ray & wife Helen Chesser of Telephone; Grandson-Glenn & wife Karen Chesser of Bonham and Darrel Chesser of Denison; Granddaughter-Judy & husband Larry Thomas of Telephone; Great Grandsons-Jeff and James Chesser both of College Station, Bradley and Dustin Thomas both of Telephone, and Brandon Chesser of Denison; Great Granddaughter-Carmen Chesser of Commerce, Kasie Thomas of Telephone, and Erica & husband Stephen Ruley of San Diego, CA; Great-Great Granddaughters- Anslie Ruley and Payton Ruley.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 PM Monday night at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

William Alfred Phillips

Funeral services for Mr. William Alfred Phillips, age 87, of Telephone will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at the Telephone Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Don Gallatin and Rev. Bill Thornton, interment will follow in Forest Grove Cemetery in Telephone. Mr. Phillips passed away early Monday morning, January 16, 2006 in Wilson N.  Jones Hospital in Sherman. He was born on April 5, 1918 in Telephone, the son of the late A.M. & Ruth Lee Gilbert Phillips. Mr. Phillips married Nellene Richie Phillips on October 16, 1937 in Dodd City. He was a carpenter and a lifetime member of Telephone Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife - Nellene Phillips of Telephone. Daughter - Billie McCraw & husband Jack of Telephone; Sons - Jimmy Phillips & wife Sue of Arlington and John Phillips of Telephone. Sister Pauline Dillon of Telephone. Grandchildren - Liz Morris & husband Roger of Graham, TX., Jackie Bevill & husband Jeff of Corpus Christi, TX., Mitch McCraw & wife Lori of The Wood Lands, TX. . Great Grandchildren -  Taylor Morris, Travis Morris, Will Morris, Jaci Hayes & husband Stony, Jared Bevill, Jamie Bevill, Molly McCraw and Jack Ryan McCraw. Great Great Grandson - Korben Hayes. Several nieces and nephews. Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his Son - Gary Phillips, Brothers - Gilbert Phillips and A.M. Phillips, Sister - Basil Ferguson.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 PM Tuesday night at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham. Memorials may be made to the Cal Farley’s Boy’s Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79105-9985 or American Cancer Society.

Juanita D. Pearson

Bonham - Graveside services for Mrs. Juanita D. Pearson, age 67 of Bonham will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at Arledge Ridge Cemetery near Bonham, officiating will be Rev. Brandon Dona.

Mrs. Pearson passed away Sunday, March 5, 2006 at her residence in Bonham. She was born on December 23, 1938 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Dallas and Mary England Thomas. Mrs. Pearson was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her Daughter - Connie Dyer & Fiance Kennie  Taylor of Bonham. Sons - Allen Dyer & wife Kay of Tatum, TX and Scott Dyer & wife Pat of Columbus, Ohio. Stepchildren - Keith Pearson & wife Jan of Mulberry Community and Mike Pearson & wife Debbie of Plano. Brother - Cecil Thomas of Bonham. Grandchildren - Amber Sisk & husband Jon of Bonham. Adam Davis & wife Amanda of Prescott, Az. Jacob Dyer, Zachary Dyer, Kristen Pearson, April Norfleet and Shelley Pearson. Great Grandchildren - Hunter Sisk, Hannah Sisk and Madison Davis. Nieces Debbie Braumley & husband Jerry ,Sandy York and Emily  Jones & husband Roy. Nephews - Stanley Felts & wife Marsha and David Felts & wife Alice.

Pallbearers will be Adam Davis, Jon Sisk, Mike Pearson, Stanley Felts, David Felts and Keith Pearson.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 PM Tuesday night at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

Veronica Heaven-Alyssa Perry

Honey Grove - Funeral services for Veronica Heaven-Alyssa Perry, 13 month old daughter of Teresa & Kevin Perry of Honey Grove, will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, April 14, 2006 at Living Word Church of God in Bonham. Officiating will be Bro. Bryan Rayburn, interment will follow in Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham.

Veronica was born on February 28, 2005 in Denison,  Texas, the daughter of Kevin Maquesta Perry, III and Teresa Ann Capehart Perry.

She is survived by her parents, brothers – Trenton Spencer and Marcus Perry. Grandparents – Robert & Sandy Dooley of Honey Grove; Kevin & Annette Perry of Honey Grove; Ronnie & Vicki Capehart of Ector; Gwen Perry of Carrolton and Richard Howard of Bonham. Great Grandparents – Joyce Brown of Carrolton and Wallace & Joyce Graves of Lavon. Several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Preceded in death by sister – Tori Alyssa Perry in 2003.

The family will receive friends from 7-9PM Thursday night at the church.

Pallbearers will be Chris Cooper, Kevin Perry, Jr., J.D. Murrell and Steve Deckard. Honorary Pallbearer will be Chris Hill.

Edith Charlene Stults, age 79, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at Northeast Medical Center in Bonham,  Texas. Services will be held Saturday, June 12, at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham, with Mr. Carl Dye officiating. Graveside will be at Moore Cemetery in Arlington, TX. at 3:00p.m.. Mrs. Stults was born on August 29, 1924 in Arlington,  Texas, daughter of Ferman Davis & Viva Frances (Fannie) Isom Jordan.

She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Edith's favorite hobby was making quilts. She attended Northside Church of Christ.

Surviving are husband James (Barney) Wallace Stults of the home; daughter Mary Frances Martin & husband Joseph of Plano, Tx.; son Donald Stults & wife Juanita of Sanger, Tx.; son Ronald Stults & wife Ann of Denton, Tx.; grandchildren- Alicia Trimarco, Kelli Holdsclaw, Brian Stults, Jason Stults, Jeff Martin, Sheryl Jeffrey & Joe Martin; great grandchildren Virginia Jeffrey and Ashley & Alex Martin. Preceded in death by one brother Ferman Jordan.

Family will receive friends at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home at 9a.m. Saturday, June 12, 2004 prior to the service.

Memorial service for U.S.N. Retired Petty Officer Phillip Gorman Sigrist Sr., 65, of Bonham, TX. will be held at 2:00pm Friday June 18, 2004, at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Chapel of Bonham. He died Monday June 14, 2004 at his residence. Rev. Sammy Hargrove will officiate. Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home of Bonham is in charge of arrangements.
He was born March 1 l, 1939 in Ennis, Tx., to Lester Charles & Julia Elvira Wilke Sigrist. He married Janie B. Sigrist on September 22, 1965 in Pensacola, Fl.

Phillip was retired from the U.S. Navy after serving over 20 years. Also he was employed by Clayton Homes in Bonham.

He is survived by his wife, Janie B. Sigrist; daughter Kim Parsons & husband Richard of Bonham; son Phillip Sigrist Jr. & wife Nancy of McKinney, Tx.; son Carl Sigrist of Frisco, Tx.; daughter Angela Manen & husband Steve of Mesquite, Tx.; Grandchildren Kimberly, Robert & Douglas Parsons, Amanda, Amber & Cassandra Sigrist, Mathew Sigrist, Andrew & Aaron Marien, Great Granddaughter Karisma Logan; 1 sister Joyce Daffern of Abilene, Tx.; and Schnauzer, beloved companion Archibald Frederick Sigrist (Fritz).

Ft. Worth- Harriett Ann Simpson, 44, formally of Bonham, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2004, at Baylor All Saints Hospital in Ft. Worth, TX., Services are scheduled for Saturday, August 7, 2004 at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Bonham at 2 p.m.. Rev. E. R. Spencer and Rev. W. L. Gilstrap will officiate. Family visitation will be held Friday August 6, 2004 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gates Hill Cemetery in Bonham, TX.

Harriett was born in Hamlin, TX., December 20, 1959 to Harold & Joyce Mae (Reed) Simpson, who preceded her in death. She attended and graduated from Bonham High School in 1978. She also attended Grayson County College-Denison, TX., East  Texas State University-Commerce, TX., North  Texas State University and  Texas Women's University-Denton, TX., where she received an associates degree in Elementary Education, Nursing and Paralegal. She was employed at Consumer Credit Counseling.

Harriett was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Wilson, Dave Bennett, Bryce Mc Intyre, Tony Perry, Glen Means and Richard Elliott. Honorary Pallbearer Melvin Stewart.

Survivors are sister Peggy Mason & husband Earl III of Ft. Worth, Tx., niece Joycelyn Mitchell & husband Pete, nephew Earl Mason, IV & Melissa, niece Vannessa Mason & Paul, niece Rebekah Mason, nephew Jason Mason & Jessica, great nephews- Bryson & Brayton Mitchell, Romeo & Romance Dunlap, Earl V & Donavan Mason, great nieces- Aysha & Ashilyn Mitchell, Tilliani Johnson, Dymond & Jordyn Mason, uncle Louis Mason, former husband Dannie Phea, & a host of friends. The family wishes to express their thanks for all acts of kindness during the illness and passing away of their loved one, Harriett Simpson. May God continue to bless and keep you all.

Telephone, TX. - Freddie Leon Shastid Jr., 51, of Telephone, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2004. Services will be held at Randolph Baptist Church in Randolph, TX. on Friday, Sept. 17th at 10:00am under the direction of Cooper Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham. Bro. David Brackett will officiate. Burial will be at Randolph- Lindsey Cemetery in Randolph, TX..

Mr. Shastid was born December 12,1952 in Bonham, TX.. He was the son of Freddie Leon Shastid Sr. & Anna Bell Redmon Morgan.

Mr. Gibson is survived by Mother Anna Bell (Bugs) Morgan of Randolph, TX.; son Jeremy Shastid of Durant, Ok.; son Freddie Shastid of Telephone, TX.; daughter Brandy Shastid of Durant, Ok.; 4 Grandsons; brother Ted Shastid, Bonham, TX.; brother David Shastid of Bonham, TX.; Step Father Jack Morgan, Nephew Chris Shastid & Niece Nikki Shastid.

Family will receive friends 7-8pm Thursday, September 16th, 2004 at Cooper Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.

Elisandro Salazar Jr.

Bonham- Elisandro Salazar, age 64, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2004 at his residence in Bonham,  Texas. Visitation will be held at 2-4pm Friday, October 22, 2004 at Cooper Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham.

Mr. Salazar was born on September 3, 1940, in Hondo, TX. to Elisandro Sr.& Enriquetta Flores Salazar, where he attended Hondo schools. Married Shirley Hunt Salazar in Pineville, La. on December 18, 1962.

He was retired Chief of Police at Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center in Bonham. Also, retired 20 years from U.S. Air Force.

Survivors are wife Shirley Salazar of Bonham, TX.; daughter Mary Salazar Nevers of McKinney, TX.; daughter Nelley Alesandra Nichols & husband Jory of Ivanhoe, TX.; grandson Jacob Sebastian Nichols; & brother Ernest Salazar of Hondo, TX.

Rita Kay Smith

Bonham- A million times we have thought of you. A million times we have cried. If our love alone would have saved you, you never would have died. Dear heart of gold stopped beating. Hard working hands at rest. God broke our heart to prove to us he only takes the best. In life we loved you dearly. In death we love you still. In our heart you hold a place. No one can ever fill. It breaks our heart to lose you. But you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you. The day God took you home. Your loving family and friends. We'll miss you Rita.

Rita Kay Smith, age 58, of Bonham, passed away Monday, October 18, 2004 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison,  Texas. Memorial services will be held at 1:30PM Saturday, October 23, 2004 at Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Chapel in Bonham under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home, Bonham. Officiating will be Chaplin Gene Owen.

Mrs. Smith was born on October 17, 1946, in Crosby, Minnesota, to Kenneth Marvin Harrison & Elaine Rodin G. Popolo. She was employed by Sam Rayburn Memorial VA in the food service department. She was of the Lutheran faith.

Survivors are mother Elaine G. Popolo of Applevalley, California; sisters Karen Goette of Ohio, Edie Matteson & husband Gordon of Crosby, Minnesota, Sharon Biddle & husband Donald of Ft. Mohave, Arizona & Laura Persefield of Applevalley, California; daughter Sherry Lynn Brown & husband Chris of Leslie, Michigan; son Arthur Glenn Ostrander & wife Karen of Leslie, Michigan; daughter Linda Elaine Harmon of Leslie, Michigan; son Danny Paul Ostrander & wife Marcia of Leslie, Michigan; former husband William Smith of Bonham,  Texas; step children Curtis Smith of Bonham,  Texas & Becky Crouch of Murphy,  Texas; grandchildren Danny Dale, Brandie, Zachary, Arrik, April, Arthur Jr. & Kaitlyn; step grandchildren Brian, Crissy, Jennifer, Stephine & Jason. Many loving nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, friends & extended family & co workers. She was loved by all.

Preceded in death by sister Louise Marie Bates; brother Kenneth Marvin Harrison Jr; granddaughter Hope Ranee Ostrander; father Kenneth Harrison; grandparents Aleph & Edith Rodin & Oscar & Laura Harrison; step grandfather Axel Landin.

After fighting a very hard battle after surgery. Rita decided it was time to join her grandparents, father, sister, brother & granddaughter in Heaven. We all will miss her greatly and she will live in our hearts forever.

Bill Scrivner

Elwood Community - Bill Scrivner, age 91, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at his residence in Elwood Community. Services will be held at 2pm Saturday, November 6, 2004 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham, TX.. Bro. Don Gallatin & Bro. Bill Thornton will officiate. Visitation will be held 6-8pm Friday, November 5, 2004 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Duplex Cemetery.

Mr. Scrivner was born on July 25, 1913, in Colbert, OK to Morgan Edward & Mary James Crow Scrivner. He married Ruth Rice on January 4, 1941 in Fannin County. He was a Deacon at Telephone Baptist Church. He was on the School Board for North Fannin, Sam Rayburn Schools. Also a member of Telephone Masonic Lodge #348 where he received the Golden Trowell Award for 50 years service. From early age Mr. Scrivner was raised by Dennis & Amy Gibbs. A true horseman. His home, and heart was always open to share his love of horses & ranching. Mr. Scrivner a self made rancher, provided well for his family & always will be remembered by the many lives he touched. Pallbearers will be Telephone Masonic Lodge & Honorary Pallbearers will be Telephone Baptist Church Deacons & Bill Rowland.

Survivors are wife Ruth Rice Scrivner of Elwood Community, daughters Jo Cook of Paris, TX, Donna Mosley & husband Mike of Elwood Community; son Harold Latham & wife Kathy of Elwood Community; sister Kathryn Keeton of Tulip, TX.; nephew James Bohannan of Bonham, TX.; 11 grandchildren & 12 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents & son William Michael Scrivner.
