Bennie  Johnson Watson Huddleston

Bennie A. Huddleston, known to her family and friends as Speedball and to the grater community as Granny from Grandy's passed away on June 2, 2005 in Sleepy Hollow, New York. Bennie was a fun loving soul who told a mean story and kept everyone in stitches with her wry sense of humor. From her days in her mother Beulah's beauty shop, through her time at TI and Grandy's, and her stay at Victoria Home in New York. Bennie showed a keen understanding of the basic nature of people and used her wonderful personality to reach out to young people, cheer-up someone who seemed down, and to bring people of all backgrounds together. She truly loved people and took every opportunity to meet them and to advocate for them. Her zest for life and a great sense of curiosity will carry on. We will forever remember and miss that twinkle in her eye and the twist of her mouth as she wet her lips to deliver one of her famous Bennieisms.
