Paul Douglas Keeton
April 26, 2004
Paul Douglas Keeton age 69, died April 11, 2004 at his home in Woodville. He was a retired Navy Veteran and fought in the Korean War on the USS Eversole DD 789. Paul also retired from Halliburton as a compressor engineer in 1991 in  Texas.
Paul Keeton is preceded in death by his mother, Clara Lavada Keeton of Russellville, Arkansas and step-daughter, Jessie Cordrell Scott of Maine.
Survivors are his wife Frankie Cordrell Keeton of Woodville; children, Rebecca Ann Baggett, Roy Allen Keeton, Denise Lavada Roush and husband Randy Roush all of Russellville, Arkansas, Mary Elizabeth Keeton of Denison and Douglas Wayne Keeton and wife Pam of Silver Springs, Maryland; step-children are Joseph Matthew Durand and wife Marie of Dallas, Homer Leon Durand and wife Madelyn of Kountze and step-son in law Malcolm Scott of Portland, Maine; grandchildren 5; step-grandchildren 10; great grandchld 1; step great grandchild 1; sister, Margretta Greathouse and husband Gene of Russellville, Arkansas, Janice Porter of Kentucky; brother, James Keeton and wife Sandra of Russellville, Arkansas and David Keeton of Dallas; several nieces and nephews.
He's gone home and not forgotten but very loved.
Services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.

William B. "Bill"  White
April 26, 2004
William B. "Bill"  White, 50, of Orange, died Friday, April 16, 2004 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Orange Hospital in Orange. His service was held Monday, April 19, 2004 at 10 a.m. at Dorman Funeral Home. The Rev. Lynn Ashcraft, pastor of North Orange Baptist Church officiated.
Visitation was held Sunday from 4 - 9 p.m. at Dorman Funeral Home.
A native a lifelong resident of Orange, Mr.  White was born December 18, 1953. He graduated from High School in 1973. A US Navy veteran, he was a bricklayer with the A-Team.
He is survived by his parents Ben and Anne  White of Orange; wife, Leah  White of Orange; daughter, Keli  White of Orange; brother and sister-in-law Mark and Patsy  White of Orange; brother, David  White of Houston; sister and brother-in-law Laura and David May of Woodville; and nephew Corey May of Woodville.
Services were under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home of Orange.

Mildred Elene Hart
April 26, 2004
Graveside services for Mildred Elene Hart age 78 of Woodville and formerly of Grapeland will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Refuge Cemetery with Rev. Ray Reed officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster, Grapeland.
Mrs. Hart died Sunday at Memorial Hospital in Lufkin. She was born Feb. 9, 1926 in Brownsboro to George Oscar and Minnie Adelle Neel Isget. Mrs. Hart was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Mrs. Hart was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eli Duncan Hart in 2002; sisters Lillie Mae Allen, Estelle Adair, and Lura Belle Smith; brothers, Milburn Earl Isget, and Billy Joe Isget. She is survived by her daughter Teresa Hart Walley of Woodville; a son, Phil Hart of Doucette; brother, John Albert Isget of Grapeland; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

John "Prentice" Goza
April 26, 2004
John "Prentice" Goza, 56, of Colmesneil, passed away Friday, April 16, 2004 at the  Texas Veterans Home in Big Springs.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 19 at 11 a.m. in the Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with burial in Fairview Cemetery at Dam-B. Officiating was Paul Boughan.
Serving as pallbearers were Darrel Waldrep, Darrel Edward Waldrep, Beau Goza, Jeromy Goza, Harold Hanks, Billy Mack. Honorary pallbearers were Douglas Crosby and Preston Crosby.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 18 from 5 - 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Prentice was born July 7, 1947 to John C. and Clarice Crosby Goza in Beaumont. He was a U. S. Marine Vietnam veteran. He was a former operator for Exxon Refinery in Baytown and had moved to Colmesneil in 1982.
He is survived by his mother, Clarice Crosby Goza of Colmesneil; daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and Bruce Stokes of Santa Fe and Brittany and Justin Walker of Pasadena; brother and sister-in-law, George and Karen Goza of LaPorte; sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Lyle Barham of Colmesneil; five grandchildren, one niece, four nephews and four great nieces and nephews.
Services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.

Lester Wigley
April 26, 2004
Lester Wigley, 83, of Woodville, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2004 at Dogwood Trails Manor in Woodville.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 18 at 2 p.m. in the Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with burial in Stryker Cemetery in Corrigan. Officiating was Brother Van Lowe.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 17 from 5 - 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Lester was born Oct. 22, 1920 to Fred Burton and Arie Ling Wigley in Emilee (Tyler County). He was a lifelong resident of Tyler County and was a retired maintenance supervisor with WISD and was a US Army WWII veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lillian Wigley of Woodville; son and daughter-in-law, Billy Earl and Karen Wigley of Woodville; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Joe Gassiott of Burkeville; grandchildren, Winona Carol Dyson of Woodville, Billy C. Wigley of  Louisiana, Lester C. Wigley of Montana, Alexis Cheyenne Wigley of Woodville; Michael Andre Gassiott of Dallas, and Joe Marcus Gassiott of Waskom; great grandchildren, Lance, Jody, Meagan, Kara, Kaytlin, Corbin and Darcy Joe.
Services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.

Dorothy Stanford
April 26, 2004
Dorothy Stanford, 90, of Bourg, LA, passed away on Friday, April 16, 2004 in Houma, LA.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, April 20 at 11 a.m. in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Woodville.
Visitation was held Tuesday, April 20 from 9 - 10:30 a.m. at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husbands Louis Lichenstein, Sr. and Leland Stanford; sons, Louis Lichenstein, Jr. and Charles Lichenstein and great grandson, Samuel Thomas Job. She is survived by her daughter, Betty Elliott of Hillister; sons, Robert Lichenstein and wife Suzie, Billy R. Lichenstein and Donald L. Lichenstein all from the Houma, LA area; 23 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 22 great- great grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.

Owen (Poker) King

Owen (Poker) King, 48, of Woodville, died Saturday, April 17, 2004 at Tyler County Hospital in Woodville. Funeral services will be Wednesday April 21, at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Woodville with Rev. C. O. Hadnot officiating with burial at the Moss Community Cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Coleman's Tyler County Funeral Home in Woodville.
Owen was a life long resident of Woodville and worked for Kellers Industries.
Owen leaves to cherish his memories, wife, Gwendolyn King of Woodville; daughter, Lexi King of Woodville; step-mother, Ruby King of Orange; sisters, Arma King, Peggy King both of Woodville and Joy King, Joann King and Mattie King all of Orange; brothers, Larry Thomas, Leonard Broussard, Jackie Broussard all of Woodville; grandmother, Lizar Rigsby of Woodville and a host of other relatives and friends.

Phillip Taylor

Phillip Taylor, 59, of Corrigan, died Sunday, April 11, 2004 at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital in Nacogdoches. Graveside services will be on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Darden Cemetery, under the direction of Coleman's Tyler County Funeral Home in Woodville.
He leaves to cherish his memories, one brother, Morris  Taylor of Woodville; and four sisters, Lawrene Price, Iris Bailey, and Emma Walker all of Corrigan and Louise Starghill of Diboll.

Barner Davis
April 26, 2004
Barner Davis, 88, of Nogalus Prairie, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2004 at his residence.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 17 at 2 p.m. the Groveton Funeral Home with burial at Calvary Cemetery. Officiating was Brother Horace Fletcher and Nathan Davis. Grandsons Phillip Mashaw and Shaun Goins folded and presented the US flag; grandson Ricky Davis sang and grandson Jeffrey Davis played the piano.
Visitation was held Friday, April 16 from 6 - 8 p.m.
Barner was born Feb. 14, 1916 in Trinity County. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a Veteran of WWII serving with the US Army. He retired from 25 years of service with Lufkin Industries.
Barner was preceded in death by his first wife Hazel King Davis and a son Lloyd Davis. He is survived by his wife Mary Davis of Houston; sons and daughters-in-law, O'Neal and Carolyn Davis of Nogalus Prairie, Lewis and Jerri Davis of Pasadena, Rayford and Marilyn Davis of Centerville, Johnny and Carmen Davis of Nogalus Prairie, Donny and Terri Davis of Nogalus Prairie; daughter and son-in-law, Linda Kay and Kenneth Wood of Colmesneil; daughter, Helen Mason and the late Jack Mason of Zavalla; 22 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Lynn Prothro, Shannon Davis, Donny Shane Davis, Doyle Davis, Doug Wood, Tyson Davis, Wesley Davis and Brandon Davis. Honorary pallbearers were Gayland Davis, Garland Davis and Wayland Davis.
Services were under the direction of Groveton Funeral Home of Groveton.

Arthur Willard Davis, Sr.
April 26, 2004
Arthur Willard Davis, Sr., 82, of Woodville went to be with the Lord on April 17, 2004.
Born July 30, 1921 in Boerne, to Frank and Amellia Davenport Davis. He lived in Woodville for many years. He was a heavy equipment mechanic for Brown and Root with 17 years of service. He was a WWII Army Veteran who was a P. O. W. in Germany for 11 months and 10 days. He was a lifetime member of the V. F. W. Post #8568 in Livingston and a member of the Woodville United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jo Anne Davis; two sons, Boyd Davis of Pasadena and Arthur Davis, Jr. of Folsom, LA; two daughters, Cindy Andrus of Boise, ID and Saundra Brooks of Houston; three sisters, Victoria "Vicki" Hunkapiller of Woodville, Dicy Huling of Woodville and Frankie Glenn of Boerne; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Davis was most remember in Woodville for the many yards he mowed.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 20, 2004 at 3 p.m. at the Woodville United Methodist Church with Rev. Ray Reed and Rev. Elton Reed officiating. Full military honors followed at Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville.
Serving as Honorary pallbearers were Willie Wilson, Jess Collins, Neal Sheffield, J. W. Lazenby, Vernon Irwin and Jerry Townsend.
Memorials may be made to the Woodville United Methodist Church or The McFaddin Cancer Center, 690 North St. Beaumont, TX. 77704.
Services were entrusted to Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.

Larry Wayne Ling, Sr.
April 26, 2004
Larry Wayne Ling, Sr., 51, of Woodville passed away April 19, 2004 at the Jasper Convalescent Center.
Born July 8, 1952 in Silsbee to James Walter Ling, Sr. and Billie Christine Rawls, he lived in Woodville for two years. He was a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Mr. Ling is survived by his loving family, his mother, Billie Christine Ling of Woodville; sons, Larry Wayne Ling, Jr. and Martin Walter Ling both of San Antonio and Joshua Wade Ling and wife, Kelly Diane of North Carolina; daughters, Tanya Michelle Ling of San Antonio and Misty Ling of Kountze; brothers, James Walter Ling, Jr. and wife, Rhonda of Bastrop, Carl Edward Ling and wife, Joann of Freeport and Mark Keith Ling of Houston; sister, Linda Christine Hornung of Palver, Alaska; five grandsons and two granddaughters.
Cremation services were handled under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Services were entrusted to Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.
