Barron Judd (Sonny) Collier, 66, entered into eternal rest and peace on October 9, 2004. A memorial service will be held Saturday October 23, 2004 at 2pm at Grace Lutheran Church, 2515 Waugh Drive in Houston,  Texas. A private internment will be at Beech Creek Cemetery in Spurger,  Texas on Sunday October 24, 2004.
He was born in Crockett,  Texas on Sept. 27, 1938 to J.H. (Jud) and Evelyn Collier. He spent his childhood in Warren,  Texas where he finished High School and was a member and leader of the choir at the First Baptist Church for several years. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed by the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Houston and Dallas for 10 years as a painter/finisher.
He is preceded in death by his Father, Mother, and Nephew, Stan Tiner.
He leaves to Cherish his memories: brother Billy Collier of Dallas, sisters Peggy Tiner and Joyce Holmes and her husband Paul of Warren, and brother Larry Collier and his wife Barbara of Houston, 4 nephews, 2 nieces, 6 great-nephews, 5 great-nieces, and numerous loving friends.
He appreciated all the thoughts, prayers, cards and visits from his friends and family.
He will be greatly missed and forever loved and remembered.

Malvern Lois Stike
October 25, 2004
Malvern Lois Stike, Age 87, went home to be with Jesus on October 13, 2004. She was born July 12, 1917 in Tyler,  Texas. Lois was a former resident of Woodville,  Texas. Preceded in death by husband, Grady E. Stike; son Grady Jr.; parents Brooksie and Ruby Campbell and brother M.B. Survived by 4 daughters.
Eileen  Jones and husband Cherry of Houston; Elizabeth Cook of  Texas City; Sherry Rose and husband Billy of Woodville; Orie Holly and husband Mike of Houston; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers are grandsons Tom Harris of Idaho, Wayne Rose of Silsbee, Darryl Rose of Woodville, John Cook of  Texas City, Joshua Bear of Houston and Jacob Bear of Houston. A graveside service was held October 15, 2004, at Brookside Cemetery in Houston.

Lester Neil
October 25, 2004
Lester Neil, 89, of Colmesneil passed away Monday, Oct. 11, 2004 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Lester was born on May 16, 1915 in Zwolle,  Louisiana.
Services were held Friday, Oct. 15 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Tim Hurd officiating. Visitation was held Thursday, Oct. 14 at 5 p.m. at Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Zwolle, LA. with burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery in Zwolle, LA.
Mr. Neil was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Riley Britt and granddaughter Selita Gober.
Survivors include his wife Oma D. Parrie Neil of Colmesneil; sister Eloise Ledford of Zwolle, LA.; grandchildren, D’Ann Britt and Johnny Kelemen of Jasper, Calvin Hanes of Nacogdoches and grandson-in-law Carl “Bo” Gober of Warren; great grandchildren, Dustin Gober , Matthew Gober and Samantha Hanes Gober all of Warren; and a host of friends.
Services were under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Zwolle, LA.

Verna Lou Allison
October 18, 2004
Verna Lou Allison, 85, of Beaumont, formerly of Warren, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2004 in Beaumont,  Texas.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, October 9th at 1:00 p.m. in the Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with burial in Williams Cemetery near Warren. Officiating was Brother James Boykin. Serving as Pallbearers were her nephews, Arnold Proellochs, Randy Baisdon, Dwayne Poe, James K. Williams, Clifton Ray Poe and Eric Proellochs.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 10th from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Verna Lou was born April 3, 1919 to Emmitt & Ola Gardner Nolen in Hicksbaugh ( Tyler County),  Texas. She was a loving, devoted mother and wife for many years.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret Louise Allison, whom she was a devoted mother of 29 years and her loving husband, J.W. ‘Othar’ Allison. She is survived by her brother, Emmitt Earl Nolen of Woodville; sisters & brothers-in-law, Miladeen & James Baisdon, Ola Vee & Arnold Proellochs and Alice Fay Poe all of Beaumont and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 105 N. Pecan, Woodville,  Texas 75979.
Services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.

Anita  Whitehead Triggs
Anita  Whitehead Triggs, 75, of Orange, died Tuesday October 5, 2004 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont after an illness.
A Memorial Service was held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2004, at North Orange Baptist Church in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Lynn Ashcraft, Pastor of North Orange Baptist Church, and Reverend Terry Brown, Associate Pastor, of First United Methodist Church in Orange.
A private graveside service and burial was held Saturday at  Whitehead cemetery in Chester,  Texas. Visitation was held at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Mrs. Triggs was born on October 14, 1928 in Mt. Pleasant,  Texas where she graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. She also attended North  Texas State University and Sam Houston State University where she majored in Library Science.
She is survived by her husband, William Decatur Triggs, Sr. Of Orange.
She was preceded in death by husband, Robert Nathan  Whitehead, Jr., and her brothers, Howard Leftwich and John Ball Leftwich.
She is also survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Donna  Whitehead of Addison, TX. John and Candy  Whitehead of Conroe; daughter, Nanci  Whitehead of Tallahassee, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Bill Koon of Gautler, MS; step son, William Decatur Triggs, Jr. and his wife, Phyllis of Crowley, LA; her brother, James Riley Leftwich and his wife, Lou of Farmers Branch, TX; grandchildren, Maxey and Lauren  Whitehead of Addison, TX, Jordan  Whitehead of Tyler, TX, Webster and Jake  Whitehead of Conroe, TX, Heather Carter of Port Arthur, TX, Grant and Meagan Koon of Gautler, MS, Nick Triggs of Baltimore, MD, Tonya Triggs of Ville Platte, LA and three great grandchildren.
Mrs. Triggs worked at the Orange Public Library for 15 years. She was the „Overdue‰ Lady at the front desk and later became Supervisor of Circulation prior to her retirement. She loved the library and was an avid reader.
Mrs. Triggs recently received recognition for her 50-year membership with North Orange Baptist Church where she enjoyed spending time with her many devoted friends within the church and in her Sunday School Class. She also enjoyed playing Bridge and China painting.
Above all else, she was the best mother in the world and taught her children to always be kind to others and to give of themselves.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Orange Public Library, P.O. Box 520, Orange, TX 77631.

Nelda Widner Lambert
October 18, 2004
Nelda Widner Lambert, 63, of Jasper County, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2004.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, October 12, at 12 noon in Barge Cemetery near Zavalla under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.
Visitation was held Monday, October 11th from 5-9 at the funeral home.
Nelda was born January 12, 1941 to Jess & Sarah Elizabeth  Jones Widner in Jasper County,  Texas. She was a member of  Johnson Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her mother, Sarah Widner of Jasper County; daughters & sons-in-law, Karen & Leon Herrington and Jana & James Andrews all of Warren; brother & sister-in-law, Bobby & Debbie Widner of Angelina County; sister & brother-in-law, Janice & Pervis Brown of Jasper County; grandchildren, James Everette Andrews, Heather Rachelle Cravy; and great grandchild, Layne Earl Cravy.
Services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.

Patricia Louise Craine Davis
October 18, 2004
Patricia Louise Craine Davis, 46, of Woodville passed away October 6, 2004 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont,  Texas.
Born September 29, 1958 in Blythville, Arkansas to Dwayne C. and Louise Towles Craine, She lived in Houston before moving to Woodville fifteen years ago. She was a Homemaker.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Dwayne Davis of Woodville; Parents, Dwayne and Louis Craine of Woodville; brother, Timothy Earl Craine of Woodville; sister, Judy Paulette Holmes and husband, Joe of Spring; nieces, Tracey Lynn Kerr of Japan and Kelly Michell Ki of Florida; nephew, P.J. Holmes of  Texas City; great niece, Taeya Marie Holmes of  Texas City; Numerous cousins.
A Graveside Service was held Saturday, October 9, 2004, at 1 PM at the Shady Grove Cemetery near Woodville. Visitation was held Saturday from 10 AM until 12 Noon at Riley Funeral Home.
Services are entrusted to Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.

Exa Farmer
October 18, 2004
Funeral Services for Exa Farmer, 80, of Silsbee was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 7, 2004 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment at R.S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery also in Silsbee.
Mrs. Farmer died Tuesday, October 6, 2004, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Exa was a co-owner of Farmer Funeral Home and a faithful worker at the Christian Care Center in Silsbee. She was a longtime member of the Silsbee Woman‚s Club and the First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Farmer was a native of Port Arthur but had lived most of her life in Silsbee.
Survivors include husband, Pete Farmer of Silsbee; son, Robert „ Roddy‰ Farmer and wife Rosie of Silsbee; daughter, Lisa Hunt and husband Dale of Longview; sister, Carolyn Donalson of Silsbee; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be S.A. „Foots‰ Wallace, Harold Gardner, Joe Hignett, Arthur DeLaune, Robert Neyland and Allen Freeman.
Contributions may be made to the Christian Care Center, P.O. Box 2050, Silsbee,  Texas 77656.

Peggy Rhea Steely
October 18, 2004
Peggy Rhea Steely, 76, of Woodville, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2004 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont,  Texas.
Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home with memorial services to be announced at a later time.
Peggy was born April 25, 1928 to Coy & Ethel Lawson Whitaker in Luling,  Texas. She was a graduate of South Park High School. She had worked for Bankers Savings & Loan in Galveston and Beaumont Savings & Loan prior to moving to Woodville in 1981. Peggy worked as secretary and office manager for A&M Motor Company in Woodville for over ten years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Eugene Whitaker. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, James C. Steely of Woodville; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis R. & Pamela Steely of LaMarque; daughter, Donna Kay Cradier of Columbus; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Whitaker and sister, Audrey Dale Sirman both of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Kevin Don Steely, Stephen Christopher Phillips and Clifford Cradier; and great granddaughter, Cassie Phillips.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 105 N. Pecan, Woodville,  Texas 75979.
Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Woodville.

William Whitten
October 18, 2004
William Whitten, 82, of Houston Passed away October 8, 2004 in Houston, TX.
Mr. Whitten was born November 3, 1921 in Idabel,  Oklahoma. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in World War II. He was a 32nd degree mason for fifty years with the Magnolia Lodge in Woodville,  Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul C. and Lucy Derryberry Whitten, first wife, Jean Whitten, daughter, Susan Whitten, son, Roger Barrett and brother, Paul Whitten.
Mr. Whitten is survived by his wife, Ann Lewis Whitten; daughters and son-in-law, Joyce Phillips, Brenda and James Hagan, and Patricia Mann; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Denise Whitten and William and Brenda Whitten; grandchildren, Lloyd and David Hagan, Allison Hagan, Chad and Roxane Whitten, John Phillips, IV, Brandon Whitten, Bethany Whitten, Kristi Mann, Michelle Wilson, Lance and John Barrett; great grandchildren, Brooke Hagan, Joshua, Jacob, and Joey Wilson, Ford and Chandler Barrett.
Funeral Service was held Monday, October 11, 2004, at 10 a.m. at the Klein Funeral Home Chapel in Tomball, TX with Rev. Mark Neumann Officiating. A graveside service was held at the cemetery with a Masonic Graveside service following.
Serving as pallbearers were James Hagan, Lloyd and David Hagan, Ron Pickle, John Bowen and Rusty Mertink.
Local arrangements were entrusted to Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.
