Harris
Funeral services for Helen Mozelle Harris, 75, of Lufkin, formerly of Livingston, were held Tuesday, October 7, 2003, from Family Funeral Care Chapel, with Bro. Jim Maddox officiating. Interment followed in Tebo Cemetery in San Augustine County.
Mrs. Harris was born March 22, 1928 in Perrine, Florida, the daughter of the late Bettie Lou Smith Lott and Walter Rufus Lott.
She died Saturday, October 4, in Lufkin. Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Edwin Lott; and her grandson, James Jacob 'Jimmy' Stampfli.
A resident for Lufkin since 1970, Mrs. Harris was a member of Living Water Church in Wells and worked as a sitter and care-giver for numerous individuals.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Walter Harris of Zavalla and Jack and Cynthia Harris of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Burch of Lufkin, Pat Bryan of Cleveland, Joyce and John Van Scoy of Hudson and Tom and Bob Stampfli of Crosby; brother, Walter a. Lott of Smyrna, Georgia; 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Metzger
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2003, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel for James Michael Metzger, 59, of Livingston, with the Rev. Woody Alexander officiating.
He was born January 27, 1944 in Evansville, Indiana, the son of James J. and Caddie Metzger, both of whom preceded him in death. Mr. Metzger died Saturday, October 4, in Pasadena.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Diana and Gary Reno of Pasadena and Shannon and Brad Ser of Clermont, Florida; son, Roger Smith of Houston; and grandchildren, Ashley Cheatham, Aaron Cheatham and Adam Cheatham.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Pavlock
Funeral services for Melba Pavlock, 92, of Livingston, were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 9, 2003, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Royce Pennington and Don Wilkey officiating. Burial followed in Center Grove Cemetery.
She was born October 5, 1911 in Polk County, the daughter of Burl H. and Minnie Ola Simpson Parker.
Mrs. Pavlock died Monday, October 6, in Livingston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Pavlock and her parents.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patsy M. and Everet Russell of Livingston; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Louis and Gloria Pavlock of Friendswood; brother and sister-in-law, Marlin and LaVerl Parker of Crosby; niece and husband, Joyce and Joe Callaghan of Austin; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Robert "Bobby" Pavlock Jr., Michael Pavlock, Logan Pennington, Dokata Hancock, Louis DeVries and Allan Wynn.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Rauber
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 8, 2003, at the First United Methodist Church of Onalaska, for John Rauber Jr., 83, of Onalaska, with the Revs. Chuck Bratz and Dell Snell officiating. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska. military honors were provided by the VFW Post 8568 Honor Guard.
He was born in Austin on July 28, 1920. He attended Austin High School and received a business degree from the University of  Texas. Mr. Rauber served his country in World War II as a member of the 5th Airborne Division. A long time resident of Shreveport,  Louisiana, he moved to Houston in 1966 where he was employed by Zapata Offshore until his retirement in 1984. Upon retiring to Onalaska, he devoted his services to AARP, VFW Post 1103 and volunteered countless hours with Hospice and the comfort of family and friends. He was known as a devoted Christian and loving father and grandfather.
Mr. Raubert died on Saturday, October 4, 2003. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Rauber; his father, Hugo John Rauber Sr.; his mother, Annie Howard Rauber; and brother, Vincent.
Survivors include his daughter, Diane Rauber Harlan of Houston; son, Mark Rauber of Onalaska; sister, Kay Rauber Helgason; grandchildren, Ashley Todd and Sara Harlan; and niece, Disa Helgason.
Pallbearers were George Daey, Paul Gosnell, Dean Blan, Bob Johnson, John Rozell and James Baker. Honorary pallbearers were Rob Harrison, Earl Carroll, Kenny Roach, Bill Taylor, LeRoy Zemer, Gene Sledge, Tommy Foster, Dale Hamacker, Floyd Schoonover, Jack Caddel, Leo Fisher, Willie Hearndon and John Rauber's Bible Study Class.
Cochran Funeral Home, Onalaska, was in charge of arrangements.

Schultz
Graveside services for Raven Jade Dillon-Schultz, were held Monday, October 6, 2003, at Creel Cemetery in Livingston.
She was born October 2, 2003 in Cleveland, the daughter of Shannon Dillon and Amber Schultz, and died the same day in Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her father, Shannon Dillon; mother, Amber Schultz; brother, Sidney Dillon of Oakhurst; sister, Rachel Dillon of Oakhurst; grandmother, Corbie Sue Schultz of Livingston; grandparents, Milton and Brenda Schultz of Bacliff; grandmother, Patricia Dillon of Big Sandy; grandfather, George Dillon of Big Sandy; aunts, Brandi Schupska of Livingston, Shelia Smith of Vidor and Angela Wise of Big Sandy; uncles, Milton Schultz III of Livingston, Robert Dillon, Daniel Dillon, David Dillon and Patrick Dillon, all of Big Sandy; and 10 cousins.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Victery
Funeral services for Joseph H. Victery Jr., 92, of New Willard, at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, in Livingston, with the Rev. Frank Hood conducting the services. Burial followed in Restland Memorial Park.
He was born on December 22, 1910 in Keltys, the son of Joseph and Nettie Cannon Victery Sr. He and his family arrived in New Willard on November 11, 1917. He remembered well getting off of the train and watching the crowd gather as their household belongings, including their milk cow, were unloaded from the box car. Except for a brief stay in Orange working in the shipyard during World War II, Mr. Victery made his home in New Willard for 86 years. He graduated from Livingston High School in 1930. He married Margaret Grisham on December 25, 1937 and they had been married for 63 years at the time of her death in May 2001. Mr. Victery served on the New Willard School Board and spent many years on the New Willard Homecoming Committee. As a member of Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church in New Willard, he served faithfully as an elder and treasurer, and later served as an elder of First Presbyterian Church in Livingston. He was affectionately known as Mr. Joe by friends and co-workers and spent his career doing what he loved - fixing things. He was an electrician who worked as the repairman for Glover's Hardware and later as maintenance man for Polk County Hospital and Leggett Lumber Company.
Mr. Victery died on Monday, October 6, 2003, in Memorial Medical Center - Livingston.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Ann Victery of Ninnekah,  Oklahoma; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Gary Gray of Pasadena; grandchildren, Brian Gray of Pasadena, Dr. Jennifer Gray of Decatur, Georgia, Joe Victery and wife, Kourtney, of Ninnekah,  Oklahoma and LeeAnn Victery of Norman,  Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Hillarie, Jessica and Zachary Gray of Pasadena and Emma Victery of Ninnekah,  Oklahoma; sister, Laura Abercrombie of Lumberton; sister-in-law, Agnes Alexander of Conroe; and special friend, Sadie Gunn of Livingston.
Pallbearers were Brian Gray, Zachary Gray, Joe Victery, Bobby Victery, Marty Joe Abercrombie, Bobby Neil and Arnie Alexander. Honorary pallbearers were Benny Glover, Al Becker and Raymond Stuckey.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Bates
Graveside services were held Wednesday, October 1, 2003, at Bold Springs Cemetery for Ricky Dean Bates, 41, of Livingston, with the Rev. Fred Alford officiating.
He was born on April 11, 1962 in Orlando, Florida, the son of Clifford Columbus Bates and Alma Stovall Bates.
Mr. Bates died Sunday, September 28, 2003, in Memorial Medical Center - Livingston. He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his mother, Alma Kamp of Livingston; girlfriend, Kathy Price of Livingston; brothers, Johnny Bruce Bates and Clifford David Bates, both of Livingston and Jimmy Wayne Dorris of Williams, Arizona; sisters, Alma Jean McKee of Kingwood, Carolyn Jean Colvin of Las Vegas, Nevada and Donna Lorraine Arnold of Magnolia; sons, Austin Prescott Bates of Dallas and Dean Allen Bates of Georgia; grandmother, Nina Odessa  Johnson of Livingston; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Blankenship
Funeral services for Vernon Blankenship, 59, of Ace, were held Saturday, October 4, 2003, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. C.T.  Jones officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Center.
He was born November 30, 1943 in Enterprise, Kentucky, the son of Charles Matt Blankenship and Laura Rice Blankenship. He was a member of the First Baptist Church - Wild Country in Ace.
Mr. Blankenship died Wednesday, October 1, 2003 in Liberty County. He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Blankenship of Ace; sons, Michael Blankenship of Ace, Brian Blankenship of Soldier, Kentucky, Vince Blankenship of Viciailla, California, Terry Blankenship of Columbus, Ohio, Kevin Blankenship of Tulare, California and Jerry Rivers of  Washington, D.C.; daughters, Stephanie Clements of Freeport, Dorothy Goodan of Soldier, Kentucky, Margaret Blankenship of Fresno, California and Darla Boone of West Columbia; mother, Laura Bago of Soldier, Kentucky; brothers, Bill Blankenship of Ashland, Kentucky, Kenneth Blankenship of Sandy Hook, Kentucky and Ted Blankenship of Soldier, Kentucky; sister, Donna Owens of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and 10 grandchildren.

Griffing
Funeral services for Mary Ellen Griffing, 93, were held Tuesday, October 7, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Coldspring, with Mr. Windle Kee officiating. Graveside services followed at 12:30 p.m., at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery, Houston,  Texas, with Chaplain Bob Dunegan officiating graveside service.
She was born October 7, 1909 in Thurber,  Texas and passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2003.
Survivors include her foster daughter, Dorothy Bills; grandchildren, Mary Carla McGraw and Carl B. Griffing Jr.; great-grandchildren, William Lee McGraw, Michael Carey McGraw and Hendrix Ian Stembridge.
Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, was in charge of arrangements.

Holden
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 4, 2003, for Lloyd Holden, 72, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Frank Hood officiating. Burial followed in the Peebles Cemetery. military honors were conducted by the VFW Post 8568 Honor Guard.
He was born May 30, 1931 in Millerton,  Oklahoma, the son of Calvin  Whitefield Holden and Gussie Mae Vidler Holden. He married Margaret Mills Holden on March 29, 1951 in Livingston. Mr. Holden was a member of the First Baptist Church in Livingston. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Holden died Thursday, October 2, in Conroe Regional Medical Hospital in Conroe. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Holden of Livingston; sons, Jimmy Holden of McAllister,  Oklahoma, Michael Holden of Livingston and Charles and wife, B.J. Holden, of Seven Oaks; daughters, Lynn Hilton of Cleveland, Jeannette and husband, Calvin Hogg, of San Antonio and Tracy and husband, Stuart Standley, of Conroe; 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ina Belle Baxter of Lufkin and Ruth  Jackson of New Caney; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Tony Proctor, Ben Nettles, Earl Alexander, Troy Newman, David Bowen and Joe  LeBlanc. Honorary pallbearers were the VFW Post 8568 Honor Guard.

Lawrence
A memorial service for Peggy Lawrence, 62, was held Sunday, October 5, 2003, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska, with the Rev. Don Wilson officiating.
She was born July 14, 1941 in Harlan, Iowa, the daughter of Edgar and Helen Houts Richards. She married Leslie Lawrence on February 11, 1969 in Clinton, Iowa.
Mrs. Lawrence died Saturday, September 27, in Methodist Hospital in Houston. She was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include her husband, Leslie Lawrence of Onalaska; mother, Helen Richards of Livingston; daughters, Kathryn Romero, Dorinda Martinez and Tonya Rojas, all of Gresham, Oregon, Wendy Avalos of Boring, Oregon, Judy Boyken of Shearbury, Minnesota, Connie Lawrence of Simsonville,  South Carolina and Barbara Lawrence of  Texas; sons, Monte Sievertsen of Gresham, Oregonn and Richard Lawrence of Portland, Oregon; 28 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Lee Richards of Denver, Colorado; one niece; two nephews and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lawson
Funeral services for Jimmy Lawson, 42, were held Tuesday, September 30, 2003, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Chris Borden and Wayne Landrum officiating. Mae Coats presented the eulogy. Burial followed in Bluewater Cemetery in Polk County.
He was born August 21, 1961 in Houston, the son of T.G. and Annetta Jo Ennis Lawson. He married Kristal Lawson on November 4, 1997 in Livingston.
Mr. Lawson died Friday, September 26, at his residence in Goodrich. He was preceded in death by his mother, Annetta Jo Ennis Cain; maternal grandmother, G.T. Ennis; and paternal grandmother, Inez Flowers.
Survivors include his wife, Kristal Lawson of Goodrich; daughter, Jolynn Lawrence of Goodrich; son, T.J. Lawson of Rye; daughter, Lindsay Hauge of Livingston; granddaughter, Andrea Braden Tall of Shepherd; father and step-mother, T.G. and Bettye Lawson of Livingston;; brother, Jerry Dion Lawson of Shepherd; sister, Jana Kimberling of Shepherd; brother, Jon Cain of Rye; grandmother, Iris Ennis of Shepherd; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers were Jerry Dion Lawson, Wayne Bland, Steve Willingham, Danny Hutchison, John Weaver and Jesse Emerson.
