Hanson
Graveside services for George Bartley Hanson, 73, were held Wednesday, September 10, 2003, from Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska, with Chaplain Horace Fletcher officiating.
He was born June 25, 1930 in Houston, the son of Lloyd B. and Mertie E. Kegler Hanson, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Suzanne Lewis Hanson in Houston on July 7, 1950. He received his BS degree from University of Houston and was a hospital administrator from 1969 to 1982 in Winnie, Alvin and Nederland.
Mr. Hanson died Sunday, September 7, at his residence in Onalaska.
Survivors include his wife, Suzanne Hanson of Onalaska; daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda Ann and Steven Brown of Onalaska and Georgia Lynn and James Hoffpauir of Russellville, Arkansas; grandsons, Rama Hoffpauir of New York City, New York, Sarah Nolen of Austin and Lauren Nolen of Onalaska; and great-granddaughter, Sydney Nolen of Liverpool.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 116 S. Raguel, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

Johnson
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 10, 2003 for David Wayne Johnson, 45, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Gene Shinn and C.E. Lott officiating. Burial followed in West Tempe Cemetery in Livingston.
He was born June 14, 1958 in Houston, the son of Leroy and Dorothy Lindley Johnson Sr. He was a member of Charity Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Livingston.
Mr. Johnson died Friday, September 5, 2003, at his residence in Onalaska.
Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Yarbrough of Onalaska; father, Leroy Johnson Sr. of Houston; step-mother, June Johnson of Houston; brothers and sisters-in-law, Leroy Johnson Jr. of Cut-N-Shoot, Charlie and Sharon Johnson and Russell and Shannon Yarbrough, all of Onalaska and Sharon Yarbrough of Willis; daughters, Amanda Johnson and Michelle Johnson, both of New Caney; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Shawn Yarbrough, Charles Johnson Jr., Jeremy Lindley, Jesse Lindley Jr., Marshall Lindley, Leroy Johnson III, Travis Lindley, Clayton Yarbrough Jr., James Yarbrough and Cole Johnson.

Nettles
Funeral services for Glenn Roy Nettles, 59, of Livingston, were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 11, 2003, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Lee Poe officiating. Burial followed in Peebles Cemetery.
He was born August 22, 1944 in Livingston, the son of John "Jack" C. Nettles and Katie Maze Nettles. He married Cathy Cox Nettles on January 17, 1981 in Livingston. Mr. Nettles served I the U.S. Army.
He passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2003 in Memorial Medical Center - Livingston. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jewel Nettles.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy Nettles of Livingston; daughter, Shandi Nettles of Livingston; son, Weston Nettles of Nacogdoches; brothers and sisters-in-law, James Alvis and Mary Nettles, Wilson and Olean Nettles, Jack and Rita Nettles and Elmer and Hilda Nettles, all of Livingston, Aubrey and Novie Nettles of Goodrich, Kenneth and Frances Nettles of Baytown and Floyd Lee and Marjorie Nettles of Deer Park; sisters and brothers-in-law, Faye and Bob Hamilton of Spring, Dette and Lee Courtney of Chicago, Illinois and Bettie and Pablo Paredes of Livingston; and numerous nieces, and nephews and close friends.
Pallbearers were Bubba Rowe, Paul Harrell, Ken Manning, Darrell Longino, Dale Harris, Johnny Sitton and John Whitworth. Honorary pallbearers were Roy McPike, John Owens, Chad Owens, Perry Tanner, Lowell Crew and classmates of the Livingston High School Class of 1962.

Rayon
Funeral services were held Monday, September 8, 2003 from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, for George Rayon, 81, with the Rev. Victor L. Winkelman officiating. Burial followed in Spring Ridge Cemetery in San Augustine.
He was born January 30, 1922 in China, Texas, the son of C.T. and Ezola Meache Rayon, both of whom preceded him in death. Mr. Rayon served in the U.S. Army and the Merchant Marines during World War II.
Mr. Rayon died Friday, September 5, 2003 in Timberwood Nursing Home in Livingston.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Rayon; sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Lynn Rayon of Humble and Eric and April Rayon of Mesquite; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Ann and Mike Cosgrove of Devers; brothers and sister-in-law, Henry and Betty Rayon of Highlands and William Rayon of Devers; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Scott
Funeral services for Kevin Michael Scott, age 2 days, of Arlington, were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2003, from Camp Ruby Cemetery, with the Rev. Mitchell Murphy officiating.
He was born September 6, 2003 in Irving, the son of Michael and Crystal Johnson Scott. Kevin died on Monday, September 8, 2003, in Baylor Irving Hospital in irving.
Survivors include his parents, Michael and Crystal Scott of Arlington; brother, Matthew Scott of Arlington; grandparents, O.J. and Christine Johnson and Luther and Jean Lafferty, all of Livingston; grandfather, James Bubba Myers of Goodrich; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Keith Lafferty, Eric Lafferty, Russell Johnson and J.D. Johnson.

Tulllos
Funeral services for Jesse Wyatt Tullos Jr., 79, of Livingston, were conducted Saturday, September 13, 2003, at Cochran Funeral Home. Interment followed in Peebles Cemetery.
A lifelong resident of Polk County, he was born October 15, 1923 in New Willard, the son of Sadie Lowe Tullos and Jesse W. Tullos Sr. He graduated from Livingston High School and attended business school. His career included many years as a bookkeeper at Haynes Manufacturing Company and later as a field account assistant for Tennessee Gas. After retirement he farmed in the Mount Rose community. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific. He enjoyed woodworking and being outdoors on a John Deere Tractor.
Mr. Tullos died Wednesday, September 10, 2003 in Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Lavyelle Morris Tullos, whom he married on May 22, 1948.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Tanya Tullos and Lee Appleberry; two grandsons, Taylor Appleberry and Andrew Appleberry, all of San Angelo and Houston; sister and brother-in-law, Oleta and John Williamson; a niece, a nephew, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Lavyelle Morris Tullos and Jesse Tullos Jr. scholarship at Stephen F. Austin State University Alumni Association, P.O. Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 10, 2003 for Bessie Lee White, 87, of Livingston, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with Ed Smith officiating. Burial followed in Peebles Cemetery.
She was born August 29, 1916 in Burke, the daughter of Thomas Wayne Ivy and Nora Essie May Ivy. She moved to Blanchard at the age of 10. She was a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ in Livingston.
Mrs. White died Monday, September 8, 2003, in Livingston. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Tally Ivy.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and Horace Duff of Livingston and Betty and Onnie Lee "Pee Wee" Puckett of Baytown; sister, Fay Moore of Livingston; sisters and brothers-in-law, Etta and Ed Smith, Rebecca and Cecil Bobo, all of Livingston, Evelyn and Melton Durant of Jacksonville; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Myrtie Townley of Livingston; grandchildren, Lamar Duff of Livingston, Jeff Puckett and wife, Suzanne, of Durham, North Carolina, Jan Puckett of Baytown and Danny Duff and wife, Lynn, of Hamshire; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Ray White, Terry White, Mark Townley, Steve Smith, Tommy Ivy, Buck Durant, Bruce Durant and Bill Townley. Honorary pallbearers were Howard Hilton and Jack Townley.

Brown
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2003, for Sylvia Handley Brown, 82, in Blanchard St. Denis Chapel, with the Revs. Doug Cain and Hyland Packard officiating. Graveside services were held at 3:00 p.m., in Feagan Cemetery in Livingston.
A native of Livingston, she was a retired educator for Natchitoches Parish School System. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Texas Revolution, Natchitoches Eastern Star Chapter No. 13 and Circle Group of the First united Methodist Church.
Mrs. Brown died Tuesday, September 2 in Natchitoches Parish Hospital in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her first husband, J.N. "Bo" Brown; parents, Jesse and Ada Rice Handley; and 13 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Bruce D. Champion of Natchitoches, Louisiana; son, B.J. Brown of Nashville, Tennessee; cousins, Bill and Betty Kennedy of Natchitoches, Louisiana and Kenneth Kennedy of Austin; five grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Livingston arrangements were handled by Cochran Funeral Home.
Crabtree
Joseph Richard "J.R." Crabtree, 68, of Rye, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2003, at his residence. No services are announced at this time.
Mr. Crabtree was born on September 7, 1934 in Ponca City, Oklahoma, the son of Joseph Luther and Beryl Shields Crabtree. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy and was a retired welder for Dow Chemical Company. He married Rose Willis in 1959 in Ponca City. He had been a resident of the Rye area for 33 years.
A sister, Lois Maxine Crabtree, and a brother, Charles Crabtree, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Rose, of Rye; two sons, Gary Crabtree of Dayton and Rickey Crabtree of Rye; two daughters, Kimberly Crabtree of Rye and Valerie Coats and husband, Jack, of Cleveland.

Neuwirth
Graveside services for Royal Roger Neuwirth, 74, were held Friday, September 5, 2003, from Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska, with the Rev. Charles Bratz officiating. military honors were provided by the VFW Post 8568 Honor Guard.
He was born July 23, 1929 in Mountain View, Oklahoma, the son of Robert and Ethel Pertle Neuwirth. He retired after 20 years in the U.S. Army, having been awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct medal and having serving during the Korean Conflict. He later retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Onalaska.
Mr. Neuwirth died Tuesday, September 2 in Kindred Hospital in Houston.
Survivors include his sons, Richard Neuwirth of Onalaska and Robert D. Neuwirth II of Center; brother, Leon Neuwirth of Kansas City, Missouri; sister, Idella Hampton of Amarillo; grandchildren, Robert D. Neuwirth III, Brian Keith Neuwirth, Pamela Jean Mills, Amy C. Anderson, Todd Parker Neuwirth, Kathleen Karla Neuwirth, Mandy Elaine Neuwirth and Richard Keith Neuwirth Jr. and eight great-grandchildren.

Parrish
Funeral services were held Friday, September 5, 2003, from Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church for Bunyan Orvel Parrish, 82, of Corrigan, with the Revs. Frank Hood and James Brock officiating. Interment followed in Union Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Parrish was born October 26, 1920 in Hortense. He was a graduate of Corrigan High School and a member of Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church. He was a World War II veteran in the European and North Africa theatres. He worked in the pulp wood business for many years and retired as an employee of Polk County.
Mr. Parrish died Monday, September 1, 2003 at his residence. He was preceded in death by two stepsons, Arthur R. and Dewey Clyde Eaton; great-granddaughter, Tamara L. Eaton; great-grandson, Terry Eaton; parents, Bunyan B. and Nancy Parrish; and brothers, Hobson and Quentin Parrish.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Parrish of Corrigan; daughters-in-law, Lou Eaton of Corrigan and Elaine Eaton of Spring; four grandsons and their wives, Arthur R. and Linda Eaton, and Scotty and Jeanie Eaton, all of Corrigan and Tommy Eaton of Segno; eight great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Latayne Parrish and Marlin "Cotton" and Betty Parrish; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Flora "Sis" Crawford, of Beaumont, Addie Mae and Gail Hill of Cleveland, Dortha Lee and Kenneth Jones of Leggett and Gena Vee and Kenneth Hestand of Fort Worth.
