Forrester
;Graveside services were held Thursday, October 30, 2003, at Sand Flat Cemetery, in Redtown, for Fannie Ruth 'Nini' Forrester, 84, with Bro. David Busby officiating. Burial followed.
She was born on December 12, 1918 in San Augustine County, the daughter rof Robert  Jones Stanley and Dora Mae Hillyer Stanley. She died on Tuesday, October 28, 2003, at her residence in Livingston. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy Lee Forrester; grandson, Thomas Ray Redd; five sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Redd of Livingston; four grandchildren, Raymond Redd of Apple Springs, Marion Roy Redd of Pollok, Lewis Wayne Redd of Wells and John H. Redd of Livingston; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Nell Busby and Ruby Porter of Livingston; brother, R.D. Stanley of Cleveland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearer was John H. Redd.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Hulen
Funeral services for Evah Lucille Hulen, 87, of Pasadena, formerly of Wild Country, were held Saturday, October 25, 2003, in the chapel of South Park Funeral Home with Bro. Harry McDaniel of Devers officiating. Interment followed in South Park Cemetery.
She was born in Hugo,  Oklahoma, the daughter of James D. and Samantha Griffis and died on Thursday, October 23, 2003. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace E. 'Buddy" Hulen; and her sisters and brothers, Charles, Ora, Weldon, Bertha, Rubye, Vera and Lloyd.
Mrs. Hulen was a beautician in her younger days in Hugo,  Oklahoma and retired from Pasadena ISD as a cafeteria worker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Wild Country, but recently was attending Watters Road Church of Christ in Pasadena. She was known as a special lady with always a smile and a joke. She was a great painter and kept the grandchildren supplied with her hand-painted T-shirts.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Robison and husband, Lee, of Pasadena; sons, Eddy and wife, Linda, of Rosharon and Donny and wife, Barbara, of Pasadena; grandchildren, Cristy Matthews and children, Eric and Danielle; Mike and Janet Hulen and children, Abigail, Jessica and Dale; Regina  Johnson and husband, Roy Martinez and daughter Brianna; Heath Hulen and wife, Michelle, and daughter, Tiffany Miracle; Becky Ball and husband, Rick, and children, Brandon, Samantha and Bryan; Amy Rangel and husband, Ralph, and children, Asha and Johnathan; and Karen Alldredge and husband, Bud, and children, Colby, Dean and Chase; sisters-in-law, Ora Mae Kleinworth and Novelyn Hulen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Like
N. Frances Like, 90, of the Forest Springs area near Livingston, died Tuesday, October 28, 2003, at her residence after 10 years of illness with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). Services and entombment were held on Saturday, November 1, 2003, in Mesa, Arizona.
She was born on March 7, 1913 in Hiawatha, Kansas, and graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1932. She enjoyed oil painting, fishing, playing bridge and golf. She attended First Baptist Church and while in Mesa, Arizona, was a member of the Mesa Community Church. While in Livingston, she was totally disabled and was served by the chaplain of Hospice in the Pines.
Her beloved husband, Lowell c. Like; a sister, Rosemary Peasall; a brother, Bob Dannenberg; and parents, Irvin and Mary Dannenberg, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Like and Carol Kay Kimlley, both of Livingston; a son, James L. Like and wife, Kim, of Eugene, Oregon; grandchildren, Donald D. Olson of Davenport,  Washington, Elizabeth Like and Bryan Like of Eugene, Oregon, Larry Like and wife, Kari, of Parker, Colorado, and Gary Like and wife, Jody, of Santa Rosa, California; and three great-grandchildren, Dylan Like, Lindsey Like and Hannah Like.
Pace Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of local arrangements.

Miller
Funeral services for Clarence Daniel Miller, 92, were held Tuesday, October 28, 2003, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Chris Borden officiating. Burial followed in Palms Memorial Park in Dayton.
He was born November 3, 1910 in Winder, Georgia, the son of Edward Pendleton Miller and Cammie Alzada Morris Miller, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Eloise Smith Miller on January 16, 1954 in New Orleans,  Louisiana. Mr. Miller was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Livingston.
Mr. Miller died Saturday, October 25, at his residence in Livingston.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Eloise Smith Miller of Livingston; son and daughter-in-law, Pete and Joyce Miller of New Orleans,  Louisiana; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Donald Pritchett of New Orleans,  Louisiana, Vashti and David Shores of Leggett, Lora Colbert of Livingston and Fern and Jerry Simmons of Nacogdoches; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews of Atlanta, Georgia.
Pallbearers were Donnie Pritchatt, Rodney Pritchett, Heath Colbert, Jerry Simmons, David Shores, Joe Redmann and Rusty Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Peter Miller, Gabe Kitzmiller and Donald Pritchett.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Nelson
Charles Allen 'Chuck" Nelson died on Monday, October 27, 2003.
He was born on January 30, 1921 in Salem, New Jersey. He spent his childhood in South Jersey and at age 18, enlisted in the New Jersey National Guard. In 1942, when the National Guard was federalized, he was assigned to the Army Air Corp in Hondo,  Texas. He married his high school sweetheart, Jean, when he was home on leave, and she accompanied him back to Hondo.
In 1944, his son, Chuck, was born. When the war ended, he and his family moved to Bridgeton, New Jersey, where he was employed as an officer with the Bridgeton Police Department. He then went to work for Owens Illinois Glass Company. In 1957, Chuck and Jean's daughter, Robin, was born. Mr. Nelson retired from Owens Illinois Glass Company in 1985.
He was a member of the Shiloh New Jersey volunteer fire department and also served as constable. He was past commander of Shoemaker Post 95 of the American Legion, he was active in the Sons of the Union Veterans and participated in numerous Civil War re-enactments and rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel.
He was a 50-year member of the Evening Star Masonic Lodge No. 097 of New Jersey. Upon retirement, he and his wife sold their home and bought an RV and became full-time RV travelers. Shortly after going full-time they joined the Escapees family and made Rainbow's End their home base. They traveled until 1992, when they became permanent residents of Rainbow's End. They also celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary that year at Rainbow's End. His wife, Jean, died in 1994 and his traveling was curtailed to visits to his children in Colorado and Delaware.
Mr. Nelson spent this summer with his daughter, Robin, and family and attended his grandson's wedding and a family reunion in August 2003. He returned to Rainbow's End in September, where he was diagnosed with stage four cancer. The Nelsons loved their time with the Escapees family where they made many wonderful and lasting friendships.
In 2003, he transferred his Masonic Lodge membership to Trinity Lodge No. 14 in Livingston. He and his son were able to sit in the lodge together for the last time three weeks ago.
He is survived by his son, Chuck, and wife, Patty Nelson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his daughter, Robin and husband, Keith Collins, of New Castle, Delaware; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Ross
Graveside services for Ethel Lou Ross, 89, of Onalaska, were held Saturday, November 1, 2003, in Woodlawn Garden of Memories in Houston, with the Rev. Harold Isaacs officiating.
She was born July 11, 1914 in Avoyelles Parish,  Louisiana, the daughter of Jeff B. and Gertrude E. (Barron) Dunbar. Mrs. Ross died Wednesday, October 29, in Memorial Medical Center, Livingston. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, W. Dale Ross; great-granddaughter, Kelley Marschall and four brothers.
Survivors include her son, Bill Ross of Baytown; daughter, Dorothy F. Walters of Onalaska; granddaughters, Diana Wilkes and Renee and husband, Jonathan Marschall; grandsons, David Walter and Guy Ross; great-granddaughter, Julian Marschall; great-grandsons, David Walters Jr. and Daniel Walters; special friend, Barbara Brandenburgh; sisters, Dorothy Keller of North Carolina and Lou Dunbar of California; and brother and sister-in-law, Samuel and Patsy Dunbar of Pasadena.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Whittemore
A memorial service was held Monday, November 3, 2003, at the First Presbyterian Church in Livingston for Joel Truman Whittemore Jr., 70, of Livingston, with Dr. Belinda Windham officiating. Immediately following the memorial service, a reception was held at the Rainbow's End Car Center at the Escapee's Park in Livingston.
He was born on February 3, 1933 in Stoneham, Massachusetts, the son of Joel Truman Whittemore Sr. and Bertha Folsom Whittemore. He married Carolyn A. Gardner Whittemore on June 27, 1954 in Stoneham, Massachusetts. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1959. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts and worked as a flight engineer for Pan American Airlines for 22 years. He belonged to Habitat for Humanity, local and national dulcimer clubs, past Rotarian and was distinguished as a Paul Harris Fellow, member of the Escapees RV Club, and the First Presbyterian Church of Livingston.
Mr. Whittemore died on Wednesday, October 29, 2003 in Memorial Medical Center, Livingston. He was preceded in death by is parents.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn A. Whittemore of Livingston; son and daughter-in-law, Scott Whittemore and Elaine Whittemore of Miami, Florida and grandson, Warren; son and daughter-in-law, Joel Truman Whittemore III and Maria Whittemore of Abilene; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Whittemore Duea and Steven Duea of Millersville, Maryland and granddaughters, Amanda, Audra and Alexandra.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Collins
June Elizabeth Lively Collins died November 3, 2003 in Austin's Hospice Christopher House.
She was born June 2, 1931 in Irving. She is preceded in death by her mother, Laura Randolph Lively of Huntsville, Livingston and Alvin; her father, Roy S. Lively, original pioneer, formerly of Irving; grandson, Jim Collins of Alvin; and the Randolphs of Virginia and  Texas.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 55 years, Bob. T. Collins Jr. of Spicewood,  Texas; son, Jim Collins and wife, Nancy, of Alvin; son, Jeff Collins and grandson, Wesley, of Spicewood; granddaughter, Melissa; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Laura and husband, James Frazier, of Livingston.
A memorial service will be held at the Church of Nazarene in Alvin at a later date.
Friends are asked to consider a gift to the Escapees Care Center, 155 Care Center Drive, Livingston,  Texas 77351.

Davis
Graveside services for Betty Lou Davis, 69, of Cleveland, were held Tuesday, November 4, 2003, from Sterling  White Cemetery in Highlands, with Pastor Eddie Collins officiating.
She was born January 24, 1934 in Shepherd, the daughter of Elmo Bernard Carney and Nettie Faye Lewis Carney.
Mrs. Davis died Thursday, October 30, in Mesquite Community Hospital in Mesquite. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Patsy; and sons, Daryl Wayne Davis and Ronnie Earl Davis.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Davis of Cleveland; sons, Bill Davis of Utica, New York and Bobby Davis of Houston; daughter, Brenda Davis of Fostoria; brother, Billy Carney of Broken Bow,  Oklahoma; sister, Judith Messer of Sour Lake; and three grandchildren.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Ellis
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2003, for Alice Marie Harris Ellis, 42, of Cleveland, at Lake Station Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. M.M. Harp officiating. Burial followed in Lake Station Cemetery in Shepherd.
She was born June 5, 1961 in Shreveport,  Louisiana, the daughter of Haywood Harris and Emma Robinson. Mrs. Ellis died on October 29, 200 in Houston.
Survivors include her husband, Mitchell Ellis of Cleveland; mother, Emma Ford of Cleveland; sisters, Ollie Punch of Shepherd, Jennie V. Petit of Little Rock, Arkansas, Janie P. Pollard and husband, Dwayne, of Dallas, Olean Bush and husband, Cal, of Rye, and Rosemary Randall and husband, Michael, of Dallas; brothers, Rodney Harris and wife, Sandra, of Shreveport,  Louisiana, Lloyd Harris and wife, Linda, of Houston, Johnny Harris and wife, Shirley, of Dallas and Hayes Harris and wife, Valerie, of Shreveport,  Louisiana; step-sisters, Shirley Lewis and husband, Emmett, Dianne Robinson and husband, Charles, and Kathleen Jones; step-brothers, Haywood Harris Jr., Lee Arther, Michael Wilson, Gill Wilson and Keith Atkins; sister-in-law, Theresa Harris of Houston; aunts, Mary L. Goffrey, Sallie M. Hall and Florence Lakey, all of Shreveport,  Louisiana; uncle, Lee Author Harris of Chicago, Illinois; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Olando Harris, Lloyd Harris, Clifton Jones, Johnny Harris, Rodney Harris and Joshua Harris. Honorary pallbearers were Mitchell Ellis, Cal Bush, Dewayne Pollard, Michael Randall and Keith Atkins.
Duncan Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Farmer
Funeral services for Howard L. Farmer, 80, of Livingston, were held on Friday, November 7, 2003, with the Rev. Frank Hood officiating. Interment followed in Peebles Cemetery, with military honors provided by VFW Post 8568 of Livingston and Masonic graveside rites provided by Trinity Lodge No. 14 AF&AM of Livingston.
Mr. Farmer, a longtime Livingston locksmith, was born on January 29, 1923 in Atlanta, Georgia, to parents Howard Andrew and Katie Morgan Farmer. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Marine Corps. He married Nadine Rowden on July 16, 1945 in Fort Worth and they had been Livingston residents since 1982, moving from Fort Worth. Mr. Farmer was raised a Master mason in Fort Worth Lodge No. 148 AF&AM on November 25, 1957. In 1999 he received his 40-year Masonic pin from Trinity Lodge No. 14 AF&AM in Livingston, where he was a member. He was a member of Morningside Christian Church in Fort Worth.
Mr. Farmer died Wednesday, November 5, 2003, at his residence. In addition to his parents, a sister, Julia, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Nadine; a daughter, Frances Farmer Parker of Livingston; brother, Roy Farmer of Conyers, Georgia; grandchildren, Buck McClain and wife, Kristy, and Jeff Parker and wife, Aimee, all of Livingston; and great-grandchildren, Ryan Buck McClain, Easton Andrew McClain, and Cali Adeline Parker, all of Livingston.
Pallbearers were Buck McClain, Jeff Parker, Ryan McClain, Easton McClain, Darrell Lonfino, Greg Miller, Robert Burks and Paul Cain.
Pace Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Haigler
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 8, 2003, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, for Jimmy Haigler, 68, with the Rev. Harold Isaacs officiating. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery.
He was born March 18, 1935 in  Jones County, Mississippi, the son of George Franklin Haigler and Laura Smith Haigler. He graduated from Moselle High School in Moselle, Mississippi. He married Mary Scruggs Haigler on June 25, 1960 in Moselle, Mississippi. Mr. Haigler worked for Metallic Building Company for over 20 years in customer service. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Haigler died Thursday, November 6, in Livingston. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George F. Haigler Jr., Hubert H. Haigler and Jack H. Haigler; and sister, Inez Walter.
Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
