Graveside services were held Sunday, November 30, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. for Nellie Ellis, 67, at Restland Memorial Park with Pastor Sven Levin officiating.
She was born March 13, 1936 in Winnsboro,  South Carolina, the daughter of Johnny and Sallie Branham, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Douglas Ellis on March 9, 1953 in Chester,  South Carolina.
Mrs. Ellis died Thursday, November 27, 2003 at her residence in Livingston.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Douglas Ellis of Livingston; sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas Jr. and Wanda Ellis of Las Vegas, Nevada and Dennis and Amy Ellis of Abilene; brothers, Alvin Branham of Livingston and Horace Branham of Winnsboro,  South Carolina; sister, Lillie Mae Hickerson of Gaston,  South Carolina; granddaughters, Elizabeth Bigelow of Las Vegas, Nevada, Nikki Ellis of Carrollton, Georgia and Rebecca Ellis of Abilene; grandsons, Christopher Ellis of Las Vegas, Nevada, Robert Ellis of Lake  Jackson and Josh Ellis of Abilene; and nine great-grandchildren.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Hendrix
Funeral services for Reba Thomas Hendrix, 88, of Livingston, were held Wednesday, November 26, 2003, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Rex Hendrix and Rev. Billy Duff officiating. Burial followed in Big Sandy Cemetery in Dallardsville.
She was born October 11, 1915 in Pennington, the daughter of James Franklin Thomas and Florence Georgia May Thomas.
Mrs. Hendrix died Saturday, November 22, 2003 in Memorial Health System of East  Texas in Lufkin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Early; her parents; daughter, Jaunice Leggett; sister, Betty Lowry; brother, Howard Bowden; grandson, James Edward Wiggins; and great-granddaughter, Brittany Wiggins.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Earlene Wiggins of Segno, Merlene and Syl Foyt of Danbury, Janette Smith of Danbury, Sharon and Johnny Manuel of Livingston and Sandra Kaye Hendrix of Lufkin; 23 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Evelenor Lambert of Bellville; and brother, Raymond Thomas of Houston.
Pallbearers were Tommy Lambert, George Lambert, David Smith, Don Rothwell, Mark Duff and Scott Duff.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Laminack
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 29, 2003, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, for Charlie Dee Laminack, 67, with the Rev. Jack  White and Jack McCool officiating. Burial followed in Essex Cemetery in Stoddard County, Missouri. military honors were conducted by the VFW Post 8568 Honor Guard.
He was born December 9, 1935 in Heflin, Alabama, the son of George L. and Essie Mae Coley Laminack. He married Mary Imogene McCool Laminack on March 3, 1955 in Morehouse, Missouri. Mr. Laminack served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Laminack died Thursday, November 27, 2003, at his residence in Shepherd. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Albert Laminack, Gordon Laminack and Vernon Laminack; sisters, Betty McCutheon and Lena Godwin; and granddaughter, Mindy Kay Davidson.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Mary Imogene McCool Laminack of Shepherd; daughters, Mary E. Laminack of Livingston, Debbie Gutierrez of Humble and Dianna Lynn of Stafford; son, Billy C. Laminack of Shepherd; brother, James Laminack of Morehouse, Missouri; sisters, Lessie Sims of Dongola, Illinois and Faye Brady of Stockton, California; grandchildren, Sheree Stacy, Lori Smith, Dustin Davidson, Donald Usher, Crystal Laminack, Kelly Laminack and Darin Laminack; and great-grandchildren, Kaylee Egger, Joey Stacy and Mindy Alexis Davidson.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Pierce
Graveside services for Betty Jo Pierce, 76, of Livingston, were held Saturday, November 22, 2003, at  Jones Prairie Cemetery in Leggett, with Bro. Randal Whitt officiating.
She was born November 28, 1926 in Houston, the daughter of Jesse Emery Massey and Opal Ruth Tomlin Massey, both of whom preceded her in death.
Mrs. Pierce died Wednesday, November 19, 2003, in Houston.
Survivors include her daughter, Jonel Beard of Houston; son-in-law, Herman Beard of Houston; daughter, Pauline Wehling of Rosharon; son, Vernon L. Pierce Jr. of Livingston; daughter-in-law, Connie J. Pierce of Livingston; brother, Eugene Massey of Beeville; granddaughters, Trudy Callan of Spring, Lisa Bittick of Houston, Shelia Reinhart of Bryan and Lyndye Yeagin of Florida; grandsons, Paul Thompson, Vernon Wehling and Robert Wehling II, all of Houston and Vernon L. Pierce III; 12 great-grandsons and seven great-granddaughters.
Pallbearers were Vernon L. Pierce Jr., Vernon L. Pierce III, Paul Allen Thompson, Vernon Wayne Wehling, Robert Martin Wehling II and Herman Ray Beard.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Meachum
Big Thicket Messenger - January 18, 2004
Funeral services for Florence Elizabeth Meachum, 64, of Houston, were held Thursday, January 8, 2004, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Frank Hood officiating. Burial followed in Menard Chapel Cemetery.
She was born January 10, 1939 in Houston, the daughter of Alton and Edna F. Duff Williams.
Mrs. Meachum died Sunday, January 4, 2004, in East Houston Regional Medical Center in Houston. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Trudy Pillow; and brother, Melvin Williams.
Survivors include her husband, William J. "Bill" Meachum of Houston; son, Joel Byers of Spring; sisters and brothers-in-law, Myrtle and Jack Shepard of Houston and Vivian and George  Johnson of Trinity; brothers and sisters-in-law, Keith and Paula Williams of Humble and Alton "Bubba" and Sandy Williams of Highlands; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
Pallbearers were Tracy Pillow, Steve Pillow, David Johnson, Ricky Pillow, Duke Johnson, Clay Childers and Michael Williams.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Mitchell
Big Thicket Messenger - January 18, 2004
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 10, 2004 from the Center Grove Cemetery pavilion, for Linda Joanne Mitchell, 53, of Livingston, with Bro. Monte Chitty officiating. Burial followed in Center Grove Cemetery.
She was born May 31, 1950 in Houston, the daughter of Weldon Bailey Driskell and Claire Clifton Driskell. She graduated from MB Smiley High School in Houston in 1969. She was a member of Leggett Baptist Church in Leggett.
Mrs. Mitchell died Wednesday, January 7, 2004 in Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Mitchell; and her father.
Survivors include her mother, Clare May Driskell of Livingston; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Hilda Mitchell of Livingston; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Melvin Nesmith Jr. of Livingston; granddaughters, Destiny Nesmith, Kelsie Nesmith and Baili Annette Mitchell; grandson, Melvin E. "Trey" Nesmith III; brother, Ray Driskell of Marryville, Illinois; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and friend of eight years, Wendall Barlow of Pineland.
Pallbearers were David Mitchell, Marcia Broom, Melvin Nesmith Jr., Ray Driskell, Donald Mitchell and Wendall Barlow.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Noble

Graveside services for Agnes Marie Noble, 79, of Huntsville, were held Saturday, January 10, 2004, from Guedry Cemetery in Batson, with Gideon Watson officiating.
She was born June 3, 1924 in Trinity, the daughter of Sylvester and Lillie Mae Sandford Adams.
Mrs. Noble died Thursday, January 8, in Livingston. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, James William Noble.
Survivors include her sons, Larry E. Noble of Deer Park, James G. Noble of Livingston and William Noble of Brookshire; daughter, Jo Ann Herwick of Ardmore,  Oklahoma; daughters and sons-in-law, Leila and Jerry Bailey of Huntsville and Louise and William Miller of Trinity; sister-in-law, Joyce Adams and husband, Craig, of San Marcos; grandsons, Johnny Wade, Len Noble, Robert Adams, David Wade, Chris Noble, Gabriel Miller and William Noble Jr.; granddaughters, Christine Herwick, Starrla Noble and Christina Noble; and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is pending for Barbara Lynn Stevens, 55, of Shepherd, 55, of Shepherd, who died Friday, January 9, 2004, in UTMB Medical Center in Galveston.
She was born May 13, 1948 in Harrisburg, Arkansas, the daughter of Luther Farley Webb and Hazel Holloway Webb. She was preceded in death by her father; and her husband, James C. Stevens Sr.
Survivors include her daughter, Shelly Walker of Conroe; sons and daughters-in-law, James C. and Wendy Stevens Jr. of Spring and Timothy Craig and Stephanie Stevens of Tyler; sister, Sandra Akins of Brighton, Tennessee; mother, Hazel Carman of Brighton, Tennessee; and grandchildren, Cortney Warren, Kenneth Hairston, Sharee Davis, Gypsy Stevens, Meaghan Stevens and Aaron Stevens.

Thornton

Graveside services were held Saturday, January 10, 2004 in Concord Cemetery in Robbins for June Thornton, 70, with the Rev. Frank Hood officiating.
She was born March 22, 1933 in Baird, the daughter of Eric and Annie May Munsell Thorne, both of whom preceded her in death.
Mrs. Thornton died Tuesday, January 6, 2004, in McKinney.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandy Thornton of Plano; brother, Alton Thorne of Calico Rock, Arkansas; sisters, Joye Weyenberg of Needville and Oleta Ortega of Forest Groe, Oregon; grandchild, Shannon Edwards of Dallas; nephews, Gary Ross of Mansfield, Paul Ross of Sulligent, Alabama, Terry Ross of Mansfield, Kevin Thorne of Alexandria,  Louisiana, Keith Thorne of Houston and Kenneth Thorne of Baytown; and nieces, Adele Vine of Leawood, Kansas, Jan Ryan of Kansas City, Missouri, Cindy Bedwell of Houston and Kristen Thorne of Cleveland, Ohio.

Wolf
Big Thicket Messenger - January 18, 2004
A memorial service was held Saturday, January 10, at Peace Lutheran Church in Austin for Lori Lynne Wolf, 43, of Houston. Interment was at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 12, 2004 in Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska.
She was born to Carl and Mavis Wolf in Houston on November 27, 1960. She was reared in Houston, graduating from Spring  Woods High School in 1979. She graduated from  Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree in chemistry in 1983 and earned a master's in chemistry from Sam Houston State University in 1985.
She worked for several years as a forensic chemist in the crime lab of the Pasadena  Texas Police Department. Later she worked as a criminalist for the Houston Crime Lab of the  Texas DFS. After her marriage to A. T. Campbell III in 1995, she moved to Austin. There she started working part time at a friend's mystery/science fiction book store, Adventures in Crime & Space. The job was supposedly temporary but she liked bookselling so much that she stayed with the store until it closed its storefront in 2002. She started as a sales clerk and eventually became the store's webmaster and new book buyer. She and her husband relocated to Houston in August 2003 due to her husband's job transfer.
She loved reading. During college she became involved with Cepheid Variable, the student science fiction club. She continued involvement with the  Texas literary communities for the rest of her life. She chaired several literary conventions in Austin, organized the Hugo Awards ceremony at the 1997 World Science Fiction Convention in San Antonio, and also organized the Anthony Awards ceremony at Bouchercon, the World Mystery Convention in Austin in 2002. She was also active in the FACT reading group for many years.
Mrs. Wolf died Tuesday, January 6, 2004 in MD Anderson Hospital after a year-long struggle with ovarian cancer.
Survivors include her husband, A.T. Campbell III of Houston; mother, Mavis Wolf of Brookings, South Dakota; sister, Lisa Wolf (Scott Miller); nieces and nephews including Susan, Stacy, Beau, Kyle, Cassidy and Margaret Miller of Brookings, South Dakota; and her yellow lab, Fred.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Gilda's Club, the American Cancer Society or the Heart of  Texas Lab Rescue.
