March 22, 2004
Graveside services for Mary Evelyn Cain, 79, of Livingston, were conducted February 21, 2004, at Magnolia Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Brackin officiating.
She was born February 6, 1925 in Grayberg, the daughter of the late Rev. James Monroe and Lesta Kay Cain. She was a resident of Livingston for several years, formerly of New Orleans,  Louisiana, and Beaumont. She enjoyed playing the piano, writing short stories and volunteering at various senior and civic organizations. She was known as a beloved mother, grandmother and sister.
Mrs. Cain died February 16, 2004 in Conroe Medical Center. She was preceded in death by son, Charles Monroe Brown of Livingston; and siblings, J.M. Cain Jr. of Silsbee, Collin Cain and Ivy Lee (Cain) Smart.
Survivors include one daughter, Charlotte Bosch of New Orleans,  Louisiana; three sons, L.J. Strickland of Warwick, Rhode Island, Clifford M. Chick Brown of Coldspring and Albert Hugh Brown Jr. of New Orleans,  Louisiana; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Crace
March 22, 2004
Funeral services for Erdie T. Crace, 89, of Onalaska, were held Saturday, March 13, 2004, at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska, with James A. Crace officiating.
He was born July 8, 1914 in Saytersville, Kentucky, the son of Mack E. and Margaret Lou Lemaster Crace. He served in the Navy during World War II.
Mr. Crace died Wednesday, March 10, in Memorial Health System of East  Texas in Lufkin. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Lake Erie Crace of Onalaska; sons and daughters-in-law, Curtis Richard and Eula Crace of Arizona and James A. and Katie Crace of Kentucky; daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Chuck Howard of Onalaska; grandchildren, Carolyn, Saundra, Curtis Allen, Dean, Beverly, Richard Sherry, Jamie and Joey; 24 great-grandchildren; and sister, Alaska Rhoden of Ohio.
Cochran Funeral Home, Onalaska, was in charge of arrangements.

Crumbley
March 22, 2004
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 15, 2004, for Mary Lou Crumbley, 70, of Livingston, at Pace Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Byrd officiating. Graveside rites were held at 1:15 p.m. Monday at Houston National Cemetery.
Mrs. Crumbley was born February 26, 1934 in Bandera to parents Sylvester Anthony and Virginia Flanary Anderwald. She married William Crumbley in 1961 and he preceded her in death in 1982. She had been an area resident for 12 years, moving from Pasadena.
She died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at her residence.
Survivors include one son, John Walker of Rowlett; daughter, Cathy Currie of Livingston; brother, Jack Anderwald of Cucamonga, California; four sisters, Peggy Martin and Pat Cates, both of Buffalo, Toni Anderson of Crosby and Fern Campanite of Chauvin,  Louisiana; and three grandchildren.
Pace Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Jones
March 22, 2004
Charles Edward Jones, 70, of Onalaska, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, in Livingston.
Mr.  Jones was born on August 17, 1933 in Tahoka, the son of Jeff  Jones Sr. and Ora Preas Jones. He served with the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and was a retired self-employed drywall installer. He had been an area resident for seven years, moving from Casper, Wyoming.
Survivors include his wife, Alberta of Onalaska; children, Charles Edward  Jones Jr. of Fort Worth, Thomas Michael  Jones of Dallas, John Allen Wallace of  Whitehouse, Cynthia D. Rogers of Arlington, Brenda Eby of Kalusbel, Montana, Carol Ann Williams of Livingston and Linda Giles of Henderson; brother, Jeff  Jones Jr. of Nogales, Arizona; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were by Pace Funeral Home of Livingston.

Rodriguez
March 22, 2004
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 13, 2004 for Roberto Maldonado Rodriguez, 75, of Livingston, at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Clifton Labbe officiating. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery. military honors were conducted by the VFW Post 8568 Honor Guard. A rosary was held Friday, March 12, at Cochran Funeral Home.
He was born December 25, 1928 in Dilley, the son of Domingo and Apolonia Maldonado Rodriguez. He married Elva Rodriguez on November 17, 1972 in Piedras Negras Coah Mexico. Mr. Rodriguez served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Livingston.
Mr. Rodriguez died Thursday, March 11, in Memorial Health Systems of East  Texas in Lufkin. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Raul Rodriguez.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Elva Rodriguez of Livingston; sons and daughters-in-law, Roberto Jr. and Sorina Rodriguez of Dilley, Norberto and Irma Rodriguez of Dilley, Javier Garcia of San Antonio, Babe Ruth and Ana Rodriguez of Corrigan and Cesar and Maelena Rodriguez of Livingston; daughters and sons-in-law, JoAnn Rodriguez of Dilley, Suky and Jose Manuel Arredondo of Livingston, Ramona and Humberto Perez of Livingston, Leonor Sauceda of Livingston and Fatima Tamayo of Livingston; and sisters, Herminia Rincon of Dilley and Matilda and husband, Frank De Los Samos of Dilley.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Thompson
March 22, 2004
Funeral services for Howard Dean Thompson, 76, of Livingston, were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2004, at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Lee Poe officiating. Burial followed in Union Springs Cemetery, Corrigan.
He was born November 16, 1927 in Stephens, Arkansas, the son of Carl Lee Thompson and Leona Thurman Thompson. He attended schools in Tyler and Texarkana. Mr. Thompson served in the Marines during World War II.
Mr. Thompson died Thursday, March 11, in Livingston. He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Patty Thompson and Marie Thompson; and two brothers, Carl Thompson Jr. and Wesley Thompson.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Laddis Thompson of Livingston; step-sons and wives, James and Suzanne Witherspoon of Schwab City, Marcus and Mary Ann Witherspoon and Ronnie Witherspoon, all of Livingston; step-daughter, Eva Langford of Livingston; grandsons, Brent Thompson of Livingston, Michael Reider of London, James Langford of Livingston, Eddie Witherspoon of Livingston, and Brandon Witherspoon of Livingston; granddaughters, Ina Baress of Livingston and Brandy Welker of Groveton; nine great-grandchildren and sister, Margaret deForest of Buffalo, New York.
Pallbearers were Paul Davison, Tommy Walker, Ed Jones, Brent Thompson, Bill Kimberlin and John Baskin.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Aull
March 15, 2004
Funeral services for Clarence Marion Aull III, 57, of Onalaska, were held Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Barry Duke officiating. Burial followed in Peebles Cemetery
He was born January 9, 1947 in Baton Rouge,  Louisiana, the son of Clarence and Virginia Smith Aull Jr. He married Antonia Aull on May 20, 1991 in Wichita Falls. Mr. Aull was a member of Winnie Street Baptist Church in Livingston, serving as a deacon and Sunday School teacher and sponsor on foreign mission fields. He was a correction officer and an accomplished certified chief truck driver. He served in the Marines during the Vietnam era.
Mr. Aull died Monday, March 1, in Memorial Medical Center, Livingston.
Survivors include his wife, Antonia Aull of Onalaska; step-son, Brenner Lee Junek of Onalaska; step-daughter, Queen Junek of Onalaska; sons, Shon Aull of Lake Charles,  Louisiana and Matthew Aull of Muskogee,  Oklahoma; father, Clarence Aull Jr. of Hemphill; mother, Virginia Aull of Hemphill; sister, Marian Bliss of Colorado; and numerous grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Kenneth W. Foster, Louis Dozer, Ken Manness, Gary Lowe, David Ellis and Jimmy Kraus.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Burgett
March 15, 2004
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2004 for Eassel Ray Burgett, 61, of Onalaska, at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska. Burial followed in Bold Springs Cemetery, Livingston.
He was born January 9, 1943 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the son of Charles A. and Ada Duncan Burgett. He married Judy Grammer Burgett on December 13, 1964 in North Port, Alabama. He was a former member of the Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department.
He passed away on Friday, February 27, in Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Bradley McDonald; and sister, Geneva Ann Winters.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Judy Grammer Burgett of Onalaska; sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Debra McDonald of Onalaska and Matthew and Peggy Burgett of Clear Lake; daughter and special friend, Cam Rivers and Mark Parker of Livingston; granddaughters, Jennifer Dunn of Alabama, Bobbie Jo McDonald of Port Arthur, Danielle and Wendie McDonald, both of Alabama, Rashel Rivers of Livingston and Schyler Findley of Onalaska; grandsons, Warren Kelly of Livingston, Steven Findley of Alabama, Josh Findley of Onalaska, Spencer Burgett, Michael Burgett and Timothy Burgett, all of Clear Lake; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were J.R. Lacaze, Russell Crawley, Mark Rivers, Mitch Newman, Marty Drake, Buddy Paul Whatley and Spencer Burgett.
Cochran Funeral Home, Onalaska, was in charge of arrangements.

Burr
March 15, 2004
Graveside services for David Curtis Burr, 47, of Rye, were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2004, at Oakdale Cemetery in Daisetta.
A native of DeRidder,  Louisiana, he was an oilfield worker.
Survivors include his wife, Sonya Lee Burr of Liberty; three daughters, Felicia Mobley of Bryan, Elizabeth Ritchey of Moss Hill and Jenell Burr of Hull; two brothers, Damien Allen and John Paul Allen, both of Liberty; three sisters, Velda Burr of Pasadena, Faye Burr and Debra Burr, both of Hull; and a host of other relatives and friends.

David
March 15, 2004
Funeral services for Joseph Marion 'Bill' David, 66, of Goodrich, were held Thursday, March 4, 2004, at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Shelton Easley and Quin Williams officiating. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery. military honors were conducted by the VFW Post 8568 Honor Guard.
He was born April 10, 1937 in Livingston, the son of William John Bryan David and Alma Elizabeth Callahan David. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Goodrich. He served in the Navy from 1959-1962, attaining the rank of petty officer third class.
Mr. David died Monday, March 1, in M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcia Frances Davis; and his parents.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Denise David of Goodrich; son, Mark David of Goodrich; granddaughters, Jennifer Leigh David and Jessica Renee David, both of Goodrich; grandson, Eric Scott David of Goodrich; grandson-in-law, Travis Blackmon of Goodrich; great-granddaughter, Paige Marie Blackmon of Goodrich; brother and sister-in-law, Roy Keith and Susanne David of Livingston; sisters and brothers-in-law, Diann Elizabeth and Ray Lowe and Alma John and Dennis Perkins, all of Livingston; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and close family, Kay Ann Rutherford and Sherrye Rutherford of Goodrich.
Pallbearers were Robert Lantrip, Johnny Meyers, Ben Royden Ogletree, Sam Oldham Sr., Bubba Nelson and Cullen Vailes. Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of First Baptist Church of Goodrich, Clarence Ellis, Curtis Gokey, Allan Cook, Pete Nelson, James Walters, James Phillips, Ed Clevenger and Richard Dean.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Goodrich.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Evers
March 15, 2004
Graveside services for Veatrice Maxine Evers, 86, of Onalaska, were held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2004, at Houston National Cemetery in Houston.
She was born July 8, 1917 in Temple, the daughter of Jeff and Viola Adcock Little.
Evers died on Friday, February 27, 2004 in Livingston.
Many loving and close friends survive.
Pallbearers were David Schomer, Ronald Ordner, Lupe Mendez and Chris Danchak. Honorary pallbearers were Jackie Carey and Ricky Runnels.
Cochran Funeral Home, Onalaska, was in charge of arrangements.
