August 30, 2004
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 28, 2004, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska for Arthur Himel Rozell, 67, with the Rev. Danny Craig officiating.
He was born August 9, 1937 in Houston, the son of John B. Rozell Sr. and Olive T. Himel Rozell, both of whom preceded him in death.
Mr. Rozell died Wednesday, August 18, 2004.
Survivors include his daughter, Pam Barnes of Houston; sons, Mark Rozell of Pascagoula, Mississippi and Arthur Rozell Jr. of Ocalla, Florida; brothers, John B. Rozell Jr. of Onalaska, Jim Longshorn of Houston and Ella Lou Seiler of Duncanville; grandchildren, Sara Kay, Marchie, Mark, Telisha, Valorie and Walt; and two great-great grandchildren.
Cochran Funeral Home, Onalaska, was in charge of arrangements.

Selix
August 30, 2004
Funeral services for Leroy Albert Selix, 78, of Livingston, were conducted Friday, August 20, 2004, with Chaplain Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment followed in Peebles Cemetery.
He was born January 15, 1926 in Unionville, Iowa, the son of Arlo and Mary Bell Selix. he had been a resident of Livingston for five years, moving from Conway, Arkansas. He was active in retail sales in flea markets for many years and was known as the "Unknown Songwriter" for his writing of country music.
Mr. Selix died Tuesday, August 17, 2004, at his residence. In addition to his parents, a son, Roy M. Selix, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his companion, Joyce, of Livingston; his children's mother, Mary Selix of Kountze; son, Richard Selix of Kountze; five daughters, Jennifer  Johnson of Gilchrest, Karen Selix of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Marilyn Fritts of Conway, Arkansas, Margaret Davis of Kountze and Jodi Roed and husband, Peter, of Alma, Michigan; daughter-in-law, Doris Davis and husband, Red; two brothers, Ray Selix of Missouri and Ronnie Selix of Iowa; and a sister, Alice Johnson, of Iowa.
Pace Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Hill
August 23, 2004
Graveside services for infant Sarah Hill were held Tuesday, August 10, 2004, at Peebles Cemetery near Livingston.
Sarah died Sunday, August 8, in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Survivors include her parents, Mark and Mary Hill; and brother,  Taylor Hill, all of Silsbee; and grandparents, Aubrey and D'ann Hill.

Upchurch
August 23, 2004
A memorial service for Mary Morris Upchurch, 82, of Onalaska, was held Saturday, August 14, 2004, in the First Baptist Church of Onalaska, with the Rev. Don Wilkey officiating.
She was born October 19, 1921 in Bedias, the daughter of James T. "Buster" Morris and N. Lillian Williams Morris, and attended Bedias High School. A resident of Onalaska for 23 years, Mrs. Upchurch was self-employed, retiring after 20 years as owner/operator of an Exxon service station. She was a member of the Baptist Church and the senior citizens group in Onalaska. She was known as a special person who loved God, family, life and friends.
Mrs. Upchurch died Tuesday, August 10, in Select Specialties Hospital in Conroe. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.E. Upchurch, whom she married on June 14, 1942 in Madisonville; son-in-law, Milton Francis; her parents; step-mother, Willie Virginia Thompson Morris; brothers, Brady Marlin, Thomas Earl, John David, William Edward, Lester Ray and Curtis and wife, Lona Morris; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Laverne and C.E. Nixon and Jimmie and A.G. Jordan.
Survivors include her children, J.D. and Ann Upchurch of Honolulu, Hawaii, Rodney and Gaynell Upchurch of Trinity and Dee Francis of Onalaska; grandchildren, Clay and Debbie Upchurch of San Antonio, Kelley and Dale Moore of North Richland Hills, Marcus and Alicia Upchurch of LaPorte, Bill Francis of Corpus Christi, Earl and Janie Francis of Gun Barrel and Vic and Sue Francis of Longview; great-grandchildren, Morgan Upchurch, Vicki Moore, Owen Upchurch, Rebecca Moore and Elizabeth Upchurch; sisters, Melva Green, Irene Baylor, Winona Juneo, Barbara Ann Dinning, Virginia Young and Melba Norton; many nieces and nephews and special friends, Gloria, Birdie, Ginni and Debbie.

Davis
August 23, 2004
Funeral services for Robbie 'Hootie' Davis, 80, of Livingston, were held Saturday, August 14, 2004, at Providence No. 1 Baptist Church in Leggett, with the Rev. Ronnie Coleman officiating. Burial followed in New Wensley Cemetery, Leggett.
She was born April 1, 1924 in New Willard, the daughter of A.C. and Lizzie Phillips. She attended Dunbar Public School and Prairie View A&M University. Mrs. Davis was a Baptist
Mrs. Davis died August 6 in Lufkin.
Survivors include two daughters, Johnnie Bradford and husband, Bill, of Dayton and Jacqueline Green of Los Angeles, California; four sons, Kenneth Wayne Davis and wife, Ruby, Fred Marshall Davis, Louis Charles Davis, all of Livingston and Craig Davis of Killeen; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Lessie Bailey and husband, Red, Martha Burch and husband, Kenneth, of Seven Oaks and Dora Ann  Johnson and husband, Lonnie, of Moscow; three brothers, J.C. Phillips, Willie Phillips and wife, Linda, and Troy Lee Phillips, all of Seven Oaks; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were LaVelle Davis, Craig Davis, Raymond Branch, Jerome Davis, Omar Phillips and Patrick Phillips. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of the church, J.C. Phillips, Willie Ray Phillips, Troy Lee Phillips, Craig Davis and Willie Phillips Jr.
Duncan Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Harlan
August 23, 2004
A memorial service for Terry D. Harlan, 42, of Onalaska, was held Saturday, August 14, 2004, in Livingston First Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Roger Gragg officiating.
He was born April 28, 1962 in Groom, the son of Harry Harlan and Geneva Phillips. He was employed by Terry Patterson Drilling Company and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. A resident of Onalaska for the past three years, he previously lived in Houston.
Mr. Harlan died August 3 in Onalaska of brain cancer. He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Harlan, whom he married on November 7, 2001 and had been with for 23 years; mother, Geneva Phillips of Pampa; sister, Janice Glover of Amarillo; and son, Jacob Woodall of San Antonio.
Following the memorial service, a fellowship dinner, was held at the church in his honor.

Hayes
August 23, 2004
Graveside services were held Wednesday, August 11, 2004, for Onyta Hayes, 88, at Forest Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Bryan Dickens officiating.
She was born October 10, 1915 in Leggett, the daughter of John and Ivey Gulley McKee. Mrs. Hayes died Tuesday, August 10, at her residence in Livingston. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Thomas McKee; and sisters, Edna Whisenhunt, Roberta Howard, Carrie Faye McKee and Cyrene Matthews.
Survivors include her daughters, Rita S. Milton and Neta Young, both of Livingston; grandchildren, Michael Milton, Julie Flores, Shelly Young and Jacob Young; and great-granddaughters, Graden Emmons and Trace Flores.

McDougal
August 23, 2004
Memorial services are pending for Fred McDougal, 70, of Livingston, who passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2004, at his residence in Livingston.
He was born October 27, 1933 in Tellico Plains, Tennessee, the son of Luther and Roxie Wilson McDougal.
Survivors include his step-sons, Robert Yeager of Houston, Michael Yeager of Onalaska, David Yeager of El Paso and David Hanson of Bay City; niece, Phyllis Cagel of Ranger, California; nephew, Dana Sewell of Tunnel Hill, Georgia; companion, April Bowen of Livingston; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Parker
August 23, 2004
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, August 5, 2004, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel for Joe Allen Parker, with the Revs. Mitchell Murphy and Harold Isaacs officiating. Burial followed in Center Grove Cemetery.
He was born February 3, 1951 in New Willard, the son of Loby and Lola Smith Parker. Mr. Parker died Tuesday, August 3, 2004, in Methodist Hospital in Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Richard Parker and Arlen Parker.
Survivors include devoted companion, Bobbie Epstein of Livingston; daughter and son-in-law, Baresha and Randall Rooks of Livingston; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Patsy Parker, Clayton Parker and Roy and Sarah Parker, all of Livingston; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruby Lee and O.R. Ferguson, Thelma Hopson, Janice and Bo Free and Marlene and Don Purvis, all of Livingston; and grandchild, Randa Rooks of Livingston.
Pallbearers were Eddie Larose, Charlie Stephens, Ronnie Loper, Harold Johnson, Buck McClain, Michael Bennett, Lloyd Abbey and Ronnie Taylor. Honorary pallbearers were Mickey Howell, James Duff, Tyler Epstein, Earl Gibson, Gerald Snook and Jason  Schmidt.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Farrar
August 17, 2004
Funeral services for Jimmie Bob Farrar, 71, were held Friday, August 6, 2004, at Cochran Funeral Home, with the Rev. Frank Hood officiating. Burial followed in Bold Springs Cemetery. military honors were provided by VFW Post 8568.
He was born June 4, 1933 in Houston, the son of E.R. and Nova Lee Riley Farrar, both of whom preceded him in death. Mr. Farrar worked for the City of Houston Police Department from 1958 to 1997.
Mr. Farrar died Monday, August 2, 2004, in St. Luke's Hospital in Houston.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Farrar; sons and daughters-in-law, James Michael and Sharon Farrar of Livingston and Richard and Cindy Farrar of San Jose, California; daughter and son-in-law, Roben and Ronnie Lee of Livingston; daughter, Laura Lopez of Livingston; granddaughter and husband, Danielle and David Perry of Dallas; and grandsons, Kevin Farrar of the United States Air Force, Cody Lee, Mason Lee and Gabriel Lopez, all of Livingston.
Pallbearers were John Romero, Mason Lee, Cody Lee, Ronnie Bledsoe, Joe Walton and David Perry. Honorary pallbearers included Eddie Butler, Howard Lilley, Justin Railey, Polk County Sheriff's Department, Houston Police Department and all other law enforcement.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

McLeod
August 17, 2004
Funeral services were held Thursday, August 5, 2004 for Banie McLeod, 90, at Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Hood officiating. Burial followed in Bold Springs Cemetery.
She was born June 20, 1914 in Carlisle, the daughter of Sidney and Carey Ellis Chessher. Mrs. McLeod died Monday, August 2, in Memorial Medical Center, Livingston.
Survivors include her sons, Darwin McLeod of Houston, John McLeod and wife, Joyce, of Houston and Anthony McLeod and wife, Sue, of Humble; brother and sister-in-law, Sidney and Fanny Lou Chessher of Marshall; sister and brother-in-law, Meadie Inez and Calvin Hill of Houston; grandchildren, Carey McLeod, John D. McLeod and wife, Janie, Clinton McLeod and wife, Angie, Penny Bostic, Tony Bostic, Brice McLeod, Meredith Rosario and husband, Manuel, and Sean McLeod and wife, Tiffany; and great-grandchildren, Alexis McLeod, Elvis McLeod and Adam McLeod.
Pallbearers were Brice McLeod, John D. McLeod, Clinton McLeod, Tony Bostic and Lester Chessher.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.
