Funeral services for Francis Joseph McNamara, 81, were held Friday, August 6, 2004, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, with Father Clifton Labbe officiating.
He was born July 8, 1923 in Bronx County, New York, the son of William and Rose Murray McNamara. Mr. McNamara died Sunday, August 1, 2004. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Doris McNamara; and son, Timothy McNamara.
Survivors include his wife, Elnor McNamara; and sister, Mary Catherine Burns.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Thibodeau
August 17, 2004
Funeral services were held Thursday, August 5, 2004, in Friendship Harbor Church for Lonie Reba Thibodeau, 52, with the Rev. Reagan Duncan officiating.
She was born August 11, 1951 in Dora, Alabama, the daughter of William Luther Davis and Margie Marie Higginbotham, both of whom preceded her in death.
Mrs. Thibodeau died Wednesday, August 4, at her residence.
Survivors include her husband, James Thibodeau; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Robbie and Christopher Tlougan of Winter Haven, Florida; granddaughter, Anna Elizabeth Tlougan; and grandson, Donnie Rueben Tlougan, both of Winter Haven, Florida; sisters and brothers-in-law, Fay and Don Wats and Bobbie and Rick Teal, all of Trinity; and sister, Cindy Beasley of Trinity.
Pallbearers were Don Wars, Chris Tlougan, George Gallagher, Rick Teal, Derek Cotrone, Dale Goad and Randy Castleberry.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Thomas
August 17, 2004
Funeral services for Aubrey Vernon Thomas, 76, were held Tuesday, August 3, 2004, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Jack Bailey and Bro. Larry Byrd officiating. Burial followed in Peebles Cemetery. military honors were provided by VFW Post 8568.
He was born August 6, 1927 in Kaufman, the son of Arthur Vernon Thomas and Mary Humphrey Thomas. Mr. Thomas died Saturday, July 31, in Memorial Medical Center, Livingston. He was preceded in death by his father; and brother, Foster Thomas.
Survivors include his wife, Nadine Thomas; his mother, Mary Luta Humphrey Thomas; sons, Greg Thomas and wife, Sarah, Steve Thomas of Cleveland and Brett Thomas; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Mark Norris of Houston; grandsons, Scott Travis Gastauer and Brad Thomas; great-grandson, Scott Travis Gastaner Jr.; great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Holly Thomas; sister, Eugina Jordan of Malakoff; brother, Bobby Thomas of Athens; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Pete Nelson, Mark Norris, Bob Marsh, Kenneth Scott, Scotty Gastauer and Brad Thomas. Honorary pallbearer was Bill Coolings.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Edwards
August 10, 2004
Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 5, 2004 for Meachel Edwards, 92, of Livingston, at Pace Funeral Home in Livingston with Rev. Royce Pennington officiating. Interment followed at Restland Cemetery.
Mrs. Edwards was born January 11, 1912 in Winfield, Alabama, the daughter of Fayette and Mellie Causey  White. She married Thad Edwards in 1928 in Tuscola,  Texas and he preceded her in 1990. She retired in 1975 from First City National Bank in Houston and had been a resident of Livingston since 1975. She was an active member of Houston and has been a resident of Livingston since 1975. She was an active member of Blanchard Baptist Church for many years participating in the choir and home Bible Study.
Mrs. Edwards died Tuesday, August 3, 2004 in Houston.
Survivors include a son, Marx W. Edwards of Houston; sisters, Marcelle McIntyre of Tuscola and Grace Mulloy of Round Rock; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Pace Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Gray
August 10, 2004
Funeral services for Myron Mitchell Gray, 74, were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2004, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel. military honors were provided by the VFW Post 8568.
He was born January 20, 1930 in Seadrift, the son of Herbert and Matha Sanders Gray, both of whom preceded him in death. Mr. Gray died Friday, July 23, 2004, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Melba Gray; son, Monte Gray of Onalaska; daughters, Michelle Gray and Markelle Gray, both of Brea, California, Mindy Gray of Greeley, Colorado; brothers, Merwin Gray of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Dan Gray of Manassas, Virginia; and sisters, Oleta  White of Friendship, Arkansas, Iris Byrd of Metaries,  Louisiana, Barbara Rasey and Vola Chitwood, both of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Marsh
August 10, 2004
Graveside services were held Wednesday, July 28, 2004, for Elizabeth Marsh, in Bold Springs Cemetery, with the Rev. Frank E. Hood officiating.
Mrs. Marsh was born in Dusseldorf, Germany to Goehann and Maria Grunewald. She had been a resident of The Highlands for 25 years, moving from Houston. She married Bob Marsh on October 10, 1994. She died Sunday, July 25, 2004, in Houston.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Marsh of The Highlands; daughter, Trudy Land of Meridian, Mississippi; brother, Wolfgang Grunewald of Dusseldorf, Germany; three sisters, Kati, Anna Mae and Margaret, all of Germany; and three grandchildren.
Pace Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Pickens
August 10, 2004
Funeral services for Deacon Judge Howard Pickens, 93, of Onalaska, were conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2003, in Mt. Enterprise Tabernacle in Oakhurst, with the Rev. H.R. Foreman officiating. Burial followed in St. Andrews Cemetery, Onalaska.
He was born September 22, 1910 in Onalaska, the son of Bige and Clisby Pickens, and was a member of the Baptist Church. He was married on January 29, 1930.
Mr. Pickens died July 24 in Memorial Medical Center - Livingston.
Survivors include three daughters, Elma Chase of Houston, Ethel Jacobs of Onalaska and Lucille Bean (Anderson) of Onalaska; three sons, Frank Pickens Sr. (Flora) of Leggett, Daniel Pickens (Sharon) of Houston and Almer C. Pickens (Sandra) of Highlands; brother, Connie Pickens (Lillian) of Houston; sisters-in-law, True Love Hines of Huntsville, Ethel Hines of Conroe and Jimmie Pickens of Livingston; daughter-in-law, Louise Pickens of Blanchard; 28 grandchildren; 94 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great grandchildren; 12 great-great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Dexter Pickens Sr., Frank Pickens Jr., Jessie Clayborn, James Marshall, Timothy Jr. Marshall and Bashard Jacobs. Honorary pallbearers were Frank Pickens Sr., Daniel Louis Pickens, Almer C. Pickens, Anderson Bean, Connie Pickens, John Ware and Austin Cleveland.
Duncan Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Schlageter
August 10, 2004
Funeral services for Robert Dale Schlageter, 54, were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2004, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Frank Hood and Bill Bowling officiating. Burial followed in Bluff Creek Cemetery. military honors were provided by VFW Post 8568.
He was born May 19, 1950 in Houston, the son of George Howard Schlageter and Gertrude Mary LaBlanc Schlageter, both of whom preceded him in death. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era, having attained the rank of private first class.
Mr. Schlageter died Sunday, July 25, at his residence in Livingston.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Schlageter; daughter and son-in-law, Charity and Aaron Burch of Livingston; daughter, Shanna Burch of Livingston; son, Robert D. Schlageter of Livingston; brothers, Cecil Ray Schlageter of Moorseville, North Carolina, George Schlageter of Houston and Charles Schlageter of Willis; sister, Judy Alldridge of Houston; and granddaughter, Makala S. Schlageter of Livingston.
Pallbearers were Christopher Norris, Mark Huddleston, Charles Lee, Stanley Tucker, James Tucker and Gary Hutson.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Adams
August 10, 2004
Funeral services for Inez Howle Adams, 86, of Hardin, were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2004, at Hardin Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tony Hines officiating. Burial followed in Hardin Chapel Cemetery.
According to her family, who loved her dearly, the community has lost a very special citizen. Adams was loved and respected by all who knew her, and she believed in all that was right and never let a chance go by to help someone in need.
We know that a long time ago in a revival meeting, Adams professed her faith in Jesus Christ. She had a true love for the Lord and never missed a chance to take her girls to church. She attended and reared her children in Black Oak Baptist Church in Hopkins County,  Texas, and in her later years, Adams moved her membership to Hardin Baptist Church.
She was born October 12, 1917 in Hopkins County,  Texas and died Wednesday, July 28, 2004.
Adams was preceded in death by her husband, 50 years prior, Jessie D. Howle, the father of her three daughters; parents, Roy and Della Irene Harris; brother, Henry Lee Harris; and sister, Louise Greer.
Survivors include three sisters, Verde Nell Carter of Galena Park, Irene Carter of Cleveland and Lois Ledbetter of Deer Park; daughters, Eva Nell Horton of Ardmore, Alabama, Connie Campbell of Hardin and Geraldine Jeanes of Hardin; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter and many nieces, nephews and loving relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Cecil Cunningham, David Dagle, Frank Green, Steve Green, Craig Ringer, Johnny Spurlock, Greg Wilcox, Billy Yarbrough and Harvey Williamson.

Burk
August 10, 2004
Funeral services were held Friday, July 30, 2004, at Allison Funeral Service in Liberty for Lawrence 'Pop' Burk, 89, of Devers. Burial followed at Fairlawn Cemetery, Liberty.
He was born October 25, 1914 in Sterns, Kentucky, the son of Matthew Burk and Emma Davenport Burk. He lived in Devers for the last 51 years.
He worked for the Hunt Oil Corporation of Dallas for 47 years before his retirement. During his long career with the company, he lived in several cities in East  Texas and in this area.
Burk was a loving husband and devoted father. He played baseball at a younger age. He loved sports, camping, and working in his yard. He was a proud member of the Republican party and took every opportunity to exercise his rights as a member. He was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ.
Mr. Burk died Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at Liberty-Dayton Hospital in Liberty. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Opal Kelly; brothers, Howard and Adrian Burk; grandchildren, Cheryl Neumann and Milton R. Conner.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Wynema Godwin Burk of Devers; sons and daughters-in-law, David L. Burk and wife, Jo Neta, of Liberty, Charles Everett Burk and wife, Roberta, of Silsbee; sister and brother-in-law, Iwana Long and husband, John, from Lindale,  Texas; eight grandchildren, Danny Burk and wife, Marsha, of Liberty, Donnie L. Burk and wife, Tracey, of Wallisville, Robert Heim and wife, Linda, of Spurger, Randell Heim and wife, Lisa, of Liberty, Tena King and husband, John, of Silsbee, Charles Burk and wife, Dan Anne, of Silsbee, Brenda Sherman and husband, Robbie, of Evergreen, and Deborah Scott and husband, Mark, of Evergreen; six great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends.
Allison Funeral Service, Liberty, was in charge of arrangements.
