Davis
August 10, 2004
Funeral services for Jimmy Neal 'Buddy' Davis, 51, of Livingston, were conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at Pace Funeral Home. Interment followed at Davis Family Cemetery near Camp Ruby.
Mr. Davis was born September 7, 1952 in Livingston, the son of Elijah and Lula Maness Davis. He was a lifetime area resident and was employed in the construction business.
Mr. Davis died Saturday, July 24, 2004, in Beaumont.
Survivors include one daughter, Jamie Lynn of Spokane,  Washington; three sisters, Lucy Harris of Livingston, Delaney Tharp and husband, Bobby, and Judy Medlin and husband, Steve, all of San Antonio; one granddaughter; five nephews, Tex Medlin, Rusty Medlin, Rusty Medlin, Charles Wood, Eric Harris and Robbie Tharp; two nieces, Dana Williams and Tess Sosa; seventeen great-nieces and nephews; two first cousins, Roger and Jimmy Storinger.
Pallbearers were Albert Sosa, Rusty Medlin, Charles Wood, Robbie Tharp and Eric Harris.
Pace Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Galloway
August 10, 2004
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 31, 2004, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel for Nina Oleta Galloway, 87, with Bro. Barry Jeffries officiating. Burial followed in Peebles Cemetery.
Mrs. Galloway was born July 27, 1917 in Huntington, the daughter of James and Venetta Davis Chandler. She died Thursday, July 29, 2004, in Memorial Medical Center - Livingston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Brian Galloway; her father, James Forrest Chandler; her mother, Venetta May Davis Chandler; brothers, Marvin Chandler, Arvel Chandler, Hulon Chandler and Presentis Chandler; sisters, Jewel Chandler Canteberry and Edwina Chandler.
Survivors include her daughter, Wanda Bobinger of Livingston; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Doris Galloway of Portland, Oregon; grandsons, Jack Bobinger and wife, Pam, of Livingston, Michael Garon Galloway of Portland, Oregon and Jeffrey Scott Galloway, who is stationed with the U.S. Army in Iraq; great-granddaughter, Natalie Kay Bobinger of Livingston; and great-grandson, Trey Scott Galloway of  Washington.
Pallbearers were Dr. Alan Lambert, Cubberson A. Parrish, Hobson Eugene Parrish, Boyce Parrish, Cannon Pritchard, Raymond Earl Pruitt, J.V. Snook and Charles Sylvester.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Maze
August 10, 2004
Funeral services were held for J.C. Maze, of Leggett, at Cochran Funeral Home on Friday, July 23, 2004. Burial followed in Rice Cemetery, Leggett.
After graduating from Livingston High School, Mr. Maze attended and graduated from Southwest  Texas State University at San Marcos, where he was known as J.C. 'Spider' Maze. In March 1986, Mr. Maze was inducted into the Southwest  Texas State University Hall of Honor in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the Champion Bobcats Basketball Team and for other contributions and professional success since leaving SWT. An article written at the time in the SWT HillViews says, "Maze's name is etched all over the SWT basketball record. Four times he was named to the All-Lone Star Conference basketball team." Mr. Maze held many SWT records such as most rebounds in a season in 1952 and eighth all-time SWT career scoring with 1,238 points. Mr. Maze was in the service during the Korean Conflict and played basketball for the Army, making all-Army in 1954 and 1955. In 1952, he was offered a place on the Boston Celtics team, but instead he took employment with Ada Oil Company in Houston and played on Ada's basketball team. Later, he coached in Houston schools and then returned to Polk County in the 70s and entered the real estate business, Maze Land Company, where he worked until his death.
Mr. Maze died on Tuesday, July 20, 2004, in Houston after an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his father, James Melton Maze; his mother, Willie Byrd Maze; and his brother, Eugene Maze.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Florence Elizabeth Tullos Maze; son, James Carter Maze of Leggett; brother, J.L. 'Rastus' Maze and wife, Delores, of Livingston; sisters-in-law, Doris Jean Atchley of Livingston and Corine Maze of Holly Grove; brother-in-law, Lon Tullos and wife, Martha, of Lake Jackson; nieces, Sherry Thomas and husband, Harry, of Holly Grove, Nina Atchley  Jones and husband, Sid, of Houston, Annis Lorraine Stavast Lowman, Jean-Maria Stavast Weil and Janell Stavast of Den Hague, Holland; nephews, Dr. Gregory Lee Maze of Houston, Jay Roy Atchley and wife, Courtney, of Clear Lake, Lon Tullos Jr. of Cypress, Alan Carter Tullos Lake  Jackson and Dr. Gordon Lee Tullos of Reading,  Pennsylvania; extended family, Alfredo, Carlotta, Brenda and Sonia Saenz of Leggett; special friend, Jennie Battise; plus a host of great-nieces and nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Jerry Maze, George Harrell, Roy Burch, Jay Roy Atchley, Stanton Marsh and Earl Abbott. Honorary pallbearers included the Adult 6 Sunday School Class of Central Baptist Church, the 1952 Southwest  Texas State University Basketball Team, Lewis Lester, Bert Whisenhunt, Benny Griffin, Anthony Page, Paul Walters, Bid Smith, Sid Jones, Terry Pace, Buddy Purvis, Jack Raymond Nettles, Alvis Nettles, Calobe Isaacs, Jim Capel, Dr. Gregory Lee Maze and Alfredo Saenz.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Walker
August 10, 2004
Graveside services for Rose Marie Orlando Walker, 7, of Livingston, were held Friday, July 30, at Restland Cemetery, with the Rev. Larry Byrd officiating.
Rose was born on May 3, 1997 in Livingston. She was preparing to enter the second grade at Goodrich Elementary School.
She died Wednesday, July 289, 2004, in Livingston. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carla Marie Orlando, in 1997.
Survivors include her grandparents, Hairm and Rosemary Walker of Livingston; aunts, Gloria Orlando and Chatta Tompkins, both of Livingston; and one uncle, Tommy Farquhar of Livingston.
Pace Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Watson
August 10, 2004
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2004, for Marie Watson, 62, of Hull, at Central Baptist Church in Daisetta, with the Revs. Harry McDaniel and Jimmy VanDorn officiating. Interment followed at Stacy Cemetery in Devers.
She was born March 28, 1942 in Liberty, the daughter of Francis and Irene Fregia Nugent. She was a homemaker and member of Central Baptist Church in Daisetta. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, flowers and caring for others.
Mrs. Watson died Wednesday at Liberty-Dayton Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Irene Nugent; and a son, Michael Watson.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Watson Sr. of Hull; daughter, Cathy McClusky and husband, David of Hull; sons, Thomas Ray Watson Jr. and wife, Tammy, of Hull and Richard Watson Sr. and wife, Debbie of Hardin; brother, Robert Aldrich and wife, Rhonda of Hardin; sister, Peggy Gipson and husband, Wade, of Hardin; grandchildren, Todd Watson and wife, Jacquie, Theresa Watson, Trent Watson,  Taylor Watson, Derrick Watson, Brandon Watson, Bryce McClusky, Andrew McClusky and Richard Watson Jr. and wife, Tabby, and daughter, Rainee.

Breazeale
August 2, 2004
Funeral services for Berniece Louise Breazeale, 83, were held Sunday, July 18, 2004, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dale Snell officiating. Burial followed in Restland Memorial Gardens, Livingston.
She was born October 27, 1920 in Gilbert, Minnesota, the daughter of Ed and Minnie Kruegar. Mrs. Breazeale died Thursday, July 15, in Harris Methodist Hospital in Bedford. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Thomas Riley and Elvin Breazeale; and her parents.
Survivors include her daughter and sons-in-law, Joyce and Timothy Rasberry of Fort Worth and Lillian Marie and Billy Seagroves of Delta, Colorado; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Carolyn Riley of Houston; sisters, Gladys Price of Georgetown and Ella Maas; grandsons, Tag Green, Davis Green, Timothy Paul Rasberry and Tommy Seagroves; granddaughters, Kimberly Rasberry, Shannon Billingsley, Heather Edwards, Courtney Ezernack, Amber Monroe and Kimberly Bennett; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Dale Billingsley, Tag Green, David Green, Shaun Ezernack, James Billingsley and Tommy Seagroves.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Chandler
August 2, 2004
Graveside services for Woodrow Wilson "Woody" Chandler, Jr., 58, of Rye, were conducted Thursday, July 22, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Bluewater Cemetery with Mr. Ricky Ray officiating.
He was born on July 16, 1946 in Goose Greek,  Texas, the son of Woodrow W. and Mable Wilson Chandler. He was a carpenter and siding installer and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married his wife, Sherry, on September 29, 1997 and had been a resident of Rye for eighteen months, moving from LaPorte.
Mr. Chandler died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at his residence. He was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow W. Chandler and one sister, Mable Chandler.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Chandler of Rye; mother, Mable Chandler of Rye; three sons and three daughters, Stacye Renee Chandler of Conroe, Woodrow Wilson Chandler III of Conroe, John Robert Landry of Pasadena, Annette Nicole Myers of Pasadena, Joey Chandler of LaPorte and Justin Lee Chandler of Baytown; one brother, Ronnie Chandler of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; three sisters, Laverne Perone and Joyce Spence, both of Houston and Bridget Ray of Tarkington; special friend, Charles Blair of Spring; and nine grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Justin Lee Chandler, John Robert Landry, Charles Blair, Bryan Lord, Cory Sanders and Eddie Wood.
Arrangements were under the direction of Pace Funeral Home, Livingston.

Enyart
August 2, 2004
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 20, 2004, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, for Eddie Enyart, 75, with Bro. Harold Isaacs officiating. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery.
He was born September 1, 1928 in Terrehaute, Indiana, the son of Thomas and Mary Smith Enyart.
Mr. Enyart died Saturday, July 17, at his residence in Livingston. He was preceded in death by his wife, Adell Enyart; his parents; son, Walter Rowe; one brother and one sister.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Lillian and David Hilton of  Texas City; son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Carol Rowe of Bandera; grandchildren, Karen Derezin, Catherine Martin, Christine Ricks and Donna Jean Joiner; and seven great-grandchildren.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Rives
August 2, 2004
Funeral services for Abner Lee Rives, 75, of Hardin, were conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at Allison Funeral Service with the Rev. Gideon Watson officiating. Interment followed at Hardin Chapel Cemetery in Hardin.
A life-long resident of the Hardin area, Rives graduated from Hardin High School. He was a salesman in the oilfield for many years and was a member of the Hardin Methodist Church. He enjoyed raising deer and supervising his gun range.
Mr. Rives died July 18 at San Jacinto Hospital in Baytown. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abner and Susan P. Cessna Rives.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Pauline Rives; sons, Byron Kent Rives and wife, Betty, Russell Lee Rives and wife, Maggie, all of Hardin, Douglas Wayne Rives and wife, Mirta, of Aransas Pass,  Texas; step-sons, Jimmy Earl Smira and wife, Janie, of Florida, and Boyd Wayne Smira; step-daughters, Gerry Louise Lucky and Coleen Rose, all of Hardin; sister, Alice Marie Hise of League City,  Texas; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Allison Funeral Service, Liberty, was in charge of arrangements.

Wiggins
August 2, 2004
Graveside services were held Monday, July 19, 2004 for Carol Ann Patton Wiggins, 59, of Hull, at the Moss Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Wade McKinney officiating.
A native of Liberty, she was a life-long resident of this area. Carol Ann was preceded in death by her father, James Patton.
Survivors include her mother, Agnes Jewel of Moss Hill-Liberty; daughter, Julia Elizabeth Smith and her husband, Kelly, of Winnie; son, James Michael Wiggins of Hull; brothers, Edward Patton and wife, Charlene, of Bridge City, Donald Lynn Patton of College Station, and Mike Patton and wife, Brenda, of Colorado; sister, Lori Coylo and husband, Gene, of Austin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
