Karen Lynn Toomey, 49, died Saturday, June 19, 2004, in Livingston.
She was born September 16, 1954 in Port Arthur, the daughter of Ray and Marie Crull Crowder.
Survivors include her husband, Regis Toomey; son, Phillip Hamilton of Cypress; daughter, Melissa Faye Morgan of Cypress; and sister, Beverly Muskwinsky of Crosby.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Weathersby
July 5, 2004
Connie Marie Weathersby, 68, of Livingston, died Sunday, June 20, 2004, in Livingston.
She had been a Livingston resident since 1995, moving from Houston. Her husband, Willard Alton Weathersby, preceded her in death. She retired from Sears as a customer service representative.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Hughes of Livingston; her mother, Lillie Neal of Dallardsville; brothers, Johnnie Neal of Dallardsville and Albert Neal; and two sisters, Cindy Birmingham of Flagstaff, Arizona and Myrtle Follis of Nashville, Tennessee.
Pace Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

West
July 5, 2004
Funeral services for Morris Neal West, 69, was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2004, at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Frank Hood officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Nogalus Prairie.
He was born July 17, 1934 in Lufkin, the son of Edgar and Mary Bounds West. Mr. West died Tuesday, June 22, at his residence in Precinct 1.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy West; sons and daughters-in-law, Morris Lynn and Carmen West of Cleveland, and John and Shelly West of Porter; daughter and son-in-law, Treasa Lee and Tom Adama of Gaudon,  Louisiana; brother, Edgar Allen West of Groveton; granddaughters, Brandie Jeter of  Oklahoma City,  Oklahoma, Melissa Gail Fimby of Reno, Nevada and Lacey West of Porter; grandsons, Brandon Jeter of Iraq, Randy West of Porter, Cody West of Porter and Robert Phitzner of Baytown; and great-grandchildren, Nicolette, Brooke and Jadon.
Pallbearers were Terry Colburn, Dale Dobie, Jabo West, Kenneth Hogg, Allen Duncan and Benny Burke. Honorary pallbearers were Leroy Myrow, James Stokes, Jack Cullum, Jerry Williamson, Pee Wee Y'Barbo, Bill Dobie and Jerry Courtney.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Odyssey Hospice,  Louisiana-Pacific Tower, 100 I-45 North, Suite 240, Conroe,  Texas 77301.

Bailey
June 28, 2004
Graveside services were held Monday, June 14, 2004 for Betty Ruth Platt Bailey, 76, at Forest Hill Cemetery, with Rev. Don Willis officiating.
She was born April 12, 1928 in Livingston, the daughter of Ernest and Loyce Cayton Platt. Mrs. Bailey died Saturday, June 12, in Shady Acres Home in Newton. She was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Linda Loyce O'Bryan.
Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Betty Platt of Jasper; nephew and wife, Billy and Rachel Platt Jr. of Jasper; niece and husband, Janetta and Roscoe Brewster of Jasper; great-nephews, Jonas Platt and Jeremy Brewster; and great-nieces, Katie Brewster and Jamie Platt.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Cox
June 28, 2004
Funeral services for Ronald Dean Cox, 60, were held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004, at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Daryl Hilbert officiating. military honors were provided by the VFW Post 8568 Honor Guard.
He was born January 11, 1944 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of William and Dorothy Baker Cox. Mr. Cox died Friday, June 11, 2004 in Houston Northeast Medical Center in Houston. He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Cox; daughter and son-in-law, Trudy and Martin Callan IV of Spring; brothers, William Cox Jr. of Friendswood, Johnny Cox of Houston and Paul Cox of Spring; sisters, Betty Mueller of hockey and Martha Ashton of Pasadena; granddaughters, Sarah Callan, Kimberly Callan and Emily Callan, all of Spring; grandson, Martin Callan V, of Spring.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Fouts
June 28, 2004
Graveside services were held Monday, June 14, 2004, at Peebles Cemetery, for Lucille 'Susie' Fouts, 73, with the Rev. Frank Hood officiating.
She was born June 16, 1930 in Goodrich, the daughter of Tommy and Mary Hill Stokes, both of whom preceded her in death. Mrs. Fouts died Friday, June 11, in Spring Branch Hospital in Houston.
Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Bob Killion of Lufkin; nieces and husbands, Sherry and David Foster of Augusta, Georgia and Lisa and Ronald Wettig of Southlake; and great-nieces, Alexandra Foster of Augusta, Georgia, Alicia Wettig, Laura Wettig and Christina Wettig, all of Southlake.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Golden
June 28, 2004
Funeral services for Wayne Golden, 56, of Votaw, were held Monday, June 14, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at Votaw Worship Center, with the Rev. William Tanton officiating. Interment followed in Votaw Cemetery.
A native of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, he was born December 17, 1947. Mr. Golden died on Saturday, June 12, 2004. He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Golden; mother, Minerva Beason; step-father, Lester Moye; and grandparents, Eddie and Laura Beason and George and Nora Moye.
Survivors include his wife, Jerry Golden; children, Rita Culpepper and husband, Roy, Eddie Golden and wife, Tina, and Roy Golden and wife, Rose Marie; step-son, James McCullough; grandchildren, Johnny Jo Mungia, Kory Maxwell, Heather Jackson, Chasity  Jackson and Mindy, Troy and Peggy Culpepper; sister, Gwen Cothran and husband, Gene; and half-sister, Joyce Ribordi.
Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, was in charge of arrangements.

Gregory
June 28, 2004
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel for Thomas Augustus Gregory, 60, with the Rev. Doyle Evans officiating. Burial followed in Farley Chapel Cemetery.
He was born August 18, 1943 in Prince County,  Washington, D.C., the son of Thomas and Mary Louise Cook Gregory, both of whom preceded him in death.
Mr. Gregory died Friday, June 11, in St. Joseph Wayne Hospital in Wayne, New Jersey.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Gregory; sons, Cody Gregory and Kenneth Gregory, both of Shepherd and James Moore of Groveton; daughter, Lisa Simpson of Shepherd; and grandchildren, Kayla Barnes, Kenny Moore, Tori Simpson and Skyler Gregory.

McMillan
June 28, 2004
Graveside services for A.A. 'Sonny' McMillan, 67, of Livingston, were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2004, at Big Sandy Cemetery, with the Rev. Rex Hendrix officiating.
Mr. McMillan was born June 3, 1937 in Livingston, the son of Alfred A. and Edna Lilley McMillan. He was a lifetime area resident and was active in sales in flea markets around the area. He served two enlistments in the U.S. Army, receiving a parachutist badge and served as a guard between North and South Korea.
Mr. McMillan died Thursday, June 17, 2004, in Houston. A daughter, Rhonda McMillan, a brother and three sisters preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Pam McClanahan of Oyster Creek and Teresa McKnight of Lake Jackson; brother, Bo McMillan of Livingston; three sisters, Edna McMillan, Joyce Fults and Lillian Hendrix, all of Livingston; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pace Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

McPike
June 28, 2004
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 19, 2004, at Pace Funeral Home for Vergie McPike, 92, of Livingston, with the Rev. Larry Byrd officiating. Interment followed in Alexander Cemetery.
She was born December 3, 1911 in Polk County, the daughter of James and Ida Jane McCormick Collum and she died on Thursday, June 17, in Livingston.
Her first husband, Leon Barker, preceded her in death in 1933. In 1940, she married Rufus McPike, and he preceded her in death on February 27, 1999. A son, Fred Allen McPike; three brothers, Roy, Jimmy and Oscar Collum; and a sister, Cora Collum, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Truman 'Pete' Barker and wife, Harva, of Livingston and Roy McPike and wife, Linda, of Anahuac; four grandsons, Allen Barker, Glen Barker, Mark Barker and Craig McPike; granddaughter, Lisa Mize; four great-grandsons, Kaleb Barker, Jared Barker, Blake Meshell and McKenzie Mize; five great-granddaughters,  Taylor Barker, Lauren McPike, Madison Mize, Lauren Barker and Savannah Barker; and a special niece, Claudia McBride.
Pallbearers were Allen Barker, Glen Barker, Mark Barker, Craig McPike, Billy McPike and Kaleb Barker.
Pace Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.

Platt
June 28, 2004
Funeral services for M.R. 'Shorty' Platt, 80, were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2004, at the First Baptist Church, with the Revs. Lee Poe and Frank Hood officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Rose Cemetery.
He was born February 22, 1924 in Splendora, the son of W.B. and Minnie Poor Platt. Mr. Platt was a deacon of the First Baptist Church and a member of the Odd Fellow Lodge.
Mr. Platt died Monday, June 14, at his residence in Livingston. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Pauline Murphy and Francis Hopson; brothers, Floyd Stowe, Oscar Platt, Arthur Platt, Forest Platt, Elmer Platt and J.W. Platt.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Jean Platt; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Gary Lawrence of Abilene; son and daughter-in-law, Morris and Sherry Platt Jr. of Livingston; brother, Curtis Platt of Livingston; granddaughters, Mitzi and husband, Jeff Holliman, Erin Platt and Leah Platt, all of Livingston; grandsons, Toby and wife, Kelli Lawrence of Kellar and Jess Platt of Livingston; and great-grandson, Justin Holliman of Livingston.
Pallbearers were Tommy Clifton, Joe Puckett, Bruce Ott, Lester Hurtt, Dudley Dickens and Bryan Dickens. Honorary pallbearers were First Baptist Church deacons and staff.
Cochran Funeral Home, Livingston, was in charge of arrangements.
