BAGGETT
Willie Mae Baggett, 62, passed away Monday, October 13, 2003 at her home in Shepherd.
She is survived by husband of 45 years, Billy Jack Baggett of Shepherd; son, Dan Baggett of Gilchrist, Jerry and Doren Baggett of San Antonio, Jimmy Baggett of Houston; daughter, Jackkie and John Stuckey of Vidor, Debbie and Mark Stewart of Humble; brother, J.W. Caldwell of Shepherd; granddaughter Sarah Baggett of San Antonio, Rachel Baggett of San Antonio, Rebecca Baggett of San Antonio; grandson Jaden Stewart of Humble; numerous relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Wade Caldwell and mother Willie Dessie Stephens Caldwell.
Mrs. Baggett was born November 28, 1940 in Shepherd, the daughter of John and Willie (Stephens) Caldwell. Willie Mae and Billy Baggett were married in Shepherd on October 27, 1957.
Pallbearers are: Jerry Bailey, Christopher Dickey, J.T. Reid, Markus Price, James Caldwell and W.L. Brock
Visitation will be held at Cochran Funeral Home /Livingston on Wednesday from 5 to 10 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Funeral services will be hled Friday, Oct. 17, 20903 at 10 a.m. at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel/Livingston. Rev. Robert B rown; Rev. Darrel McAdams will be officiating. Burial will be in the Farley Chapel Cemetery in Shepherd, following the chapel service.
Cochran Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

TYSON
Thomas Brown Tyson, Jr. 75, passed away on Oct. 1, 2003.
Mr. Tyson was born in Point Blank on January 30, 1928.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Helen; daughter, Melissa Tyson of The Woodlands; son, Todd B. Tyson and wife Wendi, of Waco, Fred Paxton of Houston; grandsons, Garand and Wyatt Tyson of Waco; and sister Bess Tyson Blythe and husband William Blythe, Sr. of Huntsville.
Following distinguished service in the U.S. Navy during WWII, Tom earned a B.B.A. from Sam Houston State College and J.D. from South  Texas College of Law. Tom served the City of Houston for 15 years, retiring as director of Public Service and then continued his career as a rate attorney with Entex, retiring in 1987.
After retirement, Tom returned to Point Blank where he was involved in the community as a volunteer with the fire department and EMS. He served as mayor of Point Blank and as a director of the Bank of San Jacinto County. He also provided pro bono legal services to the local community. Mr. Tyson was a staunch supporter of Habitat for Humanity and helped establish the local affiliate in San Jacinto County. He attended Coldspring United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 4. Memorial donations may be made to the Habitat for Humanity of San Jacinto County, P.O. Box 1398, Coldspring, Tx 77331.
Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Coldspring was in charge of arrangements.

GRIFFING
Mary Ellen Griffing, 93, passed away Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003. She was born in Thurber,  Texas, October 7, 1909.
She is survived by her foster daughter, Dorothy Bills; grandchildren, Mary Carla McGraw, Carl B. Griffing Jr.; great-grandchildren, William Lee McGraw, Michael Carey McGraw, Hendrix Ian Sternbridge.
Funeral services were held Oct 7 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Coldspring, with . Windle Kee officiating the chapel service. Burial followed at the Woodlawn memorial Cemetery, Houston, with Chaplain Bob Dunegan officiating graveside service.

BAKER
Bob D. Baker, 53, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003 at his residence in  Texas City.
Mr. Baker was born May 18, 1950 in Galveston. He was a purchasing agent/timekeeper with 30 years service for the  Texas City Railroad. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Baker of  Texas City; mother, Faye Baker of Coldspring; sons Bob Eric Baker and wife Andrea of Virginia and Kevin Ray Adkins and wife Ana of North Carolina; daughters Leslie Ann Baker of Coldspring, Christi Sue Adkins of Houston and Laura Rani Adkins of Huntsville; brother George Baker and wife Karen of Santa Fe; sister Vera Faye Brown and husband Rick of Coldspring; grandchildren Kevin Ray Adkins II, Cody Baker, Carly Baker, Ryan Copeland, Robby Copeland John Paul Adkins and James Adkins.
Following funeral services in  Texas City, interment was at Galeton Memorial Park in Hitchcock.

EVANS
Linda Evans, 93, passed away on Sept. 20, 2003. She was born Sept. 24, 1909.
Mrs. Evans is survived by her children, Marjorie Vernon and husband Gifford, Linda Jean Watson, Kenneth B. Evans and wife Ann, Eleanor R. Evans, William A. Evans and wife Diane, James A. Evans and wife Sandra; 16 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, Sept 22, at the Pace Stancil/Probst Chapel, Cleveland.

FINNEY
Baby Joseph Chevy Finney, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003. Born to Lloyd and Michelle Finney at Conroe Regional Medical Center, Conroe.
He was preceded in death by grandfather John Ellerbe and great-grandfather James Yancey.
He is survived by his mother and father, Lloyd and Michelle Finney; sisters, Melanie, Mary Ann and Sabrina; brothers, Christopher, Matthew, Johnnathon; grandparents, Burt and Judy Tullos, Blanche Finney; great-grandparents, Mary Vancey; great aunts and uncles, Ronnie and Ann Summer, Thomas and Mary Garbiner; great-great uncle, David Johnson; aunts and uncles, Bo and Trish Michon, David and Joan Hardy, Judy Finney, Brenda Finney, Carolyn Finney, Paula Finney, Donnie and Debbie Finney, Dewayne and Crosby Finney; numerous relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held Friday, Sept 19 at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens-Babyland, Cleveland with Chaplain Bob Dunegan conducting the service.

WATSON
Denman Ray "Buck" Watson, 80, passed away Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003, born in Corrigan, April 21, 1923.
He is survived by his children Denman Watson, Jr. and wife, Pam, Linda McLelland and husband, Larry, Gary David Watson; daughter-in-law Donnie Watson; sister, Ruth Parrish; brother, Oreal Watson; grandsons, Trey Watson, Crickett Watson, Johnny Don Watson, Preston McLelland; granddaughters, Patricia "Patti" McLelland, Tressa Watson, Joni Watson, Bonnie Watson Page; great-grandchildren, JonRay, Kin-dell, Wyatt, Coti, Laci, TreLisa.
He is preceded in death by wife, Onelda Frances Watson; son, Johnny Lee Watson; daughter-in-law, Terry Watson; and sister, Gladys Smith.
Funeral services will be held Sept. 27, 2003, at the First Baptist Church, Cleveland, with Dr. How-ell Burkhead, Rev. Gary Ladner and Chaplain Bob Dunegan con-ducting the service. Interment will follow at Abbott Springs Meadows Cemetery, Corrigan. Pall bearers are Trey Watson, Crickett Watson, Johnny Don Watson, Preston McLelland, Mike Comstock, Matthew Page, Josh Danner and Bubba Cox. Honorary pallbearers are Stan Provost, Will Muskwinsky, JonRay Watson, Wyatt Watson, and Ed Mitchell.
Visitation begins Thursday, Sept. 25, from 4 to 9 p.m. and all day Friday, Sept. 26, starting at 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

BOOTH
William Louis Booth, 82, of Coldspring, passed away on Sept. 10, 2003 at his residence. He was born Sept. 16, 1920 in Rising Star,  Texas.
Services were held Sept. 12, 2003 at the Point Blank Community Church, service conducted by Pastor Jack Bailey.
Mr. Booth served in the US Army in the South Pacific during World War II. His occupation was as a truck driver. He was also a member of the Shepherd Masonic Lodge.
His is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sidney Marie Booth; daughter and son-in-law, Genie and Arthur Hood; grand-daughter, Laura Howard; grandson, Christopher Homrighaus; two great-grandchildren; brother, Ray Booth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services here held under the direction of Huntsville Funeral Home.

MCCOMBS
Ida Mae McCombs, 91, of Coldspring passed away Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003. She is a native of Coldspring, born January 29, 1912. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand, great-grand and great-great-grandnieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sept. 14, 2003 at the First Baptist Church of Coldspring. The service was conducted by Dr. Don Shannon with interment at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, was in charge of the services.

SEWELL
James Harrison Sewell, 79, of Coldspring, passed away September 12, 2003. James is survived by his wife, Betty Sewell; children, Jim Sewell and wife, Janel, Kathy Sewell; four grandchildren, Jason Sewell and wife Jennifer, Jared Sewell, Seth Sewell and wife Jennifer, Brandi Currie; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Melvin Sewell, Joe Sewell, Sam Sewell.
Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church of Coldspring on Sept. 15. Interment was at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Coldspring.
The family requested that donations be made to the Crown of  Texas Hospice-Conroe, or Alzheimer's Association. Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, was in charge of arrangements.

COLQUITT
Dana J. Colquitt, 95, of New Waverly passed away Sept. 4, 2003. She was a native of Stigler,  Oklahoma, born November 3, 1920.
She is survived by her sons, John Colquitt and wife Loretta, Ed Colquitt and wife Maria, Jay Colquitt and wife Dortha, Otto Colquitt and wife Sue; daughter, Wanda Colquitt Brown and husband Stanley. She is preceded in death by her husband, George R. Colquitt.
Services were held Sept. 8, 2003 at Pace-Stancil/Probst Chapel, Cleveland. Officiating was Rev. Ladner with interment at Old Waverly Cemetery.

EMBESI
Joseph H. Embesi, Jr. was born January 27, 1939 in Houston and passed away August 29, 2003 in Huntsville. He is the oldest of four children born to Edith Ida Naccarato Embesi and Joseph H. Embesi Sr.
Mr. Embesi is survived by one son Joseph I. (Ike) Embesi and wife Ruby of Huntsville, one granddaughter Heather Young and husband Bill of Dallas. Three great-grandchildren Brent, Countney Grace of Huntsville and Seth Kody Young of Dallas. His uncles Sibio Naccarato of St. Louis, Mo., Mike Naccarato of Conroe; two brothers Robert D. Embesi of Connor, Montana and Ralph E. Embesi and wife Glory of Houston. Numerous other friends and relatives. Also, a very special friend Shirley Liebhard of Wortham.
Pallbearers were John Hobbs, Greg Smith, Jerry Saunders, Tommy Grisham, Terry Don Rogers, Danny Hurt. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Ali Bhuriuaba, Ben Aguilar, law enforcement officers and fire department members.
Services were held September 5, 2003 at Huntsville Funeral Home Chapel.
