KRESGE
Floyd Thomas Kresge of Point Blank, was born on Aug. 9, 1920 in Ellensburg,  Washington, and passed away Sept. 6, 2003 at the Timberwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility of Livingston.
He is survived by wife, Edith Davis Kresge of Point Blank; three sons, Allen Ross and Thomas , Jr. of Hawaii and Brian David of California; five step-children, Carolyn Zischang, Verna McClelland, Edith Hicks, Barbara Walpole and Raymond Davis. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Dottie and spouse Cal Morgan and Betty King of Riverside; Mary Lou and spouse Charles Stowers of  West Virginia and a host of friends and family. He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Kresge and mother, Mary Moore; and his previous wife, Lois Kresge.
Floyd's career included Naval Aviation Service from 1940 to 1946. He was a survivor of Pearl Harbor. Floyd was the youngest chief petty officer in the Navy at age 21. His authorized campaign ribbons included Asiatic Pacific-5 Stars, American Defense-1 Star and American Theater, among others.
Upon discharge, he pursued a career in civilian aviation as a Federal Aviation administrator to Eastern and American Airlines. In March 1962, Floyd was inducted as a First Class U.S. Sky Marshall appointed by U.S. Attorney General Robert Kennedy.
On January 14, 1998, he married icon Ms. Edith Davis of Houston. His extended family included five step-children, thirteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held Sept. 9, 2003 at Huntsville Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. David Morgan, pastor of the First Baptist Church of La Porte officiating. Pallbearers were Louis Blanchard, Raymond Davis, Gavin McClelland, Richard Freed, Vance Walpole and Kenneth Zischang. Honorary pallbearer was Gary Hicks.
The family requests memorial contributions be made in his memory to Crown of  Texas Hospice,  Louisiana Pacific Tower, 100 Inter-state 45 North, Suite 240, Box 103, Conroe,  Texas 77301 or the American Cancer Society.

CHOATE
Dana Michelle Choate, 22, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2003 at Memorial Health System of East  Texas in Lufkin.
She was born December 8, 1980 in Norfolk, Virginia, the daughter of Duane and Terri (Rogers) Dearborn.
She is survived by her husband, William Choate, Jr. of Shepherd; son William "Trey" Choate III of Shepherd; father Duane Dearborn of Chesapeake, Vir.; grandmother, Carolyn Richards of Shepherd; brother Christopher Rogers of Shepherd; mother-in-law Irene Choate of Shepherd; aunt and uncle Gina and Mark Barker of Manitowoc, Wis.; uncle Michael Pippenger of Gatesville, Fla.; aunt and uncle Christy and Charles Chenault of Fort Hood; great aunt and uncle Dian and Darrell Barrett of Shepherd; brother-in-law James Dean Choate of Shepherd; brother-in-law and wife John J. and Linda Choate of Gary, Tex; sister-in-law and husband Robin and Donald Brewer of Deer Park; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
She was preceded in death by her mother Terri Rogers Dearborn.
Funeral services were held Aug. 27 at First Baptist Church, Shepherd. Charles Thomas officiated. Burial was in the Farley Chapel Cemetery in Shepherd. Pallbearers were the: FM1127 Community Volunteer Fire Dept. and the San Jacinto Emergency Management Service.
Cochran Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

EMERT
Alvin Warren Emert, 48, was born in Madisonville, November 11, 1954 and passed away Aug. 31, 2003.
He is survived by his daughter Signe and son-in-law Adam Smith of Connecticut; daughter Lacy Emert of Houston; brother James Emert and wife Leatie of Huntsville; brother Marvin Emert and wife Nancy of Madisonville; sister Imogene Gafford and husband Jimmy of Bedias; and sister Elaine Emert Townsend of Huntsville; one granddaughter and three grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his father John D. Emert; mother Sarah B. Emert; and brother John J. Emert.
Alvin graduated from Madisonville High School in 1973 and remained lifelong friends with his classmates. He was employed with TDCJ-ID for 17 years. He was fire chief of Point Blank from 1994-1995.
Alvin resided in Point Blank for nine years, and his passions were his family and friends. His great sense of humor coupled with his sensitivity to help others made him an unforgettable person.
Services will be held Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003 at Huntsville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy W. Marshall officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to THEE Hospice in Huntsville.

BENNETT
Gary S. Bennett, 53, of Point Blank passed away on August 27, 2003. Services were held Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at the Paul Horton Methodist Church, with the Rev. Gary Westbrook and Eldon Reynolds officiating. Burial followed in Raven Hill Cemetery.
He was born Aug. 18, 1950 in Colorado Springs,  Colo. Mr. Bennett was employed as a field inspector. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Allen and Florence Adele Bennett.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Bennett of Point Blank; sons, Jason Bennett of Oakhurst and Jim Bennett of Point Blank; adoptive sister, Tonya Bryant of Coldspring; grandsons, Matthew Bennett and Jake Bennett, both of Oakhurst; and aunt, Virginia Boyce of Oakhurst.
In lieu of the usual floral remembrances, the family request memorials be made to a benefit account for James "Jim" Bennett, c/o First National Bank of Livingston; 936-327-1234 or 800-324-9279 for account information.
Huntsville Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

TANKERSLEY
Ross R. "Tank" Tankersley, Jr. was born January 24, 1942 in Dallas and passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003 in Houston after having lived a full and adventurous life. In addition to his lifelong career in sales, Ross' personal interest led him to becoming an avid and accomplished photographer, woodworking craftsman, chef, classical guitar player, writer and hunter. Pursuing his passion for writing, Ross wrote a weekly column entitled "Sittin' on the Fence" for the La Feria,  Texas newspaper, the La Feria News. Additionally, Ross was a periodic contributing writer for the Houston Independent Automobile Dealers Association.
In his spare time after his career and personal interests, Ross loved the peaceful and quiet times he spent at his Spring Ridge Ranch in San Jacinto County where he worked his vegetable and flower gardens and spent time with his two best friends and beloved dogs, Joe and Jade.
Even with his career and personal interest, Ross's greatest passion was his love for his three children and he was very diligent and worked very hard to be the very best father he knew how to be.
Ross is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jody Tankersley; and his three shining stars, Melissa of Houston; Christine of San Marcos; and Robert of Lake Jackson. Ross is also survived by his mother, Aileen Tankersley of Harlingen; brothers Larry Tankersley of Annapolis, Maryland; and Patrick Tankersley of Harlingen; sister, Mary Beth Wright and brother-in-law Don Wright of San Benito; nephews, David and Daniel Wright; and nieces Lauren and Careese Trankersly.
A remembrance service for Ross was held Saturday Aug. 23, 2003, in Clute.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003 at the St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Harlingen.
Palms Funeral Home, Angleton, was in charge of arrangements.

CHALK
Mark Anthony Chalk II, 17, of Shepherd passed away Friday, Oct. 24, 2003. He was born in Galveston, May 14, 1986.
He is survived by his father, Mark A. Chalk I and wife, Dita; mother, Lisa Chalk; grandparents, Ted Chalk, Chris Goertz, Elsa Bruder; brothers, Curtis Chalk, Jonathan Wakefield and wife, Elisha, and Richard Wakefield; sister, Tiffany Wakefield; uncles and aunts, Ted D. Chalk and Kathy, Jason Goertz and Beth, Angie Vandermeer and Roland; cousins, Dennis, Danny and Jennifer Chalk, Lindsay and Justice Goertz, Lauren and Ryan Vandermeer; nephews, Jonathan II and Landon Wakefield.
Services were held at the First Baptist Church, Shepherd. Rev. Tim Bruegger conducted the service with interment at Farley Chapel Cemetery.
Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland was in charge of the services.

JONES
Sallie M. Carr-Jones, 81, passed away October 12, 2003. Services were held at St. Clair Missionary Baptist Church in Shepherd. She was a long time educator in  Texas and California. She retired as a principal from Cleveland Independent School District.
Loving memories of her will be cherished by her family: brother, Columbus Carr; sister, Beulah Charles (L.C.), Icylee Crane (J.D.); a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

WHITE
Nathan Edward  White, 17, of Shepherd, passed away Friday, October 24, 2003. He was born in Durango, Colorado on July 6, 1986. He is survived by his parents Forrest and Ginger  White; grandparents, Ed and Laverne  White, Carl and Mary Jordan, Dipsey McCarty; brother, Zachary  White, and many uncles, aunts, cousins and a host of other loving family and friends.
Services were held at the First Baptist Church, Shepherd, on October 28. Bro Lonnie Walters conducted the service with interment at Farley Chapel Cemetery.

James Robert Ingram
James Robert Ingram, 76, died Saturday, October 11, 2003, at his residence in Humble,  Texas. He was known to his family and friends as " Sonny" or " Bob" Ingram. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 14, 2003, at the Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin. Reverned David Stone officiated and graveside services followed with interment at Bennett Cemetery, near Apple Springs and Centerville, in Trinity County,  Texas.
Mr. Ingram was born November 7, 1926, in the Helmic Community of Trinity County,  Texas, and he grew up in Apple Springs. He was a 1944 graduate of Apple Springs High School. Mr. Ingram served his country during World War II as a Merchant for Mrs. Baird's Bakeries, East  Texas Motor Freight Lines, and in his post-retirement years at The Truck Shack. Mr. Ingram attended Northway Baptist Church in Humble,  Texas.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John E. (Lillie Roach) Ingram; son, Paul Allen Ingram; first wife and mother of his three children, Kathryn (Alexander) Ingram; sister, Virginia (Ingram) Arnold; nephew, U.S. Navy Seaman John Edward " Johnny" Hollis; and brothers-in-law, Robert R. " Bob" Lockhart and Norman G. Arnold.
Survivors are: wife, Charlene (Barfield) Eberhardt Ingram of Humble; Sister, retired Trinity County Clerk Elaine (Ingram) Hollis Lockhart of Apple Springs; daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Craig Wright of Round Rock; son, Larry Ingram of Pensacola, Florida; seven stepchildren; eighteen grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. " Uncle Sonny" was a very special and entertaining uncle to nieces Michelle (Lockhart) Due of Apple Springs, Connie (Arnold) Middleton of Lake  Jackson and Anne (Arnold) Banks of Katy; and nephew Wayne Hollis, Jr., of Houston.
Mr. Ingram had always enjoyed fishing, reading the newspaper and just sitting on the porch drinking coffee. He was a beloved master to his pets, one Poneranian dog " Little Boy" and one black cat " B.C." He was quite the comedian - enjoying jokes and pranks.
Active Pallbearers were Gerald Ingram, grandson, of Waller; and Craig Wright, Wayne Hollis, Jr., Paul Eberhardt, Charles Eberhardt and Dennis Eberhardt.
Honorary Pallbearers were Tomy Guy Odom, Lufkin and the North Cedar community; cousins John Edd McClain, Trinity, and James Harold " Bo" McClain, Eagle Lake. Also Bruce Martin, of Lufkin, Herman Gibson, of Apple Springs, and Adolph Clay, of Houston.
Those who desire to make a contribution in memory of James R. " Sonny" or " Bob" Ingram, may mail donations to The Bennett Cemetery Association, 227 Max Due Road, Groveton,  Texas 75845 - or - to the charity of your choice.

ILA MAE (GILMORE) WILLIAMS
Mrs. Ila Mae (Gilmore) Williams, age 90, of Pennington, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2003 in the East  Texas Medical Center-Crockett. Mrs. Williams was born March 13, 1913 in the Crecy Community and had lived in Pennington all of her lifetime. She was a housewife and a member of the Pennington Baptist Church.
Survivors include: Husband of 72 years: Marvin C. Williams of Pennington/ Daughters: Nelda Starling and husband, Herman of Pasadena, Melba Beard and husband Don of Crockett, Doris Terry and husband, Albert of Apple Springs, Debby Duren and husband, George of Lufkin.
Grandchildren: Patrice Hinson and husband, Gary of Pasadena, Clinton Starling of Pasadena, Dondra Scoggins and husband, Thomas of Central, Rhonda Morris and husband, Mark of Nacogdoches, Kevin Parker of Groveton.
Great-Grandchildren: Colton Hinson of Pasadena, Rory and Celie Westbrook of Central.
Sister-in-law: Lucille Gilmore of Lufkin, Lillie Gilmore of Aurora, Missouri, Nolia Nelms of Pennington, Sallie Westbrook of Houston, Frankie Sizemore of New Caney. Numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ila Mae (Gilmore) Williams were held Sunday, October 19, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Charles Butler and Rev. Perry leamons officiating. Interment followed in the Pennington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pennington Baptist Church, Pennington,  Texas 75856.

Funeral services for Polly Ann Davis Withers 94, were held Thursday, October 23, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. in the Paririe View Methodist Church with Bro. Larry Dunn officiating. Interment followed in the Calvary Cemetery.
Polly Ann Davis Withers was born October 29, 1908 in Nogalus Prairie,  Texas and passed away October 21, 2003 in Nogalus Prairie,  Texas.
Polly Ann Davis Withers was affiliated with the Prairie View Methodist Church. She was a resident of Nogalus Prairie,  Texas and a homemaker.
She is survived by Children: Elouise & Bill Weldon of Huntsville,  Texas, Cleo McCool of Shepherd,  Texas, Grover Ashworth of Groveton,  Texas, Dewey and Ruth Ashworth of Kennard,  Texas, Cleon and Doris Ashworth of Trinity,  Texas and Charles Ashworth of Groveton,  Texas. Brother: Clarence Davis of Nogalus Prairie and Sister: Minnie Ola Smith of Groveton,  Texas. 41 Grandchildren, 86 Great Grandchildren Numerous Great Great Grandchildren, many other Relatives and Friends.
Preceded in death by Son: Claude Davis and a Daughter: Eva Black.
Pallbearers: Joey Townsend, Mike Isbell, Wayne Isbell, John Kenneth Nobles, Steven Nobles, Truman Withers.
