Beth Ann Reese Friday
TRINITY -- Services for Beth Ann Reese Friday, 73, of Kingwood were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel of the Chimes with the Rev. Larry Bewley, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial followed in the Thornton Cemetery in Trinity County.
Mrs. Friday died Friday, Sept. 5, in Humble.
She was born June 1, 1930, in Weldon and was retired from the Kroger food store company.
She was preceded in death by a son, Terry Lynn Friday; and a sister, Norma Lee Reese Wright.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerry O'Neal Friday, his wife, Patricia Friday, and Ricky Friday; two brothers, Murray Reese and Eugene Reese; a sister and brother-in-law, Ernestine and Ed Welch; nine grandchildren, Jerry, Michael, Bryan, Ronnie, Tracey, Shawna, Richelle, Courtney and Brittna; and six great-grandchildren.
Trinity Funeral Home directed the arrangements.

Mary Edna Weaver
TRINITY -- Services for Mary Edna Weaver, 63, of Trinity were held Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, in the Waller-Thornton Funeral Chapel in Trinity with the Rev. John Budd officiating.
Mrs. Weaver died Thursday, Sept. 4.
She was born Jan. 6, 1940, in Jasper, Ala., and was a member of the Friendship Harbor Church. She was known for her unconditional love for everyone and for always being willing to help others. She enjoyed yard sales and flea markets.
Mrs. Weaver was preceded in death by a son, Albert Holeman; two sisters, Viety Sager and Kathryn England; and a brother, James Alexander.
Survivors include her husband and best friend for more than 34 years, Thomas Weaver; two sons, Michael Holeman and Johnny Holeman; a step-daughter, Dorie Lyn Weaver; and a step-son, Tommy Wayne Weaver; a brother, Les Alexander; a sister and brother-in-law, Fran and Bob Kaiser; her mother-in-law, Grace Weaver; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Waller-Thornton Funeral Home of Trinity directed the arrangements.

Harold Grady Logan
TRINITY -- Services for Harold Grady Logan, 76, of Trinity were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, in the Trinity Pines Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Gray and former Pastor Kenneth Myers officiating.
Burial followed in the Brookside Cemetery in Houston.
Mr. Logan died Tuesday, Aug. 25, in Trinity.
He was born Aug. 31, 1926, in Houston and was a resident of the Trinity Cove Subdivision near Trinity. Mr. Logan was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons, VFW and the American Legion.
Mr. Logan was employed as a real estate sales agent.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Landon Logan.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Hall Logan of Trinity; a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Paula Gayle Logan of Houston; a daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Michael Clark of Houston; four step-children, Duwayne Cason, Michael Mayo, Nad Phyllis Flannagan and Chris; four grandchildren, Kyle, Kim, Brittany and Lance; and several great-grandchildren.
Trinity Funeral Home directed the arrangements.

Nona Friday Tipton
GROVETON -- Services for Nona Friday Tipton, 89, of Chita were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, at the Groveton Funeral Home with Bro. Lewis  Jones officiating.
Burial followed in the Chita Cemetery.
Mrs. Tipton died Tuesday, Aug. 12, in Crockett.
She was born July 15, 1914, in Friday and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Chita Baptist Church for more than 45 years.
Mrs. Tipton was preceded in death by her husband, Roy A. Tipton.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles and Brenda McClain of Chita and Gary McClain of Groveton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and John Haggard and Ginger and Tom Freeman, all of Chita; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Lois and Chubby Brorson, Terri McClain and Barry Hughes, Cody McClain, Shelly and George Sofka, Dana and Doc Tracy, Lisa Murry, Lanie and David Smith and Tuesde Freeman; nine great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers included Danny Dickerson, Odell Jordan, Wesley Loftin, Tommy Carpenter, Leon Potts and Ray Andrews.
The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Chita Cemetery Association, the Holly Cemetery Association or the Groveton Nursing Home.
Groveton Funeral Home directed the arrangements.

Mary Lou Kinser
TRINITY -- Services for Mary Lou Kinser, 67, of Trinity were held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel of the Chimes.
Mrs. Kinser died Sunday, Oct. 5, in Trinity.
She was born Oct. 18, 1935, in An Arbor, Mich.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, John R. and Melanie Kinser and Paul L. and Jamie Kinser; two daughters, Tonya R. Martin of Pinebluff, Wy., and Gloria April Carey; her mother, Anna Halstead; and eight grandchildren, James, Kyle, Ryan, Kevin, T.J., Mikey, Tiffany and Bobby.
Trinity Funeral Home directed the arrangements.

John Elton Powers
BRYAN -- Services for John Elton Powers, 58, of Bryan were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, 2003, in the Hillier Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Green of Covenant Family Church officiating.
Burial followed in the Steep Hollow Cemetery.
He died Friday, Oct. 17, in the St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
Mr. Powers was born June 9, 1935, in Bryan, the son of John C. and Lizzie Ruth (Smith) Powers. He was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School and a lifelong resident of Bryan.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, race cars and motorcycles and was a member of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Powers was preceded in death by a son, Elton Lane Powers; and a brother, Nathan Powers.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Gary West of Trinity; a step-son and his spouse, Layne E. and Lisa Herr of College Station; a brother, Donald Powers of Bryan; six grandchildren, Beau West of Trinity, Tara and Eslin Powers of College Station, Brittany, Kaila and Shane Herr, also all of College Station; and four great-grandchildren.
The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 3207 Briarcrest Dr., Bryan,  Texas 77802.

Dolly Odessa Bynum
TRINITY -- Services for Dolly Odessa Bynum, 91, of Trinity were held Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, at the Waller-Thornton Funeral Chapel in Trinity with the Rev. Larry Bewley officiating.
Burial followed in Glendale Cemetery.
Mrs. Bynum died Wednesday, Oct. 22, in Trinity.
She was born Aug. 6, 1912, in Scott County, Miss, the daughter of Rayburn and Eula May Joyner. Mrs. Bynum had resided in Trinity for many years and worked as a nurse until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Bynum.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Morgan and Lenora Bynum of Biloxi, Miss.; a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Doug Hinton of Gatesville; a brother and sister-in-law, Don and Linda Joyner; a sister, Audrey Denton; three grandchildren, Brenda, Jean and Drew; five great-grandchildren, Michelle, Kenny, Justin, Laveta and Sheree; six great-great-grandchildren, Mishayla, Chance, Brittany, Dac, Kaylana and Damian; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Raymond William Grothe Sr.
TRINITY -- Services for Raymond William Grothe Sr., 63, of Trinity were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, at the Waller-Thornton Funeral Chapel in Trinity with the Rev. Larry Bewley officiating.
Mr. Grothe died Oct. 17, in Houston following a short illness.
He was born Feb. 3, 1940, the son of the late Conrad and Gladys Smith Grothe. He was preceded in death by his son, Billie Grothe Jr., in January 2001.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lavonna and William Powers; a brother and sister-in-law, J.C. and Bobbie Grothe; a sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Frank Hogget; a daughter-in-law, Stacey Grothe; eight grandchildren, Sonny Grothe, Elizabeth Taylor, Marie  White, Courtney Powers, Cody Powers, Ashley Albrecht, Many Grothe and Nichole Grothe; two great-grandchildren, Peggy and C.J.; special friends Pat Klotz and Helen Grothe; and a number of nieces and nephews.

John "Henry"Harper
TRINITY -- Services for John "Henry" Harper, 84, of Quitman were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, in the Waller-Thornton Funeral Chapel in Trinity with the Rev. Barbara Campbell officiating.
Burial followed in the Glendale Cemetery.
Mr. Harper died Tuesday, Oct. 21, in Thibodeaux, La.
He was born Jan. 14, 1919, in Wood County and was a former resident of Trinity.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Campbell Harper; his parents, Bertha Williams Harper and John Lewis Harper; four sisters, Mamie Hill, Norma Stevens, Irma Lee Rice and Dorothy Moss; and a granddaughter, Jessie Louise Clark.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Clark and Rosie Longnecker; two sisters, Bertha Mae Stevens and Gladys Curtiss; three grandchildren, Allen Clark, Wade Longnecker and Jonathan Longnecker; and six grandchildren.

Morris Neil "Sonny" Jones
GROVETON -- Services for Morris Neil "Sonny" Jones, 55, of Waco and formerly of Groveton were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at the Waller-Thornton Funeral Chapel in Groveton with Bro. Neal Kemper and Bro. Robbie Bailey officiating.
Burial followed in the Bennett Cemetery.
Mr.  Jones died Wednesday, Oct. 22, in Wimberly.
He was born Nov. 24, 1947, in Groveton, the son of the late Clyde Earl  Jones and Bessie Mae Young Jones. Mr.  Jones served two tours during the  Vietnam War with the U.S. Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged from the military after receiving numerous medals for his service.
He was self-employed as a heavy equipment operator.
Survivors include two sons, Zachary  Jones of Memphis, Tenn., and Shawn  Jones of Atlanta, Ga.; three brothers, Billy C.  Jones of Gordon, J.P.  Jones of Canyon Lake and Jack W.  Jones of Tyler; six sisters, Jerry Mangum of Spring, Dot Dishman of Longview, Jo Ann Finley of Phoenix, Ariz., Barbara Sockwell of Willis, Linda Thompson of Groesbeck and Debbie Etu of Nashville, Tenn.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
