Marie Goodman Worley

Services for Marie Goodman Worley, 103, of Mesquite, and formerly of Palestine, will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Bailey & Foster Chapel with Dr. Barry Roberts and the Rev. Mike Pettitt officiating. Burial will be in the New Addition Cemetery.
Mrs. Worley died Thursday at Doctors Hospital in Dallas.
She was born July 31, 1898 in Pratt, Kan., to Horace William Thorpe and Nora Bell Martin Thorpe.
Mrs. Worley moved to Palestine in 1906 and lived here until 1995 when she moved to Dallas to live with her daughter. She was a homemaker and a charter member of the Palestine Evangelistic Temple.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dewey Goodman, J.H. Price, and C.C. Worley; daughter, Helen Hurbrough; and son Jack Goodman.
Mrs. Worley is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Hoke of Mesquite; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Hoke, Paul Dean, Chris Dean, Stephen Pagitt, Gary Thorpe, and Larry Price.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Hurbrough, Ted Hoke, and Larry Thorpe.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Norman “Bud” Roger Beene

Services for Norman “Bud” Roger Beene, 67, of Marshall, and formerly of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Roselawn Park with the Rev. Floyd Petersen officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Beene died Friday at Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview.
He was born Jan. 22, 1935 in Freestone County to James Roger and Hodgie Elizabeth Talbott Beene.
Mr. Beene was an electrician.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Beene is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Beene of Marshall; daughters, Norma Colunga of Utah, Linda Ohl of Missouri, Donna Garner of Palestine, Karen Hafermalz of Nacogdoches and Gloria Moss of Arlington; sons, Roger Beene of California and David Beene of Liberty; and 14 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Colunga, Curtis Garner, Broc Moss and Todd Hafermalz.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Roberta T. Douglas

Funeral arrangements for Roberta T. Douglas, 93, are pending at McCoy Funeral Home.
Mrs. Douglas died Friday at Palestine Health Care Center.

Annie Washington

Funeral arrangements for Annie Washington are pending at Davis Funeral Home.
Ms. Washington died Saturday at Baylor Hospital in Garland.

Betty Lea Hayes

Services for Betty Lea Hayes, 78, of Fairfield, will be at 1 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Fairfield with the Revs. Mack Roller and Hoyt McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Cemetery in Wichita Falls under the direction of Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield.
Mrs. Hayes died Wednesday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 23, 1924 in Temple, Okla. to Howard and Harriet McIntyre.
Mrs. Hayes was a retired secretary from Rockwell Corp. and a Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fairfield.
She is survived by her husband, Miles Bobby Hayes of Fairfield; sons, Gary Hayes of Arvada, Colo. and Christopher Hayes of Orlando, Fla.; daughters, Paula Hayes of Greencastle, Pa.; brother, Howard E. McIntyre of Casper, Wyo.; sister, Eileen Tidwell of Azell; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dunk Morgan, Jim Chorn, Harland Tidwell, Brent Johnson, Willie Slack and Christopher Hayes.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Addie McGriff Norwood

Services for Addie McGriff Norwood, of Grand Prairie, and formerly of Tennessee Colony, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Grand Prairie. Burial will follow in the Jimmison Quarter Cemetery in Tennessee Colony under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home.
Mrs. Norwood died Sunday.
A wake will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Eldridge Belve Wansley

Services for Eldridge Belve Wansley, 82, of Bullard, will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Elliott Chapel at Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Bullard with the Rev. Paul Ouiggins and Rey Cecil Harper officiating. Burial will follow in the Bullard Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Wansley died Wednesday night in Tyler.
She is survived locally by son, Jessie Wansley of Palestine.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, Texas, 75701.

Barbara Katherine Wells

Services for Barbara Katherine Wells, 62, of Jacksonville, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Renfro Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Paul Bonner and David Jimerson officiating. Burial will be in Jarrat Cemetery under the direction of Boren-Conner Funeral Home of Jacksonville.
Mrs. Wells died Thursday morning in Tyler.
She is survived locally by her father, William Miles Sipes of Palestine; and sister, Mary Wallis of Palestine.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, Texas, 75701.

Samuel James Manley

Services for Mr. Samuel James Manley, 77, of Palestine will be at 1 p.m. today at Palestine City Cemetery with the Rev. Buford Stockard officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory.
Mr. Manley died Wednesday at Palestine Regional Medical center.
He was born Feb. 8, 1925 in Palestine to O.D. and Kittie Belle Johnston Manley.
Mr. Manley worked for over 30 years with the railroad and was an active member in the local model airplane flying club.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Love Manley inn 1992 and brother, Q. D. Manley in 2001.
He is survived by two nieces and three nephews.

Johnella Mae “Johnnie” Morgan

Services for Mrs. Johnella Mae “Johnnie” Morgan, 77, of Joinerville are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel in Overton with the Rev. Matthew McKeller officiating. Burial will follow in the Rusk County Memorial Gardens near Henderson. Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Morgan is survived locally by Dr. Cecil D. Morgan, Jr. and Beth Morgan of Palestine.
The family will receive condolence calls from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. tonight at Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home in Overton.

Linda Davis

Services for Linda Davis, 52, of Palestine, will be at noon Monday at St. John’s Baptist Church in Grapeland.

Burial will follow at Golden Gate Cemetery in Grapeland under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home, Crockett.

Mrs. Davis died Thursday at Spring Season Nursing Home in Elkhart.

Brandon Cox

Services for Brandon Cox, 18, of Palestine will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Beckwith, pastor of Iowa Park First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the East Bridgeport Cemetery at Bridgeport under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Cox died Friday night from injuries received in an automobile accident at Mildred.
He was born March 6, 1984 in Huntsville to Kenneth G. Cox Jr. and Brenda Ray White Cox.
Mr. Cox was a senior at Cayuga High School and was to graduate this month. He was active in athletics and had played on the football team. He formerly attended Iowa Park High School and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Iowa.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Brenda and Doug Wilkinson of Palestine; father and stepmother, Kenneth G. and Toni Cox Jr. of Plainview; grandparents, Mary Ann Reeves of South Port, Fla., Elmer White and Inez White of Bridgeport, Wilma White of Bridgeport, and Dorothy Ann Wilkinson of San Antonio; sister, Erica Roosa of Burkburnett; and brother, Aaron Cox of Slocum.
Pallbearers will be Nick Kennedy, Matt Ohm, Brandon Gentry, Andy Simpson, Kyle Young and Patric Kennedy.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Opal Albritton

Services for Opal Albritton, 83, of Van will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hilliard Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stephinen Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery in Van.
Mrs. Albritton died Sunday at Palestine Health Care Center.
She was born Jan. 7, 1919 in Van Zandt County. She had lived there all of her life until she moved to Palestine Health Care Center.
Mrs. Albritton attended Union Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and retired from Van School cafeteria.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H.A. Albritton, on Dec. 7, 1996.
Mrs. Albritton is survived by sons, Tommy Albritton of Palestine, Freeman Albritton of Van and Lloyd Kindle of Mt. Pleasant; daughter, Nancy Leamons of Grapeland; brother, Willis Welch of Mississippi; sister, Hellen Richard of Lufkin; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Dale Welch, Walter Welch, Wayne Welch, Don Welch, Steve Welch and James Richard.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Charlie Kennedy

Services for Charlie Kennedy, 70, of Palestine will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Rev. Barney Walker and Robert Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Kennedy died Saturday at Lake Point Medical Center in Rowlett.
He was born April 22, 1932 in Palestine to John Body Kennedy and Ruby Jo Morris Kennedy.
Mr. Kennedy was a member of the Elkhart Assembly of God Church. He had worked as a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cornelia Kennedy, in 1999; and a brother, Johnny Kennedy.
Mr. Kennedy is survived by daughters, Kathy Kennedy of Dallas and Susan Holt of Mabank; sons, Tim Kennedy of Corinth and Robert Kennedy of Rowlett; sisters, Diana Funderburk of Tow, Nancy Curry of Jacksonville, Annette Curry Seckler of Elkhart, Mary Seeber of Midland, Mich., Kay Denson of Elkhart and Linda Pendland of Palestine; brother Buddy Kennedy of Houston; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Malone, Marcus David Kennedy, David Malone, Jack Edward Malone, Doug Knight and Josh Pendland.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Stephen Senna

Funeral arrangements for Stephen Senna, 50, of Palestine are pending at Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Senna died Sunday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
